ப்ரேரிதா​: 18

1 தத்³க⁴டநாத​: பரம்’ பௌல ஆதீ²நீநக³ராத்³ யாத்ராம்’ க்ரு’த்வா கரிந்த²நக³ரம் ஆக³ச்ச²த்|

After this, Paul departed from Athens and went to Corinth.

2 தஸ்மிந் ஸமயே க்லௌதி³ய​: ஸர்வ்வாந் யிஹூதீ³யாந் ரோமாநக³ரம்’ விஹாய க³ந்தும் ஆஜ்ஞாபயத், தஸ்மாத் ப்ரிஸ்கில்லாநாம்நா ஜாயயா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம் இதாலியாதே³ஸா²த் கிஞ்சித்பூர்வ்வம் ஆக³மத் ய​: பந்ததே³ஸே² ஜாத ஆக்கிலநாமா யிஹூதீ³யலோக​: பௌலஸ்தம்’ ஸாக்ஷாத் ப்ராப்ய தயோ​: ஸமீபமிதவாந்|

There he found a Jew named Aquila, of Pontus by birth, who had recently come from Italy along with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul came to them,

3 தௌ தூ³ஷ்யநிர்ம்மாணஜீவிநௌ, தஸ்மாத் பரஸ்பரம் ஏகவ்ரு’த்திகத்வாத் ஸ தாப்⁴யாம்’ ஸஹ உஷித்வா தத் கர்ம்மாகரோத்|

and because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.

4 பௌல​: ப்ரதிவிஸ்²ராமவாரம்’ ப⁴ஜநப⁴வநம்’ க³த்வா விசாரம்’ க்ரு’த்வா யிஹூதீ³யாந் அந்யதே³ஸீ²யாம்’ஸ்²ச ப்ரவ்ரு’த்திம்’ க்³ராஹிதவாந்|

Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue and tried to persuade both Jews and Greeks.

5 ஸீலதீமதி²யயோ ர்மாகித³நியாதே³ஸா²த் ஸமேதயோ​: ஸதோ​: பௌல உத்தப்தமநா பூ⁴த்வா யீஸு²ரீஸ்²வரேணாபி⁴ஷிக்தோ ப⁴வதீதி ப்ரமாணம்’ யிஹூதீ³யாநாம்’ ஸமீபே ப்ராதா³த்|

When Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.

6 கிந்து தே (அ)தீவ விரோத⁴ம்’ விதா⁴ய பாஷண்டீ³யகதா²ம்’ கதி²தவந்தஸ்தத​: பௌலோ வஸ்த்ரம்’ து⁴ந்வந் ஏதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ கதி²தவாந், யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸோ²ணிதபாதாபராதோ⁴ யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரத்யேவ ப⁴வது, தேநாஹம்’ நிரபராதோ⁴ (அ)த்³யாரப்⁴ய பி⁴ந்நதே³ஸீ²யாநாம்’ ஸமீபம்’ யாமி|

But when the Jews opposed him and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be upon your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

7 ஸ தஸ்மாத் ப்ரஸ்தா²ய ப⁴ஜநப⁴வநஸமீபஸ்த²ஸ்ய யுஸ்தநாம்ந ஈஸ்²வரப⁴க்தஸ்ய பி⁴ந்நதே³ஸீ²யஸ்ய நிவேஸ²நம்’ ப்ராவிஸ²த்|

So he moved on from there and went to the house of a man named Justus, a worshiper of God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.

8 தத​: க்ரீஷ்பநாமா ப⁴ஜநப⁴வநாதி⁴பதி​: ஸபரிவார​: ப்ரபௌ⁴ வ்யஸ்²வஸீத், கரிந்த²நக³ரீயா ப³ஹவோ லோகாஸ்²ச ஸமாகர்ண்ய விஸ்²வஸ்ய மஜ்ஜிதா அப⁴வந்|

Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord together with his whole household. And many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.

9 க்ஷணதா³யாம்’ ப்ரபு⁴​: பௌலம்’ த³ர்ஸ²நம்’ த³த்வா பா⁴ஷிதவாந், மா பை⁴ஷீ​: , மா நிரஸீ​: கதா²ம்’ ப்ரசாரய|

One night the Lord said to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent.

