2 கரிந்தி²ந​: 10

1 யுஷ்மத்ப்ரத்யக்ஷே நம்ர​: கிந்து பரோக்ஷே ப்ரக³ல்ப⁴​: பௌலோ(அ)ஹம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய க்ஷாந்த்யா விநீத்யா ச யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரார்த²யே|

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I, who present indeed am lowly among you, but am bold toward you when absent;

2 மம ப்ரார்த²நீயமித³ம்’ வயம்’ யை​: ஸா²ரீரிகாசாரிணோ மந்யாமஹே தாந் ப்ரதி யாம்’ ப்ரக³ல்ப⁴தாம்’ ப்ரகாஸ²யிதும்’ நிஸ்²சிநோமி ஸா ப்ரக³ல்ப⁴தா ஸமாக³தேந மயாசரிதவ்யா ந ப⁴வது|

but I entreat you, that I may not when I am present be bold with that confidence wherewith I think of being bold towards some, who think of us as walking according to the flesh.

3 யத​: ஸ²ரீரே சரந்தோ(அ)பி வயம்’ ஸா²ரீரிகம்’ யுத்³த⁴ம்’ ந குர்ம்ம​: |

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,

4 அஸ்மாகம்’ யுத்³தா⁴ஸ்த்ராணி ச ந ஸா²ரீரிகாநி கிந்த்வீஸ்²வரேண து³ர்க³ப⁴ஞ்ஜநாய ப்ரப³லாநி ப⁴வந்தி,

(for the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds, )

5 தைஸ்²ச வயம்’ விதர்காந் ஈஸ்²வரீயதத்த்வஜ்ஞாநஸ்ய ப்ரதிப³ந்தி⁴காம்’ ஸர்வ்வாம்’ சித்தஸமுந்நதிஞ்ச நிபாதயாம​: ஸர்வ்வஸங்கல்பஞ்ச ப³ந்தி³நம்’ க்ரு’த்வா க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹிணம்’ குர்ம்ம​: ,

casting down reasonings, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every purpose into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

6 யுஷ்மாகம் ஆஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹித்வே ஸித்³தே⁴ ஸதி ஸர்வ்வஸ்யாஜ்ஞாலங்க⁴நஸ்ய ப்ரதீகாரம்’ கர்த்தும் உத்³யதா ஆஸ்மஹே ச|

and being in readiness to punish every disobedience, when the measure of your obedience shall be full.

7 யத்³ த்³ரு’ஷ்டிகோ³சரம்’ தத்³ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்த்³ரு’ஸ்²யதாம்’| அஹம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய லோக இதி ஸ்வமநஸி யேந விஜ்ஞாயதே ஸ யதா² க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ப⁴வதி வயம் அபி ததா² க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ப⁴வாம இதி புநர்விவிச்ய தேந பு³த்⁴யதாம்’|

Ye look at the outward appearance. If any one trusteth to himself that he belongeth to Christ, let him of himself consider this again, that as he belongeth to Christ, so also do we.

8 யுஷ்மாகம்’ நிபாதாய தந்நஹி கிந்து நிஷ்டா²யை ப்ரபு⁴நா த³த்தம்’ யத³ஸ்மாகம்’ ஸாமர்த்²யம்’ தேந யத்³யபி கிஞ்சித்³ அதி⁴கம்’ ஸ்²லாகே⁴ ததா²பி தஸ்மாந்ந த்ரபிஷ்யே|

For even if I should boast still more highly of our authority, which the Lord gave us for building you up, and not pulling you down, I should not be put to shame;

9 அஹம்’ பத்ரை ர்யுஷ்மாந் த்ராஸயாமி யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரேதந்ந மந்யதாம்’|

that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by my letters.

