1 அநந்தரம்’ யீஸு² ர்த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தேந தேப்⁴ய: கத²யிதுமாரேபே⁴, கஸ்²சிதே³கோ த்³ராக்ஷாக்ஷேத்ரம்’ விதா⁴ய தச்சதுர்தி³க்ஷு வாரணீம்’ க்ரு’த்வா தந்மத்⁴யே த்³ராக்ஷாபேஷணகுண்ட³ம் அக²நத், ததா² தஸ்ய க³ட³மபி நிர்ம்மிதவாந் ததஸ்தத்க்ஷேத்ரம்’ க்ரு’ஷீவலேஷு ஸமர்ப்ய தூ³ரதே³ஸ²ம்’ ஜகா³ம|
And he began to speak unto them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a pit for the winepress, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.
2 தத³நந்தரம்’ ப²லகாலே க்ரு’ஷீவலேப்⁴யோ த்³ராக்ஷாக்ஷேத்ரப²லாநி ப்ராப்தும்’ தேஷாம்’ ஸவிதே⁴ ப்⁴ரு’த்யம் ஏகம்’ ப்ராஹிணோத்|
And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruits of the vineyard.
3 கிந்து க்ரு’ஷீவலாஸ்தம்’ த்⁴ரு’த்வா ப்ரஹ்ரு’த்ய ரிக்தஹஸ்தம்’ விஸஸ்ரு’ஜு: |
And they took him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.
4 தத: ஸ புநரந்யமேகம்’ ப்⁴ரு’த்யம்’ ப்ரஷயாமாஸ, கிந்து தே க்ரு’ஷீவலா: பாஷாணாகா⁴தைஸ்தஸ்ய ஸி²ரோ ப⁴ங்க்த்வா ஸாபமாநம்’ தம்’ வ்யஸர்ஜந்|
And again he sent unto them another servant; and him they wounded in the head, and handled shamefully.
5 தத: பரம்’ ஸோபரம்’ தா³ஸம்’ ப்ராஹிணோத் ததா³ தே தம்’ ஜக்⁴நு: , ஏவம் அநேகேஷாம்’ கஸ்யசித் ப்ரஹார: கஸ்யசித்³ வத⁴ஸ்²ச தை: க்ரு’த: |
And he sent another; and him they killed: and many others; beating some, and killing some.
6 தத: பரம்’ மயா ஸ்வபுத்ரே ப்ரஹிதே தே தமவஸ்²யம்’ ஸம்மம்’ஸ்யந்தே, இத்யுக்த்வாவஸே²ஷே தேஷாம்’ ஸந்நிதௌ⁴ நிஜப்ரியம் அத்³விதீயம்’ புத்ரம்’ ப்ரேஷயாமாஸ|
He had yet one, a beloved son: he sent him last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.
7 கிந்து க்ரு’ஷீவலா: பரஸ்பரம்’ ஜக³து³: , ஏஷ உத்தராதி⁴காரீ, ஆக³ச்ச²த வயமேநம்’ ஹந்மஸ்ததா² க்ரு’தே (அ)தி⁴காரோயம் அஸ்மாகம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.
8 ததஸ்தம்’ த்⁴ரு’த்வா ஹத்வா த்³ராக்ஷாக்ஷேத்ராத்³ ப³ஹி: ப்ராக்ஷிபந்|
And they took him, and killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard.
9 அநேநாஸௌ த்³ராக்ஷாக்ஷேத்ரபதி: கிம்’ கரிஷ்யதி? ஸ ஏத்ய தாந் க்ரு’ஷீவலாந் ஸம்’ஹத்ய தத்க்ஷேத்ரம் அந்யேஷு க்ரு’ஷீவலேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதி|
What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10 அபரஞ்ச, "ஸ்த²பதய: கரிஷ்யந்தி க்³ராவாணம்’ யந்து துச்ச²கம்’| ப்ராதா⁴நப்ரஸ்தர: கோணே ஸ ஏவ ஸம்’ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
Have ye not read even this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner:
11 ஏதத் கர்ம்ம பரேஸ²ஸ்யாம்’த்³பு⁴தம்’ நோ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிதோ ப⁴வேத்|| " இமாம்’ ஸா²ஸ்த்ரீயாம்’ லிபிம்’ யூயம்’ கிம்’ நாபாடி²ஷ்ட?
This was from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes?
12 ததா³நீம்’ ஸ தாநுத்³தி³ஸ்²ய தாம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தகதா²ம்’ கதி²தவாந், த இத்த²ம்’ பு³த்³வ்வா தம்’ த⁴ர்த்தாமுத்³யதா: , கிந்து லோகேப்⁴யோ பி³ப்⁴யு: , தத³நந்தரம்’ தே தம்’ விஹாய வவ்ரஜு: |
And they sought to lay hold on him; and they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spake the parable against them: and they left him, and went away.
