1 தி²ஷலநீகிந​: 5

1 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர​: , காலாந் ஸமயாம்’ஸ்²சாதி⁴ யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி மம லிக²நம்’ நிஷ்ப்ரயோஜநம்’,

Now concerning the times and seasons, brothers, you have no need for anything to be written to you.

2 யதோ ராத்ரௌ யாத்³ரு’க் தஸ்கரஸ்தாத்³ரு’க் ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்தி³நம் உபஸ்தா²ஸ்யதீதி யூயம்’ ஸ்வயமேவ ஸம்யக்³ ஜாநீத²|

For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

3 ஸா²ந்தி ர்நிர்வ்விந்க⁴த்வஞ்ச வித்³யத இதி யதா³ மாநவா வதி³ஷ்யந்தி ததா³ ப்ரஸவவேத³நா யத்³வத்³ க³ர்ப்³பி⁴நீம் உபதிஷ்ட²தி தத்³வத்³ அகஸ்மாத்³ விநாஸ²ஸ்தாந் உபஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி தைருத்³தா⁴ரோ ந லப்ஸ்யதே|

When people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will certainly not escape.

4 கிந்து ஹே ப்⁴ராதர​: , யூயம் அந்த⁴காரேணாவ்ரு’தா ந ப⁴வத² தஸ்மாத் தத்³தி³நம்’ தஸ்கர இவ யுஷ்மாந் ந ப்ராப்ஸ்யதி|

But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should catch you like a thief.

5 ஸர்வ்வே யூயம்’ தீ³ப்தே​: ஸந்தாநா தி³வாயாஸ்²ச ஸந்தாநா ப⁴வத² வயம்’ நிஸா²வம்’ஸா²ஸ்திமிரவம்’ஸா² வா ந ப⁴வாம​: |

You are all sons of light and sons of the day; we are not of the night or of the darkness.

6 அதோ (அ)பரே யதா² நித்³ராக³தா​: ஸந்தி தத்³வத்³ அஸ்மாபி⁴ ர்ந ப⁴விதவ்யம்’ கிந்து ஜாக³ரிதவ்யம்’ ஸசேதநைஸ்²ச ப⁴விதவ்யம்’|

So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us be watchful and sober.

7 யே நித்³ராந்தி தே நிஸா²யாமேவ நித்³ராந்தி தே ச மத்தா ப⁴வந்தி தே ரஜந்யாமேவ மத்தா ப⁴வந்தி|

For those who sleep, sleep at night; and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.

8 கிந்து வயம்’ தி³வஸஸ்ய வம்’ஸா² ப⁴வாம​: ; அதோ (அ)ஸ்மாபி⁴ ர்வக்ஷஸி ப்ரத்யயப்ரேமரூபம்’ கவசம்’ ஸி²ரஸி ச பரித்ராணாஸா²ரூபம்’ ஸி²ரஸ்த்ரம்’ பரிதா⁴ய ஸசேதநை ர்ப⁴விதவ்யம்’|

But since we are of the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

9 யத ஈஸ்²வரோ(அ)ஸ்மாந் க்ரோதே⁴ ந நியுஜ்யாஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபு⁴நா யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டேந பரித்ராணஸ்யாதி⁴காரே நியுக்தவாந்,

For God has not appointed us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 ஜாக்³ரதோ நித்³ராக³தா வா வயம்’ யத் தேந ப்ரபு⁴நா ஸஹ ஜீவாமஸ்தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸோ(அ)ஸ்மாகம்’ க்ரு’தே ப்ராணாந் த்யக்தவாந்|

who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him.

11 அதஏவ யூயம்’ யத்³வத் குருத² தத்³வத் பரஸ்பரம்’ ஸாந்த்வயத ஸுஸ்தி²ரீகுருத்⁴வஞ்ச|

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, even as you are doing.

