பி²லிபிந​: 1

1 பௌலதீமதி²நாமாநௌ யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய தா³ஸௌ பி²லிபிநக³ரஸ்தா²ந் க்²ரீஷ்டயீஸோ²​: ஸர்வ்வாந் பவித்ரலோகாந் ஸமிதேரத்⁴யக்ஷாந் பரிசாரகாம்’ஸ்²ச ப்ரதி பத்ரம்’ லிக²த​: |

[I], Paul, and Timothy, [who is with me, are] men who serve Christ Jesus. I [am writing this letter] to all [of you who are] pastors and deacons in Philippi [city] and to the rest of God’s people [there who have a close relationship] with Christ Jesus.

2 அஸ்மாகம்’ தாத ஈஸ்²வர​: ப்ரபு⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்²ச யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ ப்ரஸாத³ஸ்ய ஸா²ந்தேஸ்²ச போ⁴க³ம்’ தே³யாஸ்தாம்’|

[We both] (OR, [I]) [pray that] God, [who is] our Father, and Jesus Christ, [who is our] Lord, [will continue to] be kind to you and [will continue to] cause you to have [inner] peace.

3 அஹம்’ நிரந்தரம்’ நிஜஸர்வ்வப்ரார்த²நாஸு யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ க்ரு’தே ஸாநந்த³ம்’ ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ குர்வ்வந்

I thank my God whenever I think about you.

4 யதி வாராந் யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸ்மராமி ததி வாராந் ஆ ப்ரத²மாத்³ அத்³ய யாவத்³

Every time [DOU] I pray [for you], I joyfully pray [DOU] for all of you.

5 யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸுஸம்’வாத³பா⁴கி³த்வகாரணாத்³ ஈஸ்²வரம்’ த⁴ந்யம்’ வதா³மி|

I [thank God and rejoice] because you have been [working] together with me in order to [make known] the good message about Christ. [You started doing that] when you first [MTY] [believed it, and you have continued doing it] until now.

6 யுஷ்மந்மத்⁴யே யேநோத்தமம்’ கர்ம்ம கர்த்தும் ஆரம்பி⁴ தேநைவ யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய தி³நம்’ யாவத் தத் ஸாத⁴யிஷ்யத இத்யஸ்மிந் த்³ரு’ட⁴விஸ்²வாஸோ மமாஸ்தே|

I am completely confident that [God], who has begun to do in you what is good, (OR, that since [God] has begun to do in you what is good, he) will continue to do that until he finishes doing it on the day Christ Jesus [MTY] [returns].

7 யுஷ்மாந் ஸர்வ்வாந் அதி⁴ மம தாத்³ரு’ஸோ² பா⁴வோ யதா²ர்தோ² யதோ(அ)ஹம்’ காராவஸ்தா²யாம்’ ப்ரத்யுத்தரகரணே ஸுஸம்’வாத³ஸ்ய ப்ராமாண்யகரணே ச யுஷ்மாந் ஸர்வ்வாந் மயா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம் ஏகாநுக்³ரஹஸ்ய பா⁴கி³நோ மத்வா ஸ்வஹ்ரு’த³யே தா⁴ரயாமி|

During this time that I have been a prisoner [MTY] and during the times I was previously able to defend the good message about Christ and proved/confirmed [to others] that it is true, all of you have been sharing with me (OR, have helped me) in this work [that God] kindly gave [to me to do. So] indeed it is right that I feel joyful about you all, because you are very dear [IDM] to me.

8 அபரம் அஹம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டயீஸோ²​: ஸ்நேஹவத் ஸ்நேஹேந யுஷ்மாந் கீத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ காங்க்ஷாமி தத³தீ⁴ஸ்²வரோ மம ஸாக்ஷீ வித்³யதே|

God [can] verify that Christ Jesus causes me to [love and] long for all of you very much, [just like] Christ loves [you].

