1 யோஹந: 5
1 யீஸு²ரபி⁴ஷிக்தஸ்த்ராதேதி ய: கஸ்²சித்³ விஸ்²வாஸிதி ஸ ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாத: ; அபரம்’ ய: கஸ்²சித் ஜநயிதரி ப்ரீயதே ஸ தஸ்மாத் ஜாதே ஜநே (அ)பி ப்ரீயதே|
Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God; and every one who loves the Father loves also Him who is the Father's Child.
2 வயம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸந்தாநேஷு ப்ரீயாமஹே தத்³ அநேந ஜாநீமோ யத்³ ஈஸ்²வரே ப்ரீயாமஹே தஸ்யாஜ்ஞா: பாலயாமஸ்²ச|
The fact that we love God Himself, and obey His commands, is a proof that we love God's children.
3 யத ஈஸ்²வரே யத் ப்ரேம தத் ததீ³யாஜ்ஞாபாலநேநாஸ்மாபி⁴: ப்ரகாஸ²யிதவ்யம்’, தஸ்யாஜ்ஞாஸ்²ச கடோ²ரா ந ப⁴வந்தி|
Love for God means obedience to His commands; and His commands are not irksome.
4 யதோ ய: கஸ்²சித்³ ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாத: ஸ ஸம்’ஸாரம்’ ஜயதி கிஞ்சாஸ்மாகம்’ யோ விஸ்²வாஸ: ஸ ஏவாஸ்மாகம்’ ஸம்’ஸாரஜயிஜய: |
For every child of God overcomes the world; and the victorious principle which has overcome the world is our faith.
5 யீஸு²ரீஸ்²வரஸ்ய புத்ர இதி யோ விஸ்²வஸிதி தம்’ விநா கோ(அ)பர: ஸம்’ஸாரம்’ ஜயதி?
Who but the man that believes that Jesus is the Son of God overcomes the world?
6 ஸோ(அ)பி⁴ஷிக்தஸ்த்ராதா யீஸு²ஸ்தோயருதி⁴ராப்⁴யாம் ஆக³த: கேவலம்’ தோயேந நஹி கிந்து தோயருதி⁴ராப்⁴யாம், ஆத்மா ச ஸாக்ஷீ ப⁴வதி யத ஆத்மா ஸத்யதாஸ்வரூப: |
Jesus Christ is He who came with water and blood; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. And it is the Spirit who gives testimony-- because the Spirit is the Truth.
7 யதோ ஹேதோ: ஸ்வர்கே³ பிதா வாத³: பவித்ர ஆத்மா ச த்ரய இமே ஸாக்ஷிண: ஸந்தி, த்ரய இமே சைகோ ப⁴வந்தி|
For there are three that give testimony-- the Spirit, the water, and the blood;
8 ததா² ப்ரு’தி²வ்யாம் ஆத்மா தோயம்’ ருதி⁴ரஞ்ச த்ரீண்யேதாநி ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³தா³தி தேஷாம்’ த்ரயாணாம் ஏகத்வம்’ ப⁴வதி ச|
and there is complete agreement between these three.
9 மாநவாநாம்’ ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ யத்³யஸ்மாபி⁴ ர்க்³ரு’ஹ்யதே தர்ஹீஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ தஸ்மாத³பி ஸ்²ரேஷ்ட²ம்’ யத: ஸ்வபுத்ரமதீ⁴ஸ்²வரேண த³த்தம்’ ஸாக்ஷ்யமித³ம்’|
If we accept the testimony of men, God's testimony is greater: for God's testimony consists of the things which He has testified about His Son.
10 ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய புத்ரே யோ விஸ்²வாஸிதி ஸ நிஜாந்தரே தத் ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ தா⁴ரயதி; ஈஸ்²வரே யோ ந விஸ்²வஸிதி ஸ தம் அந்ரு’தவாதி³நம்’ கரோதி யத ஈஸ்²வர: ஸ்வபுத்ரமதி⁴ யத் ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³த்தவாந் தஸ்மிந் ஸ ந விஸ்²வஸிதி|
He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in his own heart: he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, in that he has refused to accept the testimony which God has given about His Son.
11 தச்ச ஸாக்ஷ்யமித³ம்’ யத்³ ஈஸ்²வரோ (அ)ஸ்மப்⁴யம் அநந்தஜீவநம்’ த³த்தவாந் தச்ச ஜீவநம்’ தஸ்ய புத்ரே வித்³யதே| (aiōnios g166)
And that testimony is to the effect that God has given us the Life of the Ages, and that this Life is in His Son. (aiōnios g166)
12 ய: புத்ரம்’ தா⁴ரயதி ஸ ஜீவநம்’ தா⁴ரியதி, ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய புத்ரம்’ யோ ந தா⁴ரயதி ஸ ஜீவநம்’ ந தா⁴ரயதி|
He who has the Son has the Life: he who has not the Son of God has not the Life.