12 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர​: , யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யே யே ஜநா​: பரிஸ்²ரமம்’ குர்வ்வந்தி ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்நாம்நா யுஷ்மாந் அதி⁴திஷ்ட²ந்த்யுபதி³ஸ²ந்தி ச தாந் யூயம்’ ஸம்மந்யத்⁴வம்’|

Now we ask you, brothers, to recognize those who labor among you, who lead you in the Lord and admonish you,

13 ஸ்வகர்ம்மஹேதுநா ச ப்ரேம்நா தாந் அதீவாத்³ரு’யத்⁴வமிதி மம ப்ரார்த²நா, யூயம்’ பரஸ்பரம்’ நிர்வ்விரோதா⁴ ப⁴வத|

and to regard them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace with one another.

14 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர​: , யுஷ்மாந் விநயாமஹே யூயம் அவிஹிதாசாரிணோ லோகாந் ப⁴ர்த்ஸயத்⁴வம்’, க்ஷுத்³ரமநஸ​: ஸாந்த்வயத, து³ர்ப்³ப³லாந் உபகுருத, ஸர்வ்வாந் ப்ரதி ஸஹிஷ்ணவோ ப⁴வத ச|

And we urge you, brothers, to admonish those who are idle, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, and be patient toward all.

15 அபரம்’ கமபி ப்ரத்யநிஷ்டஸ்ய ப²லம் அநிஷ்டம்’ கேநாபி யந்ந க்ரியேத தத³ர்த²ம்’ ஸாவதா⁴நா ப⁴வத, கிந்து பரஸ்பரம்’ ஸர்வ்வாந் மாநவாம்’ஸ்²ச ப்ரதி நித்யம்’ ஹிதாசாரிணோ ப⁴வத|

Make sure no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always strive to do good to each other and to everyone else.

16 ஸர்வ்வதா³நந்த³த|

Rejoice always,

17 நிரந்தரம்’ ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ குருத்⁴வம்’|

pray without ceasing,

18 ஸர்வ்வவிஷயே க்ரு’தஜ்ஞதாம்’ ஸ்வீகுருத்⁴வம்’ யத ஏததே³வ க்²ரீஷ்டயீஸு²நா யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி ப்ரகாஸி²தம் ஈஸ்²வராபி⁴மதம்’|

and in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

19 பவித்ரம் ஆத்மாநம்’ ந நிர்வ்வாபயத|

Do not quench the Spirit.

20 ஈஸ்²வரீயாதே³ஸ²ம்’ நாவஜாநீத|

Do not despise prophecies,

21 ஸர்வ்வாணி பரீக்ஷ்ய யத்³ ப⁴த்³ரம்’ ததே³வ தா⁴ரயத|

but test everything; hold fast to what is good.

22 யத் கிமபி பாபரூபம்’ ப⁴வதி தஸ்மாத்³ தூ³ரம்’ திஷ்ட²த|

Avoid every form of evil.

23 ஸா²ந்திதா³யக ஈஸ்²வர​: ஸ்வயம்’ யுஷ்மாந் ஸம்பூர்ணத்வேந பவித்ராந் கரோது, அபரம் அஸ்மத்ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாக³மநம்’ யாவத்³ யுஷ்மாகம் ஆத்மாந​: ப்ராணா​: ஸ²ரீராணி ச நிகி²லாநி நிர்த்³தோ³ஷத்வேந ரக்ஷ்யந்தாம்’|

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 யோ யுஷ்மாந் ஆஹ்வயதி ஸ விஸ்²வஸநீயோ(அ)த​: ஸ தத் ஸாத⁴யிஷ்யதி|

He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

25 ஹே ப்⁴ராதர​: , அஸ்மாகம்’ க்ரு’தே ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ குருத்⁴வம்’|

Brothers, pray for us.

26 பவித்ரசும்ப³நேந ஸர்வ்வாந் ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ந் ப்ரதி ஸத்குருத்⁴வம்’|

Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.

27 பத்ரமித³ம்’ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ பவித்ராணாம்’ ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ணாம்’ ஸ்²ருதிகோ³சரே யுஷ்மாபி⁴​: பட்²யதாமிதி ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்நாம்நா யுஷ்மாந் ஸ²பயாமி|

I charge you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the holy brothers.

28 அஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாநுக்³ரதே யுஷ்மாஸு பூ⁴யாத்| ஆமேந்|
