1 அத² ஸ தாநவாதீ³த் யுஷ்மப்⁴யமஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ கத²யாமி, ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யம்’ பராக்ரமேணோபஸ்தி²தம்’ ந த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ம்ரு’த்யும்’ நாஸ்வாதி³ஷ்யந்தே, அத்ர த³ண்டா³யமாநாநாம்’ மத்⁴யேபி தாத்³ரு’ஸா² லோகா: ஸந்தி|
And he said to them: Amen I say to you, that there are some of them that stand here, who shall not taste death, till they see the kingdom of God coming in power.
2 அத² ஷட்³தி³நேப்⁴ய: பரம்’ யீஸு²: பிதரம்’ யாகூப³ம்’ யோஹநஞ்ச க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா கி³ரேருச்சஸ்ய நிர்ஜநஸ்தா²நம்’ க³த்வா தேஷாம்’ ப்ரத்யக்ஷே மூர்த்யந்தரம்’ த³தா⁴ர|
And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter and James and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves, and was transfigured before them.
3 ததஸ்தஸ்ய பரிதே⁴யம் ஈத்³ரு’ஸ²ம் உஜ்ஜ்வலஹிமபாணட³ரம்’ ஜாதம்’ யத்³ ஜக³தி கோபி ரஜகோ ந தாத்³ரு’க் பாணட³ரம்’ கர்த்தாம்’ ஸ²க்நோதி|
And his garments became shining and exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller upon earth can make white.
4 அபரஞ்ச ஏலியோ மூஸாஸ்²ச தேப்⁴யோ த³ர்ஸ²நம்’ த³த்த்வா யீஸு²நா ஸஹ கத²நம்’ கர்த்துமாரேபா⁴தே|
And there appeared to them Elias with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.
5 ததா³ பிதரோ யீஸு²மவாதீ³த் ஹே கு³ரோ(அ)ஸ்மாகமத்ர ஸ்தி²திருத்தமா, ததஏவ வயம்’ த்வத்க்ரு’தே ஏகாம்’ மூஸாக்ரு’தே ஏகாம் ஏலியக்ரு’தே சைகாம்’, ஏதாஸ்திஸ்ர: குடீ ர்நிர்ம்மாம|
And Peter answering, said to Jesus: Rabbi, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
6 கிந்து ஸ யது³க்தவாந் தத் ஸ்வயம்’ ந பு³பு³தே⁴ தத: ஸர்வ்வே பி³ப⁴யாஞ்சக்ரு: |
For he knew not what he said: for they were struck with fear.
7 ஏதர்ஹி பயோத³ஸ்தாந் சா²த³யாமாஸ, மமயாம்’ ப்ரிய: புத்ர: கதா²ஸு தஸ்ய மநாம்’ஸி நிவேஸ²யதேதி நபோ⁴வாணீ தந்மேத்³யாந்நிர்யயௌ|
And there was a cloud overshadowing them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying: This is my most beloved son; hear ye him.
8 அத² ஹடா²த்தே சதுர்தி³ஸோ² த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா யீஸு²ம்’ விநா ஸ்வை: ஸஹிதம்’ கமபி ந த³த்³ரு’ஸு²: |
And immediately looking about, they saw no man any more, but Jesus only with them.
9 தத: பரம்’ கி³ரேரவரோஹணகாலே ஸ தாந் கா³ட⁴ம் தூ³த்யாதி³தே³ஸ² யாவந்நரஸூநோ: ஸ்²மஸா²நாது³த்தா²நம்’ ந ப⁴வதி, தாவத் த³ர்ஸ²நஸ்யாஸ்ய வார்த்தா யுஷ்மாபி⁴: கஸ்மைசித³பி ந வக்தவ்யா|
And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them not to tell any man what things they had seen, till the Son of man shall be risen again from the dead.
10 ததா³ ஸ்²மஸா²நாது³த்தா²நஸ்ய கோபி⁴ப்ராய இதி விசார்ய்ய தே தத்³வாக்யம்’ ஸ்வேஷு கோ³பாயாஞ்சக்ரிரே|
And they kept the word to themselves; questioning together what that should mean, when he shall be risen from the dead.
