ப்ரகாஸி²தம்’ 17
1 தத³நந்தரம்’ தேஷாம்’ ஸப்தகம்’ஸதா⁴ரிணாம்’ ஸப்ததூ³தாநாம் ஏக ஆக³த்ய மாம்’ ஸம்பா⁴ஷ்யாவத³த், அத்ராக³ச்ச², மேதி³ந்யா நரபதயோ யயா வேஸ்²யயா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ வ்யபி⁴சாரகர்ம்ம க்ரு’தவந்த: ,
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show yoʋ the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters.
2 யஸ்யா வ்யபி⁴சாரமதே³ந ச ப்ரு’தி²வீநிவாஸிநோ மத்தா அப⁴வந் தஸ்யா ப³ஹுதோயேஷூபவிஷ்டாயா மஹாவேஸ்²யாயா த³ண்ட³ம் அஹம்’ த்வாம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யாமி|
With her the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and those who dwell on the earth have become drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
3 ததோ (அ)ஹம் ஆத்மநாவிஷ்டஸ்தேந தூ³தேந ப்ராந்தரம்’ நீதஸ்தத்ர நிந்தா³நாமபி⁴: பரிபூர்ணம்’ ஸப்தஸி²ரோபி⁴ ர்த³ஸ²ஸ்²ரு’ங்கை³ஸ்²ச விஸி²ஷ்டம்’ ஸிந்தூ³ரவர்ணம்’ பஸு²முபவிஷ்டா யோஷிதே³கா மயா த்³ரு’ஷ்டா|
So he carried me away in the Spirit to a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, the one that was full of blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.
4 ஸா நாரீ க்ரு’ஷ்ணலோஹிதவர்ணம்’ ஸிந்தூ³ரவர்ணஞ்ச பரிச்ச²த³ம்’ தா⁴ரயதி ஸ்வர்ணமணிமுக்தாபி⁴ஸ்²ச விபூ⁴ஷிதாஸ்தி தஸ்யா: கரே க்⁴ரு’ணார்ஹத்³ரவ்யை: ஸ்வவ்யபி⁴சாரஜாதமலைஸ்²ச பரிபூர்ண ஏக: ஸுவர்ணமய: கம்’ஸோ வித்³யதே|
The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She held in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filth of her fornication.
5 தஸ்யா பா⁴லே நிகூ³ட⁴வாக்யமித³ம்’ ப்ரு’தி²வீஸ்த²வேஸ்²யாநாம்’ க்⁴ரு’ண்யக்ரியாணாஞ்ச மாதா மஹாபா³பி³லிதி நாம லிகி²தம் ஆஸ்தே|
A mysterious name was written on her forehead: “Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth.”
6 மம த்³ரு’ஷ்டிகோ³சரஸ்தா² ஸா நாரீ பவித்ரலோகாநாம்’ ருதி⁴ரேண யீஸோ²: ஸாக்ஷிணாம்’ ருதி⁴ரேண ச மத்தாஸீத் தஸ்யா த³ர்ஸ²நாத் மமாதிஸ²யம் ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யஜ்ஞாநம்’ ஜாதம்’|
And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly amazed.
7 தத: ஸ தூ³தோ மாம் அவத³த் குதஸ்தவாஸ்²சர்ய்யஜ்ஞாநம்’ ஜாயதே? அஸ்யா யோஷிதஸ்தத்³வாஹநஸ்ய ஸப்தஸி²ரோபி⁴ ர்த³ஸ²ஸ்²ரு’ங்கை³ஸ்²ச யுக்தஸ்ய பஸோ²ஸ்²ச நிகூ³ட⁴பா⁴வம் அஹம்’ த்வாம்’ ஜ்ஞாபயாமி|
But the angel said to me, “Why are yoʋ so amazed? I will tell yoʋ the mystery of the woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.
8 த்வயா த்³ரு’ஷ்டோ (அ)ஸௌ பஸு²ராஸீத் நேதா³நீம்’ வர்த்ததே கிந்து ரஸாதலாத் தேநோதே³தவ்யம்’ விநாஸ²ஸ்²ச க³ந்தவ்ய: | ததோ யேஷாம்’ நாமாநி ஜக³த: ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டிகாலம் ஆரப்⁴ய ஜீவநபுஸ்தகே லிகி²தாநி ந வித்³யந்தே தே ப்ரு’தி²வீநிவாஸிநோ பூ⁴தம் அவர்த்தமாநமுபஸ்தா²ஸ்யந்தஞ்ச தம்’ பஸு²ம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வாஸ்²சர்ய்யம்’ மம்’ஸ்யந்தே| (Abyssos g12)
The beast that yoʋ saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. Those who dwell on the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see that the beast was and is not and is to come. (Abyssos g12)
9 அத்ர ஜ்ஞாநயுக்தயா பு³த்³த்⁴யா ப்ரகாஸி²தவ்யம்’| தாநி ஸப்தஸி²ராம்’ஸி தஸ்யா யோஷித உபவேஸ²நஸ்தா²நஸ்வரூபா: ஸப்தகி³ரய: ஸப்த ராஜாநஸ்²ச ஸந்தி|
This calls for a mind that has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.
