1 அநந்தரம்’ யிரூஸா²லம ஆக³தா: பி²ரூஸி²நோ(அ)த்⁴யாபகாஸ்²ச யீஸோ²: ஸமீபம் ஆக³தா: |
Then the Pharisees, and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.
2 தே தஸ்ய கியத: ஸி²ஷ்யாந் அஸு²சிகரைரர்தா²த³ அப்ரக்ஷாலிதஹஸ்தை ர்பு⁴ஞ்ஜதோ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா தாநதூ³ஷயந்|
Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is, unwashed, hands, they found fault.
3 யத: பி²ரூஸி²ந: ஸர்வ்வயிஹூதீ³யாஸ்²ச ப்ராசாம்’ பரம்பராக³தவாக்யம்’ ஸம்மந்ய ப்ரதலேந ஹஸ்தாந் அப்ரக்ஷால்ய ந பு⁴ஞ்ஜதே|
(For the Pharisees, and all Jewish people, do not eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the Tradition of the Elders.
4 ஆபநாதா³க³த்ய மஜ்ஜநம்’ விநா ந கா²த³ந்தி; ததா² பாநபாத்ராணாம்’ ஜலபாத்ராணாம்’ பித்தலபாத்ராணாம் ஆஸநாநாஞ்ச ஜலே மஜ்ஜநம் இத்யாத³யோந்யேபி ப³ஹவஸ்தேஷாமாசாரா: ஸந்தி|
They do not eat when they come from the marketplace unless they wash. And there are many other things which they have received and hold to, the washing of cups and pitchers and copper vessels and dining couches.)
5 தே பி²ரூஸி²நோ(அ)த்⁴யாபகாஸ்²ச யீஸு²ம்’ பப்ரச்சு²: , தவ ஸி²ஷ்யா: ப்ராசாம்’ பரம்பராக³தவாக்யாநுஸாரேண நாசரந்தோ(அ)ப்ரக்ஷாலிதகரை: குதோ பு⁴ஜம்’தே?
The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why do your disciples not walk according to the Tradition of the Elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?"
6 தத: ஸ ப்ரத்யுவாச கபடிநோ யுஷ்மாந் உத்³தி³ஸ்²ய யிஸ²யியப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதீ³ யுக்தமவாதீ³த்| யதா² ஸ்வகீயைரத⁴ரைரேதே ஸம்மந்யநதே ஸதை³வ மாம்’| கிந்து மத்தோ விப்ரகர்ஷே ஸந்தி தேஷாம்’ மநாம்’ஸி ச|
He said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 ஸி²க்ஷயந்தோ பி³தீ⁴ந் ந்நாஜ்ஞா ப⁴ஜந்தே மாம்’ முதை⁴வ தே|
And in vain do they worship me, teaching instructions that are the commandments of humans.'
8 யூயம்’ ஜலபாத்ரபாநபாத்ராதீ³நி மஜ்ஜயந்தோ மநுஜபரம்பராக³தவாக்யம்’ ரக்ஷத² கிந்து ஈஸ்²வராஜ்ஞாம்’ லம்’க⁴த்⁴வே; அபரா ஈத்³ரு’ஸ்²யோநேகா: க்ரியா அபி குருத்⁴வே|
"For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to human tradition."
9 அந்யஞ்சாகத²யத் யூயம்’ ஸ்வபரம்பராக³தவாக்யஸ்ய ரக்ஷார்த²ம்’ ஸ்பஷ்டரூபேண ஈஸ்²வராஜ்ஞாம்’ லோபயத²|
He said to them, "Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may establish your tradition.
10 யதோ மூஸாத்³வாரா ப்ரோக்தமஸ்தி ஸ்வபிதரௌ ஸம்மந்யத்⁴வம்’ யஸ்து மாதரம்’ பிதரம்’ வா து³ர்வ்வாக்யம்’ வக்தி ஸ நிதாந்தம்’ ஹந்யதாம்’|
For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother;' and, 'Anyone who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.'