9 மயா யத் ப்ரார்த்²யதே தத்³ இத³ம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப்ரேம நித்யம்’ வ்ரு’த்³தி⁴ம்’ க³த்வா

And what I pray [for you] is that [God will enable] you to truly know and learn how to love [one another] more and more in every situation.

10 ஜ்ஞாநஸ்ய விஸி²ஷ்டாநாம்’ பரீக்ஷிகாயாஸ்²ச ஸர்வ்வவித⁴பு³த்³தே⁴ ர்பா³ஹுல்யம்’ ப²லது,

[And I pray that he will enable] you to completely understand [how you should believe and act]. I [pray this] in order that you might be [spiritually] pure and faultless (OR, completely faultless [DOU]) on the day that Christ [returns] [MTY],

11 க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய தி³நம்’ யாவத்³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸாரல்யம்’ நிர்விக்⁴நத்வஞ்ச ப⁴வது, ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய கௌ³ரவாய ப்ரஸ²ம்’ஸாயை ச யீஸு²நா க்²ரீஷ்டேந புண்யப²லாநாம்’ பூர்ணதா யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ தீ³யதாம் இதி|

[and in order that] you might conduct your lives [IDM] completely righteously as a result of Jesus Christ [enabling you to do so], in order that [people will] honor God and praise him (OR, [people will] praise God very much [DOU]).

12 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர​: , மாம்’ ப்ரதி யத்³ யத்³ க⁴டிதம்’ தேந ஸுஸம்’வாத³ப்ரசாரஸ்ய பா³தா⁴ நஹி கிந்து வ்ரு’த்³தி⁴ரேவ ஜாதா தத்³ யுஷ்மாந் ஜ்ஞாபயிதும்’ காமயே(அ)ஹம்’|

My fellow believers, I want you to know that the [troubles] I have experienced [have not prevented me from proclaiming the good message to people. Instead], [these things that I have experienced] have enabled even more people to hear the good message [about Christ].

13 அபரம் அஹம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய க்ரு’தே ப³த்³தோ⁴(அ)ஸ்மீதி ராஜபுர்ய்யாம் அந்யஸ்தா²நேஷு ச ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ நிகடே ஸுஸ்பஷ்டம் அப⁴வத்,

[Specifically], all the military guards who are stationed [here in Rome] and many other [HYP] [people in this city] [HYP] now know that I am a prisoner [MTY] because I [proclaim the good news] about Christ.

14 ப்ரபு⁴ஸம்ப³ந்தீ⁴யா அநேகே ப்⁴ராதரஸ்²ச மம ப³ந்த⁴நாத்³ ஆஸ்²வாஸம்’ ப்ராப்ய வர்த்³த⁴மாநேநோத்ஸாஹேந நி​: க்ஷோப⁴ம்’ கதா²ம்’ ப்ரசாரயந்தி|

Also, most of the believers [here now] proclaim the message from God more courageously and fearlessly [because] they trust the Lord [more firmly to help them. They trust the Lord more] because [they have seen how the Lord has helped me] while I have been a prisoner [MTY] [here].

15 கேசித்³ த்³வேஷாத்³ விரோதா⁴ச்சாபரே கேசிச்ச ஸத்³பா⁴வாத் க்²ரீஷ்டம்’ கோ⁴ஷயந்தி;

Some people proclaim [the message about Christ as I do] because they are happy [with my work]. They proclaim [the message about] Christ because they love [me and because] they know that [God] has placed me [here] to defend the message about Christ [CHI].

