2 கரிந்தி²ந​: 12

1 ஆத்மஸ்²லாகா⁴ மமாநுபயுக்தா கிந்த்வஹம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்த³ர்ஸ²நாதே³ஸா²நாம் ஆக்²யாநம்’ கத²யிதும்’ ப்ரவர்த்தே|

Glorying must be, but it is not profitable: so I proceed to visions and revelations of our Lord.

2 இதஸ்²சதுர்த³ஸ²வத்ஸரேப்⁴ய​: பூர்வ்வம்’ மயா பரிசித ஏகோ ஜநஸ்த்ரு’தீயம்’ ஸ்வர்க³மநீயத, ஸ ஸஸ²ரீரேண நி​: ஸ²ரீரேண வா தத் ஸ்தா²நமநீயத தத³ஹம்’ ந ஜாநாமி கிந்த்வீஸ்²வரோ ஜாநாதி|

I knew a man in the Messiah fourteen years ago, (but whether in a body, or whether out of a body, I know not; God knoweth: ) who was caught up to the third region of heaven.

3 ஸ மாநவ​: ஸ்வர்க³ம்’ நீத​: ஸந் அகத்²யாநி மர்த்த்யவாக³தீதாநி ச வாக்யாநி ஸ்²ருதவாந்|

And I knew this same man; (but whether in a body, or out of a body, I know not; God knoweth; )

4 கிந்து ததா³நீம்’ ஸ ஸஸ²ரீரோ நி​: ஸ²ரீரோ வாஸீத் தந்மயா ந ஜ்ஞாயதே தத்³ ஈஸ்²வரேணைவ ஜ்ஞாயதே|

and he was caught up to Paradise, and heard ineffable words, which it is not permitted a man to utter.

5 தமத்⁴யஹம்’ ஸ்²லாகி⁴ஷ்யே மாமதி⁴ நாந்யேந கேநசித்³ விஷயேண ஸ்²லாகி⁴ஷ்யே கேவலம்’ ஸ்வதௌ³ர்ப்³ப³ல்யேந ஸ்²லாகி⁴ஷ்யே|

Of him I will glory: but of myself I will not glory, except in my infirmities.

6 யத்³யஹம் ஆத்மஸ்²லாகா⁴ம்’ கர்த்தும் இச்சே²யம்’ ததா²பி நிர்ப்³போ³த⁴ இவ ந ப⁴விஷ்யாமி யத​: ஸத்யமேவ கத²யிஷ்யாமி, கிந்து லோகா மாம்’ யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ பஸ்²யந்தி மம வாக்யம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா வா யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ மாம்’ மந்யதே தஸ்மாத் ஸ்²ரேஷ்ட²ம்’ மாம்’ யந்ந க³ணயந்தி தத³ர்த²மஹம்’ ததோ விரம்’ஸ்யாமி|

Yet if I were disposed to glory, I should not be without reason; for I declare the truth. But I refrain, lest any one should think of me, beyond what he seeth in me and heareth from me.

7 அபரம் உத்க்ரு’ஷ்டத³ர்ஸ²நப்ராப்திதோ யத³ஹம் ஆத்மாபி⁴மாநீ ந ப⁴வாமி தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸ²ரீரவேத⁴கம் ஏகம்’ ஸூ²லம்’ மஹ்யம் அதா³யி தத் மதீ³யாத்மாபி⁴மாநநிவாரணார்த²ம்’ மம தாட³யிதா ஸ²யதாநோ தூ³த​: |

And, that I might not be uplifted by the excellency of the revelations, there was imparted to me a thorn in my flesh, the angel of Satan, to buffet me, that I might not be uplifted.

8 மத்தஸ்தஸ்ய ப்ரஸ்தா²நம்’ யாசிதுமஹம்’ த்ரிஸ்தமதி⁴ ப்ரபு⁴முத்³தி³ஸ்²ய ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ க்ரு’தவாந்|

Respecting this, I thrice besought my Lord, that it might depart from me.

