இபி²ஷிண​: 5

1 அதோ யூயம்’ ப்ரியபா³லகா இவேஸ்²வரஸ்யாநுகாரிணோ ப⁴வத,

Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;

2 க்²ரீஷ்ட இவ ப்ரேமாசாரம்’ குருத ச, யத​: ஸோ(அ)ஸ்மாஸு ப்ரேம க்ரு’தவாந் அஸ்மாகம்’ விநிமயேந சாத்மநிவேத³நம்’ க்ரு’த்வா க்³ராஹ்யஸுக³ந்தா⁴ர்த²கம் உபஹாரம்’ ப³லிஞ்சேஸ்²வராச த³த்தவாந்|

and walk in love, as Christ also loved you, and gave himself for you an offering and a sacrifice to God, of a sweet odor.

3 கிந்து வேஸ்²யாக³மநம்’ ஸர்வ்வவிதா⁴ஸௌ²சக்ரியா லோப⁴ஸ்²சைதேஷாம் உச்சாரணமபி யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யே ந ப⁴வது, ஏததே³வ பவித்ரலோகாநாம் உசிதம்’|

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints,

4 அபரம்’ குத்ஸிதாலாப​: ப்ரலாப​: ஸ்²லேஷோக்திஸ்²ச ந ப⁴வது யத ஏதாந்யநுசிதாநி கிந்த்வீஸ்²வரஸ்ய த⁴ந்யவாதோ³ ப⁴வது|

neither obscenity, nor foolish talking, nor indecent jesting, which are not becoming; but rather giving of thanks.

5 வேஸ்²யாகா³ம்யஸௌ²சாசாரீ தே³வபூஜக இவ க³ண்யோ லோபீ⁴ சைதேஷாம்’ கோஷி க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ராஜ்யே(அ)ர்த²த ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ராஜ்யே கமப்யதி⁴காரம்’ ந ப்ராப்ஸ்யதீதி யுஷ்மாபி⁴​: ஸம்யக் ஜ்ஞாயதாம்’|

For of this ye are sure, since ye know that no whore-monger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

6 அநர்த²கவாக்யேந கோ(அ)பி யுஷ்மாந் ந வஞ்சயது யதஸ்தாத்³ரு’கா³சாரஹேதோரநாஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹிஷு லோகேஷ்வீஸ்²வரஸ்ய கோபோ வர்த்ததே|

Let no one deceive you with vain words; for because of these things the wrath of God cometh upon the sons of disobedience.

7 தஸ்மாத்³ யூயம்’ தை​: ஸஹபா⁴கி³நோ ந ப⁴வத|

Be not therefore partakers with them.

8 பூர்வ்வம்’ யூயம் அந்த⁴காரஸ்வரூபா ஆத்⁴வம்’ கிந்த்விதா³நீம்’ ப்ரபு⁴நா தீ³ப்திஸ்வரூபா ப⁴வத² தஸ்மாத்³ தீ³ப்தே​: ஸந்தாநா இவ ஸமாசரத|

For ye were once darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,

9 தீ³ப்தே ர்யத் ப²லம்’ தத் ஸர்வ்வவித⁴ஹிதைஷிதாயாம்’ த⁴ர்ம்மே ஸத்யாலாபே ச ப்ரகாஸ²தே|

—for the fruit of the light is in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth, —

10 ப்ரப⁴வே யத்³ ரோசதே தத் பரீக்ஷத்⁴வம்’|

proving what is acceptable to the Lord;

11 யூயம்’ திமிரஸ்ய விப²லகர்ம்மணாம் அம்’ஸி²நோ ந பூ⁴த்வா தேஷாம்’ தோ³ஷித்வம்’ ப்ரகாஸ²யத|

and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.

12 யதஸ்தே லோகா ரஹமி யத்³ யத்³ ஆசரந்தி தது³ச்சாரணம் அபி லஜ்ஜாஜநகம்’|

For the things done in secret by them it is a shame even to speak of.

13 யதோ தீ³ப்த்யா யத்³ யத் ப்ரகாஸ்²யதே தத் தயா சகாஸ்யதே யச்ச சகாஸ்தி தத்³ தீ³ப்திஸ்வரூபம்’ ப⁴வதி|

But all things, when reproved, are made manifest by the light; for whatever maketh manifest is light.

14 ஏதத்காரணாத்³ உக்தம் ஆஸ்தே, "ஹே நித்³ரித ப்ரபு³த்⁴யஸ்வ ம்ரு’தேப்⁴யஸ்²சோத்தி²திம்’ குரு| தத்க்ரு’தே ஸூர்ய்யவத் க்²ரீஷ்ட​: ஸ்வயம்’ த்வாம்’ த்³யோதயிஷ்யதி| "

Wherefore he saith, “Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give thee light.”

15 அத​: ஸாவதா⁴நா ப⁴வத, அஜ்ஞாநா இவ மாசரத கிந்து ஜ்ஞாநிந இவ ஸதர்கம் ஆசரத|

See then that ye walk circumspectly; not as unwise men, but as wise;

16 ஸமயம்’ ப³ஹுமூல்யம்’ க³ணயத்⁴வம்’ யத​: காலா அப⁴த்³ரா​: |

buying up for yourselves opportunities, because the days are evil.

