ප්‍රේරිතාඃ 7
1 තතඃ පරං මහායාජකඃ පෘෂ්ටවාන්, ඒෂා කථාං කිං සත්‍යා?
Then the high priest said, “Are these accusations true?”
2 තතඃ ස ප්‍රත්‍යවදත්, හේ පිතරෝ හේ භ්‍රාතරඃ සර්ව්වේ ලාකා මනාංසි නිධද්ධ්වං| අස්මාකං පූර්ව්වපුරුෂ ඉබ්‍රාහීම් හාරණ්නගරේ වාසකරණාත් පූර්ව්වං යදා අරාම්-නහරයිමදේශේ ආසීත් තදා තේජෝමය ඊශ්වරෝ දර්ශනං දත්වා
Stephen said, “Brothers and fathers, listen. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,
3 තමවදත් ත්වං ස්වදේශඥාතිමිත්‍රාණි පරිත්‍යජ්‍ය යං දේශමහං දර්ශයිෂ්‍යාමි තං දේශං ව්‍රජ|
and said to him, ‘Leave yoʋr land and yoʋr relatives, and go to a land I will show yoʋ.’
4 අතඃ ස කස්දීයදේශං විහාය හාරණ්නගරේ න්‍යවසත්, තදනන්තරං තස්‍ය පිතරි මෘතේ යත්‍ර දේශේ යූයං නිවසථ ස ඒනං දේශමාගච්ඡත්|
Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. After his father died, God relocated him to this land in which you now dwell.
5 කින්ත්වීශ්වරස්තස්මෛ කමප්‍යධිකාරම් අර්ථාද් ඒකපදපරිමිතාං භූමිමපි නාදදාත්; තදා තස්‍ය කෝපි සන්තානෝ නාසීත් තථාපි සන්තානෛඃ සාර්ද්ධම් ඒතස්‍ය දේශස්‍යාධිකාරී ත්වං භවිෂ්‍යසීති තම්ප්‍රත්‍යඞ්ගීකෘතවාන්|
He gave him no inheritance in it, not even the length of a footstep, but promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him, even though he had no child.
6 ඊශ්වර ඉත්ථම් අපරමපි කථිතවාන් තව සන්තානාඃ පරදේශේ නිවත්ස්‍යන්ති තතස්තද්දේශීයලෝකාශ්චතුඃශතවත්සරාන් යාවත් තාන් දාසත්වේ ස්ථාපයිත්වා තාන් ප්‍රති කුව්‍යවහාරං කරිෂ්‍යන්ති|
God told him that his descendants would be sojourners in a foreign land, and that the people of that land would enslave them and mistreat them for four hundred years.
7 අපරම් ඊශ්වර ඒනාං කථාමපි කථිතවාන්, යේ ලෝකාස්තාන් දාසත්වේ ස්ථාපයිෂ්‍යන්ති තාල්ලෝකාන් අහං දණ්ඩයිෂ්‍යාමි, තතඃ පරං තේ බහිර්ගතාඃ සන්තෝ මාම් අත්‍ර ස්ථානේ සේවිෂ්‍යන්තේ|
‘But I will judge the nation whom they serve as slaves,’ God said, ‘and afterward they will come out of that country and serve me in this place.’
8 පශ්චාත් ස තස්මෛ ත්වක්ඡේදස්‍ය නියමං දත්තවාන්, අත ඉස්හාකනාම්නි ඉබ්‍රාහීම ඒකපුත්‍රේ ජාතේ, අෂ්ටමදිනේ තස්‍ය ත්වක්ඡේදම් අකරෝත්| තස්‍ය ඉස්හාකඃ පුත්‍රෝ යාකූබ්, තතස්තස්‍ය යාකූබෝ(අ)ස්මාකං ද්වාදශ පූර්ව්වපුරුෂා අජායන්ත|
Then he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision, and Abraham became the father of Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day. Later Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.
