ப்ரேரிதா: 24
1 பஞ்சப்⁴யோ தி³நேப்⁴ய: பரம்’ ஹநாநீயநாமா மஹாயாஜகோ(அ)தி⁴பதே: ஸமக்ஷம்’ பௌலஸ்ய ப்ராதிகூல்யேந நிவேத³யிதும்’ தர்துல்லநாமாநம்’ கஞ்சந வக்தாரம்’ ப்ராசீநஜநாம்’ஸ்²ச ஸங்கி³ந: க்ரு’த்வா கைஸரியாநக³ரம் ஆக³ச்ச²த்|
And after five days Ananias, the high-priest, came down with the elders and a certain orator named Tertullus; and they brought a complaint before the governor against Paul.
2 தத: பௌலே ஸமாநீதே ஸதி தர்துல்லஸ்தஸ்யாபவாத³கதா²ம்’ கத²யிதும் ஆரப⁴த ஹே மஹாமஹிமபீ²லிக்ஷ ப⁴வதோ வயம் அதிநிர்வ்விக்⁴நம்’ காலம்’ யாபயாமோ ப⁴வத: பரிணாமத³ர்ஸி²தயா ஏதத்³தே³ஸீ²யாநாம்’ ப³ஹூநி மங்க³லாநி க⁴டிதாநி,
And when he had been called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy much peace, and that improvements are in every way and everywhere taking place in this nation through thy foresight,
3 இதி ஹேதோ ர்வயமதிக்ரு’தஜ்ஞா: ஸந்த: ஸர்வ்வத்ர ஸர்வ்வதா³ ப⁴வதோ கு³ணாந் கா³யம: |
we accept it, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.
4 கிந்து ப³ஹுபி⁴: கதா²பி⁴ ர்ப⁴வந்தம்’ யேந ந விரஞ்ஜயாமி தஸ்மாத்³ விநயே ப⁴வாந் ப³நுகம்ப்ய மத³ல்பகதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ரு’ணோது|
But not to detain thee too long, I pray thee to hear us, in thy clemency, a few words.
5 ஏஷ மஹாமாரீஸ்வரூபோ நாஸரதீயமதக்³ராஹிஸம்’கா⁴தஸ்ய முக்²யோ பூ⁴த்வா ஸர்வ்வதே³ஸே²ஷு ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ யிஹூதீ³யாநாம்’ ராஜத்³ரோஹாசரணப்ரவ்ரு’த்திம்’ ஜநயதீத்யஸ்மாபி⁴ ர்நிஸ்²சிதம்’|
For we have found this man to be a pest, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes;
6 ஸ மந்தி³ரமபி அஸு²சி கர்த்தும்’ சேஷ்டிதவாந்; இதி காரணாத்³ வயம் ஏநம்’ த்⁴ரு’த்வா ஸ்வவ்யவஸ்தா²நுஸாரேண விசாரயிதும்’ ப்ராவர்த்தாமஹி;
who also attempted to profane the temple, and we apprehended him;
7 கிந்து லுஷிய: ஸஹஸ்ரஸேநாபதிராக³த்ய ப³லாத்³ அஸ்மாகம்’ கரேப்⁴ய ஏநம்’ க்³ரு’ஹீத்வா
8 ஏதஸ்யாபவாத³காந் ப⁴வத: ஸமீபம் ஆக³ந்தும் ஆஜ்ஞாபயத்| வயம்’ யஸ்மிந் தமபவாதா³மோ ப⁴வதா பத³பவாத³கதா²யாம்’ விசாரிதாயாம்’ ஸத்யாம்’ ஸர்வ்வம்’ வ்ரு’த்தாந்தம்’ வேதி³தும்’ ஸ²க்ஷ்யதே|
and from him thou canst thyself ascertain by examination all these things of which we accuse him.
9 ததோ யிஹூதீ³யா அபி ஸ்வீக்ரு’த்ய கதி²தவந்த ஏஷா கதா² ப்ரமாணம்|
And the Jews also joined in the charges against him, affirming that these things were so.