17 தஸ்மாத்³ யூயம் அஜ்ஞாநா ந ப⁴வத கிந்து ப்ரபோ⁴ரபி⁴மதம்’ கிம்’ தத³வக³தா ப⁴வத|

Wherefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18 ஸர்வ்வநாஸ²ஜநகேந ஸுராபாநேந மத்தா மா ப⁴வத கிந்த்வாத்மநா பூர்ய்யத்⁴வம்’|

And be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled with the Spirit,

19 அபரம்’ கீ³தை ர்கா³நை​: பாரமார்தி²ககீர்த்தநைஸ்²ச பரஸ்பரம் ஆலபந்தோ மநஸா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ ப்ரபு⁴ம் உத்³தி³ஸ்²ய கா³யத வாத³யத ச|

speaking to one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20 ஸர்வ்வதா³ ஸர்வ்வவிஷயே(அ)ஸ்மத்ப்ரபோ⁴ யீஸோ²​: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய நாம்நா தாதம் ஈஸ்²வரம்’ த⁴ந்யம்’ வத³த|

giving thanks always for all things to God, the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

21 யூயம் ஈஸ்²வராத்³ பீ⁴தா​: ஸந்த அந்யே(அ)பரேஷாம்’ வஸீ²பூ⁴தா ப⁴வத|

submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.

22 ஹே யோஷித​: , யூயம்’ யதா² ப்ரபோ⁴ஸ்ததா² ஸ்வஸ்வஸ்வாமிநோ வஸ²ங்க³தா ப⁴வத|

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord;

23 யத​: க்²ரீஷ்டோ யத்³வத் ஸமிதே ர்மூர்த்³தா⁴ ஸ²ரீரஸ்ய த்ராதா ச ப⁴வதி தத்³வத் ஸ்வாமீ யோஷிதோ மூர்த்³தா⁴|

for the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, —he, who is the Saviour of the body.

24 அத​: ஸமிதி ர்யத்³வத் க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய வஸீ²பூ⁴தா தத்³வத்³ யோஷித்³பி⁴ரபி ஸ்வஸ்வஸ்வாமிநோ வஸ²தா ஸ்வீகர்த்தவ்யா|

But as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be to their husbands in everything.

25 அபரஞ்ச ஹே புருஷா​: , யூயம்’ க்²ரீஷ்ட இவ ஸ்வஸ்வயோஷித்ஸு ப்ரீயத்⁴வம்’|

Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it,

26 ஸ க்²ரீஷ்டோ(அ)பி ஸமிதௌ ப்ரீதவாந் தஸ்யா​: க்ரு’தே ச ஸ்வப்ராணாந் த்யக்தவாந் யத​: ஸ வாக்யே ஜலமஜ்ஜநேந தாம்’ பரிஷ்க்ரு’த்ய பாவயிதும்

that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the bath of the water in the word;

27 அபரம்’ திலகவல்யாதி³விஹீநாம்’ பவித்ராம்’ நிஷ்கலங்காஞ்ச தாம்’ ஸமிதிம்’ தேஜஸ்விநீம்’ க்ரு’த்வா ஸ்வஹஸ்தே ஸமர்பயிதுஞ்சாபி⁴லஷிதவாந்|

that he himself might present to himself the church, glorious, having no spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 தஸ்மாத் ஸ்வதநுவத் ஸ்வயோஷிதி ப்ரேமகரணம்’ புருஷஸ்யோசிதம்’, யேந ஸ்வயோஷிதி ப்ரேம க்ரியதே தேநாத்மப்ரேம க்ரியதே|

In like manner husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself;

29 கோ(அ)பி கதா³பி ந ஸ்வகீயாம்’ தநும் ரு’தீயிதவாந் கிந்து ஸர்வ்வே தாம்’ விப்⁴ரதி புஷ்ணந்தி ச| க்²ரீஷ்டோ(அ)பி ஸமிதிம்’ ப்ரதி ததே³வ கரோதி,

for no one ever yet hated his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ doth the church;

30 யதோ வயம்’ தஸ்ய ஸ²ரீரஸ்யாங்கா³நி மாம்’ஸாஸ்தீ²நி ச ப⁴வாம​: |

for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 ஏதத³ர்த²ம்’ மாநவ​: ஸ்வமாதாபிதரோ பரித்யஜ்ய ஸ்வபா⁴ர்ய்யாயாம் ஆஸம்’க்ஷ்யதி தௌ த்³வௌ ஜநாவேகாங்கௌ³ ப⁴விஷ்யத​: |

“For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”

32 ஏதந்நிகூ³ட⁴வாக்யம்’ கு³ருதரம்’ மயா ச க்²ரீஷ்டஸமிதீ அதி⁴ தத்³ உச்யதே|

This mystery is a great one; but I am speaking of Christ and of the church.

33 அதஏவ யுஷ்மாகம் ஏகைகோ ஜந ஆத்மவத் ஸ்வயோஷிதி ப்ரீயதாம்’ பா⁴ர்ய்யாபி ஸ்வாமிநம்’ ஸமாத³ர்த்தும்’ யததாம்’|

However, do ye also severally love each one his own wife as himself; and let the wife see that she reverence her husband.