9 තේ පූර්ව්වපුරුෂා ඊර්ෂ්‍යයා පරිපූර්ණා මිසරදේශං ප්‍රේෂයිතුං යූෂඵං ව්‍යක්‍රීණන්|
“The patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. But God was with him
10 කින්ත්වීශ්වරස්තස්‍ය සහායෝ භූත්වා සර්ව්වස්‍යා දුර්ගතේ රක්‍ෂිත්වා තස්මෛ බුද්ධිං දත්ත්වා මිසරදේශස්‍ය රාඥඃ ඵිරෞණඃ ප්‍රියපාත්‍රං කෘතවාන් තතෝ රාජා මිසරදේශස්‍ය ස්වීයසර්ව්වපරිවාරස්‍ය ච ශාසනපදං තස්මෛ දත්තවාන්|
and delivered him out of all his afflictions. He gave Joseph favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, king of Egypt, so Pharaoh appointed him as ruler over Egypt and over all his household.
11 තස්මින් සමයේ මිසර-කිනානදේශයෝ ර්දුර්භික්‍ෂහේතෝරතික්ලිෂ්ටත්වාත් නඃ පූර්ව්වපුරුෂා භක්‍ෂ්‍යද්‍රව්‍යං නාලභන්ත|
Then a famine came upon all the land of Egypt and Canaan, along with great suffering, and our fathers could find no food.
12 කින්තු මිසරදේශේ ශස්‍යානි සන්ති, යාකූබ් ඉමාං වාර්ත්තාං ශ්‍රුත්වා ප්‍රථමම් අස්මාකං පූර්ව්වපුරුෂාන් මිසරං ප්‍රේෂිතවාන්|
But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our fathers out the first time.
13 තතෝ ද්විතීයවාරගමනේ යූෂඵ් ස්වභ්‍රාතෘභිඃ පරිචිතෝ(අ)භවත්; යූෂඵෝ භ්‍රාතරඃ ඵිරෞණ් රාජේන පරිචිතා අභවන්|
On their second visit, Joseph made himself known to his brothers again, and Joseph's family became known to Pharaoh.
14 අනන්තරං යූෂඵ් භ්‍රාතෘගණං ප්‍රේෂ්‍ය නිජපිතරං යාකූබං නිජාන් පඤ්චාධිකසප්තතිසංඛ්‍යකාන් ඥාතිජනාංශ්ච සමාහූතවාන්|
Then Joseph sent and called for his father Jacob and all his relatives, seventy-five people in all.
15 තස්මාද් යාකූබ් මිසරදේශං ගත්වා ස්වයම් අස්මාකං පූර්ව්වපුරුෂාශ්ච තස්මින් ස්ථානේ(අ)ම්‍රියන්ත|
So Jacob went down to Egypt, and there he died, he and our fathers.
16 තතස්තේ ශිඛිමං නීතා යත් ශ්මශානම් ඉබ්‍රාහීම් මුද්‍රාදත්වා ශිඛිමඃ පිතු ර්හමෝරඃ පුත්‍රේභ්‍යඃ ක්‍රීතවාන් තත්ශ්මශානේ ස්ථාපයාඤ්චක්‍රිරේ|
Later their bodies were moved to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham had bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem.
17 තතඃ පරම් ඊශ්වර ඉබ්‍රාහීමඃ සන්නිධෞ ශපථං කෘත්වා යාං ප්‍රතිඥාං කෘතවාන් තස්‍යාඃ ප්‍රතිඥායාඃ ඵලනසමයේ නිකටේ සති ඉස්‍රායේල්ලෝකා සිමරදේශේ වර්ද්ධමානා බහුසංඛ්‍යා අභවන්|
“As the time drew near for God to fulfill the promise he had sworn to Abraham, our people increased and multiplied in Egypt
18 ශේෂේ යූෂඵං යෝ න පරිචිනෝති තාදෘශ ඒකෝ නරපතිරුපස්ථාය
until there arose another king who did not know Joseph.
19 අස්මාකං ඥාතිභිඃ සාර්ද්ධං ධූර්ත්තතාං විධාය පූර්ව්වපුරුෂාන් ප්‍රති කුව්‍යවහරණපූර්ව්වකං තේෂාං වංශනාශනාය තේෂාං නවජාතාන් ශිශූන් බහි ර්නිරක්‍ෂේපයත්|
This king dealt shrewdly with our people and mistreated our fathers, making them abandon their newborn babies so that they would not survive.