10 அதி⁴பதௌ கதா²ம்’ கத²யிதும்’ பௌலம்’ ப்ரதீங்கி³தம்’ க்ரு’தவதி ஸ கதி²தவாந் ப⁴வாந் ப³ஹூந் வத்ஸராந் யாவத்³ ஏதத்³தே³ஸ²ஸ்ய ஸா²ஸநம்’ கரோதீதி விஜ்ஞாய ப்ரத்யுத்தரம்’ தா³தும் அக்ஷோபோ⁴(அ)ப⁴வம்|
Then Paul, after the governor had beckoned to him to speak, answered, Since I know that thou hast been for many years a judge for this nation, I answer for myself cheerfully;
11 அத்³ய கேவலம்’ த்³வாத³ஸ² தி³நாநி யாதாநி, அஹம் ஆராத⁴நாம்’ கர்த்தும்’ யிரூஸா²லமநக³ரம்’ க³தவாந் ஏஷா கதா² ப⁴வதா ஜ்ஞாதும்’ ஸ²க்யதே;
for it is in thy power to ascertain that it is not more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to worship.
12 கிந்த்விபே⁴ மாம்’ மத்⁴யேமந்தி³ரம்’ கேநாபி ஸஹ விதண்டா³ம்’ குர்வ்வந்தம்’ குத்ராபி ப⁴ஜநப⁴வநே நக³ரே வா லோகாந் குப்ரவ்ரு’த்திம்’ ஜநயந்தும்’ ந த்³ரு’ஷ்டவந்த: |
And neither in the temple did they find me disputing with any one, or stirring up a tumult of the people, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;
13 இதா³நீம்’ யஸ்மிந் யஸ்மிந் மாம் அபவத³ந்தே தஸ்ய கிமபி ப்ரமாணம்’ தா³தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நுவந்தி|
nor can they prove the things of which they now accuse me.
14 கிந்து ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாக்யக்³ரந்தே² வ்யவஸ்தா²க்³ரந்தே² ச யா யா கதா² லிகி²தாஸ்தே தாஸு ஸர்வ்வாஸு விஸ்²வஸ்ய யந்மதம் இமே வித⁴ர்ம்மம்’ ஜாநந்தி தந்மதாநுஸாரேணாஹம்’ நிஜபித்ரு’புருஷாணாம் ஈஸ்²வரம் ஆராத⁴யாமீத்யஹம்’ ப⁴வத: ஸமக்ஷம் அங்கீ³கரோமி|
But this I acknowledge to thee, that according to the way [[of belief]] which they call a sect, so do I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and by the Prophets;
15 தா⁴ர்ம்மிகாணாம் அதா⁴ர்ம்மிகாணாஞ்ச ப்ரமீதலோகாநாமேவோத்தா²நம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதீதி கதா²மிமே ஸ்வீகுர்வ்வந்தி ததா²ஹமபி தஸ்மிந் ஈஸ்²வரே ப்ரத்யாஸா²ம்’ கரோமி;
having a hope in God, which they themselves also entertain, that there will be a resurrection both of the righteous and the unrighteous.
16 ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய மாநவாநாஞ்ச ஸமீபே யதா² நிர்தோ³ஷோ ப⁴வாமி தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸததம்’ யத்நவாந் அஸ்மி|
On this ground do I also myself strive to have always a conscience void of offence toward God and toward men.
17 ப³ஹுஷு வத்ஸரேஷு க³தேஷு ஸ்வதே³ஸீ²யலோகாநாம்’ நிமித்தம்’ தா³நீயத்³ரவ்யாணி நைவேத்³யாநி ச ஸமாதா³ய புநராக³மநம்’ க்ரு’தவாந்|
And after some years I came to bring alms to my nation, and to make offerings;
18 ததோஹம்’ ஸு²சி ர்பூ⁴த்வா லோகாநாம்’ ஸமாக³மம்’ கலஹம்’ வா ந காரிதவாந் ததா²ப்யாஸி²யாதே³ஸீ²யா: கியந்தோ யிஹுதீ³யலோகா மத்⁴யேமந்தி³ரம்’ மாம்’ த்⁴ரு’தவந்த: |
in doing which they found me purified in the temple, not with a crowd nor with tumult; but certain Jews from Asia [[caused it]],
19 மமோபரி யதி³ காசித³பவாத³கதா²ஸ்தி தர்ஹி ப⁴வத: ஸமீபம் உபஸ்தா²ய தேஷாமேவ ஸாக்ஷ்யதா³நம் உசிதம்|
who ought to be here before thee, and make their charge, if they had aught against me.
