1 தீமதி²ய: 6
1 யாவந்தோ லோகா யுக³தா⁴ரிணோ தா³ஸா: ஸந்தி தே ஸ்வஸ்வஸ்வாமிநம்’ பூர்ணஸமாத³ரயோக்³யம்’ மந்யந்தாம்’ நோ சேத்³ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய நாம்ந உபதே³ஸ²ஸ்ய ச நிந்தா³ ஸம்ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
Let as many bondmen as are under yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and the teaching be not blasphemed.
2 யேஷாஞ்ச ஸ்வாமிநோ விஸ்²வாஸிந: ப⁴வந்தி தைஸ்தே ப்⁴ராத்ரு’த்வாத் நாவஜ்ஞேயா: கிந்து தே கர்ம்மப²லபோ⁴கி³நோ விஸ்²வாஸிந: ப்ரியாஸ்²ச ப⁴வந்தீதி ஹேதோ: ஸேவநீயா ஏவ, த்வம் ஏதாநி ஸி²க்ஷய ஸமுபதி³ஸ² ச|
And they that have believing masters, let them not despise [them] because they are brethren; but let them the rather serve them with subjection, because they are faithful and beloved, who profit by the good and ready service [rendered]. These things teach and exhort.
3 ய: கஸ்²சித்³ இதரஸி²க்ஷாம்’ கரோதி, அஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஹிதவாக்யாநீஸ்²வரப⁴க்தே ர்யோக்³யாம்’ ஸி²க்ஷாஞ்ச ந ஸ்வீகரோதி
If any one teach differently, and do not accede to sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the teaching which [is] according to piety,
4 ஸ த³ர்பத்⁴மாத: ஸர்வ்வதா² ஜ்ஞாநஹீநஸ்²ச விவாதை³ ர்வாக்³யுத்³தை⁴ஸ்²ச ரோக³யுக்தஸ்²ச ப⁴வதி|
he is puffed up, knowing nothing, but sick about questions and disputes of words, out of which arise envy, strife, injurious words, evil suspicions,
5 தாத்³ரு’ஸா²த்³ பா⁴வாத்³ ஈர்ஷ்யாவிரோதா⁴பவாத³து³ஷ்டாஸூயா ப்⁴ரஷ்டமநஸாம்’ ஸத்யஜ்ஞாநஹீநாநாம் ஈஸ்²வரப⁴க்திம்’ லாபோ⁴பாயம் இவ மந்யமாநாநாம்’ லோகாநாம்’ விவாதா³ஸ்²ச ஜாயந்தே தாத்³ரு’ஸே²ப்⁴யோ லோகேப்⁴யஸ்த்வம்’ ப்ரு’த²க் திஷ்ட²|
constant quarrellings of men corrupted in mind and destitute of the truth, holding gain to be [the end of] piety.
6 ஸம்’யதேச்ச²யா யுக்தா யேஸ்²வரப⁴க்தி: ஸா மஹாலாபோ⁴பாயோ ப⁴வதீதி ஸத்யம்’|
But piety with contentment is great gain.
7 ஏதஜ்ஜக³த்ப்ரவேஸ²நகாலே(அ)ஸ்மாபி⁴: கிமபி நாநாயி தத்தயஜநகாலே(அ)பி கிமபி நேதும்’ ந ஸ²க்ஷ்யத இதி நிஸ்²சிதம்’|
For we have brought nothing into the world: [it is] [manifest] that neither can we carry anything out.
8 அதஏவ கா²த்³யாந்யாச்சா²த³நாநி ச ப்ராப்யாஸ்மாபி⁴: ஸந்துஷ்டை ர்ப⁴விதவ்யம்’|
But having sustenance and covering, we will be content with these.
9 யே து த⁴நிநோ ப⁴விதும்’ சேஷ்டந்தே தே பரீக்ஷாயாம் உந்மாதே² பதந்தி யே சாபி⁴லாஷா மாநவாந் விநாஸே² நரகே ச மஜ்ஜயந்தி தாத்³ரு’ஸே²ஷ்வஜ்ஞாநாஹிதாபி⁴லாஷேஷ்வபி பதந்தி|
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many unwise and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and ruin.
10 யதோ(அ)ர்த²ஸ்ப்ரு’ஹா ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ து³ரிதாநாம்’ மூலம்’ ப⁴வதி தாமவலம்ப்³ய கேசித்³ விஸ்²வாஸாத்³ அப்⁴ரம்’ஸ²ந்த நாநாக்லேஸை²ஸ்²ச ஸ்வாந் அவித்⁴யந்|
For the love of money is [the] root of every evil; which some having aspired after, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
11 ஹே ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய லோக த்வம் ஏதேப்⁴ய: பலாய்ய த⁴ர்ம்ம ஈஸ்²வரப⁴க்தி ர்விஸ்²வாஸ: ப்ரேம ஸஹிஷ்ணுதா க்ஷாந்திஸ்²சைதாந்யாசர|
But thou, O man of God, flee these things, and pursue righteousness, piety, faith, love, endurance, meekness of spirit.