11 அத² தே யீஸு²ம்’ பப்ரச்சு²: ப்ரத²மத ஏலியேநாக³ந்தவ்யம் இதி வாக்யம்’ குத உபாத்⁴யாயா ஆஹு: ?
And they asked him, saying: Why then do the Pharisees and scribes say that Elias must come first?
12 ததா³ ஸ ப்ரத்யுவாச, ஏலிய: ப்ரத²மமேத்ய ஸர்வ்வகார்ய்யாணி ஸாத⁴யிஷ்யதி; நரபுத்ரே ச லிபி ர்யதா²ஸ்தே ததை²வ ஸோபி ப³ஹுது³: க²ம்’ ப்ராப்யாவஜ்ஞாஸ்யதே|
Who answering, said to them: Elias, when he shall come first, shall restore all things; and as it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things and be despised.
13 கிந்த்வஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் வதா³மி, ஏலியார்தே² லிபி ர்யதா²ஸ்தே ததை²வ ஸ ஏத்ய யயௌ, லோகா: ஸ்வேச்சா²நுரூபம்’ தமபி⁴வ்யவஹரந்தி ஸ்ம|
But I say to you, that Elias also is come, (and they have done to him whatsoever they would, ) as it is written of him.
14 அநந்தரம்’ ஸ ஸி²ஷ்யஸமீபமேத்ய தேஷாம்’ சது: பார்ஸ்²வே தை: ஸஹ ப³ஹுஜநாந் விவத³மாநாந் அத்⁴யாபகாம்’ஸ்²ச த்³ரு’ஷ்டவாந்;
And coming to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes disputing with them.
15 கிந்து ஸர்வ்வலோகாஸ்தம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வைவ சமத்க்ரு’த்ய ததா³ஸந்நம்’ தா⁴வந்தஸ்தம்’ ப்ரணேமு: |
And presently all the people seeing Jesus, were astonished and struck with fear; and running to him, they saluted him.
16 ததா³ யீஸு²ரத்⁴யாபகாநப்ராக்ஷீத்³ ஏதை: ஸஹ யூயம்’ கிம்’ விவத³த்⁴வே?
And he asked them: What do you question about among you?
17 ததோ லோகாநாம்’ கஸ்²சிதே³க: ப்ரத்யவாதீ³த் ஹே கு³ரோ மம ஸூநும்’ மூகம்’ பூ⁴தத்⁴ரு’தஞ்ச ப⁴வதா³ஸந்நம் ஆநயம்’|
And one of the multitude, answering, said: Master, I have brought my son to thee, having a dumb spirit.
18 யதா³ஸௌ பூ⁴தஸ்தமாக்ரமதே ததை³வ பாதஸதி ததா² ஸ பே²ணாயதே, த³ந்தைர்த³ந்தாந் க⁴ர்ஷதி க்ஷீணோ ப⁴வதி ச; ததோ ஹேதோஸ்தம்’ பூ⁴தம்’ த்யாஜயிதும்’ ப⁴வச்சி²ஷ்யாந் நிவேதி³தவாந் கிந்து தே ந ஸே²கு: |
Who, wheresoever he taketh him, dasheth him, and he foameth, and gnasheth with the teeth, and pineth away; and I spoke to thy disciples to cast him out, and they could not.
19 ததா³ ஸ தமவாதீ³த், ரே அவிஸ்²வாஸிந: ஸந்தாநா யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸஹ கதி காலாநஹம்’ ஸ்தா²ஸ்யாமி? அபராந் கதி காலாந் வா வ ஆசாராந் ஸஹிஷ்யே? தம்’ மதா³ஸந்நமாநயத|
Who answering them, said: O incredulous generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 ததஸ்தத்ஸந்நிதி⁴ம்’ ஸ ஆநீயத கிந்து தம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வைவ பூ⁴தோ பா³லகம்’ த்⁴ரு’தவாந்; ஸ ச பூ⁴மௌ பதித்வா பே²ணாயமாநோ லுலோட²|
And they brought him. And when he had seen him, immediately the spirit troubled him; and being thrown down upon the ground, he rolled about foaming.