10 தஸ்ய பத்ராணி கு³ருதராணி ப்ரப³லாநி ச ப⁴வந்தி கிந்து தஸ்ய ஸா²ரீரஸாக்ஷாத்காரோ து³ர்ப்³ப³ல ஆலாபஸ்²ச துச்ச²நீய இதி கைஸ்²சித்³ உச்யதே|

For his letters, saith one, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

11 கிந்து பரோக்ஷே பத்ரை ர்பா⁴ஷமாணா வயம்’ யாத்³ரு’ஸா²​: ப்ரகாஸா²மஹே ப்ரத்யக்ஷே கர்ம்ம குர்வ்வந்தோ(அ)பி தாத்³ரு’ஸா² ஏவ ப்ரகாஸி²ஷ்யாமஹே தத் தாத்³ரு’ஸே²ந வாசாலேந ஜ்ஞாயதாம்’|

Let such a one count upon this, that such as we are in word by letters when absent, such will we be also in deed when present.

12 ஸ்வப்ரஸ²ம்’ஸகாநாம்’ கேஷாஞ்சிந்மத்⁴யே ஸ்வாந் க³ணயிதும்’ தை​: ஸ்வாந் உபமாதும்’ வா வயம்’ ப்ரக³ல்பா⁴ ந ப⁴வாம​: , யதஸ்தே ஸ்வபரிமாணேந ஸ்வாந் பரிமிமதே ஸ்வைஸ்²ச ஸ்வாந் உபமிப⁴தே தஸ்மாத் நிர்ப்³போ³தா⁴ ப⁴வந்தி ச|

For we do not venture to reckon ourselves among, or compare ourselves with, some of those who commend themselves; but they, measuring themselves among themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are not wise.

13 வயம் அபரிமிதேந ந ஸ்²லாகி⁴ஷ்யாமஹே கிந்த்வீஸ்²வரேண ஸ்வரஜ்ஜ்வா யுஷ்மத்³தே³ஸ²கா³மி யத் பரிமாணம் அஸ்மத³ர்த²ம்’ நிரூபிதம்’ தேநைவ ஸ்²லாகி⁴ஷ்யாமஹே|

But we will not boast of things that are without our measure, but according to the measure of the line which God allotted us, —a measure to reach even to you.

14 யுஷ்மாகம்’ தே³ஸோ²(அ)ஸ்மாபி⁴ரக³ந்தவ்யஸ்தஸ்மாத்³ வயம்’ ஸ்வஸீமாம் உல்லங்கா⁴மஹே தந்நஹி யத​: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸுஸம்’வாதே³நாபரேஷாம்’ ப்ராக்³ வயமேவ யுஷ்மாந் ப்ராப்தவந்த​: |

For we do not stretch ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not to you; (for as far as even to you did we come, in the gospel of Christ; )

15 வயம்’ ஸ்வஸீமாம் உல்லங்க்⁴ய பரக்ஷேத்ரேண ஸ்²லாகா⁴மஹே தந்நஹி, கிஞ்ச யுஷ்மாகம்’ விஸ்²வாஸே வ்ரு’த்³தி⁴ம்’ க³தே யுஷ்மத்³தே³ஸே²(அ)ஸ்மாகம்’ ஸீமா யுஷ்மாபி⁴ர்தீ³ர்க⁴ம்’ விஸ்தாரயிஷ்யதே,

not boasting of things that are without measure, in other men's labors, but having hope, when your faith is increased, that our line will through you be still further extended,

16 தேந வயம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ பஸ்²சிமதி³க்ஸ்தே²ஷு ஸ்தா²நேஷு ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ கோ⁴ஷயிஷ்யாம​: , இத்த²ம்’ பரஸீமாயாம்’ பரேண யத் பரிஷ்க்ரு’தம்’ தேந ந ஸ்²லாகி⁴ஷ்யாமஹே|

so that we may preach the gospel in the regions beyond you; not boasting, in another's line, of things made ready to our hand.

17 ய​: கஸ்²சித் ஸ்²லாக⁴மாந​: ஸ்யாத் ஸ்²லாக⁴தாம்’ ப்ரபு⁴நா ஸ ஹி|

But “he that boasteth, let him boast in the Lord.”

18 ஸ்வேந ய​: ப்ரஸ²ம்’ஸ்யதே ஸ பரீக்ஷிதோ நஹி கிந்து ப்ரபு⁴நா ய​: ப்ரஸ²ம்’ஸ்யதே ஸ ஏவ பரீக்ஷித​: |

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but he whom the Lord commendeth.