12 விஸ்²வாஸரூபம் உத்தமயுத்³த⁴ம்’ குரு, அநந்தஜீவநம் ஆலம்ப³ஸ்வ யதஸ்தத³ர்த²ம்’ த்வம் ஆஹூதோ (அ)ப⁴வ: , ப³ஹுஸாக்ஷிணாம்’ ஸமக்ஷஞ்சோத்தமாம்’ ப்ரதிஜ்ஞாம்’ ஸ்வீக்ரு’தவாந்| (aiōnios g166)
Strive earnestly [in] the good conflict of faith. Lay hold of eternal life, to which thou hast been called, and hast confessed the good confession before many witnesses. (aiōnios g166)
13 அபரம்’ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ ஜீவயிதுரீஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷாத்³ யஸ்²ச க்²ரீஷ்டோ யீஸு²: பந்தீயபீலாதஸ்ய ஸமக்ஷம் உத்தமாம்’ ப்ரதிஜ்ஞாம்’ ஸ்வீக்ரு’தவாந் தஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷாத்³ அஹம்’ த்வாம் இத³ம் ஆஜ்ஞாபயாமி|
I enjoin thee before God who preserves all things in life, and Christ Jesus who witnessed before Pontius Pilate the good confession,
14 ஈஸ்²வரேண ஸ்வஸமயே ப்ரகாஸி²தவ்யம் அஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாக³மநம்’ யாவத் த்வயா நிஷ்கலங்கத்வேந நிர்த்³தோ³ஷத்வேந ச விதீ⁴ ரக்ஷ்யதாம்’|
that thou keep the commandment spotless, irreproachable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ;
15 ஸ ஈஸ்²வர: ஸச்சிதா³நந்த³: , அத்³விதீயஸம்ராட், ராஜ்ஞாம்’ ராஜா, ப்ரபூ⁴நாம்’ ப்ரபு⁴: ,
which in its own time the blessed and only Ruler shall shew, the King of those that reign, and Lord of those that exercise lordship;
16 அமரதாயா அத்³விதீய ஆகர: , அக³ம்யதேஜோநிவாஸீ, மர்த்த்யாநாம்’ கேநாபி ந த்³ரு’ஷ்ட: கேநாபி ந த்³ரு’ஸ்²யஸ்²ச| தஸ்ய கௌ³ரவபராக்ரமௌ ஸதா³தநௌ பூ⁴யாஸ்தாம்’| ஆமேந்| (aiōnios g166)
who only has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen, nor is able to see; to whom [be] honour and eternal might. Amen. (aiōnios g166)
17 இஹலோகே யே த⁴நிநஸ்தே சித்தஸமுந்நதிம்’ சபலே த⁴நே விஸ்²வாஸஞ்ச ந குர்வ்வதாம்’ கிந்து போ⁴கா³ர்த²ம் அஸ்மப்⁴யம்’ ப்ரசுரத்வேந ஸர்வ்வதா³தா (aiōn g165)
Enjoin on those rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to trust on the uncertainty of riches; but in the God who affords us all things richly for [our] enjoyment; (aiōn g165)
18 யோ(அ)மர ஈஸ்²வரஸ்தஸ்மிந் விஸ்²வஸந்து ஸதா³சாரம்’ குர்வ்வந்து ஸத்கர்ம்மத⁴நேந த⁴நிநோ ஸுகலா தா³தாரஸ்²ச ப⁴வந்து,
to do good, to be rich in good works, to be liberal in distributing, disposed to communicate [of their substance],
19 யதா² ச ஸத்யம்’ ஜீவநம்’ பாப்நுயுஸ்ததா² பாரத்ரிகாம் உத்தமஸம்பத³ம்’ ஸஞ்சிந்வந்த்வேதி த்வயாதி³ஸ்²யந்தாம்’|
laying by for themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may lay hold of [what is] really life.
20 ஹே தீமதி²ய, த்வம் உபநிதி⁴ம்’ கோ³பய கால்பநிகவித்³யாயா அபவித்ரம்’ ப்ரலாபம்’ விரோதோ⁴க்திஞ்ச த்யஜ ச,
O Timotheus, keep the entrusted deposit, avoiding profane, vain babblings, and oppositions of false-named knowledge,
21 யத: கதிபயா லோகாஸ்தாம்’ வித்³யாமவலம்ப்³ய விஸ்²வாஸாத்³ ப்⁴ரஷ்டா அப⁴வந| ப்ரஸாத³ஸ்தவ ஸஹாயோ பூ⁴யாத்| ஆமேந்|
of which some having made profession, have missed the faith. Grace [be] with thee.
