யோஹந​: 5

1 தத​: பரம்’ யிஹூதீ³யாநாம் உத்ஸவ உபஸ்தி²தே யீஸு² ர்யிரூஸா²லமம்’ க³தவாந்|

After these things was a festival day of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 தஸ்மிந்நக³ரே மேஷநாம்நோ த்³வாரஸ்ய ஸமீபே இப்³ரீயபா⁴ஷயா பை³தே²ஸ்தா³ நாம்நா பிஷ்கரிணீ பஞ்சக⁴ட்டயுக்தாஸீத்|

Now there is at Jerusalem a pond, called Probatica, which in Hebrew is named Bethsaida, having five porches.

3 தஸ்யாஸ்தேஷு க⁴ட்டேஷு கிலாலகம்பநம் அபேக்ஷ்ய அந்த⁴க²ஞ்சஸு²ஷ்காங்கா³த³யோ ப³ஹவோ ரோகி³ண​: பதந்தஸ்திஷ்ட²ந்தி ஸ்ம|

In these lay a great multitude of sick, of blind, of lame, of withered; waiting for the moving of the water.

4 யதோ விஸே²ஷகாலே தஸ்ய ஸரஸோ வாரி ஸ்வர்கீ³யதூ³த ஏத்யாகம்பயத் தத்கீலாலகம்பநாத் பரம்’ ய​: கஸ்²சித்³ ரோகீ³ ப்ரத²மம்’ பாநீயமவாரோஹத் ஸ ஏவ தத்க்ஷணாத்³ ரோக³முக்தோ(அ)ப⁴வத்|

And an angel of the Lord descended at certain times into the pond; and the water was moved. And he that went down first into the pond after the motion of the water, was made whole, of whatsoever infirmity he lay under.

5 ததா³ஷ்டாத்ரிம்’ஸ²த்³வர்ஷாணி யாவத்³ ரோக³க்³ரஸ்த ஏகஜநஸ்தஸ்மிந் ஸ்தா²நே ஸ்தி²தவாந்|

And there was a certain man there, that had been eight and thirty years under his infirmity.

6 யீஸு²ஸ்தம்’ ஸ²யிதம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ப³ஹுகாலிகரோகீ³தி ஜ்ஞாத்வா வ்யாஹ்ரு’தவாந் த்வம்’ கிம்’ ஸ்வஸ்தோ² பு³பூ⁴ஷஸி?

Him when Jesus had seen lying, and knew that he had been now a long time, he saith to him: Wilt thou be made whole?

7 ததோ ரோகீ³ கதி²தவாந் ஹே மஹேச்ச² யதா³ கீலாலம்’ கம்பதே ததா³ மாம்’ புஷ்கரிணீம் அவரோஹயிதும்’ மம கோபி நாஸ்தி, தஸ்மாந் மம க³மநகாலே கஸ்²சித³ந்யோ(அ)க்³ரோ க³த்வா அவரோஹதி|

The infirm man answered him: Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pond. For whilst I am coming, another goeth down before me.

8 ததா³ யீஸு²ரகத²யத்³ உத்திஷ்ட², தவ ஸ²ய்யாமுத்தோல்ய க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா யாஹி|

Jesus saith to him: Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.

9 ஸ தத்க்ஷணாத் ஸ்வஸ்தோ² பூ⁴த்வா ஸ²ய்யாமுத்தோல்யாதா³ய க³தவாந் கிந்து தத்³தி³நம்’ விஸ்²ராமவார​: |

And immediately the man was made whole: and he took up his bed, and walked. And it was the sabbath that day.

10 தஸ்மாத்³ யிஹூதீ³யா​: ஸ்வஸ்த²ம்’ நரம்’ வ்யாஹரந் அத்³ய விஸ்²ராமவாரே ஸ²யநீயமாதா³ய ந யாதவ்யம்|

The Jews therefore said to him that was healed: It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for thee to take up thy bed.

11 தத​: ஸ ப்ரத்யவோசத்³ யோ மாம்’ ஸ்வஸ்த²ம் அகார்ஷீத் ஸ²யநீயம் உத்தோல்யாதா³ய யாதும்’ மாம்’ ஸ ஏவாதி³ஸ²த்|

He answered them: He that made me whole, he said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

12 ததா³ தே(அ)ப்ரு’ச்ச²ந் ஸ²யநீயம் உத்தோல்யாதா³ய யாதும்’ ய ஆஜ்ஞாபயத் ஸ க​: ?

