1 பந்த-கா³லாதியா-கப்பத³கியா-ஆஸி²யா-பி³து²நியாதே³ஸே²ஷு ப்ரவாஸிநோ யே விகீர்ணலோகா:
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, unto the chosen pilgrims of the dispersion, throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, —
2 பிதுரீஸ்²வரஸ்ய பூர்வ்வநிர்ணயாத்³ ஆத்மந: பாவநேந யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ரஹணாய ஸோ²ணிதப்ரோக்ஷணாய சாபி⁴ருசிதாஸ்தாந் ப்ரதி யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ப்ரேரித: பிதர: பத்ரம்’ லிக²தி| யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரதி பா³ஹுல்யேந ஸா²ந்திரநுக்³ரஹஸ்²ச பூ⁴யாஸ்தாம்’|
[Chosen] according to the fore-knowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of Spirit, unto obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, Favour unto you, and peace, be multiplied!
3 அஸ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய தாத ஈஸ்²வரோ த⁴ந்ய: , யத: ஸ ஸ்வகீயப³ஹுக்ரு’பாதோ ம்ரு’தக³ணமத்⁴யாத்³ யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யோத்தா²நேந ஜீவநப்ரத்யாஸா²ர்த²ம் அர்த²தோ
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to his great mercy, hath regenerated us unto a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead,
4 (அ)க்ஷயநிஷ்கலங்காம்லாநஸம்பத்திப்ராப்த்யர்த²ம் அஸ்மாந் புந ர்ஜநயாமாஸ| ஸா ஸம்பத்தி: ஸ்வர்கே³ (அ)ஸ்மாகம்’ க்ரு’தே ஸஞ்சிதா திஷ்ட²தி,
Unto an inheritance, incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, reserved in the heavens for you
5 யூயஞ்சேஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸ²க்தித: ஸே²ஷகாலே ப்ரகாஸ்²யபரித்ராணார்த²ம்’ விஸ்²வாஸேந ரக்ஷ்யத்⁴வே|
who, in God’s power, are being guarded through faith unto salvation—ready to be revealed in the last ripe time:
6 தஸ்மாத்³ யூயம்’ யத்³யப்யாநந்தே³ந ப்ரபு²ல்லா ப⁴வத² ததா²பி ஸாம்ப்ரதம்’ ப்ரயோஜநஹேதோ: கியத்காலபர்ய்யந்தம்’ நாநாவித⁴பரீக்ஷாபி⁴: க்லிஸ்²யத்⁴வே|
Wherein ye exult, though, for a little, just now, if needful, put to grief in manifold temptations,
7 யதோ வஹ்நிநா யஸ்ய பரீக்ஷா ப⁴வதி தஸ்மாத் நஸ்²வரஸுவர்ணாத³பி ப³ஹுமூல்யம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ விஸ்²வாஸரூபம்’ யத் பரீக்ஷிதம்’ ஸ்வர்ணம்’ தேந யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாக³மநஸமயே ப்ரஸ²ம்’ஸாயா: ஸமாத³ரஸ்ய கௌ³ரவஸ்ய ச யோக்³யதா ப்ராப்தவ்யா|
In order that the proving of your faith—much more precious than of gold that perisheth even though, by means of fire, it is proved—may be found unto praise and glory and honour in the revealing of Jesus Christ, —
8 யூயம்’ தம்’ க்²ரீஷ்டம் அத்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வாபி தஸ்மிந் ப்ரீயத்⁴வே ஸாம்ப்ரதம்’ தம்’ ந பஸ்²யந்தோ(அ)பி தஸ்மிந் விஸ்²வஸந்தோ (அ)நிர்வ்வசநீயேந ப்ரபா⁴வயுக்தேந சாநந்தே³ந ப்ரபு²ல்லா ப⁴வத²,
Whom, not having seen, ye love, on whom, though at present not looking, but believing, ye exult with joy unspeakable and filled with glory,
9 ஸ்வவிஸ்²வாஸஸ்ய பரிணாமரூபம் ஆத்மநாம்’ பரித்ராணம்’ லப⁴த்⁴வே ச|
Being about to bear away the end of your faith—a salvation of souls:
10 யுஷ்மாஸு யோ (அ)நுக்³ரஹோ வர்த்ததே தத்³விஷயே ய ஈஸ்²வரீயவாக்யம்’ கதி²தவந்தஸ்தே ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³நஸ்தஸ்ய பரித்ராணஸ்யாந்வேஷணம் அநுஸந்தா⁴நஞ்ச க்ரு’தவந்த: |
Concerning which salvation, prophets—who concerning the favour for you, did prophesy—sought out and searched out,
11 விஸே²ஷதஸ்தேஷாமந்தர்வ்வாஸீ ய: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்யாத்மா க்²ரீஷ்டே வர்த்திஷ்யமாணாநி து³: கா²நி தத³நுகா³மிப்ரபா⁴வஞ்ச பூர்வ்வம்’ ப்ராகாஸ²யத் தேந க: கீத்³ரு’ஸோ² வா ஸமயோ நிரதி³ஸ்²யதைதஸ்யாநுஸந்தா⁴நம்’ க்ரு’தவந்த: |
Searching into what particular, or what manner, of season the Spirit of Christ which was in them was pointing to, when witnessing beforehand as to—The sufferings, for Christ, and the glories, after these, —
12 ததஸ்தை ர்விஷயைஸ்தே யந்ந ஸ்வாந் கிந்த்வஸ்மாந் உபகுர்வ்வந்த்யேதத் தேஷாம்’ நிகடே ப்ராகாஸ்²யத| யாம்’ஸ்²ச தாந் விஷயாந் தி³வ்யதூ³தா அப்யவநதஸி²ரஸோ நிரீக்ஷிதும் அபி⁴லஷந்தி தே விஷயா: ஸாம்ப்ரதம்’ ஸ்வர்கா³த் ப்ரேஷிதஸ்ய பவித்ரஸ்யாத்மந: ஸஹாய்யாத்³ யுஷ்மத்ஸமீபே ஸுஸம்’வாத³ப்ரசாரயித்ரு’பி⁴: ப்ராகாஸ்²யந்த|
Unto whom it was revealed—that, Not unto themselves, but unto us, they were ministering them, which things have, now, been announced unto you through them who have told you the good tidings with Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven: into which things messengers are coveting to obtain a nearer view.