11 கிந்து மதீ³யேந யேந த்³ரவ்யேண தவோபகாரோப⁴வத் தத் கர்ப்³பா³ணமர்தா²த்³ ஈஸ்²வராய நிவேதி³தம் இத³ம்’ வாக்யம்’ யதி³ கோபி பிதரம்’ மாதரம்’ வா வக்தி
But you say, 'If anyone tells his father or mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban, that is to say, given to God;"'
12 தர்ஹி யூயம்’ மாது: பிது ர்வோபகாரம்’ கர்த்தாம்’ தம்’ வாரயத²|
then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
13 இத்த²ம்’ ஸ்வப்ரசாரிதபரம்பராக³தவாக்யேந யூயம் ஈஸ்²வராஜ்ஞாம்’ முதா⁴ வித⁴த்³வ்வே, ஈத்³ரு’ஸா²ந்யந்யாந்யநேகாநி கர்ம்மாணி குருத்⁴வே|
making void the word of God by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this."
14 அத² ஸ லோகாநாஹூய ப³பா⁴ஷே யூயம்’ ஸர்வ்வே மத்³வாக்யம்’ ஸ்²ரு’ணுத பு³த்⁴யத்⁴வஞ்ச|
And he called the crowd to himself again, and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand.
15 பா³ஹ்யாத³ந்தரம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய நரமமேத்⁴யம்’ கர்த்தாம்’ ஸ²க்நோதி ஈத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ கிமபி வஸ்து நாஸ்தி, வரம் அந்தராத்³ ப³ஹிர்க³தம்’ யத்³வஸ்து தந்மநுஜம் அமேத்⁴யம்’ கரோதி|
There is nothing from outside of the person, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the person are what defile the person."
16 யஸ்ய ஸ்²ரோதும்’ ஸ்²ரோத்ரே ஸ்த: ஸ ஸ்²ரு’ணோது|
17 தத: ஸ லோகாந் ஹித்வா க்³ரு’ஹமத்⁴யம்’ ப்ரவிஷ்டஸ்ததா³ ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தத்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தவாக்யார்த²ம்’ பப்ரச்சு²: |
When he had entered into a house away from the crowd, his disciples asked him about the parable.
18 தஸ்மாத் ஸ தாந் ஜகா³த³ யூயமபி கிமேதாத்³ரு’க³போ³தா⁴: ? கிமபி த்³ரவ்யம்’ பா³ஹ்யாத³ந்தரம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய நரமமேத்⁴யம்’ கர்த்தாம்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி கதா²மிமாம்’ கிம்’ ந பு³த்⁴யத்⁴வே?
He said to them, "Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever goes into the person from outside cannot defile him,
19 தத் தத³ந்தர்ந ப்ரவிஸ²தி கிந்து குக்ஷிமத்⁴யம்’ ப்ரவிஸ²தி ஸே²ஷே ஸர்வ்வபு⁴க்தவஸ்துக்³ராஹிணி ப³ஹிர்தே³ஸே² நிர்யாதி|
because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, cleansing all the foods?"
20 அபரமப்யவாதீ³த்³ யந்நராந்நிரேதி ததே³வ நரமமேத்⁴யம்’ கரோதி|
He said, "That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
21 யதோ(அ)ந்தராத்³ அர்தா²ந் மாநவாநாம்’ மநோப்⁴ய: குசிந்தா பரஸ்த்ரீவேஸ்²யாக³மநம்’
For from within, out of a person's heart, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,
22 நரவத⁴ஸ்²சௌர்ய்யம்’ லோபோ⁴ து³ஷ்டதா ப்ரவஞ்சநா காமுகதா குத்³ரு’ஷ்டிரீஸ்²வரநிந்தா³ க³ர்வ்வஸ்தம இத்யாதீ³நி நிர்க³ச்ச²ந்தி|
covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
23 ஏதாநி ஸர்வ்வாணி து³ரிதாந்யந்தராதே³த்ய நரமமேத்⁴யம்’ குர்வ்வந்தி|
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."
24 அத² ஸ உத்தா²ய தத்ஸ்தா²நாத் ஸோரஸீதோ³ந்புரப்ரதே³ஸ²ம்’ ஜகா³ம தத்ர கிமபி நிவேஸ²நம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய ஸர்வ்வைரஜ்ஞாத: ஸ்தா²தும்’ மதிஞ்சக்ரே கிந்து கு³ப்த: ஸ்தா²தும்’ ந ஸ²ஸா²க|
From there he arose, and went away into the region of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house, and did not want anyone to know it, but he could not escape notice.