20 நோசேத் பூர்வ்வே மஹாஸபா⁴ஸ்தா²நாம்’ லோகாநாம்’ ஸந்நிதௌ⁴ மம த³ண்டா³யமாநத்வஸமயே, அஹமத்³ய ம்ரு’தாநாமுத்தா²நே யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்விசாரிதோஸ்மி,
Or, let these men themselves say what wrongdoing they found in me when I stood before the council,
21 தேஷாம்’ மத்⁴யே திஷ்ட²ந்நஹம்’ யாமிமாம்’ கதா²முச்சை: ஸ்வரேண கதி²தவாந் தத³ந்யோ மம கோபி தோ³ஷோ(அ)லப்⁴யத ந வேதி வரம் ஏதே ஸமுபஸ்தி²தலோகா வத³ந்து|
except in relation to this one expression, which I uttered aloud while standing among them: Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am tried before you this day.
22 ததா³ பீ²லிக்ஷ ஏதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா தந்மதஸ்ய விஸே²ஷவ்ரு’த்தாந்தம்’ விஜ்ஞாதும்’ விசாரம்’ ஸ்த²கி³தம்’ க்ரு’த்வா கதி²தவாந் லுஷியே ஸஹஸ்ரஸேநாபதௌ ஸமாயாதே ஸதி யுஷ்மாகம்’ விசாரம் அஹம்’ நிஷ்பாத³யிஷ்யாமி|
But Felix, having an accurate knowledge of the matters relating to this way [[of belief]], put them off, and said, When Lysias the chief captain cometh down, I will thoroughly examine your case.
23 அநந்தரம்’ ப³ந்த⁴நம்’ விநா பௌலம்’ ரக்ஷிதும்’ தஸ்ய ஸேவநாய ஸாக்ஷாத்கரணாய வா ததீ³யாத்மீயப³ந்து⁴ஜநாந் ந வாரயிதுஞ்ச ஸ²மஸேநாபதிம் ஆதி³ஷ்டவாந்|
He also gave orders to the centurion to guard him, and let him have indulgence, and not to forbid any of his friends to do him service.
24 அல்பதி³நாத் பரம்’ பீ²லிக்ஷோ(அ)தி⁴பதி ர்த்³ருஷில்லாநாம்நா யிஹூதீ³யயா ஸ்வபா⁴ர்ய்யயா ஸஹாக³த்ய பௌலமாஹூய தஸ்ய முகா²த் க்²ரீஷ்டத⁴ர்ம்மஸ்ய வ்ரு’த்தாந்தம் அஸ்²ரௌஷீத்|
And after some days, Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
25 பௌலேந ந்யாயஸ்ய பரிமிதபோ⁴க³ஸ்ய சரமவிசாரஸ்ய ச கதா²யாம்’ கதி²தாயாம்’ ஸத்யாம்’ பீ²லிக்ஷ: கம்பமாந: ஸந் வ்யாஹரத்³ இதா³நீம்’ யாஹி, அஹம் அவகாஸ²ம்’ ப்ராப்ய த்வாம் ஆஹூஸ்யாமி|
And as he discoursed of righteousness, and temperance, and the judgment to come, Felix became alarmed, and answered, Go thy way for the present; and when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
26 முக்திப்ரப்த்யர்த²ம்’ பௌலேந மஹ்யம்’ முத்³ராதா³ஸ்யந்தே இதி பத்யாஸா²ம்’ க்ரு’த்வா ஸ புந: புநஸ்தமாஹூய தேந ஸாகம்’ கதோ²பகத²நம்’ க்ரு’தவாந்|
He hoped also that money would be given him by Paul; on which account he sent for him the oftener, and conversed with him.
27 கிந்து வத்ஸரத்³வயாத் பரம்’ பர்கியபீ²ஷ்ட பா²லிக்ஷஸ்ய பத³ம்’ ப்ராப்தே ஸதி பீ²லிக்ஷோ யிஹூதீ³யாந் ஸந்துஷ்டாந் சிகீர்ஷந் பௌலம்’ ப³த்³த⁴ம்’ ஸம்’ஸ்தா²ப்ய க³தவாந்|
But after two years Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus; and Felix, wishing to gain favor with the Jews, left Paul bound.
