யாகூப³: 5
1 ஹே த⁴நவந்த: , யூயம் இதா³நீம்’ ஸ்²ரு’ணுத யுஷ்மாபி⁴ராக³மிஷ்யத்க்லேஸ²ஹேதோ: க்ரந்த்³யதாம்’ விலப்யதாஞ்ச|
Go to now, [ye] rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you].
2 யுஷ்மாகம்’ த்³ரவிணம்’ ஜீர்ணம்’ கீடபு⁴க்தா: ஸுசேலகா: |
Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 கநகம்’ ரஜதஞ்சாபி விக்ரு’திம்’ ப்ரக³மிஷ்யதி, தத்கலங்கஸ்²ச யுஷ்மாகம்’ பாபம்’ ப்ரமாணயிஷ்யதி, ஹுதாஸ²வச்ச யுஷ்மாகம்’ பிஸி²தம்’ கா²த³யிஷ்யதி| இத்த²ம் அந்திமக⁴ஸ்ரேஷு யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸஞ்சிதம்’ த⁴நம்’|
Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 பஸ்²யத யை: க்ரு’ஷீவலை ர்யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸ²ஸ்யாநி சி²ந்நாநி தேப்⁴யோ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்யத்³ வேதநம்’ சி²ந்நம்’ தத்³ உச்சை ர்த்⁴வநிம்’ கரோதி தேஷாம்’ ஸ²ஸ்யச்சே²த³காநாம் ஆர்த்தராவ: ஸேநாபதே: பரமேஸ்²வரஸ்ய கர்ணகுஹரம்’ ப்ரவிஷ்ட: |
Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 யூயம்’ ப்ரு’தி²வ்யாம்’ ஸுக²போ⁴க³ம்’ காமுகதாஞ்சாரிதவந்த: , மஹாபோ⁴ஜஸ்ய தி³ந இவ நிஜாந்த: கரணாநி பரிதர்பிதவந்தஸ்²ச|
Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 அபரஞ்ச யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்தா⁴ர்ம்மிகஸ்ய த³ண்டா³ஜ்ஞா ஹத்யா சாகாரி ததா²பி ஸ யுஷ்மாந் ந ப்ரதிருத்³த⁴வாந்|
Ye have condemned [and] killed the just; [and] he doth not resist you.
7 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர: , யூயம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ராக³மநம்’ யாவத்³ தை⁴ர்ய்யமாலம்ப³த்⁴வம்’| பஸ்²யத க்ரு’ஷிவலோ பூ⁴மே ர்ப³ஹுமூல்யம்’ ப²லம்’ ப்ரதீக்ஷமாணோ யாவத் ப்ரத²மம் அந்திமஞ்ச வ்ரு’ஷ்டிஜலம்’ ந ப்ராப்நோதி தாவத்³ தை⁴ர்ய்யம் ஆலம்ப³தே|
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 யூயமபி தை⁴ர்ய்யமாலம்ப்³ய ஸ்வாந்த: கரணாநி ஸ்தி²ரீகுருத, யத: ப்ரபோ⁴ருபஸ்தி²தி: ஸமீபவர்த்திந்யப⁴வத்|
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
9 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர: , யூயம்’ யத்³ த³ண்ட்³யா ந ப⁴வேத தத³ர்த²ம்’ பரஸ்பரம்’ ந க்³லாயத, பஸ்²யத விசாரயிதா த்³வாரஸமீபே திஷ்ட²தி|
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
10 ஹே மம ப்⁴ராதர: , யே ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³ந: ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்நாம்நா பா⁴ஷிதவந்தஸ்தாந் யூயம்’ து³: க²ஸஹநஸ்ய தை⁴ர்ய்யஸ்ய ச த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தாந் ஜாநீத|
Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
11 பஸ்²யத தை⁴ர்ய்யஸீ²லா அஸ்மாபி⁴ ர்த⁴ந்யா உச்யந்தே| ஆயூபோ³ தை⁴ர்ய்யம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரஸ்²ராவி ப்ரபோ⁴: பரிணாமஸ்²சாத³ர்ஸி² யத: ப்ரபு⁴ ர்ப³ஹுக்ரு’ப: ஸகருணஸ்²சாஸ்தி|
Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
12 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர: விஸே²ஷத இத³ம்’ வதா³மி ஸ்வர்க³ஸ்ய வா ப்ரு’தி²வ்யா வாந்யவஸ்துநோ நாம க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா யுஷ்மாபி⁴: கோ(அ)பி ஸ²பதோ² ந க்ரியதாம்’, கிந்து யதா² த³ண்ட்³யா ந ப⁴வத தத³ர்த²ம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ததை²வ தந்நஹி சேதிவாக்யம்’ யதே²ஷ்டம்’ ப⁴வது|
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and [your] nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
13 யுஷ்மாகம்’ கஸ்²சித்³ து³: கீ² ப⁴வதி? ஸ ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ கரோது| கஸ்²சித்³ வாநந்தி³தோ ப⁴வதி? ஸ கீ³தம்’ கா³யது|
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14 யுஷ்மாகம்’ கஸ்²சித் பீடி³தோ (அ)ஸ்தி? ஸ ஸமிதே: ப்ராசீநாந் ஆஹ்வாது தே ச பபோ⁴ ர்நாம்நா தம்’ தைலேநாபி⁴ஷிச்ய தஸ்ய க்ரு’தே ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ குர்வ்வந்து|
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 தஸ்மாத்³ விஸ்²வாஸஜாதப்ரார்த²நயா ஸ ரோகீ³ ரக்ஷாம்’ யாஸ்யதி ப்ரபு⁴ஸ்²ச தம் உத்தா²பயிஷ்யதி யதி³ ச க்ரு’தபாபோ ப⁴வேத் தர்ஹி ஸ தம்’ க்ஷமிஷ்யதே|
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 யூயம்’ பரஸ்பரம் அபராதா⁴ந் அங்கீ³குருத்⁴வம் ஆரோக்³யப்ராப்த்யர்த²ஞ்சைகஜநோ (அ)ந்யஸ்ய க்ரு’தே ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ கரோது தா⁴ர்ம்மிகஸ்ய ஸயத்நா ப்ரார்த²நா ப³ஹுஸ²க்திவிஸி²ஷ்டா ப⁴வதி|
Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 ய ஏலியோ வயமிவ ஸுக²து³: க²போ⁴கீ³ மர்த்த்ய ஆஸீத் ஸ ப்ரார்த²நயாநாவ்ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ யாசிதவாந் தேந தே³ஸே² ஸார்த்³த⁴வத்ஸரத்ரயம்’ யாவத்³ வ்ரு’ஷ்டி ர்ந ப³பூ⁴வ|
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 பஸ்²சாத் தேந புந: ப்ரார்த²நாயாம்’ க்ரு’தாயாம் ஆகாஸ²ஸ்தோயாந்யவர்ஷீத் ப்ரு’தி²வீ ச ஸ்வப²லாநி ப்ராரோஹயத்|
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
19 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர: , யுஷ்மாகம்’ கஸ்மிம்’ஸ்²சித் ஸத்யமதாத்³ ப்⁴ரஷ்டே யதி³ கஸ்²சித் தம்’ பராவர்த்தயதி
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
20 தர்ஹி யோ ஜந: பாபிநம்’ விபத²ப்⁴ரமணாத் பராவர்த்தயதி ஸ தஸ்யாத்மாநம்’ ம்ரு’த்யுத உத்³த⁴ரிஷ்யதி ப³ஹுபாபாந்யாவரிஷ்யதி சேதி ஜாநாது|
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