20 ඒතස්මින් සමයේ මූසා ජඥේ, ස තු පරමසුන්දරෝ(අ)භවත් තථා පිතෘගෘහේ මාසත්‍රයපර‍්‍ය්‍යන්තං පාලිතෝ(අ)භවත්|
At that time Moses was born, and he was beautiful in God's sight. For three months he was brought up in his father's house,
21 කින්තු තස්මින් බහිර්නික්‍ෂිප්තේ සති ඵිරෞණරාජස්‍ය කන්‍යා තම් උත්තෝල්‍ය නීත්වා දත්තකපුත්‍රං කෘත්වා පාලිතවතී|
and when he was abandoned, Pharaoh's daughter took him in and brought him up as her own son.
22 තස්මාත් ස මූසා මිසරදේශීයායාඃ සර්ව්වවිද්‍යායාඃ පාරදෘෂ්වා සන් වාක්‍යේ ක්‍රියායාඤ්ච ශක්තිමාන් අභවත්|
So Moses was trained in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in words and deeds.
23 ස සම්පූර්ණචත්වාරිංශද්වත්සරවයස්කෝ භූත්වා ඉස්‍රායේලීයවංශනිජභ්‍රාතෘන් සාක්‍ෂාත් කර්තුං මතිං චක්‍රේ|
“When Moses reached forty years of age, it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the sons of Israel.
24 තේෂාං ජනමේකං හිංසිතං දෘෂ්ට්වා තස්‍ය සපක්‍ෂඃ සන් හිංසිතජනම් උපකෘත්‍ය මිසරීයජනං ජඝාන|
When he saw one of them being wronged, he came to the aid of the man who was being oppressed and avenged him by striking down the Egyptian who was oppressing him.
25 තස්‍ය හස්තේනේශ්වරස්තාන් උද්ධරිෂ්‍යති තස්‍ය භ්‍රාතෘගණ ඉති ඥාස්‍යති ස ඉත්‍යනුමානං චකාර, කින්තු තේ න බුබුධිරේ|
Moses assumed that his brothers would understand that God was granting them deliverance by his hand, but they did not understand.
26 තත්පරේ (අ)හනි තේෂාම් උභයෝ ර්ජනයෝ ර්වාක්කලහ උපස්ථිතේ සති මූසාඃ සමීපං ගත්වා තයෝ ර්මේලනං කර්ත්තුං මතිං කෘත්වා කථයාමාස, හේ මහාශයෞ යුවාං භ්‍රාතරෞ පරස්පරම් අන්‍යායං කුතඃ කුරුථඃ?
The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting and urged them to make peace, saying, ‘Men, you are brothers; why are you hurting each other?’
27 තතඃ සමීපවාසිනං ප්‍රති යෝ ජනෝ(අ)න්‍යායං චකාර ස තං දූරීකෘත්‍ය කථයාමාස, අස්මාකමුපරි ශාස්තෘත්වවිචාරයිතෘත්වපදයෝඃ කස්ත්වාං නියුක්තවාන්?
But the one who was hurting his neighbor thrust Moses aside and said, ‘Who appointed yoʋ to be a ruler and judge over us?
28 හ්‍යෝ යථා මිසරීයං හතවාන් තථා කිං මාමපි හනිෂ්‍යසි?
Do yoʋ want to kill me as yoʋ killed that Egyptian yesterday?’
29 තදා මූසා ඒතාදෘශීං කථාං ශ්‍රුත්වා පලායනං චක්‍රේ, තතෝ මිදියනදේශං ගත්වා ප්‍රවාසී සන් තස්ථෞ, තතස්තත්‍ර ද්වෞ පුත්‍රෞ ජඥාතේ|
At this remark Moses fled and became a sojourner in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.
30 අනන්තරං චත්වාරිංශද්වත්සරේෂු ගතේෂු සීනයපර්ව්වතස්‍ය ප්‍රාන්තරේ ප්‍රජ්වලිතස්තම්බස්‍ය වහ්නිශිඛායාං පරමේශ්වරදූතස්තස්මෛ දර්ශනං දදෞ|
“After forty years had passed, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush.