They asked him therefore: Who is that man who said to thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

13 கிந்து ஸ க இதி ஸ்வஸ்தீ²பூ⁴தோ நாஜாநாத்³ யதஸ்தஸ்மிந் ஸ்தா²நே ஜநதாஸத்த்வாத்³ யீஸு²​: ஸ்தா²நாந்தரம் ஆக³மத்|

But he who was healed, knew not who it was; for Jesus went aside from the multitude standing in the place.

14 தத​: பரம்’ யேஸு² ர்மந்தி³ரே தம்’ நரம்’ ஸாக்ஷாத்ப்ராப்யாகத²யத் பஸ்²யேதா³நீம் அநாமயோ ஜாதோஸி யதா²தி⁴கா து³ர்த³ஸா² ந க⁴டதே தத்³தே⁴தோ​: பாபம்’ கர்ம்ம புநர்மாகார்ஷீ​: |

Afterwards, Jesus findeth him in the temple, and saith to him: Behold thou art made whole: sin no more, lest some worse thing happen to thee.

15 தத​: ஸ க³த்வா யிஹூதீ³யாந் அவத³த்³ யீஸு² ர்மாம் அரோகி³ணம் அகார்ஷீத்|

The man went his way, and told the Jews, that it was Jesus who had made him whole.

16 ததோ யீஸு² ர்விஸ்²ராமவாரே கர்ம்மேத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ க்ரு’தவாந் இதி ஹேதோ ர்யிஹூதீ³யாஸ்தம்’ தாட³யித்வா ஹந்தும் அசேஷ்டந்த|

Therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath.

17 யீஸு²ஸ்தாநாக்²யத் மம பிதா யத் கார்ய்யம்’ கரோதி தத³நுரூபம் அஹமபி கரோதி|

But Jesus answered them: My Father worketh until now; and I work.

18 ததோ யிஹூதீ³யாஸ்தம்’ ஹந்தும்’ புநரயதந்த யதோ விஸ்²ராமவாரம்’ நாமந்யத ததே³வ கேவலம்’ ந அதி⁴கந்து ஈஸ்²வரம்’ ஸ்வபிதரம்’ ப்ரோச்ய ஸ்வமபீஸ்²வரதுல்யம்’ க்ரு’தவாந்|

Hereupon therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he did not only break the sabbath, but also said God was his Father, making himself equal to God.

19 பஸ்²சாத்³ யீஸு²ரவத³த்³ யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²தரம்’ வதா³மி புத்ர​: பிதரம்’ யத்³யத் கர்ம்ம குர்வ்வந்தம்’ பஸ்²யதி தத³திரிக்தம்’ ஸ்வேச்சா²த​: கிமபி கர்ம்ம கர்த்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி| பிதா யத் கரோதி புத்ரோபி ததே³வ கரோதி|

Then Jesus answered, and said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you, the Son cannot do any thing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doth, these the Son also doth in like manner.

20 பிதா புத்ரே ஸ்நேஹம்’ கரோதி தஸ்மாத் ஸ்வயம்’ யத்³யத் கர்ம்ம கரோதி தத்ஸர்வ்வம்’ புத்ரம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யதி; யதா² ச யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யஜ்ஞாநம்’ ஜநிஷ்யதே தத³ர்த²ம் இதோபி மஹாகர்ம்ம தம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யிஷ்யதி|

For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things which himself doth: and greater works than these will he shew him, that you may wonder.

21 வஸ்துதஸ்து பிதா யதா² ப்ரமிதாந் உத்தா²ப்ய ஸஜிவாந் கரோதி தத்³வத் புத்ரோபி யம்’ யம்’ இச்ச²தி தம்’ தம்’ ஸஜீவம்’ கரோதி|

For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and giveth life: so the Son also giveth life to whom he will.

22 ஸர்வ்வே பிதரம்’ யதா² ஸத்குர்வ்வந்தி ததா² புத்ரமபி ஸத்காரயிதும்’ பிதா ஸ்வயம்’ கஸ்யாபி விசாரமக்ரு’த்வா ஸர்வ்வவிசாராணாம்’ பா⁴ரம்’ புத்ரே ஸமர்பிதவாந்|

For neither doth the Father judge any man, but hath given all judgment to the Son.