13 ஈஸ்²வரபுத்ரஸ்ய நாம்நி யுஷ்மாந் ப்ரத்யேதாநி மயா லிகி²தாநி தஸ்யாபி⁴ப்ராயோ (அ)யம்’ யத்³ யூயம் அநந்தஜீவநப்ராப்தா இதி ஜாநீயாத தஸ்யேஸ்²வரபுத்ரஸ்ய நாம்நி விஸ்²வஸேத ச| (aiōnios g166)
I write all this to you in order that you who believe in the Son of God may know for certain that you already have the Life of the Ages. (aiōnios g166)
14 தஸ்யாந்திகே (அ)ஸ்மாகம்’ யா ப்ரதிபா⁴ ப⁴வதி தஸ்யா: காரணமித³ம்’ யத்³ வயம்’ யதி³ தஸ்யாபி⁴மதம்’ கிமபி தம்’ யாசாமஹே தர்ஹி ஸோ (அ)ஸ்மாகம்’ வாக்யம்’ ஸ்²ரு’ணோதி|
And we have an assured confidence that whenever we ask anything in accordance with His will, He listens to us.
15 ஸ சாஸ்மாகம்’ யத் கிஞ்சந யாசநம்’ ஸ்²ரு’ணோதீதி யதி³ ஜாநீமஸ்தர்ஹி தஸ்மாத்³ யாசிதா வரா அஸ்மாபி⁴: ப்ராப்யந்தே தத³பி ஜாநீம: |
And since we know that He listens to us, then whatever we ask, we know that we have the things which we have asked from Him.
16 கஸ்²சித்³ யதி³ ஸ்வப்⁴ராதரம் அம்ரு’த்யுஜநகம்’ பாபம்’ குர்வ்வந்தம்’ பஸ்²யதி தர்ஹி ஸ ப்ரார்த²நாம்’ கரோது தேநேஸ்²வரஸ்தஸ்மை ஜீவநம்’ தா³ஸ்யதி, அர்த²தோ ம்ரு’த்யுஜநகம்’ பாபம்’ யேந நாகாரிதஸ்மை| கிந்து ம்ரு’த்யுஜநகம் ஏகம்’ பாபம் ஆஸ்தே தத³தி⁴ தேந ப்ரார்த²நா க்ரியதாமித்யஹம்’ ந வதா³மி|
If any one sees a brother man committing a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask and God shall give him life--for those who do not sin unto death. There is such a thing as sin unto death; for that I do not bid him make request.
17 ஸர்வ்வ ஏவாத⁴ர்ம்ம: பாபம்’ கிந்து ஸர்வ்வபாம்’ப ம்ரு’த்யுஜநகம்’ நஹி|
Any kind of wrongdoing is sin; but there is sin which is not unto death.
18 ய ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாத: ஸ பாபாசாரம்’ ந கரோதி கிந்த்வீஸ்²வராத் ஜாதோ ஜந: ஸ்வம்’ ரக்ஷதி தஸ்மாத் ஸ பாபாத்மா தம்’ ந ஸ்ப்ரு’ஸ²தீதி வயம்’ ஜாநீம: |
We know that no one who is a child of God lives in sin, but He who is God's Child keeps him, and the Evil one cannot touch him.
19 வயம் ஈஸ்²வராத் ஜாதா: கிந்து க்ரு’த்ஸ்ந: ஸம்’ஸார: பாபாத்மநோ வஸ²ம்’ க³தோ (அ)ஸ்தீதி ஜாநீம: |
We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the Evil one.
20 அபரம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய புத்ர ஆக³தவாந் வயஞ்ச யயா தஸ்ய ஸத்யமயஸ்ய ஜ்ஞாநம்’ ப்ராப்நுயாமஸ்தாத்³ரு’ஸீ²ம்’ தி⁴யம் அஸ்மப்⁴யம்’ த³த்தவாந் இதி ஜாநீமஸ்தஸ்மிந் ஸத்யமயே (அ)ர்த²தஸ்தஸ்ய புத்ரே யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டே திஷ்டா²மஸ்²ச; ஸ ஏவ ஸத்யமய ஈஸ்²வரோ (அ)நந்தஜீவநஸ்வரூபஸ்²சாஸ்தி| (aiōnios g166)
And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we know the true One, and are in union with the true One--that is, we are in union with His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and the Life of the Ages. (aiōnios g166)
21 ஹே ப்ரியபா³லகா: , யூயம்’ தே³வமூர்த்திப்⁴ய: ஸ்வாந் ரக்ஷத| ஆமேந்|
Dear children, guard yourselves from idols.
