මථිඃ 9
1 අනන්තරං යීශු ර්නෞකාමාරුහ්‍ය පුනඃ පාරමාගත්‍ය නිජග්‍රාමම් ආයයෞ|
And having embarked into the ship, He crossed over, and came into His own city.
2 තතඃ කතිපයා ජනා ඒකං පක්‍ෂාඝාතිනං ස්වට්ටෝපරි ශායයිත්වා තත්සමීපම් ආනයන්; තතෝ යීශුස්තේෂාං ප්‍රතීතිං විඥාය තං පක්‍ෂාඝාතිනං ජගාද, හේ පුත්‍ර, සුස්ථිරෝ භව, තව කලුෂස්‍ය මර්ෂණං ජාතම්|
And behold, they were bringing to Him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, Be of good cheer, child, thy sins are forgiven thee.
3 තාං කථාං නිශම්‍ය කියන්ත උපාධ්‍යායා මනඃසු චින්තිතවන්ත ඒෂ මනුජ ඊශ්වරං නින්දති|
And behold, certain ones of the scribes said among themselves; This man blasphemeth.
4 තතඃ ස තේෂාම් ඒතාදෘශීං චින්තාං විඥාය කථිතවාන්, යූයං මනඃසු කෘත ඒතාදෘශීං කුචින්තාං කුරුථ?
And Jesus seeing their thoughts said, Why do you think evil in your hearts?
5 තව පාපමර්ෂණං ජාතං, යද්වා ත්වමුත්ථාය ගච්ඡ, ද්වයෝරනයෝ ර්වාක්‍යයෝඃ කිං වාක්‍යං වක්තුං සුගමං?
For whether is it easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or, Arise, and walk about?
6 කින්තු මේදින්‍යාං කලුෂං ක්‍ෂමිතුං මනුජසුතස්‍ය සාමර්ථ්‍යමස්තීති යූයං යථා ජානීථ, තදර්ථං ස තං පක්‍ෂාඝාතිනං ගදිතවාන්, උත්තිෂ්ඨ, නිජශයනීයං ආදාය ගේහං ගච්ඡ|
But in order that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then He says to the paralytic), Having arisen, take thy bed, and depart into thy house.
7 තතඃ ස තත්ක්‍ෂණාද් උත්ථාය නිජගේහං ප්‍රස්ථිතවාන්|
And having arisen, he came away to his own house.
8 මානවා ඉත්ථං විලෝක්‍ය විස්මයං මේනිරේ, ඊශ්වරේණ මානවාය සාමර්ථ්‍යම් ඊදෘශං දත්තං ඉති කාරණාත් තං ධන්‍යං බභාෂිරේ ච|
And the multitude seeing, were astonished, and glorified God, who giveth such power to men.
9 අනන්තරං යීශුස්තත්ස්ථානාද් ගච්ඡන් ගච්ඡන් කරසංග්‍රහස්ථානේ සමුපවිෂ්ටං මථිනාමානම් ඒකං මනුජං විලෝක්‍ය තං බභාෂේ, මම පශ්චාද් ආගච්ඡ, තතඃ ස උත්ථාය තස්‍ය පශ්චාද් වව්‍රාජ|
And Jesus passing along from thence, saw a man sitting at the toll, called Matthew; and He says to him, Follow me. And having arisen up, he followed Him.
10 තතඃ පරං යීශෞ ගෘහේ භෝක්තුම් උපවිෂ්ටේ බහවඃ කරසංග්‍රාහිණඃ කලුෂිණශ්ච මානවා ආගත්‍ය තේන සාකං තස්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යෛශ්ච සාකම් උපවිවිශුඃ|
And it came to pass, He was sitting at the table in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners, having come were sitting along with Jesus and His disciples.
11 ඵිරූශිනස්තද් දෘෂ්ට්වා තස්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාන් බභාෂිරේ, යුෂ්මාකං ගුරුඃ කිං නිමිත්තං කරසංග්‍රාහිභිඃ කලුෂිභිශ්ච සාකං භුංක්තේ?
And the Pharisees seeing, said to His disciples, Wherefore does your teacher eat with publicans and sinners?
12 යීශුස්තත් ශ්‍රුත්වා තාන් ප්‍රත්‍යවදත්, නිරාමයලෝකානාං චිකිත්සකේන ප්‍රයෝජනං නාස්ති, කින්තු සාමයලෝකානාං ප්‍රයෝජනමාස්තේ|
And Jesus hearing said to them, They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick.
13 අතෝ යූයං යාත්වා වචනස්‍යාස්‍යාර්ථං ශික්‍ෂධ්වම්, දයායාං මේ යථා ප්‍රීති ර්න තථා යඥකර්ම්මණි| යතෝ(අ)හං ධාර්ම්මිකාන් ආහ්වාතුං නාගතෝ(අ)ස්මි කින්තු මනඃ පරිවර්ත්තයිතුං පාපින ආහ්වාතුම් ආගතෝ(අ)ස්මි|
But having gone, learned what this is, I wish mercy and not sacrifice: for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
14 අනන්තරං යෝහනඃ ශිෂ්‍යාස්තස්‍ය සමීපම් ආගත්‍ය කථයාමාසුඃ, ඵිරූශිනෝ වයඤ්ච පුනඃ පුනරුපවසාමඃ, කින්තු තව ශිෂ්‍යා නෝපවසන්ති, කුතඃ?