25 யத: ஸுரபை²நிகீதே³ஸீ²யயூநாநீவம்’ஸோ²த்³ப⁴வஸ்த்ரியா: கந்யா பூ⁴தக்³ரஸ்தாஸீத்| ஸா ஸ்த்ரீ தத்³வார்த்தாம்’ ப்ராப்ய தத்ஸமீபமாக³த்ய தச்சரணயோ: பதித்வா
But immediately a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell at his feet.
26 ஸ்வகந்யாதோ பூ⁴தம்’ நிராகர்த்தாம்’ தஸ்மிந் விநயம்’ க்ரு’தவதீ|
Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.
27 கிந்து யீஸு²ஸ்தாமவத³த் ப்ரத²மம்’ பா³லகாஸ்த்ரு’ப்யந்து யதோ பா³லகாநாம்’ கா²த்³யம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா குக்குரேப்⁴யோ நிக்ஷேபோ(அ)நுசித: |
But he said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."
28 ததா³ ஸா ஸ்த்ரீ தமவாதீ³த் போ⁴: ப்ரபோ⁴ தத் ஸத்யம்’ ததா²பி மஞ்சாத⁴: ஸ்தா²: குக்குரா பா³லாநாம்’ கரபதிதாநி கா²த்³யக²ண்டா³நி கா²த³ந்தி|
But she answered him, "Yes, Sir. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs."
29 தத: ஸோ(அ)கத²யத்³ ஏதத்கதா²ஹேதோ: ஸகுஸ²லா யாஹி தவ கந்யாம்’ த்யக்த்வா பூ⁴தோ க³த: |
He said to her, "For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter."
30 அத² ஸா ஸ்த்ரீ க்³ரு’ஹம்’ க³த்வா கந்யாம்’ பூ⁴தத்யக்தாம்’ ஸ²ய்யாஸ்தி²தாம்’ த³த³ர்ஸ²|
And when she went away to her house, she found the child lying on the bed, the demon having left.
31 புநஸ்²ச ஸ ஸோரஸீதோ³ந்புரப்ரதே³ஸா²த் ப்ரஸ்தா²ய தி³காபலிதே³ஸ²ஸ்ய ப்ராந்தரபா⁴கே³ந கா³லீல்ஜலதே⁴: ஸமீபம்’ க³தவாந்|
Again he departed from the borders of Tyre, and came through Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis.
32 ததா³ லோகைரேகம்’ ப³தி⁴ரம்’ கத்³வத³ஞ்ச நரம்’ தந்நிகடமாநீய தஸ்ய கா³த்ரே ஹஸ்தமர்பயிதும்’ விநய: க்ரு’த: |
They brought to him one who was deaf and had a speech difficulty, and they begged Jesus to lay his hand on him.
33 ததோ யீஸு² ர்லோகாரண்யாத் தம்’ நிர்ஜநமாநீய தஸ்ய கர்ணயோங்கு³லீ ர்த³தௌ³ நிஷ்டீ²வம்’ த³த்த்வா ச தஜ்ஜிஹ்வாம்’ பஸ்பர்ஸ²|
He took him aside from the crowd, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue.
34 அநந்தரம்’ ஸ்வர்க³ம்’ நிரீக்ஷ்ய தீ³ர்க⁴ம்’ நிஸ்²வஸ்ய தமவத³த் இதப²த: அர்தா²ந் முக்தோ பூ⁴யாத்|
Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha." that is, "Be opened."
35 ததஸ்தத்க்ஷணம்’ தஸ்ய கர்ணௌ முக்தௌ ஜிஹ்வாயாஸ்²ச ஜாட்³யாபக³மாத் ஸ ஸுஸ்பஷ்டவாக்யமகத²யத்|
And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.
36 அத² ஸ தாந் வாட⁴மித்யாதி³தே³ஸ² யூயமிமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ கஸ்மைசித³பி மா கத²யத, கிந்து ஸ யதி ந்யஷேத⁴த் தே ததி பா³ஹுல்யேந ப்ராசாரயந்;
He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.
37 தே(அ)திசமத்க்ரு’த்ய பரஸ்பரம்’ கத²யாமாஸு: ஸ ப³தி⁴ராய ஸ்²ரவணஸ²க்திம்’ மூகாய ச கத²நஸ²க்திம்’ த³த்த்வா ஸர்வ்வம்’ கர்ம்மோத்தமரூபேண சகார|
They were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak."