10 தேஷாம்’ பஞ்ச பதிதா ஏகஸ்²ச வர்த்தமாந: ஸே²ஷஸ்²சாத்³யாப்யநுபஸ்தி²த: ஸ யதோ³பஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி ததா³பி தேநால்பகாலம்’ ஸ்தா²தவ்யம்’|
They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and another has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while.
11 ய: பஸு²ராஸீத் கிந்த்விதா³நீம்’ ந வர்த்ததே ஸ ஏவாஷ்டம: , ஸ ஸப்தாநாம் ஏகோ (அ)ஸ்தி விநாஸ²ம்’ க³மிஷ்யதி ச|
The beast that was and is not, is an eighth king. Yet he is one of the seven and is on his way to destruction.
12 த்வயா த்³ரு’ஷ்டாநி த³ஸ²ஸ்²ரு’ங்கா³ண்யபி த³ஸ² ராஜாந: ஸந்தி: , அத்³யாபி தை ராஜ்யம்’ ந ப்ராப்தம்’ கிந்து முஹூர்த்தமேகம்’ யாவத் பஸு²நா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ தே ராஜாந இவ ப்ரபு⁴த்வம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யந்தி|
The ten horns that yoʋ saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they will receive authority as kings for one hour with the beast.
13 த ஏகமந்த்ரணா ப⁴விஷ்யந்தி ஸ்வகீயஸ²க்திப்ரபா⁴வௌ பஸ²வே தா³ஸ்யந்தி ச|
These kings have one mind and will give their power and authority to the beast.
14 தே மேஷஸா²வகேந ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ யோத்ஸ்யந்தி, கிந்து மேஷஸா²வகஸ்தாந் ஜேஷ்யதி யத: ஸ ப்ரபூ⁴நாம்’ ப்ரபூ⁴ ராஜ்ஞாம்’ ராஜா சாஸ்தி தஸ்ய ஸங்கி³நோ (அ)ப்யாஹூதா அபி⁴ருசிதா விஸ்²வாஸ்யாஸ்²ச|
They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them because he is the Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
15 அபரம்’ ஸ மாம் அவத³த் ஸா வேஸ்²யா யத்ரோபவிஸ²தி தாநி தோயாநி லோகா ஜநதா ஜாதயோ நாநாபா⁴ஷாவாதி³நஸ்²ச ஸந்தி|
Then the angel said to me, “The waters yoʋ saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.
16 த்வயா த்³ரு’ஷ்டாநி த³ஸ² ஸ்²ரு’ங்கா³ணி பஸு²ஸ்²சேமே தாம்’ வேஸ்²யாம் ரு’தீயிஷ்யந்தே தீ³நாம்’ நக்³நாஞ்ச கரிஷ்யந்தி தஸ்யா மாம்’ஸாநி போ⁴க்ஷ்யந்தே வஹ்நிநா தாம்’ தா³ஹயிஷ்யந்தி ச|
The beast and the ten horns yoʋ saw will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
17 யத ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய வாக்யாநி யாவத் ஸித்³தி⁴ம்’ ந க³மிஷ்யந்தி தாவத்³ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய மநோக³தம்’ ஸாத⁴யிதும் ஏகாம்’ மந்த்ரணாம்’ க்ரு’த்வா தஸ்மை பஸ²வே ஸ்வேஷாம்’ ராஜ்யம்’ தா³துஞ்ச தேஷாம்’ மநாம்’ஸீஸ்²வரேண ப்ரவர்த்திதாநி|
For God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing their kingdom over to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled.
18 அபரம்’ த்வயா த்³ரு’ஷ்டா யோஷித் ஸா மஹாநக³ரீ யா ப்ரு’தி²வ்யா ராஜ்ஞாம் உபரி ராஜத்வம்’ குருதே|
As for the woman yoʋ saw, she is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”