16 யே விரோதா⁴த் க்²ரீஷ்டம்’ கோ⁴ஷயந்தி தே பவித்ரபா⁴வாத் தந்ந குர்வ்வந்தோ மம ப³ந்த⁴நாநி ப³ஹுதரக்லோஸ²தா³யீநி கர்த்தும் இச்ச²ந்தி|

17 யே ச ப்ரேம்நா கோ⁴ஷயந்தி தே ஸுஸம்’வாத³ஸ்ய ப்ராமாண்யகரணே(அ)ஹம்’ நியுக்தோ(அ)ஸ்மீதி ஜ்ஞாத்வா தத் குர்வ்வந்தி|

Others proclaim [the message about] Christ because they envy [me] and oppose [me]. They proclaim the message about Christ because they have wrong motives. They [wrongly] assume [that because they are causing many people to follow them, I will be jealous, and as a result], I will feel more miserable while I am a prisoner [MTY] [here].

18 கிம்’ ப³ஹுநா? காபட்யாத் ஸரலபா⁴வாத்³ வா ப⁴வேத், யேந கேநசித் ப்ரகாரேண க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய கோ⁴ஷணா ப⁴வதீத்யஸ்மிந் அஹம் ஆநந்தா³ம்யாநந்தி³ஷ்யாமி ச|

But it does not matter whether [people proclaim the message about Christ] because they have wrong motives, or whether [people proclaim the message about Christ] because they have right motives. The important thing in either case is that [the message about] Christ is being proclaimed {people are proclaiming [the message about] Christ}. And because of that I rejoice! Philippians 1:18b-26 Furthermore, I will continue to rejoice,

19 யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப்ரார்த²நயா யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாத்மநஸ்²சோபகாரேண தத் மந்நிஸ்தாரஜநகம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதீதி ஜாநாமி|

because when I experience troubles, I know that some day God will say that he approves [of what I have done] (OR, that [the Roman authorities] will set me free). [This will happen] as a result of your praying for me, and [as a result] of [God’s] Spirit, whom Jesus Christ gave me, helping me.

20 தத்ர ச மமாகாங்க்ஷா ப்ரத்யாஸா² ச ஸித்³தி⁴ம்’ க³மிஷ்யதி ப²லதோ(அ)ஹம்’ கேநாபி ப்ரகாரேண ந லஜ்ஜிஷ்யே கிந்து க³தே ஸர்வ்வஸ்மிந் காலே யத்³வத் தத்³வத்³ இதா³நீமபி ஸம்பூர்ணோத்ஸாஹத்³வாரா மம ஸ²ரீரேண க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய மஹிமா ஜீவநே மரணே வா ப்ரகாஸி²ஷ்யதே|

I [know that this will happen] because I very confidently expect [DOU] that I will faithfully honor Christ. I expect that like I always [have done], Christ will be greatly honored {I will continue now also to very boldly honor Christ} by means of all that I do [SYN, MTY], whether by [the way I] live or [by the way I] die.

21 யதோ மம ஜீவநம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டாய மரணஞ்ச லாபா⁴ய|

As for me, I live [in order to honor] Christ. But if I die, it will be better [for me than if I continue to live, because then I will be with him].

22 கிந்து யதி³ ஸ²ரீரே மயா ஜீவிதவ்யம்’ தர்ஹி தத் கர்ம்மப²லம்’ ப²லிஷ்யதி தஸ்மாத் கிம்’ வரிதவ்யம்’ தந்மயா ந ஜ்ஞாயதே|

On the other hand, if I continue to live, that will enable me to continue to serve [Christ] effectively. As a result, I do not know which to choose.

23 த்³வாப்⁴யாம் அஹம்’ ஸம்பீட்³யே, தே³ஹவாஸத்யஜநாய க்²ரீஷ்டேந ஸஹவாஸாய ச மமாபி⁴லாஷோ ப⁴வதி யதஸ்தத் ஸர்வ்வோத்தமம்’|

That is, I am not sure which of those two I [prefer]. I long to leave [this world] and [go to] be with Christ, because that will be very much better [for me].

24 கிந்து தே³ஹே மமாவஸ்தி²த்யா யுஷ்மாகம் அதி⁴கப்ரயோஜநம்’|

Nevertheless, it is more important that I remain alive [than that I go to be with Christ because] you still need [me to help you].

