1 அநந்தரம்’ ஸ தத்ஸ்தா²நாத் ப்ரஸ்தா²ய யர்த்³த³நநத்³யா: பாரே யிஹூதா³ப்ரதே³ஸ² உபஸ்தி²தவாந், தத்ர தத³ந்திகே லோகாநாம்’ ஸமாக³மே ஜாதே ஸ நிஜரீத்யநுஸாரேண புநஸ்தாந் உபதி³தே³ஸ²|
And rising up thence he comes into the coasts of Judaea, and the other side of the Jordan. And again crowds come together to him, and, as he was accustomed, again he taught them.
2 ததா³ பி²ரூஸி²நஸ்தத்ஸமீபம் ஏத்ய தம்’ பரீக்ஷிதும்’ பப்ரச்ச²: ஸ்வஜாயா மநுஜாநாம்’ த்யஜ்யா ந வேதி?
And Pharisees coming to [him] asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away [his] wife? (tempting him).
3 தத: ஸ ப்ரத்யவாதீ³த், அத்ர கார்ய்யே மூஸா யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி கிமாஜ்ஞாபயத்?
But he answering said to them, What did Moses command you?
4 த ஊசு: த்யாக³பத்ரம்’ லேகி²தும்’ ஸ்வபத்நீம்’ த்யக்துஞ்ச மூஸா(அ)நுமந்யதே|
And they said, Moses allowed to write a bill of divorce, and to put away.
5 ததா³ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச, யுஷ்மாகம்’ மநஸாம்’ காடி²ந்யாத்³தே⁴தோ ர்மூஸா நிதே³ஸ²மிமம் அலிக²த்|
And Jesus answering said to them, In view of your hard-heartedness he wrote this commandment for you;
6 கிந்து ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டேராதௌ³ ஈஸ்²வரோ நராந் பும்’ரூபேண ஸ்த்ரீரூபேண ச ஸஸர்ஜ|
but from [the] beginning of [the] creation God made them male and female.
7 "தத: காரணாத் புமாந் பிதரம்’ மாதரஞ்ச த்யக்த்வா ஸ்வஜாயாயாம் ஆஸக்தோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி,
For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be united to his wife,
8 தௌ த்³வாவ் ஏகாங்கௌ³ ப⁴விஷ்யத: | " தஸ்மாத் தத்காலமாரப்⁴ய தௌ ந த்³வாவ் ஏகாங்கௌ³|
and the two shall be one flesh: so that they are no longer two but one flesh.
9 அத: காரணாத்³ ஈஸ்²வரோ யத³யோஜயத் கோபி நரஸ்தந்ந வியேஜயேத்|
What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.
10 அத² யீஸு² ர்க்³ரு’ஹம்’ ப்ரவிஷ்டஸ்ததா³ ஸி²ஷ்யா: புநஸ்தத்கதா²ம்’ தம்’ பப்ரச்சு²: |
And again in the house the disciples asked him concerning this.
11 தத: ஸோவத³த் கஸ்²சித்³ யதி³ ஸ்வபா⁴ர்ய்யாம்’ த்யக்தவாந்யாம் உத்³வஹதி தர்ஹி ஸ ஸ்வபா⁴ர்ய்யாயா: ப்ராதிகூல்யேந வ்யபி⁴சாரீ ப⁴வதி|
And he says to them, Whosoever shall put away his wife and shall marry another, commits adultery against her.
12 காசிந்நாரீ யதி³ ஸ்வபதிம்’ ஹித்வாந்யபும்’ஸா விவாஹிதா ப⁴வதி தர்ஹி ஸாபி வ்யபி⁴சாரிணீ ப⁴வதி|
And if a woman put away her husband and shall marry another, she commits adultery.
13 அத² ஸ யதா² ஸி²ஸூ²ந் ஸ்ப்ரு’ஸே²த், தத³ர்த²ம்’ லோகைஸ்தத³ந்திகம்’ ஸி²ஸ²வ ஆநீயந்த, கிந்து ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தாநாநீதவதஸ்தர்ஜயாமாஸு: |
And they brought little children to him that he might touch them. But the disciples rebuked those that brought [them].