9 தத​: ஸ மாமுக்தவாந் மமாநுக்³ரஹஸ்தவ ஸர்வ்வஸாத⁴க​: , யதோ தௌ³ர்ப்³ப³ல்யாத் மம ஸ²க்தி​: பூர்ணதாம்’ க³ச்ச²தீதி| அத​: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸ²க்தி ர்யந்மாம் ஆஸ்²ரயதி தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸ்வதௌ³ர்ப்³ப³ல்யேந மம ஸ்²லாக⁴நம்’ ஸுக²த³ம்’|

And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my power is perfected in weakness. Gladly, therefore, will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of the Messiah may rest upon me.

10 தஸ்மாத் க்²ரீஷ்டஹேதோ ர்தௌ³ர்ப்³ப³ல்யநிந்தா³த³ரித்³ரதாவிபக்ஷதாகஷ்டாதி³ஷு ஸந்துஷ்யாம்யஹம்’| யதா³ஹம்’ து³ர்ப்³ப³லோ(அ)ஸ்மி ததை³வ ஸப³லோ ப⁴வாமி|

Therefore I have pleasure in infirmities, in reproach, in afflictions, in persecutions, in distresses, which are for the Messiah's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

11 ஏதேநாத்மஸ்²லாக⁴நேநாஹம்’ நிர்ப்³போ³த⁴ இவாப⁴வம்’ கிந்து யூயம்’ தஸ்ய காரணம்’ யதோ மம ப்ரஸ²ம்’ஸா யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரேவ கர்த்தவ்யாஸீத்| யத்³யப்யம் அக³ண்யோ ப⁴வேயம்’ ததா²பி முக்²யதமேப்⁴ய​: ப்ரேரிதேப்⁴ய​: கேநாபி ப்ரகாரேண நாஹம்’ ந்யூநோ(அ)ஸ்மி|

Behold, I have become foolish in my glorying, for ye compelled me. For ye ought to bear witness for me; because I was inferior in nothing to those legates who most excel, although I was nothing.

12 ஸர்வ்வதா²த்³பு⁴தக்ரியாஸ²க்திலக்ஷணை​: ப்ரேரிதஸ்ய சிஹ்நாநி யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யே ஸதை⁴ர்ய்யம்’ மயா ப்ரகாஸி²தாநி|

I wrought among you the signs of the legates, with all patience; and in prodigies, and in wonders, and in mighty deeds.

13 மம பாலநார்த²ம்’ யூயம்’ மயா பா⁴ராக்ராந்தா நாப⁴வதைதத்³ ஏகம்’ ந்யூநத்வம்’ விநாபராப்⁴ய​: ஸமிதிப்⁴யோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ கிம்’ ந்யூநத்வம்’ ஜாதம்’? அநேந மம தோ³ஷம்’ க்ஷமத்⁴வம்’|

For in what fell ye short of the other churches; except in this, that I was not burdensome to you? Forgive me this fault.

14 பஸ்²யத த்ரு’தீயவாரம்’ யுஷ்மத்ஸமீபம்’ க³ந்துமுத்³யதோ(அ)ஸ்மி தத்ராப்யஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் பா⁴ராக்ராந்தாந் ந கரிஷ்யாமி| யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸம்பத்திமஹம்’ ந ம்ரு’க³யே கிந்து யுஷ்மாநேவ, யத​: பித்ரோ​: க்ரு’தே ஸந்தாநாநாம்’ த⁴நஸஞ்சயோ(அ)நுபயுக்த​: கிந்து ஸந்தாநாநாம்’ க்ரு’தே பித்ரோ ர்த⁴நஸஞ்சய உபயுக்த​: |

Behold, this third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not burden you; for I seek not yours, but you: for children ought not to lay up treasures for the parents, but the parents for their children.