21 ததா³ ஸ தத்பிதரம்’ பப்ரச்ச², அஸ்யேத்³ரு’ஸீ² த³ஸா² கதி தி³நாநி பூ⁴தா? தத: ஸோவாதீ³த் பா³ல்யகாலாத்|
And he asked his father: How long time is it since this hath happened unto him? But he said: From his infancy:
22 பூ⁴தோயம்’ தம்’ நாஸ²யிதும்’ ப³ஹுவாராந் வஹ்நௌ ஜலே ச ந்யக்ஷிபத் கிந்து யதி³ ப⁴வாந கிமபி கர்த்தாம்’ ஸ²க்நோதி தர்ஹி த³யாம்’ க்ரு’த்வாஸ்மாந் உபகரோது|
And oftentimes hath he cast him into the fire and into waters to destroy him. But if thou canst do any thing, help us, having compassion on us.
23 ததா³ யீஸு²ஸ்தமவத³த் யதி³ ப்ரத்யேதும்’ ஸ²க்நோஷி தர்ஹி ப்ரத்யயிநே ஜநாய ஸர்வ்வம்’ ஸாத்⁴யம்|
And Jesus saith to him: If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 ததஸ்தத்க்ஷணம்’ தத்³பா³லகஸ்ய பிதா ப்ரோச்சை ரூவந் ஸாஸ்²ருநேத்ர: ப்ரோவாச, ப்ரபோ⁴ ப்ரத்யேமி மமாப்ரத்யயம்’ ப்ரதிகுரு|
And immediately the father of the boy crying out, with tears said: I do believe, Lord: help my unbelief.
25 அத² யீஸு² ர்லோகஸங்க⁴ம்’ தா⁴வித்வாயாந்தம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா தமபூதபூ⁴தம்’ தர்ஜயித்வா ஜகா³த³, ரே ப³தி⁴ர மூக பூ⁴த த்வமேதஸ்மாத்³ ப³ஹிர்ப⁴வ புந: கதா³பி மாஸ்²ரயைநம்’ த்வாமஹம் இத்யாதி³ஸா²மி|
And when Jesus saw the multitude running together, he threatened the unclean spirit, saying to him: Deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, go out of him; and enter not any more into him.
26 ததா³ ஸ பூ⁴தஸ்²சீத்ஸ²ப்³த³ம்’ க்ரு’த்வா தமாபீட்³ய ப³ஹிர்ஜஜாம, ததோ பா³லகோ ம்ரு’தகல்போ ப³பூ⁴வ தஸ்மாத³யம்’ ம்ரு’தஇத்யநேகே கத²யாமாஸு: |
And crying out, and greatly tearing him, he went out of him, and he became as dead, so that many said: He is dead.
27 கிந்து கரம்’ த்⁴ரு’த்வா யீஸு²நோத்தா²பித: ஸ உத்தஸ்தௌ²|
But Jesus taking him by the hand, lifted him up; and he arose.
28 அத² யீஸௌ² க்³ரு’ஹம்’ ப்ரவிஷ்டே ஸி²ஷ்யா கு³ப்தம்’ தம்’ பப்ரச்சு²: , வயமேநம்’ பூ⁴தம்’ த்யாஜயிதும்’ குதோ ந ஸ²க்தா: ?
And when he was come into the house, his disciples secretly asked him: Why could not we cast him out?
29 ஸ உவாச, ப்ரார்த²நோபவாஸௌ விநா கேநாப்யந்யேந கர்ம்மணா பூ⁴தமீத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ த்யாஜயிதும்’ ந ஸ²க்யம்’|
And he said to them: This kind can go out by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
30 அநந்தரம்’ ஸ தத்ஸ்தா²நாதி³த்வா கா³லீல்மத்⁴யேந யயௌ, கிந்து தத் கோபி ஜாநீயாதி³தி ஸ நைச்ச²த்|
And departing from thence, they passed through Galilee, and he would not that any man should know it.