14 யீஸு²ஸ்தத்³ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா க்ருத்⁴யந் ஜகா³த³, மந்நிகடம் ஆக³ந்தும்’ ஸி²ஸூ²ந் மா வாரயத, யத ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸா² ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யாதி⁴காரிண: |
But Jesus seeing [it], was indignant, and said to them, Suffer the little children to come to me; forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வச்மி, ய: கஸ்²சித் ஸி²ஸு²வத்³ பூ⁴த்வா ராஜ்யமீஸ்²வரஸ்ய ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லீயாத் ஸ கதா³பி தத்³ராஜ்யம்’ ப்ரவேஷ்டும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
Verily I say to you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall in no wise enter into it.
16 அநநதரம்’ ஸ ஸி²ஸூ²நங்கே நிதா⁴ய தேஷாம்’ கா³த்ரேஷு ஹஸ்தௌ த³த்த்வாஸி²ஷம்’ ப³பா⁴ஷே|
And having taken them in his arms, having laid his hands on them, he blessed them.
17 அத² ஸ வர்த்மநா யாதி, ஏதர்ஹி ஜந ஏகோ தா⁴வந் ஆக³த்ய தத்ஸம்முகே² ஜாநுநீ பாதயித்வா ப்ரு’ஷ்டவாந், போ⁴: பரமகு³ரோ, அநந்தாயு: ப்ராப்தயே மயா கிம்’ கர்த்தவ்யம்’? (aiōnios g166)
And as he went forth into the way, a person ran up to [him], and kneeling to him asked him, Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
18 ததா³ யீஸு²ருவாச, மாம்’ பரமம்’ குதோ வத³ஸி? விநேஸ்²வரம்’ கோபி பரமோ ந ப⁴வதி|
But Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? no one is good but one, [that is] God.
19 பரஸ்த்ரீம்’ நாபி⁴க³ச்ச²; நரம்’ மா கா⁴தய; ஸ்தேயம்’ மா குரு; ம்ரு’ஷாஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ மா தே³ஹி; ஹிம்’ஸாஞ்ச மா குரு; பிதரௌ ஸம்மந்யஸ்வ; நிதே³ஸா² ஏதே த்வயா ஜ்ஞாதா: |
Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.
20 ததஸ்தந ப்ரத்யுக்தம்’, ஹே கு³ரோ பா³ல்யகாலாத³ஹம்’ ஸர்வ்வாநேதாந் ஆசராமி|
And he answering said to him, Teacher, all these things have I kept from my youth.
21 ததா³ யீஸு²ஸ்தம்’ விலோக்ய ஸ்நேஹேந ப³பா⁴ஷே, தவைகஸ்யாபா⁴வ ஆஸ்தே; த்வம்’ க³த்வா ஸர்வ்வஸ்வம்’ விக்ரீய த³ரித்³ரேப்⁴யோ விஸ்²ராணய, தத: ஸ்வர்கே³ த⁴நம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யஸி; தத: பரம் ஏத்ய க்ருஸ²ம்’ வஹந் மத³நுவர்த்தீ ப⁴வ|
And Jesus looking upon him loved him, and said to him, One thing lackest thou: go, sell whatever thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, [taking up the cross].
22 கிந்து தஸ்ய ப³ஹுஸம்பத்³வித்³யமாநத்வாத் ஸ இமாம்’ கதா²மாகர்ண்ய விஷணோ து³: கி²தஸ்²ச ஸந் ஜகா³ம|
But he, sad at the word, went away grieved, for he had large possessions.