13 அதஏவ யூயம்’ மந: கடிப³ந்த⁴நம்’ க்ரு’த்வா ப்ரபு³த்³தா⁴: ஸந்தோ யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ப்ரகாஸ²ஸமயே யுஷ்மாஸு வர்த்திஷ்யமாநஸ்யாநுக்³ரஹஸ்ய ஸம்பூர்ணாம்’ ப்ரத்யாஸா²ம்’ குருத|
Wherefore, girding up the loins of your mind, keeping sober, perseveringly direct your hope unto the favour, being borne along to you, in the revealing of Jesus Christ:
14 அபரம்’ பூர்வ்வீயாஜ்ஞாநதாவஸ்தா²யா: குத்ஸிதாபி⁴லாஷாணாம்’ யோக்³யம் ஆசாரம்’ ந குர்வ்வந்தோ யுஷ்மதா³ஹ்வாநகாரீ யதா² பவித்ரோ (அ)ஸ்தி
As obedient persons, not configuring yourselves unto your former covetings in your ignorance:
15 யூயமப்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ராஹிஸந்தாநா இவ ஸர்வ்வஸ்மிந் ஆசாரே தாத்³ரு’க் பவித்ரா ப⁴வத|
But, according as he that hath called you is holy, do, ye yourselves, also become, holy in all manner of behaviour, —
16 யதோ லிகி²தம் ஆஸ்தே, யூயம்’ பவித்ராஸ்திஷ்ட²த யஸ்மாத³ஹம்’ பவித்ர: |
Inasmuch as it is written—Holy shall ye be, because, I, am holy.
17 அபரஞ்ச யோ விநாபக்ஷபாதம் ஏகைகமாநுஷஸ்ய கர்ம்மாநுஸாராத்³ விசாரம்’ கரோதி ஸ யதி³ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ஸ்தாத ஆக்²யாயதே தர்ஹி ஸ்வப்ரவாஸஸ்ய காலோ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்பீ⁴த்யா யாப்யதாம்’|
And, if, as Father, ye are invoking him who, without respect of persons, judgeth according to each man’s work, with reverence, for the time of your sojourning, behave ye;
18 யூயம்’ நிரர்த²காத் பைத்ரு’காசாராத் க்ஷயணீயை ரூப்யஸுவர்ணாதி³பி⁴ ர்முக்திம்’ ந ப்ராப்ய
Knowing that, Not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, have ye been redeemed from your unmeaning behaviour paternally handed down,
19 நிஷ்கலங்கநிர்ம்மலமேஷஸா²வகஸ்யேவ க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ப³ஹுமூல்யேந ருதி⁴ரேண முக்திம்’ ப்ராப்தவந்த இதி ஜாநீத²|
But with precious blood, as of a lamb, unblemished and unspotted, of an Anointed One, —
20 ஸ ஜக³தோ பி⁴த்திமூலஸ்தா²பநாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ நியுக்த: கிந்து சரமதி³நேஷு யுஷ்மத³ர்த²ம்’ ப்ரகாஸி²தோ (அ)ப⁴வத்|
Foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but made manifest at a last stage of the times, for the sake of you
21 யதஸ்தேநைவ ம்ரு’தக³ணாத் தஸ்யோத்தா²பயிதரி தஸ்மை கௌ³ரவதா³தரி சேஸ்²வரே விஸ்²வஸித² தஸ்மாத்³ ஈஸ்²வரே யுஷ்மாகம்’ விஸ்²வாஸ: ப்ரத்யாஸா² சாஸ்தே|
who, through him, are faithful towards God, —Who raised him from among the dead, and glory to him gave, So that your faith and hope are directed towards God:
22 யூயம் ஆத்மநா ஸத்யமதஸ்யாஜ்ஞாக்³ரஹணத்³வாரா நிஷ்கபடாய ப்⁴ராத்ரு’ப்ரேம்நே பாவிதமநஸோ பூ⁴த்வா நிர்ம்மலாந்த: கரணை: பரஸ்பரம்’ கா³ட⁴ம்’ ப்ரேம குருத|
Having purified, your souls, by the obedience of the truth, unto unfeigned brotherly affection, from the heart, love, one another, earnestly;
23 யஸ்மாத்³ யூயம்’ க்ஷயணீயவீர்ய்யாத் நஹி கிந்த்வக்ஷயணீயவீர்ய்யாத்³ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஜீவநதா³யகேந நித்யஸ்தா²யிநா வாக்யேந புநர்ஜந்ம க்³ரு’ஹீதவந்த: | (aiōn g165)
Having been regenerated—Not out of corruptible seed, but incorruptible—through means of the word of a Living and Abiding God; (aiōn g165)
24 ஸர்வ்வப்ராணீ த்ரு’ணைஸ்துல்யஸ்தத்தேஜஸ்த்ரு’ணபுஷ்பவத்| த்ரு’ணாநி பரிஸு²ஷ்யதி புஷ்பாணி நிபதந்தி ச|
Inasmuch as—All flesh, is as grass, and, all the glory thereof, as the flower of grass, —The grass hath withered, and the flower hath fallen out,