31 அபரஞ்ச ஸ ஸி²ஷ்யாநுபதி³ஸ²ந் ப³பா⁴ஷே, நரபுத்ரோ நரஹஸ்தேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதே தே ச தம்’ ஹநிஷ்யந்தி தைஸ்தஸ்மிந் ஹதே த்ரு’தீயதி³நே ஸ உத்தா²ஸ்யதீதி|
And he taught his disciple, and said to them: The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise again the third day.
32 கிந்து தத்கதா²ம்’ தே நாபு³த்⁴யந்த ப்ரஷ்டுஞ்ச பி³ப்⁴ய: |
But they understood not the word, and they were afraid to ask him.
33 அத² யீஸு²: கப²ர்நாஹூம்புரமாக³த்ய மத்⁴யேக்³ரு’ஹஞ்சேத்ய தாநப்ரு’ச்ச²த்³ வர்த்மமத்⁴யே யூயமந்யோந்யம்’ கிம்’ விவத³த்⁴வே ஸ்ம?
And they came to Capharnaum. And when they were in the house, he asked them: What did you treat of in the way?
34 கிந்து தே நிருத்தராஸ்தஸ்து² ர்யஸ்மாத்தேஷாம்’ கோ முக்²ய இதி வர்த்மாநி தே(அ)ந்யோந்யம்’ வ்யவத³ந்த|
But they held their peace, for in the way they had disputed among themselves, which of them should be the greatest.
35 தத: ஸ உபவிஸ்²ய த்³வாத³ஸ²ஸி²ஷ்யாந் ஆஹூய ப³பா⁴ஷே ய: கஸ்²சித் முக்²யோ ப⁴விதுமிச்ச²தி ஸ ஸர்வ்வேப்⁴யோ கௌ³ண: ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ ஸேவகஸ்²ச ப⁴வது|
And sitting down, he called the twelve, and saith to them: If any man desire to be first, he shall be the last of all, and the minister of all.
36 ததா³ ஸ பா³லகமேகம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா மத்⁴யே ஸமுபாவேஸ²யத் ததஸ்தம்’ க்ரோடே³ க்ரு’த்வா தாநவாதா³த்
And taking a child, he set him in the midst of them. Whom when he had embraced, he saith to them:
37 ய: கஸ்²சிதீ³த்³ரு’ஸ²ஸ்ய கஸ்யாபி பா³லஸ்யாதித்²யம்’ கரோதி ஸ மமாதித்²யம்’ கரோதி; ய: கஸ்²சிந்மமாதித்²யம்’ கரோதி ஸ கேவலம் மமாதித்²யம்’ கரோதி தந்ந மத்ப்ரேரகஸ்யாப்யாதித்²யம்’ கரோதி|
Whosoever shall receive one such child as this in my name, receiveth me. And whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
38 அத² யோஹந் தமப்³ரவீத் ஹே கு³ரோ, அஸ்மாகமநநுகா³மிநம் ஏகம்’ த்வாந்நாம்நா பூ⁴தாந் த்யாஜயந்தம்’ வயம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டவந்த: , அஸ்மாகமபஸ்²சாத்³கா³மித்வாச்ச தம்’ ந்யஷேதா⁴ம|
John answered him, saying: Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, who followeth not us, and we forbade him.
39 கிந்து யீஸு²ரவத³த் தம்’ மா நிஷேத⁴த், யதோ ய: கஸ்²சிந் மந்நாம்நா சித்ரம்’ கர்ம்ம கரோதி ஸ ஸஹஸா மாம்’ நிந்தி³தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
But Jesus said: Do not forbid him. For there is no man that doth a miracle in my name, and can soon speak ill of me.
