ப்ரேரிதா​: 6

1 தஸ்மிந் ஸமயே ஸி²ஷ்யாணாம்’ பா³ஹுல்யாத் ப்ராத்யஹிகதா³நஸ்ய விஸ்²ராணநை ர்பி⁴ந்நதே³ஸீ²யாநாம்’ வித⁴வாஸ்த்ரீக³ண உபேக்ஷிதே ஸதி இப்³ரீயலோகை​: ஸஹாந்யதே³ஸீ²யாநாம்’ விவாத³ உபாதிஷ்ட²த்|

But in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a murmuring of the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

2 ததா³ த்³வாத³ஸ²ப்ரேரிதா​: ஸர்வ்வாந் ஸி²ஷ்யாந் ஸம்’க்³ரு’ஹ்யாகத²யந் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய கதா²ப்ரசாரம்’ பரித்யஜ்ய போ⁴ஜநக³வேஷணம் அஸ்மாகம் உசிதம்’ நஹி|

And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples to them, and said, It doth not seem to us proper, that we should leave the word of God, and provide for tables.

3 அதோ ஹே ப்⁴ராத்ரு’க³ண வயம் ஏதத்கர்ம்மணோ பா⁴ரம்’ யேப்⁴யோ தா³தும்’ ஸ²க்நும ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸா²ந் ஸுக்²யாத்யாபந்நாந் பவித்ரேணாத்மநா ஜ்ஞாநேந ச பூர்ணாந் ஸப்ப்ரஜநாந் யூயம்’ ஸ்வேஷாம்’ மத்⁴யே மநோநீதாந் குருத,

Therefore, brethren, look out among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint over this business;

4 கிந்து வயம்’ ப்ரார்த²நாயாம்’ கதா²ப்ரசாரகர்ம்மணி ச நித்யப்ரவ்ரு’த்தா​: ஸ்தா²ஸ்யாம​: |

but we will give ourselves closely to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

5 ஏதஸ்யாம்’ கதா²யாம்’ ஸர்வ்வே லோகா​: ஸந்துஷ்டா​: ஸந்த​: ஸ்வேஷாம்’ மத்⁴யாத் ஸ்திபா²ந​: பி²லிப​: ப்ரக²ரோ நிகாநோர் தீமந் பர்ம்மிணா யிஹூதி³மதக்³ராஹீ-ஆந்தியகி²யாநக³ரீயோ நிகலா ஏதாந் பரமப⁴க்தாந் பவித்ரேணாத்மநா பரிபூர்ணாந் ஸப்த ஜநாந்

And what was said pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus a proselyte of Antioch,

6 ப்ரேரிதாநாம்’ ஸமக்ஷம் ஆநயந், ததஸ்தே ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ க்ரு’த்வா தேஷாம்’ ஸி²ர​: ஸு ஹஸ்தாந் ஆர்பயந்|

whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

7 அபரஞ்ச ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய கதா² தே³ஸ²ம்’ வ்யாப்நோத் விஸே²ஷதோ யிரூஸா²லமி நக³ரே ஸி²ஷ்யாணாம்’ ஸம்’க்²யா ப்ரபூ⁴தரூபேணாவர்த்³த⁴த யாஜகாநாம்’ மத்⁴யேபி ப³ஹவ​: க்²ரீஷ்டமதக்³ராஹிணோ(அ)ப⁴வந்|

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem was greatly enlarged; and a great multitude of the priests were obedient to the faith.

8 ஸ்திபா²நோ விஸ்²வாஸேந பராக்ரமேண ச பரிபூர்ண​: ஸந் லோகாநாம்’ மத்⁴யே ப³ஹுவித⁴ம் அத்³பு⁴தம் ஆஸ்²சர்ய்யம்’ கர்ம்மாகரோத்|

And Stephen, full of grace and power, wrought great wonders and signs among the people.

9 தேந லிப³ர்த்திநீயநாம்நா விக்²யாதஸங்க⁴ஸ்ய கதிபயஜநா​: குரீணீயஸிகந்த³ரீய-கிலிகீயாஸீ²யாதே³ஸீ²யா​: கியந்தோ ஜநாஸ்²சோத்தா²ய ஸ்திபா²நேந ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ வ்யவத³ந்த|

But some of those who belonged to the so-called synagogue of the Freedmen, and of the Cyrenaeans and Alexandrians, and of those from Cilicia and Asia, arose and disputed with Stephen;

10 கிந்து ஸ்திபா²நோ ஜ்ஞாநேந பவித்ரேணாத்மநா ச ஈத்³ரு’ஸீ²ம்’ கதா²ம்’ கதி²தவாந் யஸ்யாஸ்தே ஆபத்திம்’ கர்த்தும்’ நாஸ²க்நுவந்|

and they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.

11 பஸ்²சாத் தை ர்லோபி⁴தா​: கதிபயஜநா​: கதா²மேநாம் அகத²யந், வயம்’ தஸ்ய முக²தோ மூஸா ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ச நிந்தா³வாக்யம் அஸ்²ரௌஷ்ம|

Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and God.

12 தே லோகாநாம்’ லோகப்ராசீநாநாம் அத்⁴யாபகாநாஞ்ச ப்ரவ்ரு’த்திம்’ ஜநயித்வா ஸ்திபா²நஸ்ய ஸந்நிதி⁴ம் ஆக³த்ய தம்’ த்⁴ரு’த்வா மஹாஸபா⁴மத்⁴யம் ஆநயந்|

And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and seized him, and brought him to the council,

13 தத³நந்தரம்’ கதிபயஜநேஷு மித்²யாஸாக்ஷிஷு ஸமாநீதேஷு தே(அ)கத²யந் ஏஷ ஜந ஏதத்புண்யஸ்தா²நவ்யவஸ்த²யோ ர்நிந்தா³த​: கதா³பி ந நிவர்த்ததே|

and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak words against the holy place, and the Law.

14 ப²லதோ நாஸரதீயயீஸு²​: ஸ்தா²நமேதத்³ உச்சி²ந்நம்’ கரிஷ்யதி மூஸாஸமர்பிதம் அஸ்மாகம்’ வ்யவஹரணம் அந்யரூபம்’ கரிஷ்யதி தஸ்யைதாத்³ரு’ஸீ²ம்’ கதா²ம்’ வயம் அஸ்²ரு’ணும|

For we have heard him say, This Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place, and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.

15 ததா³ மஹாஸபா⁴ஸ்தா²​: ஸர்வ்வே தம்’ ப்ரதி ஸ்தி²ராம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ க்ரு’த்வா ஸ்வர்க³தூ³தமுக²ஸத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ தஸ்ய முக²ம் அபஸ்²யந்|

And all that sat in the council, looking steadily upon him, saw his face like the face of an angel.