25 அஹம் அவஸ்தா²ஸ்யே யுஷ்மாபி⁴​: ஸர்வ்வை​: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம் அவஸ்தி²திம்’ கரிஷ்யே ச தயா ச விஸ்²வாஸே யுஷ்மாகம்’ வ்ரு’த்³த்⁴யாநந்தௌ³ ஜநிஷ்யேதே தத³ஹம்’ நிஸ்²சிதம்’ ஜாநாமி|

Since I am convinced of this, I know that I will remain [alive] and that I will [go/come to] be with you all. [As a result], you will believe [in Christ] more firmly, and [as a result of that], you will rejoice.

26 தேந ச மத்தோ(அ)ர்த²தோ யுஷ்மத்ஸமீபே மம புநருபஸ்தி²தத்வாத் யூயம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டேந யீஸு²நா ப³ஹுதரம் ஆஹ்லாத³ம்’ லப்ஸ்யத்⁴வே|

[That is], you will be able to rejoice very greatly because of Christ Jesus [bringing] me [to be with you again].

27 யூயம்’ ஸாவதா⁴நா பூ⁴த்வா க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸுஸம்’வாத³ஸ்யோபயுக்தம் ஆசாரம்’ குருத்⁴வம்’ யதோ(அ)ஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் உபாக³த்ய ஸாக்ஷாத் குர்வ்வந் கிம்’ வா தூ³ரே திஷ்ட²ந் யுஷ்மாகம்’ யாம்’ வார்த்தாம்’ ஸ்²ரோதும் இச்சா²மி ஸேயம்’ யூயம் ஏகாத்மாநஸ்திஷ்ட²த², ஏகமநஸா ஸுஸம்’வாத³ஸம்ப³ந்தீ⁴யவிஸ்²வாஸஸ்ய பக்ஷே யதத்⁴வே, விபக்ஷைஸ்²ச கேநாபி ப்ரகாரேண ந வ்யாகுலீக்ரியத்⁴வ இதி|

Most importantly, as fellow [believers in Christ], conduct yourselves just like [you learned you should do when you heard] the message about Christ. Do that in order that whether I come and see you, or whether [I am away from you and] people tell me about you, [what I hear or see will make me happy]. They will tell me that you are unitedly and cooperatively resisting [those who oppose the message about Christ] (OR, [oppose you]). I [will know] that you are not allowing others to influence you to believe a message that is different from the gospel [about Christ].

28 தத் தேஷாம்’ விநாஸ²ஸ்ய லக்ஷணம்’ யுஷ்மாகஞ்சேஸ்²வரத³த்தம்’ பரித்ராணஸ்ய லக்ஷணம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|

And I [will know] that you are not at all frightened by {afraid of} the people who oppose you. This will show/prove to those people that [God] will destroy them, but this will show/prove to you that [God] will save you eternally. It is God who is doing [all] this.

29 யதோ யேந யுஷ்மாபி⁴​: க்²ரீஷ்டே கேவலவிஸ்²வாஸ​: க்ரியதே தந்நஹி கிந்து தஸ்ய க்ரு’தே க்லேஸோ²(அ)பி ஸஹ்யதே தாத்³ரு’ஸோ² வர​: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாநுரோதா⁴த்³ யுஷ்மாபி⁴​: ப்ராபி,

Remember that he has not only kindly enabled you to believe in Christ, [he] has also kindly allowed you to suffer for the sake of Christ.

30 தஸ்மாத் மம யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ யுத்³த⁴ம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரத³ர்ஸி² ஸாம்ப்ரதம்’ ஸ்²ரூயதே ச தாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ யுத்³த⁴ம்’ யுஷ்மாகம் அபி ப⁴வதி|

[As a result], you are [having to] resist [those who oppose the good message], just like you saw that I [had to] resist [such people there in Philippi], and just like you hear that I [still have to resist such people here] now.