40 ததா² ய: கஸ்²சித்³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ விபக்ஷதாம்’ ந கரோதி ஸ யுஷ்மாகமேவ ஸபக்ஷ: |
For he that is not against you, is for you.
41 ய: கஸ்²சித்³ யுஷ்மாந் க்²ரீஷ்டஸி²ஷ்யாந் ஜ்ஞாத்வா மந்நாம்நா கம்’ஸைகேந பாநீயம்’ பாதும்’ த³தா³தி, யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வச்மி, ஸ ப²லேந வஞ்சிதோ ந ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
For whosoever shall give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because you belong to Christ: amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
42 கிந்து யதி³ கஸ்²சிந் மயி விஸ்²வாஸிநாமேஷாம்’ க்ஷுத்³ரப்ராணிநாம் ஏகஸ்யாபி விக்⁴நம்’ ஜநயதி, தர்ஹி தஸ்யைதத்கர்ம்ம கரணாத் கண்ட²ப³த்³த⁴பேஷணீகஸ்ய தஸ்ய ஸாக³ராகா³த⁴ஜல மஜ்ஜநம்’ ப⁴த்³ரம்’|
And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
43 அத: ஸ்வகரோ யதி³ த்வாம்’ பா³த⁴தே தர்ஹி தம்’ சி²ந்தி⁴;
And if thy hand scandalize thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into unquenchable fire: (Geenna g1067)
44 யஸ்மாத் யத்ர கீடா ந ம்ரியந்தே வஹ்நிஸ்²ச ந நிர்வ்வாதி, தஸ்மிந் அநிர்வ்வாணாநலநரகே கரத்³வயவஸ்தவ க³மநாத் கரஹீநஸ்ய ஸ்வர்க³ப்ரவேஸ²ஸ்தவ க்ஷேமம்’| (Geenna g1067)
Where there worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.
45 யதி³ தவ பாதோ³ விக்⁴நம்’ ஜநயதி தர்ஹி தம்’ சி²ந்தி⁴,
And if thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter lame into life everlasting, than having two feet, to be cast into the hell of unquenchable fire: (Geenna g1067)
46 யதோ யத்ர கீடா ந ம்ரியந்தே வஹ்நிஸ்²ச ந நிர்வ்வாதி, தஸ்மிந் (அ)நிர்வ்வாணவஹ்நௌ நரகே த்³விபாத³வதஸ்தவ நிக்ஷேபாத் பாத³ஹீநஸ்ய ஸ்வர்க³ப்ரவேஸ²ஸ்தவ க்ஷேமம்’| (Geenna g1067)
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.
47 ஸ்வநேத்ரம்’ யதி³ த்வாம்’ பா³த⁴தே தர்ஹி தத³ப்யுத்பாடய, யதோ யத்ர கீடா ந ம்ரியந்தே வஹ்நிஸ்²ச ந நிர்வ்வாதி,
And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out. It is better for thee with one eye to enter into the kingdom of God, than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire: (Geenna g1067)
48 தஸ்மிந (அ)நிர்வ்வாணவஹ்நௌ நரகே த்³விநேத்ரஸ்ய தவ நிக்ஷேபாத்³ ஏகநேத்ரவத ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யே ப்ரவேஸ²ஸ்தவ க்ஷேமம்’| (Geenna g1067)
Where the worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.
49 யதா² ஸர்வ்வோ ப³லி ர்லவணாக்த: க்ரியதே ததா² ஸர்வ்வோ ஜநோ வஹ்நிரூபேண லவணாக்த: காரிஷ்யதே|
For every one shall be salted with fire: and every victim shall be salted with salt.
50 லவணம்’ ப⁴த்³ரம்’ கிந்து யதி³ லவணே ஸ்வாது³தா ந திஷ்ட²தி, தர்ஹி கத²ம் ஆஸ்வாத்³யுக்தம்’ கரிஷ்யத²? யூயம்’ லவணயுக்தா ப⁴வத பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரேம குருத|
Salt is good. But if the salt became unsavoury; wherewith will you season it? Have salt in you, and have peace among you.
