2 பிதர: 3
1 ஹே ப்ரியதமா: , யூயம்’ யதா² பவித்ரப⁴விஷ்யத்³வக்த்ரு’பி⁴: பூர்வ்வோக்தாநி வாக்யாநி த்ராத்ரா ப்ரபு⁴நா ப்ரேரிதாநாம் அஸ்மாகம் ஆதே³ஸ²ஞ்ச ஸாரத² ததா² யுஷ்மாந் ஸ்மாரயித்வா
This second letter, beloved, I now write to you, in both which I stir up your pure minds by putting you in remembrance;
2 யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸரலபா⁴வம்’ ப்ரபோ³த⁴யிதும் அஹம்’ த்³விதீயம் இத³ம்’ பத்ரம்’ லிகா²மி|
that ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of the Lord and Saviour by your apostles;
3 ப்ரத²மம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரித³ம்’ ஜ்ஞாயதாம்’ யத் ஸே²ஷே காலே ஸ்வேச்சா²சாரிணோ நிந்த³கா உபஸ்தா²ய
knowing this first, that there will come in the last days open scoffers following their own lusts,
4 வதி³ஷ்யந்தி ப்ரபோ⁴ராக³மநஸ்ய ப்ரதிஜ்ஞா குத்ர? யத: பித்ரு’லோகாநாம்’ மஹாநித்³ராக³மநாத் பரம்’ ஸர்வ்வாணி ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டேராரம்ப⁴காலே யதா² ததை²வாவதிஷ்ட²ந்தே|
and saying, Where is his promised coming? for, from the time when the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as then, and as they have continued from the beginning of the creation.
5 பூர்வ்வம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய வாக்யேநாகாஸ²மண்ட³லம்’ ஜலாத்³ உத்பந்நா ஜலே ஸந்திஷ்ட²மாநா ச ப்ரு’தி²வ்யவித்³யதைதத்³ அநிச்சு²கதாதஸ்தே ந ஜாநாந்தி,
For of this they are willingly ignorant, that of old by the word of God there were heavens, and an earth formed out of the water and by the water,
6 ததஸ்தாத்காலிகஸம்’ஸாரோ ஜலேநாப்லாவிதோ விநாஸ²ம்’ க³த: |
by means of which the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished;
7 கிந்த்வது⁴நா வர்த்தமாநே ஆகாஸ²பூ⁴மண்ட³லே தேநைவ வாக்யேந வஹ்ந்யர்த²ம்’ கு³ப்தே விசாரதி³நம்’ து³ஷ்டமாநவாநாம்’ விநாஸ²ஞ்ச யாவத்³ ரக்ஷ்யதே|
but the present heavens and the present earth are by his word kept in store, reserved for fire against the day of judgment and the perdition of ungodly men.
8 ஹே ப்ரியதமா: , யூயம் ஏததே³கம்’ வாக்யம் அநவக³தா மா ப⁴வத யத் ப்ரபோ⁴: ஸாக்ஷாத்³ தி³நமேகம்’ வர்ஷஸஹஸ்ரவத்³ வர்ஷஸஹஸ்ரஞ்ச தி³நைகவத்|
But forget not, beloved, this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 கேசித்³ யதா² விலம்ப³ம்’ மந்யந்தே ததா² ப்ரபு⁴: ஸ்வப்ரதிஜ்ஞாயாம்’ விலம்ப³தே தந்நஹி கிந்து கோ(அ)பி யந்ந விநஸ்²யேத் ஸர்வ்வம்’ ஏவ மந: பராவர்த்தநம்’ க³ச்சே²யுரித்யபி⁴லஷந் ஸோ (அ)ஸ்மாந் ப்ரதி தீ³ர்க⁴ஸஹிஷ்ணுதாம்’ வித³தா⁴தி|
The Lord is not tardy concerning his promise, as some men count tardiness; but is long-suffering toward you, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 கிந்து க்ஷபாயாம்’ சௌர இவ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்தி³நம் ஆக³மிஷ்யதி தஸ்மிந் மஹாஸ²ப்³தே³ந க³க³நமண்ட³லம்’ லோப்ஸ்யதே மூலவஸ்தூநி ச தாபேந க³லிஷ்யந்தே ப்ரு’தி²வீ தந்மத்⁴யஸ்தி²தாநி கர்ம்மாணி ச த⁴க்ஷ்யந்தே|
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein will be burned up.
11 அத: ஸர்வ்வைரேதை ர்விகாரே க³ந்தவ்யே ஸதி யஸ்மிந் ஆகாஸ²மண்ட³லம்’ தா³ஹேந விகாரிஷ்யதே மூலவஸ்தூநி ச தாபேந க³லிஷ்யந்தே
Seeing that all these things are thus to be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 தஸ்யேஸ்²வரதி³நஸ்யாக³மநம்’ ப்ரதீக்ஷமாணைராகாங்க்ஷமாணைஸ்²ச யூஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்த⁴ர்ம்மாசாரேஸ்²வரப⁴க்திப்⁴யாம்’ கீத்³ரு’ஸை² ர்லோகை ர்ப⁴விதவ்யம்’?
looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens being on fire will be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat!
13 ததா²பி வயம்’ தஸ்ய ப்ரதிஜ்ஞாநுஸாரேண த⁴ர்ம்மஸ்ய வாஸஸ்தா²நம்’ நூதநம் ஆகாஸ²மண்ட³லம்’ நூதநம்’ பூ⁴மண்ட³லஞ்ச ப்ரதீக்ஷாமஹே|
But, according to his promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 அதஏவ ஹே ப்ரியதமா: , தாநி ப்ரதீக்ஷமாணா யூயம்’ நிஷ்கலங்கா அநிந்தி³தாஸ்²ச பூ⁴த்வா யத் ஸா²ந்த்யாஸ்²ரிதாஸ்திஷ்ட²தை²தஸ்மிந் யதத்⁴வம்’|
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for these things, be diligent that ye may be found without spot and blameless before him in peace,
15 அஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்தீ³ர்க⁴ஸஹிஷ்ணுதாஞ்ச பரித்ராணஜநிகாம்’ மந்யத்⁴வம்’| அஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரியப்⁴ராத்ரே பௌலாய யத் ஜ்ஞாநம் அதா³யி தத³நுஸாரேண ஸோ(அ)பி பத்ரே யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி ததே³வாலிக²த்|
and account the long-suffering of our Lord salvation; as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you,
16 ஸ்வகீயஸர்வ்வபத்ரேஷு சைதாந்யதி⁴ ப்ரஸ்துத்ய ததே³வ க³த³தி| தேஷு பத்ரேஷு கதிபயாநி து³ரூஹ்யாணி வாக்யாநி வித்³யந்தே யே ச லோகா அஜ்ஞாநாஸ்²சஞ்சலாஸ்²ச தே நிஜவிநாஸா²ர்த²ம் அந்யஸா²ஸ்த்ரீயவசநாநீவ தாந்யபி விகாரயந்தி|
as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which things are some that are hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as also the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
17 தஸ்மாத்³ ஹே ப்ரியதமா: , யூயம்’ பூர்வ்வம்’ பு³த்³த்⁴வா ஸாவதா⁴நாஸ்திஷ்ட²த, அதா⁴ர்ம்மிகாணாம்’ ப்⁴ராந்திஸ்ரோதஸாபஹ்ரு’தா: ஸ்வகீயஸுஸ்தி²ரத்வாத் மா ப்⁴ரஸ்²யத|
Do ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things beforehand, beware lest, being led away with the error of the lawless, ye fall from your own steadfastness.