23 அத² யீஸு²ஸ்²சதுர்தி³ஸோ² நிரீக்ஷ்ய ஸி²ஷ்யாந் அவாதீ³த், த⁴நிலோகாநாம் ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யப்ரவேஸ²: கீத்³ரு’க்³ து³ஷ்கர: |
And Jesus looking around says to his disciples, How difficultly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 தஸ்ய கதா²த: ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்²சமச்சக்ரு: , கிந்து ஸ புநரவத³த், ஹே பா³லகா யே த⁴நே விஸ்²வஸந்தி தேஷாம் ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யப்ரவேஸ²: கீத்³ரு’க்³ து³ஷ்கர: |
And the disciples were amazed at his words. And Jesus again answering says to them, Children, how difficult it is that those who trust in riches should enter into the kingdom of God!
25 ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யே த⁴நிநாம்’ ப்ரவேஸா²த் ஸூசிரந்த்⁴ரேண மஹாங்க³ஸ்ய க³மநாக³மநம்’ ஸுகரம்’|
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 ததா³ ஸி²ஷ்யா அதீவ விஸ்மிதா: பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரோசு: , தர்ஹி க: பரித்ராணம்’ ப்ராப்தும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி?
And they were exceedingly astonished, saying to one another, And who can be saved?
27 ததோ யீஸு²ஸ்தாந் விலோக்ய ப³பா⁴ஷே, தந் நரஸ்யாஸாத்⁴யம்’ கிந்து நேஸ்²வரஸ்ய, யதோ ஹேதோரீஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸர்வ்வம்’ ஸாத்⁴யம்|
But Jesus looking on them says, With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.
28 ததா³ பிதர உவாச, பஸ்²ய வயம்’ ஸர்வ்வம்’ பரித்யஜ்ய ப⁴வதோநுகா³மிநோ ஜாதா: |
Peter began to say to him, Behold, we have left all things and have followed thee.
29 ததோ யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யவத³த், யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, மத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸுஸம்’வாதா³ர்த²ம்’ வா யோ ஜந: ஸத³நம்’ ப்⁴ராதரம்’ ப⁴கி³நீம்’ பிதரம்’ மாதரம்’ ஜாயாம்’ ஸந்தாநாந் பூ⁴மி வா த்யக்த்வா
Jesus answering said, Verily I say to you, There is no one who has left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, [or wife], or children, or lands, for my sake and for the sake of the gospel,
31 கிந்த்வக்³ரீயா அநேகே லோகா: ஸே²ஷா: , ஸே²ஷீயா அநேகே லோகாஸ்²சாக்³ரா ப⁴விஷ்யந்தி|
But many first shall be last, and the last first.
32 அத² யிரூஸா²லம்யாநகாலே யீஸு²ஸ்தேஷாம் அக்³ரகா³மீ ப³பூ⁴வ, தஸ்மாத்தே சித்ரம்’ ஜ்ஞாத்வா பஸ்²சாத்³கா³மிநோ பூ⁴த்வா பி³ப்⁴யு: | ததா³ ஸ புந ர்த்³வாத³ஸ²ஸி²ஷ்யாந் க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா ஸ்வீயம்’ யத்³யத்³ க⁴டிஷ்யதே தத்தத் தேப்⁴ய: கத²யிதும்’ ப்ராரேபே⁴;
And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on before them; and they were amazed, and were afraid as they followed. And taking the twelve again to [him], he began to tell them what was going to happen to him:
33 பஸ்²யத வயம்’ யிரூஸா²லம்புரம்’ யாம: , தத்ர மநுஷ்யபுத்ர: ப்ரதா⁴நயாஜகாநாம் உபாத்⁴யாயாநாஞ்ச கரேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதே; தே ச வத⁴த³ண்டா³ஜ்ஞாம்’ தா³பயித்வா பரதே³ஸீ²யாநாம்’ கரேஷு தம்’ ஸமர்பயிஷ்யந்தி|
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be delivered up to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him up to the nations:
34 தே தமுபஹஸ்ய கஸ²யா ப்ரஹ்ரு’த்ய தத்³வபுஷி நிஷ்டீ²வம்’ நிக்ஷிப்ய தம்’ ஹநிஷ்யந்தி, தத: ஸ த்ரு’தீயதி³நே ப்ரோத்தா²ஸ்யதி|
and they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him; and after three days he shall rise again.