Then the disciples of John come to Him, saying, Wherefore do we and the Pharisee fast, but thy disciples do not fast?
15 තදා යීශුස්තාන් අවෝචත් යාවත් සඛීනාං සංඞ්ගේ කන්‍යායා වරස්තිෂ්ඨති, තාවත් කිං තේ විලාපං කර්ත්තුං ශක්ලුවන්ති? කින්තු යදා තේෂාං සංඞ්ගාද් වරං නයන්ති, තාදෘශඃ සමය ආගමිෂ්‍යති, තදා තේ උපවත්ස්‍යන්ති|
And Jesus said to them, The sons of the bride-chamber are not able to fast, so long as the bridegroom is with them. But the day will come, when the bride-groom must be taken from them, and then they will fast.
16 පුරාතනවසනේ කෝපි නවීනවස්ත්‍රං න යෝජයති, යස්මාත් තේන යෝජිතේන පුරාතනවසනං ඡිනත්ති තච්ඡිද්‍රඤ්ච බහුකුත්සිතං දෘශ්‍යතේ|
But no one puts a piece of new cloth on an old garment; for it takes its fullness from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
17 අන්‍යඤ්ච පුරාතනකුත්වාං කෝපි නවානගෝස්තනීරසං න නිදධාති, යස්මාත් තථා කෘතේ කුතූ ර්විදීර‍්‍ය්‍යතේ තේන ගෝස්තනීරසඃ පතති කුතූශ්ච නශ්‍යති; තස්මාත් නවීනායාං කුත්වාං නවීනෝ ගෝස්තනීරසඃ ස්ථාප්‍යතේ, තේන ද්වයෝරවනං භවති|
Neither do they put new wine in old bottles: lest the bottles are broken, and the wine poured out, and the bottles shall perish: but they put the new wine into the new bottles, and both are preserved.
18 අපරං තේනෛතත්කථාකථනකාලේ ඒකෝ(අ)ධිපතිස්තං ප්‍රණම්‍ය බභාෂේ, මම දුහිතා ප්‍රායේණෛතාවත්කාලේ මෘතා, තස්මාද් භවානාගත්‍ය තස්‍යා ගාත්‍රේ හස්තමර්පයතු, තේන සා ජීවිෂ්‍යති|
And He speaking these things to them, behold a certain ruler having come, continued to worship Him, saying, My daughter just now died: but having come put your hand on her, and she shall live.
19 තදානීං යීශුඃ ශිෂ්‍යෛඃ සාකම් උත්ථාය තස්‍ය පශ්චාද් වව්‍රාජ|
And Jesus having risen, follows him, and His disciples.
20 ඉත්‍යනන්තරේ ද්වාදශවත්සරාන් යාවත් ප්‍රදරාමයේන ශීර්ණෛකා නාරී තස්‍ය පශ්චාද් ආගත්‍ය තස්‍ය වසනස්‍ය ග්‍රන්ථිං පස්පර්ශ;
And behold, a woman, having an issue of blood twelve years, and coming to Him behind, touched the hem of His garment.
21 යස්මාත් මයා කේවලං තස්‍ය වසනං ස්පෘෂ්ට්වා ස්වාස්ථ්‍යං ප්‍රාප්ස්‍යතේ, සා නාරීති මනසි නිශ්චිතවතී|
For she continued to say within herself, If I may only touch His garment, I will be saved.
22 තතෝ යීශුර්වදනං පරාවර්ත්ත්‍ය තාං ජගාද, හේ කන්‍යේ, ත්වං සුස්ථිරා භව, තව විශ්වාසස්ත්වාං ස්වස්ථාමකාර්ෂීත්| ඒතද්වාක්‍යේ ගදිතඒව සා යෝෂිත් ස්වස්ථාභූත්|
And the woman was saved from that hour. And Jesus turning and seeing her said, Be of good cheer, daughter; thy faith hath saved thee.
23 අපරං යීශුස්තස්‍යාධ්‍යක්‍ෂස්‍ය ගේහං ගත්වා වාදකප්‍රභෘතීන් බහූන් ලෝකාන් ශබ්දායමානාන් විලෝක්‍ය තාන් අවදත්,
And Jesus having come into the house of the ruler, and seeing the flute-players, and the weeping crowd,
24 පන්ථානං ත්‍යජ, කන්‍යේයං නාම්‍රියත නිද්‍රිතාස්තේ; කථාමේතාං ශ්‍රුත්වා තේ තමුපජහසුඃ|
says to them; Retire: for the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they hooted at Him.