31 මූසාස්තස්මින් දර්ශනේ විස්මයං මත්වා විශේෂං ඥාතුං නිකටං ගච්ඡති,
When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight. As he drew near to look at it, the voice of the Lord came to him:
32 ඒතස්මින් සමයේ, අහං තව පූර්ව්වපුරුෂාණාම් ඊශ්වරෝ(අ)ර්ථාද් ඉබ්‍රාහීම ඊශ්වර ඉස්හාක ඊශ්වරෝ යාකූබ ඊශ්වරශ්ච, මූසාමුද්දිශ්‍ය පරමේශ්වරස්‍යෛතාදෘශී විහායසීයා වාණී බභූව, තතඃ ස කම්පාන්විතඃ සන් පුන ර්නිරීක්‍ෂිතුං ප්‍රගල්භෝ න බභූව|
‘I am the God of yoʋr fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ Moses began to tremble and did not dare to look.
33 පරමේශ්වරස්තං ජගාද, තව පාදයෝඃ පාදුකේ මෝචය යත්‍ර තිෂ්ඨසි සා පවිත්‍රභූමිඃ|
Then the Lord said to him, ‘Remove the sandals from yoʋr feet, for the place where yoʋ are standing is holy ground.
34 අහං මිසරදේශස්ථානාං නිජලෝකානාං දුර්ද්දශාං නිතාන්තම් අපශ්‍යං, තේෂාං කාතර‍්‍ය්‍යෝක්තිඤ්ච ශ්‍රුතවාන් තස්මාත් තාන් උද්ධර්ත්තුම් අවරුහ්‍යාගමම්; ඉදානීම් ආගච්ඡ මිසරදේශං ත්වාං ප්‍රේෂයාමි|
I have surely seen the mistreatment of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. Now come, I will send yoʋ to Egypt.’
35 කස්ත්වාං ශාස්තෘත්වවිචාරයිතෘත්වපදයෝ ර්නියුක්තවාන්, ඉති වාක්‍යමුක්ත්වා තෛ ර‍්‍යෝ මූසා අවඥාතස්තමේව ඊශ්වරඃ ස්තම්බමධ්‍යේ දර්ශනදාත්‍රා තේන දූතේන ශාස්තාරං මුක්තිදාතාරඤ්ච කෘත්වා ප්‍රේෂයාමාස|
“This is the same Moses they had rejected, saying, ‘Who appointed yoʋ to be a ruler and judge?’ He is the one God sent as a ruler and redeemer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
36 ස ච මිසරදේශේ සූඵ්නාම්නි සමුද්‍රේ ච පශ්චාත් චත්වාරිංශද්වත්සරාන් යාවත් මහාප්‍රාන්තරේ නානාප්‍රකාරාණ්‍යද්භුතානි කර්ම්මාණි ලක්‍ෂණානි ච දර්ශයිත්වා තාන් බහිඃ කෘත්වා සමානිනාය|
He is the one who led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.
37 ප්‍රභුඃ පරමේශ්වරෝ යුෂ්මාකං භ්‍රාතෘගණස්‍ය මධ්‍යේ මාදෘශම් ඒකං භවිෂ්‍යද්වක්තාරම් උත්පාදයිෂ්‍යති තස්‍ය කථායාං යූයං මනෝ නිධාස්‍යථ, යෝ ජන ඉස්‍රායේලඃ සන්තානේභ්‍ය ඒනාං කථාං කථයාමාස ස ඒෂ මූසාඃ|
This is the same Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘The Lord our God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’
38 මහාප්‍රාන්තරස්ථමණ්ඩලීමධ්‍යේ(අ)පි ස ඒව සීනයපර්ව්වතෝපරි තේන සාර්ද්ධං සංලාපිනෝ දූතස්‍ය චාස්මත්පිතෘගණස්‍ය මධ්‍යස්ථඃ සන් අස්මභ්‍යං දාතව්‍යනි ජීවනදායකානි වාක්‍යානි ලේභේ|
This is the man who was with our fathers in the assembly in the wilderness when the angel spoke to him on Mount Sinai. He received a living word to give to us.
39 අස්මාකං පූර්ව්වපුරුෂාස්තම් අමාන්‍යං කත්වා ස්වේභ්‍යෝ දූරීකෘත්‍ය මිසරදේශං පරාවෘත්‍ය ගන්තුං මනෝභිරභිලෂ්‍ය හාරෝණං ජගදුඃ,
Our fathers were unwilling to obey him. Instead, they thrust him aside, and in their hearts they turned back to Egypt,
40 අස්මාකම් අග්‍රේ(අ)ග්‍රේ ගන්තුම් අස්මදර්ථං දේවගණං නිර්ම්මාහි යතෝ යෝ මූසා අස්මාන් මිසරදේශාද් බහිඃ කෘත්වානීතවාන් තස්‍ය කිං ජාතං තදස්මාභි ර්න ඥායතේ|
saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods who will go before us, for we do not know what has happened to this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt.’