35 தத: ஸிவதே³: புத்ரௌ யாகூப்³யோஹநௌ தத³ந்திகம் ஏத்ய ப்ரோசது: , ஹே கு³ரோ யத்³ ஆவாப்⁴யாம்’ யாசிஷ்யதே தத³ஸ்மத³ர்த²ம்’ ப⁴வாந் கரோது நிவேத³நமித³மாவயோ: |
And there come to him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying [to him], Teacher, we would that whatsoever we may ask thee, thou wouldst do it for us.
36 தத: ஸ கதி²தவாந், யுவாம்’ கிமிச்ச²த²: ? கிம்’ மயா யுஷ்மத³ர்த²ம்’ கரணீயம்’?
And he said to them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37 ததா³ தௌ ப்ரோசது: , ஆவயோரேகம்’ த³க்ஷிணபார்ஸ்²வே வாமபார்ஸ்²வே சைகம்’ தவைஸ்²வர்ய்யபதே³ ஸமுபவேஷ்டும் ஆஜ்ஞாபய|
And they said to him, Give to us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38 கிந்து யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச யுவாமஜ்ஞாத்வேத³ம்’ ப்ரார்த²யேதே², யேந கம்’ஸேநாஹம்’ பாஸ்யாமி தேந யுவாப்⁴யாம்’ கிம்’ பாதும்’ ஸ²க்ஷ்யதே? யஸ்மிந் மஜ்ஜநேநாஹம்’ மஜ்ஜிஷ்யே தந்மஜ்ஜநே மஜ்ஜயிதும்’ கிம்’ யுவாப்⁴யாம்’ ஸ²க்ஷ்யதே? தௌ ப்ரத்யூசது: ஸ²க்ஷ்யதே|
And Jesus said to them, Ye do not know what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup which I drink, or be baptised with the baptism that I am baptised with?
39 ததா³ யீஸு²ரவத³த் யேந கம்’ஸேநாஹம்’ பாஸ்யாமி தேநாவஸ்²யம்’ யுவாமபி பாஸ்யத²: , யேந மஜ்ஜநேந சாஹம்’ மஜ்ஜிய்யே தத்ர யுவாமபி மஜ்ஜிஷ்யேதே²|
And they said to him, We are able. And Jesus said to them, The cup that I drink ye will drink and with the baptism that I am baptised with ye will be baptised,
40 கிந்து யேஷாமர்த²ம் இத³ம்’ நிரூபிதம்’, தாந் விஹாயாந்யம்’ கமபி மம த³க்ஷிணபார்ஸ்²வே வாமபார்ஸ்²வே வா ஸமுபவேஸ²யிதும்’ மமாதி⁴காரோ நாஸ்தி|
but to sit on my right hand or on my left is not mine to give, but for those for whom it is prepared.
41 அதா²ந்யத³ஸ²ஸி²ஷ்யா இமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா யாகூப்³யோஹந்ப்⁴யாம்’ சுகுபு: |
And the ten having heard [of it], began to be indignant about James and John.
42 கிந்து யீஸு²ஸ்தாந் ஸமாஹூய ப³பா⁴ஷே, அந்யதே³ஸீ²யாநாம்’ ராஜத்வம்’ யே குர்வ்வந்தி தே தேஷாமேவ ப்ரபு⁴த்வம்’ குர்வ்வந்தி, ததா² யே மஹாலோகாஸ்தே தேஷாம் அதி⁴பதித்வம்’ குர்வ்வந்தீதி யூயம்’ ஜாநீத²|
But Jesus having called them to [him], says to them, Ye know that those who are esteemed to rule over the nations exercise lordship over them; and their great men exercise authority over them;
43 கிந்து யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யே ந ததா² ப⁴விஷ்யதி, யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யே ய: ப்ராதா⁴ந்யம்’ வாஞ்ச²தி ஸ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸேவகோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி,
but it is not thus among you; but whosoever would be great among you, shall be your minister;
44 யுஷ்மாகம்’ யோ மஹாந் ப⁴விதுமிச்ச²தி ஸ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ கிங்கரோ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
and whosoever would be first of you shall be bondman of all.