13 அபரஞ்ச தே தஸ்ய வாக்யதோ³ஷம்’ த⁴ர்த்தாம்’ கதிபயாந் பி²ரூஸி²நோ ஹேரோதீ³யாம்’ஸ்²ச லோகாந் தத³ந்திகம்’ ப்ரேஷயாமாஸு: |
And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might catch him in talk.
14 த ஆக³த்ய தமவத³ந், ஹே கு³ரோ ப⁴வாந் தத்²யபா⁴ஷீ கஸ்யாப்யநுரோத⁴ம்’ ந மந்யதே, பக்ஷபாதஞ்ச ந கரோதி, யதா²ர்த²த ஈஸ்²வரீயம்’ மார்க³ம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யதி வயமேதத் ப்ரஜாநீம: , கைஸராய கரோ தே³யோ ந வாம்’? வயம்’ தா³ஸ்யாமோ ந வா?
And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest not for any one: for thou regardest not the person of men, but of a truth teachest the way of God: Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
15 கிந்து ஸ தேஷாம்’ கபடம்’ ஜ்ஞாத்வா ஜகா³த³, குதோ மாம்’ பரீக்ஷத்⁴வே? ஏகம்’ முத்³ராபாத³ம்’ ஸமாநீய மாம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யத|
Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16 ததா³ தைரேகஸ்மிந் முத்³ராபாதே³ ஸமாநீதே ஸ தாந் பப்ரச்ச², அத்ர லிகி²தம்’ நாம மூர்த்தி ர்வா கஸ்ய? தே ப்ரத்யூசு: , கைஸரஸ்ய|
And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar’s.
17 ததா³ யீஸு²ரவத³த் தர்ஹி கைஸரஸ்ய த்³ரவ்யாணி கைஸராய த³த்த, ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய த்³ரவ்யாணி து ஈஸ்²வராய த³த்த; ததஸ்தே விஸ்மயம்’ மேநிரே|
And Jesus said unto them, Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s. And they marveled greatly at him.
18 அத² ம்ரு’தாநாமுத்தா²நம்’ யே ந மந்யந்தே தே ஸிதூ³கிநோ யீஸோ²: ஸமீபமாக³த்ய தம்’ பப்ரச்சு²: ;
And there come unto him Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,
19 ஹே கு³ரோ கஸ்²சிஜ்ஜநோ யதி³ நி: ஸந்ததி: ஸந் பா⁴ர்ய்யாயாம்’ ஸத்யாம்’ ம்ரியதே தர்ஹி தஸ்ய ப்⁴ராதா தஸ்ய பா⁴ர்ய்யாம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா ப்⁴ராது ர்வம்’ஸோ²த்பத்திம்’ கரிஷ்யதி, வ்யவஸ்தா²மிமாம்’ மூஸா அஸ்மாந் ப்ரதி வ்யலிக²த்|
Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man’s brother die, and leave a wife behind him, and leave no child, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
20 கிந்து கேசித் ஸப்த ப்⁴ராதர ஆஸந், ததஸ்தேஷாம்’ ஜ்யேஷ்ட²ப்⁴ராதா விவஹ்ய நி: ஸந்ததி: ஸந் அம்ரியத|
There were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed;
21 ததோ த்³விதீயோ ப்⁴ராதா தாம்’ ஸ்த்ரியமக்³ரு’ஹணத் கிந்து ஸோபி நி: ஸந்ததி: ஸந் அம்ரியத; அத² த்ரு’தீயோபி ப்⁴ராதா தாத்³ரு’ஸோ²ப⁴வத்|
and the second took her, and died, leaving no seed behind him; and the third likewise:
22 இத்த²ம்’ ஸப்தைவ ப்⁴ராதரஸ்தாம்’ ஸ்த்ரியம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா நி: ஸந்தாநா: ஸந்தோ(அ)ம்ரியந்த, ஸர்வ்வஸே²ஷே ஸாபி ஸ்த்ரீ ம்ரியதே ஸ்ம|
and the seven left no seed. Last of all the woman also died.
23 அத² ம்ரு’தாநாமுத்தா²நகாலே யதா³ த உத்தா²ஸ்யந்தி ததா³ தேஷாம்’ கஸ்ய பா⁴ர்ய்யா ஸா ப⁴விஷ்யதி? யதஸ்தே ஸப்தைவ தாம்’ வ்யவஹந்|
In the resurrection whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.