41 තස්මින් සමයේ තේ ගෝවත්සාකෘතිං ප්‍රතිමාං නිර්ම්මාය තාමුද්දිශ්‍ය නෛවේද්‍යමුත්මෘජ්‍ය ස්වහස්තකෘතවස්තුනා ආනන්දිතවන්තඃ|
In those days they made an idol in the form of a calf, brought a sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced at the works of their hands.
42 තස්මාද් ඊශ්වරස්තේෂාං ප්‍රති විමුඛඃ සන් ආකාශස්ථං ජ්‍යෝතිර්ගණං පූජයිතුං තේභ්‍යෝ(අ)නුමතිං දදෞ, යාදෘශං භවිෂ්‍යද්වාදිනාං ග්‍රන්ථේෂු ලිඛිතමාස්තේ, යථා, ඉස්‍රායේලීයවංශා රේ චත්වාරිංශත්සමාන් පුරා| මහති ප්‍රාන්තරේ සංස්ථා යූයන්තු යානි ච| බලිහෝමාදිකර්ම්මාණි කෘතවන්තස්තු තානි කිං| මාං සමුද්දිශ්‍ය යුෂ්මාභිඃ ප්‍රකෘතානීති නෛව ච|
But God turned away from them and gave them up to serve the host of heaven, just as it is written in the book of the prophets: ‘Was it to me that you offered slain beasts and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
43 කින්තු වෝ මෝලකාඛ්‍යස්‍ය දේවස්‍ය දූෂ්‍යමේව ච| යුෂ්මාකං රිම්ඵනාඛ්‍යායා දේවතායාශ්ච තාරකා| ඒතයෝරුභයෝ ර්මූර්තී යුෂ්මාභිඃ පරිපූජිතේ| අතෝ යුෂ්මාංස්තු බාබේලඃ පාරං නේෂ්‍යාමි නිශ්චිතං|
No! You took up the tabernacle of Molech and the star of your god Remphan, the images you made so that you could worship them, so I will send you into exile beyond Babylon.’
44 අපරඤ්ච යන්නිදර්ශනම් අපශ්‍යස්තදනුසාරේණ දූෂ්‍යං නිර්ම්මාහි යස්මින් ඊශ්වරෝ මූසාම් ඒතද්වාක්‍යං බභාෂේ තත් තස්‍ය නිරූපිතං සාක්‍ෂ්‍යස්වරූපං දූෂ්‍යම් අස්මාකං පූර්ව්වපුරුෂෛඃ සහ ප්‍රාන්තරේ තස්ථෞ|
“Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, just as God had directed when he spoke to Moses and told him to make it according to the pattern he had seen.
45 පශ්චාත් යිහෝශූයේන සහිතෛස්තේෂාං වංශජාතෛරස්මත්පූර්ව්වපුරුෂෛඃ ස්වේෂාං සම්මුඛාද් ඊශ්වරේණ දූරීකෘතානාම් අන්‍යදේශීයානාං දේශාධිකෘතිකාලේ සමානීතං තද් දූෂ්‍යං දායූදෝධිකාරං යාවත් තත්‍ර ස්ථාන ආසීත්|
Receiving it in turn, our fathers brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations whom God drove out from their presence. It remained there until the days of David,
46 ස දායූද් පරමේශ්වරස්‍යානුග්‍රහං ප්‍රාප්‍ය යාකූබ් ඊශ්වරාර්ථම් ඒකං දූෂ්‍යං නිර්ම්මාතුං වවාඤ්ඡ;
who found favor before God and asked if he could provide a dwelling place for the God of Jacob.
47 කින්තු සුලේමාන් තදර්ථං මන්දිරම් ඒකං නිර්ම්මිතවාන්|
But it was Solomon who built a house for him.