10 அஹம்’ த்வயா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம் ஆஸ ஹிம்’ஸார்த²ம்’ கோபி த்வாம்’ ஸ்ப்ரஷ்டும்’ ந ஸ²க்ஷ்யதி நக³ரே(அ)ஸ்மிந் மதீ³யா லோகா ப³ஹவ ஆஸதே|

For I am with yoʋ, and no one will attack yoʋ to do yoʋ harm, for I have many people in this city.”

11 தஸ்மாத் பௌலஸ்தந்நக³ரே ப்ராயேண ஸார்த்³த⁴வத்ஸரபர்ய்யந்தம்’ ஸம்’ஸ்தா²யேஸ்²வரஸ்ய கதா²ம் உபாதி³ஸ²த்|

So Paul stayed for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

12 கா³ல்லியநாமா கஸ்²சித்³ ஆகா²யாதே³ஸ²ஸ்ய ப்ராட்³விவாக​: ஸமப⁴வத், ததோ யிஹூதீ³யா ஏகவாக்யா​: ஸந்த​: பௌலம் ஆக்ரம்ய விசாரஸ்தா²நம்’ நீத்வா

But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rose up with one accord against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat,

13 மாநுஷ ஏஷ வ்யவஸ்தா²ய விருத்³த⁴ம் ஈஸ்²வரப⁴ஜநம்’ கர்த்தும்’ லோகாந் குப்ரவ்ரு’த்திம்’ க்³ராஹயதீதி நிவேதி³தவந்த​: |

saying, “This man is persuading people to worship God in a manner contrary to the law.”

14 தத​: பௌலே ப்ரத்யுத்தரம்’ தா³தும் உத்³யதே ஸதி கா³ல்லியா யிஹூதீ³யாந் வ்யாஹரத், யதி³ கஸ்யசித்³ அந்யாயஸ்ய வாதிஸ²யது³ஷ்டதாசரணஸ்ய விசாரோ(அ)ப⁴விஷ்யத் தர்ஹி யுஷ்மாகம்’ கதா² மயா ஸஹநீயாப⁴விஷ்யத்|

But just as Paul was about to open his mouth to speak, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of some crime or evil misdeed, O Jews, I would bear with you, as is reasonable.

15 கிந்து யதி³ கேவலம்’ கதா²யா வா நாம்நோ வா யுஷ்மாகம்’ வ்யவஸ்தா²யா விவாதோ³ ப⁴வதி தர்ஹி தஸ்ய விசாரமஹம்’ ந கரிஷ்யாமி, யூயம்’ தஸ்ய மீமாம்’ஸாம்’ குருத|

But since it is a question about words, names, and your own law, see to it yourselves, for I do not want to be a judge of such things.”

16 தத​: ஸ தாந் விசாரஸ்தா²நாத்³ தூ³ரீக்ரு’தவாந்|

So he drove them away from the judgment seat.

17 ததா³ பி⁴ந்நதே³ஸீ²யா​: ஸோஸ்தி²நிநாமாநம்’ ப⁴ஜநப⁴வநஸ்ய ப்ரதா⁴நாதி⁴பதிம்’ த்⁴ரு’த்வா விசாரஸ்தா²நஸ்ய ஸம்முகே² ப்ராஹரந் ததா²பி கா³ல்லியா தேஷு ஸர்வ்வகர்ம்மஸு ந மநோ ந்யத³தா⁴த்|

Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of the judgment seat. But none of these things were of any concern to Gallio.

18 பௌலஸ்தத்ர புநர்ப³ஹுதி³நாநி ந்யவஸத், ததோ ப்⁴ராத்ரு’க³ணாத்³ விஸர்ஜநம்’ ப்ராப்ய கிஞ்சநவ்ரதநிமித்தம்’ கிம்’க்ரியாநக³ரே ஸி²ரோ முண்ட³யித்வா ப்ரிஸ்கில்லாக்கிலாப்⁴யாம்’ ஸஹிதோ ஜலபதே²ந ஸுரியாதே³ஸ²ம்’ க³தவாந்|

After staying in Corinth for many more days, Paul took leave of the brothers and set sail for Syria, and Priscilla and Aquila were with him. (Now he had shaved his head in Cenchreae because he was under a vow.)

19 தத இபி²ஷநக³ர உபஸ்தா²ய தத்ர தௌ விஸ்ரு’ஜ்ய ஸ்வயம்’ ப⁴ஜநப்⁴வநம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய யிஹூதீ³யை​: ஸஹ விசாரிதவாந்|

When he arrived at Ephesus, he left Priscilla and Aquila there, but he himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

20 தே ஸ்வை​: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ புந​: கதிபயதி³நாநி ஸ்தா²தும்’ தம்’ வ்யநயந், ஸ தத³நுரரீக்ரு’த்ய கதா²மேதாம்’ கதி²தவாந்,

When they asked him to stay with them for a longer period of time, he declined.

