ਮਥਿਃ 27
1 ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੇ ਜਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਲੋਕਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁੰ ਹਨ੍ਤੁੰ ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਤਿਕੂਲੰ ਮਨ੍ਤ੍ਰਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ
Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
2 ਤੰ ਬਦ੍ੱਵਾ ਨੀਤ੍ਵਾ ਪਨ੍ਤੀਯਪੀਲਾਤਾਖ੍ਯਾਧਿਪੇ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ|
and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him to Pilate, the governor.
3 ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਃ ਪਰਕਰੇੱਵਰ੍ਪਯਿਤਾ ਯਿਹੂਦਾਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਦਣ੍ਡਾਜ੍ਞਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸਨ੍ਤਪ੍ਤਮਨਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਲੋਕਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨਾਨਾਂ ਸਮਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੰ ਤਾਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੀਂਸ਼ਨ੍ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਦਾਯਾਵਾਦੀਤ੍,
Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse, and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 ਏਤੰਨਿਰਾਗੋਨਰਪ੍ਰਾਣਪਰਕਰਾਰ੍ਪਣਾਤ੍ ਕਲੁਸ਼਼ੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨਹੰ| ਤਦਾ ਤ ਉਦਿਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ, ਤੇਨਾਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕਿੰ? ਤ੍ਵਯਾ ਤਦ੍ ਬੁਧ੍ਯਤਾਮ੍|
saying, "I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood." But they said, "What is that to us? You see to it."
5 ਤਤੋ ਯਿਹੂਦਾ ਮਨ੍ਦਿਰਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਤਾ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾ ਨਿਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਪ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰਸ੍ਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਇਤ੍ਵਾ ਚ ਸ੍ਵਯਮਾਤ੍ਮਾਨਮੁਦ੍ਬਬਨ੍ਧ|
He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself.
6 ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਾਸ੍ਤਾ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾ ਆਦਾਯ ਕਥਿਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ, ਏਤਾ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਃ ਸ਼ੋਣਿਤਮੂਲ੍ਯੰ ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਭਾਣ੍ਡਾਗਾਰੇ ਨ ਨਿਧਾਤਵ੍ਯਾਃ|
The chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, "It's not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood."
7 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਤੇ ਮਨ੍ਤ੍ਰਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਿਨਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨਸ੍ਥਾਨਾਯ ਤਾਭਿਃ ਕੁਲਾਲਸ੍ਯ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇਤ੍ਰਮਕ੍ਰੀਣਨ੍|
They took counsel, and bought the potter's field with them, to bury strangers in.
8 ਅਤੋ(ਅ)ਦ੍ਯਾਪਿ ਤਤ੍ਸ੍ਥਾਨੰ ਰਕ੍ਤਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇਤ੍ਰੰ ਵਦਨ੍ਤਿ|
Therefore that field was called "The Field of Blood" to this day.
9 ਇੱਥੰ ਸਤਿ ਇਸ੍ਰਾਯੇਲੀਯਸਨ੍ਤਾਨੈ ਰ੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਮੂਲ੍ਯੰ ਨਿਰੁਪਿਤੰ, ਤਸ੍ਯ ਤ੍ਰਿੰਸ਼ਨ੍ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਮਾਨੰ ਮੂਲ੍ਯੰ
Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying, "They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set, whom some of the children of Israel priced,
10 ਮਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯਾਦੇਸ਼ਾਤ੍ ਤੇਭ੍ਯ ਆਦੀਯਤ, ਤੇਨ ਚ ਕੁਲਾਲਸ੍ਯ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇਤ੍ਰੰ ਕ੍ਰੀਤਮਿਤਿ ਯਦ੍ਵਚਨੰ ਯਿਰਿਮਿਯਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਕ੍ਤੰ ਤਤ੍ ਤਦਾਸਿਧ੍ਯਤ੍|
and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord commanded me."
11 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੌ ਤਦਧਿਪਤੇਃ ਸੰਮੁਖ ਉਪਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤਿ ਸ ਤੰ ਪਪ੍ਰੱਛ, ਤ੍ਵੰ ਕਿੰ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ? ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਮਵਦਤ੍, ਤ੍ਵੰ ਸਤ੍ਯਮੁਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍|
Now Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus said to him, "You say so."
12 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨੈਰਭਿਯੁਕ੍ਤੇਨ ਤੇਨ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਾਦਿ|
When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
13 ਤਤਃ ਪੀਲਾਤੇਨ ਸ ਉਦਿਤਃ, ਇਮੇ ਤ੍ਵਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਤਿਕੂਲਤਃ ਕਤਿ ਕਤਿ ਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਦਦਤਿ, ਤਤ੍ ਤ੍ਵੰ ਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣੋਸ਼਼ਿ?
Then Pilate said to him, "Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?"
14 ਤਥਾਪਿ ਸ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮੇਕਸ੍ਯਾਪਿ ਵਚਸ ਉੱਤਰੰ ਨੋਦਿਤਵਾਨ੍; ਤੇਨ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਧਿਪਤਿ ਰ੍ਮਹਾਚਿਤ੍ਰੰ ਵਿਦਾਮਾਸ|
He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor was greatly amazed.