24 ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச ஸா²ஸ்த்ரம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ²க்திஞ்ச யூயமஜ்ஞாத்வா கிமப்⁴ராம்யத ந?
Jesus said unto them, Is it not for this cause that ye err, that ye know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
25 ம்ரு’தலோகாநாமுத்தா²நம்’ ஸதி தே ந விவஹந்தி வாக்³த³த்தா அபி ந ப⁴வந்தி, கிந்து ஸ்வர்கீ³யதூ³தாநாம்’ ஸத்³ரு’ஸா² ப⁴வந்தி|
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as angels in heaven.
26 புநஸ்²ச "அஹம் இப்³ராஹீம ஈஸ்²வர இஸ்ஹாக ஈஸ்²வரோ யாகூப³ஸ்²சேஸ்²வர:" யாமிமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ஸ்தம்ப³மத்⁴யே திஷ்ட²ந் ஈஸ்²வரோ மூஸாமவாதீ³த் ம்ரு’தாநாமுத்தா²நார்தே² ஸா கதா² மூஸாலிகி²தே புஸ்தகே கிம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்நாபாடி²?
But as touching the dead, that they are raised; have ye not read in the book of Moses, in [the place concerning] the Bush, how God spake unto him, saying, I [am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
27 ஈஸ்²வரோ ஜீவதாம்’ ப்ரபு⁴: கிந்து ம்ரு’தாநாம்’ ப்ரபு⁴ ர்ந ப⁴வதி, தஸ்மாத்³தே⁴தோ ர்யூயம்’ மஹாப்⁴ரமேண திஷ்ட²த²|
He is not the God of the dead, but of the living: ye do greatly err.
28 ஏதர்ஹி ஏகோத்⁴யாபக ஏத்ய தேஷாமித்த²ம்’ விசாரம்’ ஸு²ஸ்²ராவ; யீஸு²ஸ்தேஷாம்’ வாக்யஸ்ய ஸது³த்தரம்’ த³த்தவாந் இதி பு³த்³வ்வா தம்’ ப்ரு’ஷ்டவாந் ஸர்வ்வாஸாம் ஆஜ்ஞாநாம்’ கா ஸ்²ரேஷ்டா²? ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச,
And one of the scribes came, and heard them questioning together, and knowing that he had answered them well, asked him, What commandment is the first of all?
29 "ஹே இஸ்ராயேல்லோகா அவத⁴த்த, அஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபு⁴: பரமேஸ்²வர ஏக ஏவ,
Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one:
30 யூயம்’ ஸர்வ்வந்த: கரணை: ஸர்வ்வப்ராணை: ஸர்வ்வசித்தை: ஸர்வ்வஸ²க்திபி⁴ஸ்²ச தஸ்மிந் ப்ரபௌ⁴ பரமேஸ்²வரே ப்ரீயத்⁴வம்’," இத்யாஜ்ஞா ஸ்²ரேஷ்டா²|
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.
31 ததா² "ஸ்வப்ரதிவாஸிநி ஸ்வவத் ப்ரேம குருத்⁴வம்’," ஏஷா யா த்³விதீயாஜ்ஞா ஸா தாத்³ரு’ஸீ²; ஏதாப்⁴யாம்’ த்³வாப்⁴யாம் ஆஜ்ஞாப்⁴யாம் அந்யா காப்யாஜ்ஞா ஸ்²ரேஷ்டா² நாஸ்தி|
The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
32 ததா³ ஸோத்⁴யாபகஸ்தமவத³த், ஹே கு³ரோ ஸத்யம்’ ப⁴வாந் யதா²ர்த²ம்’ ப்ரோக்தவாந் யத ஏகஸ்மாத்³ ஈஸ்²வராத்³ அந்யோ த்³விதீய ஈஸ்²வரோ நாஸ்தி;
And the scribe said unto him, Of a truth, Master, thou hast well said that he is one; and there is none other but he:
33 அபரம்’ ஸர்வ்வாந்த: கரணை: ஸர்வ்வப்ராணை: ஸர்வ்வசித்தை: ஸர்வ்வஸ²க்திபி⁴ஸ்²ச ஈஸ்²வரே ப்ரேமகரணம்’ ததா² ஸ்வமீபவாஸிநி ஸ்வவத் ப்ரேமகரணஞ்ச ஸர்வ்வேப்⁴யோ ஹோமப³லிதா³நாதி³ப்⁴ய: ஸ்²ரஷ்ட²ம்’ ப⁴வதி|
and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
34 ததோ யீஸு²: ஸுபு³த்³தே⁴ரிவ தஸ்யேத³ம் உத்தரம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா தம்’ பா⁴ஷிதவாந் த்வமீஸ்²வரஸ்ய ராஜ்யாந்ந தூ³ரோஸி| இத: பரம்’ தேந ஸஹ கஸ்யாபி வாக்யஸ்ய விசாரம்’ கர்த்தாம்’ கஸ்யாபி ப்ரக³ல்ப⁴தா ந ஜாதா|
And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
35 அநந்தரம்’ மத்⁴யேமந்தி³ரம் உபதி³ஸ²ந் யீஸு²ரிமம்’ ப்ரஸ்²நம்’ சகார, அத்⁴யாபகா அபி⁴ஷிக்தம்’ (தாரகம்’) குதோ தா³யூத³: ஸந்தாநம்’ வத³ந்தி?