21 யிரூஸா²லமி ஆகா³ம்யுத்ஸவபாலநார்த²ம்’ மயா க³மநீயம்’; பஸ்²சாத்³ ஈஸ்²வரேச்சா²யாம்’ ஜாதாயாம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபம்’ ப்ரத்யாக³மிஷ்யாமி| தத​: பரம்’ ஸ தை ர்விஸ்ரு’ஷ்ட​: ஸந் ஜலபதே²ந இபி²ஷநக³ராத் ப்ரஸ்தி²தவாந்|

However, as he took leave of them, he said, “I must by all means keep the coming feast in Jerusalem, but I will return to you again, God willing.” Then he set sail from Ephesus.

22 தத​: கைஸரியாம் உபஸ்தி²த​: ஸந் நக³ரம்’ க³த்வா ஸமாஜம்’ நமஸ்க்ரு’த்ய தஸ்மாத்³ ஆந்தியகி²யாநக³ரம்’ ப்ரஸ்தி²தவாந்|

When he arrived at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and then went down to Antioch.

23 தத்ர கியத்காலம்’ யாபயித்வா தஸ்மாத் ப்ரஸ்தா²ய ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ ஸி²ஷ்யாணாம்’ மநாம்’ஸி ஸுஸ்தி²ராணி க்ரு’த்வா க்ரமஸோ² க³லாதியாப்²ருகி³யாதே³ஸ²யோ ர்ப்⁴ரமித்வா க³தவாந்|

After spending some time there, he departed and went from place to place throughout the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.

24 தஸ்மிந்நேவ ஸமயே ஸிகந்த³ரியாநக³ரே ஜாத ஆபல்லோநாமா ஸா²ஸ்த்ரவித் ஸுவக்தா யிஹூதீ³ய ஏகோ ஜந இபி²ஷநக³ரம் ஆக³தவாந்|

Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, arrived in Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well-versed in the Scriptures.

25 ஸ ஸி²க்ஷிதப்ரபு⁴மார்கோ³ மநஸோத்³யோகீ³ ச ஸந் யோஹநோ மஜ்ஜநமாத்ரம்’ ஜ்ஞாத்வா யதா²ர்த²தயா ப்ரபோ⁴​: கதா²ம்’ கத²யந் ஸமுபாதி³ஸ²த்|

He had been instructed in the way of the Lord. Being fervent in spirit, he spoke and accurately taught the facts about the Lord, though he knew only about the baptism of John.

26 ஏஷ ஜநோ நிர்ப⁴யத்வேந ப⁴ஜநப⁴வநே கத²யிதும் ஆரப்³த⁴வாந், தத​: ப்ரிஸ்கில்லாக்கிலௌ தஸ்யோபதே³ஸ²கதா²ம்’ நிஸ²ம்ய தம்’ ஸ்வயோ​: ஸமீபம் ஆநீய ஸு²த்³த⁴ரூபேணேஸ்²வரஸ்ய கதா²ம் அபோ³த⁴யதாம்|

He began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God in greater detail.

27 பஸ்²சாத் ஸ ஆகா²யாதே³ஸ²ம்’ க³ந்தும்’ மதிம்’ க்ரு’தவாந், ததா³ தத்ரத்ய​: ஸி²ஷ்யக³ணோ யதா² தம்’ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி தத³ர்த²ம்’ ப்⁴ராத்ரு’க³ணேந ஸமாஸ்²வஸ்ய பத்ரே லிகி²தே ஸதி, ஆபல்லாஸ்தத்ரோபஸ்தி²த​: ஸந் அநுக்³ரஹேண ப்ரத்யயிநாம்’ ப³ஹூபகாராந் அகரோத்,

And when Apollos wanted to cross over to Achaia, the brothers wrote to the disciples, encouraging them to receive him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who had become believers through grace,

28 ப²லதோ யீஸு²ரபி⁴ஷிக்தஸ்த்ராதேதி ஸா²ஸ்த்ரப்ரமாணம்’ த³த்வா ப்ரகாஸ²ரூபேண ப்ரதிபந்நம்’ க்ரு’த்வா யிஹூதீ³யாந் நிருத்தராந் க்ரு’தவாந்|

for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ.