48 තථාපි යඃ සර්ව්වෝපරිස්ථඃ ස කස්මිංශ්චිද් හස්තකෘතේ මන්දිරේ නිවසතීති නහි, භවිෂ්‍යද්වාදී කථාමේතාං කථයති, යථා,
Yet the Most High does not dwell in temples made by human hands, just as the prophet says,
49 පරේශෝ වදති ස්වර්ගෝ රාජසිංහාසනං මම| මදීයං පාදපීඨඤ්ච පෘථිවී භවති ධ්‍රුවං| තර්හි යූයං කෘතේ මේ කිං ප්‍රනිර්ම්මාස්‍යථ මන්දිරං| විශ්‍රාමාය මදීයං වා ස්ථානං කිං විද්‍යතේ ත්විහ|
‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What house will you build for me, says the Lord, or what place is there for my rest?
50 සර්ව්වාණ්‍යේතානි වස්තූනි කිං මේ හස්තකෘතානි න||
Has not my hand made all these things?’
51 හේ අනාඥාග්‍රාහකා අන්තඃකරණේ ශ්‍රවණේ චාපවිත්‍රලෝකාඃ යූයම් අනවරතං පවිත්‍රස්‍යාත්මනඃ ප්‍රාතිකූල්‍යම් ආචරථ, යුෂ්මාකං පූර්ව්වපුරුෂා යාදෘශා යූයමපි තාදෘශාඃ|
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit! As your fathers did, so you do also.
52 යුෂ්මාකං පූර්ව්වපුරුෂාඃ කං භවිෂ්‍යද්වාදිනං නාතාඩයන්? යේ තස්‍ය ධාර්ම්මිකස්‍ය ජනස්‍යාගමනකථාං කථිතවන්තස්තාන් අඝ්නන් යූයම් අධූනා විශ්වාසඝාතිනෝ භූත්වා තං ධාර්ම්මිකං ජනම් අහත|
Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become,
53 යූයං ස්වර්ගීයදූතගණේන ව්‍යවස්ථාං ප්‍රාප්‍යාපි තාං නාචරථ|
you who received the law as ordained by angels yet have not kept it.”
54 ඉමාං කථාං ශ්‍රුත්වා තේ මනඃසු බිද්ධාඃ සන්තස්තං ප්‍රති දන්තඝර්ෂණම් අකුර්ව්වන්|
When the members of the Sanhedrin heard these things, they were cut to the heart and began gnashing their teeth at him.
55 කින්තු ස්තිඵානඃ පවිත්‍රේණාත්මනා පූර්ණෝ භූත්වා ගගණං ප්‍රති ස්ථිරදෘෂ්ටිං කෘත්වා ඊශ්වරස්‍ය දක්‍ෂිණේ දණ්ඩායමානං යීශුඤ්ච විලෝක්‍ය කථිතවාන්;
But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
56 පශ්‍ය, මේඝද්වාරං මුක්තම් ඊශ්වරස්‍ය දක්‍ෂිණේ ස්ථිතං මානවසුතඤ්ච පශ්‍යාමි|
He said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
57 තදා තේ ප්‍රෝච්චෛඃ ශබ්දං කෘත්වා කර්ණේෂ්වඞ්ගුලී ර්නිධාය ඒකචිත්තීභූය තම් ආක්‍රමන්|
But they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and rushed at him with one accord.
58 පශ්චාත් තං නගරාද් බහිඃ කෘත්වා ප්‍රස්තරෛරාඝ්නන් සාක්‍ෂිණෝ ලාකාඃ ශෞලනාම්නෝ යූනශ්චරණසන්නිධෞ නිජවස්ත්‍රාණි ස්ථාපිතවන්තඃ|
Then they drove him out of the city and began stoning him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul.
59 අනන්තරං හේ ප්‍රභෝ යීශේ මදීයමාත්මානං ගෘහාණ ස්තිඵානස්‍යේති ප්‍රාර්ථනවාක්‍යවදනසමයේ තේ තං ප්‍රස්තරෛරාඝ්නන්|
They continued stoning Stephen while he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”
60 තස්මාත් ස ජානුනී පාතයිත්වා ප්‍රෝච්චෛඃ ශබ්දං කෘත්වා, හේ ප්‍රභේ පාපමේතද් ඒතේෂු මා ස්ථාපය, ඉත්‍යුක්ත්වා මහානිද්‍රාං ප්‍රාප්නෝත්|
Then he fell to his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” After saying this, he fell asleep.