And Jesus answered and said, as he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that the Christ is the son of David?
36 ஸ்வயம்’ தா³யூத்³ பவித்ரஸ்யாத்மந ஆவேஸே²நேத³ம்’ கத²யாமாஸ| யதா²| "மம ப்ரபு⁴மித³ம்’ வாக்யவத³த் பரமேஸ்²வர: | தவ ஸ²த்ரூநஹம்’ யாவத் பாத³பீட²ம்’ கரோமி ந| தாவத் காலம்’ மதீ³யே த்வம்’ த³க்ஷபார்ஸ்²வ் உபாவிஸ²| "
David himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.
37 யதி³ தா³யூத்³ தம்’ ப்ரபூ⁴ம்’ வத³தி தர்ஹி கத²ம்’ ஸ தஸ்ய ஸந்தாநோ ப⁴விதுமர்ஹதி? இதரே லோகாஸ்தத்கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வாநநந்து³: |
David himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he his son? And the common people heard him gladly.
38 ததா³நீம்’ ஸ தாநுபதி³ஸ்²ய கதி²தவாந் யே நரா தீ³ர்க⁴பரிதே⁴யாநி ஹட்டே விபநௌ ச
And in his teaching he said, Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and [to have] salutations in the marketplaces,
39 லோகக்ரு’தநமஸ்காராந் ப⁴ஜநக்³ரு’ஹே ப்ரதா⁴நாஸநாநி போ⁴ஜநகாலே ப்ரதா⁴நஸ்தா²நாநி ச காங்க்ஷந்தே;
and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief places at feasts:
40 வித⁴வாநாம்’ ஸர்வ்வஸ்வம்’ க்³ரஸித்வா ச²லாத்³ தீ³ர்க⁴காலம்’ ப்ரார்த²யந்தே தேப்⁴ய உபாத்⁴யாயேப்⁴ய: ஸாவதா⁴நா ப⁴வத; தே(அ)தி⁴கதராந் த³ண்டா³ந் ப்ராப்ஸ்யந்தி|
they which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers; these shall receive greater condemnation.
41 தத³நந்தரம்’ லோகா பா⁴ண்டா³கா³ரே முத்³ரா யதா² நிக்ஷிபந்தி பா⁴ண்டா³கா³ரஸ்ய ஸம்முகே² ஸமுபவிஸ்²ய யீஸு²ஸ்தத³வலுலோக; ததா³நீம்’ ப³ஹவோ த⁴நிநஸ்தஸ்ய மத்⁴யே ப³ஹூநி த⁴நாநி நிரக்ஷிபந்|
And he sat down over against the treasury, and beheld how the multitude cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 பஸ்²சாத்³ ஏகா த³ரித்³ரா வித⁴வா ஸமாக³த்ய த்³விபணமூல்யாம்’ முத்³ரைகாம்’ தத்ர நிரக்ஷிபத்|
And there came a poor widow, and she cast in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 ததா³ யீஸு²: ஸி²ஷ்யாந் ஆஹூய கதி²தவாந் யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி யே யே பா⁴ண்டா³கா³ரே(அ)ஸ்மிந த⁴நாநி நி: க்ஷிபந்தி ஸ்ம தேப்⁴ய: ஸர்வ்வேப்⁴ய இயம்’ வித⁴வா த³ரித்³ராதி⁴கம் நி: க்ஷிபதி ஸ்ம|
And he called unto him his disciples, and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than all they which are casting into the treasury:
44 யதஸ்தே ப்ரபூ⁴தத⁴நஸ்ய கிஞ்சித் நிரக்ஷிபந் கிந்து தீ³நேயம்’ ஸ்வதி³நயாபநயோக்³யம்’ கிஞ்சித³பி ந ஸ்தா²பயித்வா ஸர்வ்வஸ்வம்’ நிரக்ஷிபத்|
for they all did cast in of their superfluity; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, [even] all her living.