15 அபரஞ்ச யுஷ்மாஸு ப³ஹு ப்ரீயமாணோ(அ)ப்யஹம்’ யதி³ யுஷ்மத்தோ(அ)ல்பம்’ ப்ரம லபே⁴ ததா²பி யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப்ராணரக்ஷார்த²ம்’ ஸாநந்த³ம்’ ப³ஹு வ்யயம்’ ஸர்வ்வவ்யயஞ்ச கரிஷ்யாமி|

And cheerfully will I both pay my expenses, and also give myself for your souls; although the more I love you, the less ye love me.

16 யூயம்’ மயா கிஞ்சித³பி ந பா⁴ராக்ராந்தா இதி ஸத்யம்’, கிந்த்வஹம்’ தூ⁴ர்த்த​: ஸந் ச²லேந யுஷ்மாந் வஞ்சிதவாந் ஏதத் கிம்’ கேநசித்³ வக்தவ்யம்’?

But perhaps, though I was not burdensome to you, yet, like a cunning man, I filched from you by craftiness!

17 யுஷ்மத்ஸமீபம்’ மயா யே லோகா​: ப்ரஹிதாஸ்தேஷாமேகேந கிம்’ மம கோ(அ)ப்யர்த²லாபோ⁴ ஜாத​: ?

Was it by the hand of some other person whom I sent to you, that I pilfered from you?

18 அஹம்’ தீதம்’ விநீய தேந ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ ப்⁴ராதரமேகம்’ ப்ரேஷிதவாந் யுஷ்மத்தஸ்தீதேந கிம் அர்தோ² லப்³த⁴​: ? ஏகஸ்மிந் பா⁴வ ஏகஸ்ய பத³சிஹ்நேஷு சாவாம்’ கிம்’ ந சரிதவந்தௌ?

I requested Titus, and with him I sent the brethren: did Titus pilfer any thing from you? Did we not walk in one spirit, and in the same steps?

19 யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபே வயம்’ புந ர்தோ³ஷக்ஷாலநகதா²ம்’ கத²யாம இதி கிம்’ பு³த்⁴யத்⁴வே? ஹே ப்ரியதமா​: , யுஷ்மாகம்’ நிஷ்டா²ர்த²ம்’ வயமீஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸமக்ஷம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டேந ஸர்வ்வாண்யேதாநி கத²யாம​: |

Do ye again suppose, that we would apologize to you? Before God, in the Messiah we speak: and all these things, my beloved, are for the sake of your edification.

20 அஹம்’ யதா³க³மிஷ்யாமி, ததா³ யுஷ்மாந் யாத்³ரு’ஸா²ந் த்³ரஷ்டும்’ நேச்சா²மி தாத்³ரு’ஸா²ந் த்³ரக்ஷ்யாமி, யூயமபி மாம்’ யாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ த்³ரஷ்டும்’ நேச்ச²த² தாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ த்³ரக்ஷ்யத², யுஷ்மந்மத்⁴யே விவாத³ ஈர்ஷ்யா க்ரோதோ⁴ விபக்ஷதா பராபவாத³​: கர்ணேஜபநம்’ த³ர்ப​: கலஹஸ்²சைதே ப⁴விஷ்யந்தி;

For I fear, lest I should come to you and not find you such as I would wish; and lest I also should be found by you, such as ye would not wish; lest there should be contention, and envying, and anger, and obstinacy, and slandering, and murmuring, and insolence, and commotion;

21 தேநாஹம்’ யுஷ்மத்ஸமீபம்’ புநராக³த்ய மதீ³யேஸ்²வரேண நமயிஷ்யே, பூர்வ்வம்’ க்ரு’தபாபாந் லோகாந் ஸ்வீயாஸு²சிதாவேஸ்²யாக³மநலம்படதாசரணாத்³ அநுதாபம் அக்ரு’தவந்தோ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ச தாநதி⁴ மம ஸோ²கோ ஜநிஷ்யத இதி பி³பே⁴மி|

lest, when I come to you, my God should humble me; and I should mourn over many, who have sinned, and have not repented of the impurity, the whoredom, and the lasciviousness, which they have committed.