45 யதோ மநுஷ்யபுத்ர: ஸேவ்யோ ப⁴விதும்’ நாக³த: ஸேவாம்’ கர்த்தாம்’ ததா²நேகேஷாம்’ பரித்ராணஸ்ய மூல்யரூபஸ்வப்ராணம்’ தா³துஞ்சாக³த: |
For also the Son of man did not come to be ministered to, but to minister, and give his life a ransom for many.
46 அத² தே யிரீஹோநக³ரம்’ ப்ராப்தாஸ்தஸ்மாத் ஸி²ஷ்யை ர்லோகைஸ்²ச ஸஹ யீஸோ² ர்க³மநகாலே டீமயஸ்ய புத்ரோ ப³ர்டீமயநாமா அந்த⁴ஸ்தந்மார்க³பார்ஸ்²வே பி⁴க்ஷார்த²ம் உபவிஷ்ட: |
And they come to Jericho, and as he was going out from Jericho, and his disciples and a large crowd, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, the blind [man], sat by the wayside begging.
47 ஸ நாஸரதீயஸ்ய யீஸோ²ராக³மநவார்த்தாம்’ ப்ராப்ய ப்ரோசை ர்வக்துமாரேபே⁴, ஹே யீஸோ² தா³யூத³: ஸந்தாந மாம்’ த³யஸ்வ|
And having heard that it was Jesus the Nazaraean, he began to cry out and to say, O Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me.
48 ததோநேகே லோகா மௌநீப⁴வேதி தம்’ தர்ஜயாமாஸு: , கிந்து ஸ புநரதி⁴கமுச்சை ர்ஜகா³த³, ஹே யீஸோ² தா³யூத³: ஸந்தாந மாம்’ த³யஸ்வ|
And many rebuked him, that he might be silent; but he cried so much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me.
49 ததா³ யீஸு²: ஸ்தி²த்வா தமாஹ்வாதும்’ ஸமாதி³தே³ஸ², ததோ லோகாஸ்தமந்த⁴மாஹூய ப³பா⁴ஷிரே, ஹே நர, ஸ்தி²ரோ ப⁴வ, உத்திஷ்ட², ஸ த்வாமாஹ்வயதி|
And Jesus, standing still, desired him to be called. And they call the blind [man], saying to him, Be of good courage, rise up, he calls thee.
50 ததா³ ஸ உத்தரீயவஸ்த்ரம்’ நிக்ஷிப்ய ப்ரோத்தா²ய யீஸோ²: ஸமீபம்’ க³த: |
And, throwing away his garment, he started up and came to Jesus.
51 ததோ யீஸு²ஸ்தமவத³த் த்வயா கிம்’ ப்ரார்த்²யதே? துப்⁴யமஹம்’ கிம்’ கரிஷ்யாமீ? ததா³ ஸோந்த⁴ஸ்தமுவாச, ஹே கு³ரோ மதீ³யா த்³ரு’ஷ்டிர்ப⁴வேத்|
And Jesus answering says to him, What wilt thou that I shall do to thee? And the blind [man] said to him, Rabboni, that I may see.
52 ததோ யீஸு²ஸ்தமுவாச யாஹி தவ விஸ்²வாஸஸ்த்வாம்’ ஸ்வஸ்த²மகார்ஷீத், தஸ்மாத் தத்க்ஷணம்’ ஸ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ ப்ராப்ய பதா² யீஸோ²: பஸ்²சாத்³ யயௌ|
And Jesus said to him, Go, thy faith has healed thee. And he saw immediately, and followed him in the way.