23 ய​: புத்ரம்’ ஸத் கரோதி ஸ தஸ்ய ப்ரேரகமபி ஸத் கரோதி|

That all men may honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father, who hath sent him.

24 யுஷ்மாநாஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²தரம்’ வதா³மி யோ ஜநோ மம வாக்யம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா மத்ப்ரேரகே விஸ்²வஸிதி ஸோநந்தாயு​: ப்ராப்நோதி கதா³பி த³ண்ட³பா³ஜநம்’ ந ப⁴வதி நித⁴நாது³த்தா²ய பரமாயு​: ப்ராப்நோதி| (aiōnios g166)

Amen, amen I say unto you, that he who heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath life everlasting; and cometh not into judgment, but is passed from death to life. (aiōnios g166)

25 அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாநதியதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி யதா³ ம்ரு’தா ஈஸ்²வரபுத்ரஸ்ய நிநாத³ம்’ ஸ்²ரோஷ்யந்தி யே ச ஸ்²ரோஷ்யந்தி தே ஸஜீவா ப⁴விஷ்யந்தி ஸமய ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ² ஆயாதி வரம் இதா³நீமப்யுபதிஷ்ட²தி|

Amen, amen I say unto you, that the hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live.

26 பிதா யதா² ஸ்வயஞ்ஜீவீ ததா² புத்ராய ஸ்வயஞ்ஜீவித்வாதி⁴காரம்’ த³த்தவாந்|

For as the Father hath life in himself, so he hath given the Son also to have life in himself:

27 ஸ மநுஷ்யபுத்ர​: ஏதஸ்மாத் காரணாத் பிதா த³ண்ட³கரணாதி⁴காரமபி தஸ்மிந் ஸமர்பிதவாந்|

And he hath given him power to do judgment, because he is the Son of man.

28 ஏதத³ர்தே² யூயம் ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யம்’ ந மந்யத்⁴வம்’ யதோ யஸ்மிந் ஸமயே தஸ்ய நிநாத³ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா ஸ்²மஸா²நஸ்தா²​: ஸர்வ்வே ப³ஹிராக³மிஷ்யந்தி ஸமய ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ² உபஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி|

Wonder not at this; for the hour cometh, wherein all that are in the graves shall hear the voice of the Son of God.

29 தஸ்மாத்³ யே ஸத்கர்ம்மாணி க்ரு’தவந்தஸ்த உத்தா²ய ஆயு​: ப்ராப்ஸ்யந்தி யே ச குகர்மாணி க்ரு’தவந்தஸ்த உத்தா²ய த³ண்ட³ம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யந்தி|

And they that have done good things, shall come forth unto the resurrection of life; but they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

30 அஹம்’ ஸ்வயம்’ கிமபி கர்த்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோமி யதா² ஸு²ணோமி ததா² விசாரயாமி மம விசாரஞ்ச ந்யாய்ய​: யதோஹம்’ ஸ்வீயாபீ⁴ஷ்டம்’ நேஹித்வா மத்ப்ரேரயிது​: பிதுரிஷ்டம் ஈஹே|

I cannot of myself do any thing. As I hear, so I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

31 யதி³ ஸ்வஸ்மிந் ஸ்வயம்’ ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³தா³மி தர்ஹி தத்ஸாக்ஷ்யம் ஆக்³ராஹ்யம்’ ப⁴வதி;

If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

32 கிந்து மத³ர்தே²(அ)பரோ ஜந​: ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³தா³தி மத³ர்தே² தஸ்ய யத் ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ தத் ஸத்யம் ஏதத³ப்யஹம்’ ஜாநாமி|

There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

33 யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்யோஹநம்’ ப்ரதி லோகேஷு ப்ரேரிதேஷு ஸ ஸத்யகதா²யாம்’ ஸாக்ஷ்யமத³தா³த்|

You sent to John, and he gave testimony to the truth.

34 மாநுஷாத³ஹம்’ ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ நோபேக்ஷே ததா²பி யூயம்’ யதா² பரித்ரயத்⁴வே தத³ர்த²ம் இத³ம்’ வாக்யம்’ வதா³மி|

But I receive not testimony from man: but I say these things, that you may be saved.