25 කින්තු සර්ව්වේෂු බහිෂ්කෘතේෂු සෝ(අ)භ්‍යන්තරං ගත්වා කන්‍යායාඃ කරං ධෘතවාන්, තේන සෝදතිෂ්ඨත්;
And when the crowd was put out, coming to her, He took her by the hand, and the damsel arose.
26 තතස්තත්කර්ම්මණෝ යශඃ කෘත්ස්නං තං දේශං ව්‍යාප්තවත්|
And this news went out into that whole country.
27 තතඃ පරං යීශුස්තස්මාත් ස්ථානාද් යාත්‍රාං චකාර; තදා හේ දායූදඃ සන්තාන, අස්මාන් දයස්ව, ඉති වදන්තෞ ද්වෞ ජනාවන්ධෞ ප්‍රෝචෛරාහූයන්තෞ තත්පශ්චාද් වව්‍රජතුඃ|
And two blind men followed Him, going thence, crying out, and saying,
28 තතෝ යීශෞ ගේහමධ්‍යං ප්‍රවිෂ්ටං තාවපි තස්‍ය සමීපම් උපස්ථිතවන්තෞ, තදානීං ස තෞ පෘෂ්ටවාන් කර්ම්මෛතත් කර්ත්තුං මම සාමර්ථ්‍යම් ආස්තේ, යුවාං කිමිති ප්‍රතීථඃ? තදා තෞ ප්‍රත්‍යූචතුඃ, සත්‍යං ප්‍රභෝ|
Have mercy on us, thou Son of David. And the blind men came to Him, having come into the house: and Jesus says to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They say to Him, Yea, Lord.
29 තදානීං ස තයෝ ර්ලෝචනානි ස්පෘශන් බභාෂේ, යුවයෝඃ ප්‍රතීත්‍යනුසාරාද් යුවයෝ ර්මඞ්ගලං භූයාත්| තේන තත්ක්‍ෂණාත් තයෝ ර්නේත්‍රාණි ප්‍රසන්නාන්‍යභවන්,
Then He touched their eyes, saying, Be it unto you according to your faith.
30 පශ්චාද් යීශුස්තෞ දෘඪමාඥාප්‍ය ජගාද, අවධත්තම් ඒතාං කථාං කෝපි මනුජෝ ම ජානීයාත්|
And their eyes were opened. And Jesus charged them, saying, See that no one know it.
31 කින්තු තෞ ප්‍රස්ථාය තස්මින් කෘත්ස්නේ දේශේ තස්‍ය කීර්ත්තිං ප්‍රකාශයාමාසතුඃ|
But they having gone out, spread abroad His fame in all that country.
32 අපරං තෞ බහිර‍්‍යාත ඒතස්මින්නන්තරේ මනුජා ඒකං භූතග්‍රස්තමූකං තස්‍ය සමීපම් ආනීතවන්තඃ|
And they going out, behold, they brought to Him a dumb man, demonized.
33 තේන භූතේ ත්‍යාජිතේ ස මූකඃ කථාං කථයිතුං ප්‍රාරභත, තේන ජනා විස්මයං විඥාය කථයාමාසුඃ, ඉස්‍රායේලෝ වංශේ කදාපි නේදෘගදෘශ්‍යත;
And the demon having been cast out, the dumb spoke. And the multitudes were astonished, saying,
34 කින්තු ඵිරූශිනඃ කථයාඤ්චක්‍රුඃ භූතාධිපතිනා ස භූතාන් ත්‍යාජයති|
Never did it so appear in Israel. And the Pharisees continued to say, He casts out the demons through the prince of the demons.
35 තතඃ පරං යීශුස්තේෂාං භජනභවන උපදිශන් රාජ්‍යස්‍ය සුසංවාදං ප්‍රචාරයන් ලෝකානාං යස්‍ය ය ආමයෝ යා ච පීඩාසීත්, තාන් ශමයන් ශමයංශ්ච සර්ව්වාණි නගරාණි ග්‍රාමාංශ්ච බභ්‍රාම|
And Jesus was going around all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and ailment.
36 අන්‍යඤ්ච මනුජාන් ව්‍යාකුලාන් අරක්‍ෂකමේෂානිව ච ත්‍යක්තාන් නිරීක්‍ෂ්‍ය තේෂු කාරුණිකඃ සන් ශිෂ්‍යාන් අවදත්,
And seeing the multitudes, He was moved in compassion in their behalf, because they were fleeced and deserted, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 ශස්‍යානි ප්‍රචුරාණි සන්ති, කින්තු ඡේත්තාරඃ ස්තෝකාඃ|
Then He says to His disciples, The harvest truly is great and the laborers are few;
38 ක්‍ෂේත්‍රං ප්‍රත්‍යපරාන් ඡේදකාන් ප්‍රහේතුං ශස්‍යස්වාමිනං ප්‍රාර්ථයධ්වම්|
therefore pray the Lord of the harvest that he may send forth laborers into His harvest.