35 யோஹந் தே³தீ³ப்யமாநோ தீ³ப இவ தேஜஸ்வீ ஸ்தி²தவாந் யூயம் அல்பகாலம்’ தஸ்ய தீ³ப்த்யாநந்தி³தும்’ ஸமமந்யத்⁴வம்’|

He was a burning and a shining light: and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.

36 கிந்து தத்ப்ரமாணாத³பி மம கு³ருதரம்’ ப்ரமாணம்’ வித்³யதே பிதா மாம்’ ப்ரேஷ்ய யத்³யத் கர்ம்ம ஸமாபயிதும்’ ஸ²க்த்திமத³தா³த் மயா க்ரு’தம்’ தத்தத் கர்ம்ம மத³ர்தே² ப்ரமாணம்’ த³தா³தி|

But I have a greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to perfect; the works themselves, which I do, give testimony of me, that the Father hath sent me.

37 ய​: பிதா மாம்’ ப்ரேரிதவாந் மோபி மத³ர்தே² ப்ரமாணம்’ த³தா³தி| தஸ்ய வாக்யம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴​: கதா³பி ந ஸ்²ருதம்’ தஸ்ய ரூபஞ்ச ந த்³ரு’ஷ்டம்’

And the Father himself who hath sent me, hath given testimony of me: neither have you heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

38 தஸ்ய வாக்யஞ்ச யுஷ்மாகம் அந்த​: கதா³பி ஸ்தா²நம்’ நாப்நோதி யத​: ஸ யம்’ ப்ரேஷிதவாந் யூயம்’ தஸ்மிந் ந விஸ்²வஸித²|

And you have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him you believe not.

39 த⁴ர்ம்மபுஸ்தகாநி யூயம் ஆலோசயத்⁴வம்’ தை ர்வாக்யைரநந்தாயு​: ப்ராப்ஸ்யாம இதி யூயம்’ பு³த்⁴யத்⁴வே தத்³த⁴ர்ம்மபுஸ்தகாநி மத³ர்தே² ப்ரமாணம்’ த³த³தி| (aiōnios g166)

Search the scriptures, for you think in them to have life everlasting; and the same are they that give testimony of me. (aiōnios g166)

40 ததா²பி யூயம்’ பரமாயு​: ப்ராப்தயே மம ஸம்’நிதி⁴ம் ந ஜிக³மிஷத²|

And you will not come to me that you may have life.

41 அஹம்’ மாநுஷேப்⁴ய​: ஸத்காரம்’ ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லாமி|

I receive glory not from men.

42 அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் ஜாநாமி; யுஷ்மாகமந்தர ஈஸ்²வரப்ரேம நாஸ்தி|

But I know you, that you have not the love of God in you.

43 அஹம்’ நிஜபிது ர்நாம்நாக³தோஸ்மி ததா²பி மாம்’ ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லீத² கிந்து கஸ்²சித்³ யதி³ ஸ்வநாம்நா ஸமாக³மிஷ்யதி தர்ஹி தம்’ க்³ரஹீஷ்யத²|

I am come in the name of my Father, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.

44 யூயம் ஈஸ்²வராத் ஸத்காரம்’ ந சிஷ்டத்வா கேவலம்’ பரஸ்பரம்’ ஸத்காரம் சேத்³ ஆத³த்⁴வ்வே தர்ஹி கத²ம்’ விஸ்²வஸிதும்’ ஸ²க்நுத²?

How can you believe, who receive glory one from another: and the glory which is from God alone, you do not seek?

45 புது​: ஸமீபே(அ)ஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் அபவதி³ஷ்யாமீதி மா சிந்தயத யஸ்மிந், யஸ்மிந் யுஷ்மாகம்’ விஸ்²வஸ​: ஸஏவ மூஸா யுஷ்மாந் அபவத³தி|

Think not that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one that accuseth you, Moses, in whom you trust.

46 யதி³ யூயம்’ தஸ்மிந் வ்யஸ்²வஸிஷ்யத தர்ஹி மய்யபி வ்யஸ்²வஸிஷ்யத, யத் ஸ மயி லிகி²தவாந்|

For if you did believe Moses, you would perhaps believe me also; for he wrote of me.

47 ததோ யதி³ தேந லிகி²தவாநி ந ப்ரதித² தர்ஹி மம வாக்யாநி கத²ம்’ ப்ரத்யேஷ்யத²?

But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?