15 ਅਨ੍ਯੱਚ ਤਨ੍ਮਹਕਾਲੇ(ਅ)ਧਿਪਤੇਰੇਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੀ ਰਾਤਿਰਾਸੀਤ੍, ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਯੰ ਕਞ੍ਚਨ ਬਨ੍ਧਿਨੰ ਯਾਚਨ੍ਤੇ, ਤਮੇਵ ਸ ਮੋਚਯਤੀਤਿ|
Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release to the crowd one prisoner, whom they desired.
16 ਤਦਾਨੀਂ ਬਰੱਬਾਨਾਮਾ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਤ੍ ਖ੍ਯਾਤਬਨ੍ਧ੍ਯਾਸੀਤ੍|
They had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17 ਤਤਃ ਪੀਲਾਤਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਲਿਤਾਨ੍ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਅਪ੍ਰੁʼੱਛਤ੍, ਏਸ਼਼ ਬਰੱਬਾ ਬਨ੍ਧੀ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਿਖ੍ਯਾਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ਼੍ਚੈਤਯੋਃ ਕੰ ਮੋਚਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਿ? ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕਿਮੀਪ੍ਸਿਤੰ?
When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Messiah?"
18 ਤੈਰੀਰ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਯਾ ਸ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਿਤ ਇਤਿ ਸ ਜ੍ਞਾਤਵਾਨ੍|
For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.
19 ਅਪਰੰ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਸਨੋਪਵੇਸ਼ਨਕਾਲੇ ਪੀਲਾਤਸ੍ਯ ਪਤ੍ਨੀ ਭ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯੰ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਤ੍ਯ ਤਸ੍ਮੈ ਕਥਯਾਮਾਸ, ਤੰ ਧਾਰ੍ੰਮਿਕਮਨੁਜੰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਤ੍ਵਯਾ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨ ਕਰ੍ੱਤਵ੍ਯੰ; ਯਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ(ਅ)ਦ੍ਯਾਹੰ ਸ੍ਵਪ੍ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਤਕਸ਼਼੍ਟਮਲਭੇ|
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."
20 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨਾ ਬਰੱਬਾਂ ਯਾਚਿਤ੍ਵਾਦਾਤੁੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਞ੍ਚ ਹਨ੍ਤੁੰ ਸਕਲਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਾਵਰ੍ੱਤਯਨ੍|
Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
21 ਤਤੋ(ਅ)ਧਿਪਤਿਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍, ਏਤਯੋਃ ਕਮਹੰ ਮੋਚਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਿ? ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕੇੱਛਾ? ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਚੁ ਰ੍ਬਰੱਬਾਂ|
But the governor answered them, "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" They said, "Barabbas."
22 ਤਦਾ ਪੀਲਾਤਃ ਪਪ੍ਰੱਛ, ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਯੰ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੰ ਵਦਨ੍ਤਿ, ਤੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੁੰ ਕਿੰ ਕਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਿ? ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਕਥਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ, ਸ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੇਨ ਵਿਧ੍ਯਤਾਂ|
Pilate said to them, "What then should I do with Jesus, who is called Messiah?" They all said, "Let him be crucified."
23 ਤਤੋ(ਅ)ਧਿਪਤਿਰਵਾਦੀਤ੍, ਕੁਤਃ? ਕਿੰ ਤੇਨਾਪਰਾੱਧੰ? ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਤੇ ਪੁਨਰੁਚੈ ਰ੍ਜਗਦੁਃ, ਸ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੇਨ ਵਿਧ੍ਯਤਾਂ|
But he said, "Why? What evil has he done?" But they shouted all the louder, saying, "Let him be crucified."
24 ਤਦਾ ਨਿਜਵਾਕ੍ਯਮਗ੍ਰਾਹ੍ਯਮਭੂਤ੍, ਕਲਹਸ਼੍ਚਾਪ੍ਯਭੂਤ੍, ਪੀਲਾਤ ਇਤਿ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਸਮਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੰ ਤੋਯਮਾਦਾਯ ਕਰੌ ਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਲ੍ਯਾਵੋਚਤ੍, ਏਤਸ੍ਯ ਧਾਰ੍ੰਮਿਕਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਸ਼ੋਣਿਤਪਾਤੇ ਨਿਰ੍ਦੋਸ਼਼ੋ(ਅ)ਹੰ, ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿਰੇਵ ਤਦ੍ ਬੁਧ੍ਯਤਾਂ|
So Pilate, seeing that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, took water and he washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man. You see to it."
25 ਤਦਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵੋਚਨ੍, ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸ਼ੋਣਿਤਪਾਤਾਪਰਾਧੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਕਮ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਤ੍ਸਨ੍ਤਾਨਾਨਾਞ੍ਚੋਪਰਿ ਭਵਤੁ|
All the people answered, "May his blood be on us, and on our children."
26 ਤਤਃ ਸ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਮੀਪੇ ਬਰੱਬਾਂ ਮੋਚਯਾਮਾਸ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਨ੍ਤੁ ਕਸ਼਼ਾਭਿਰਾਹਤ੍ਯ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੇਨ ਵੇਧਿਤੁੰ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਾਮਾਸ|
Then he released to them Barabbas, but Jesus he flogged and delivered to be crucified.
27 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰਮ੍ ਅਧਿਪਤੇਃ ਸੇਨਾ ਅਧਿਪਤੇ ਰ੍ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਮਾਨੀਯ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪੇ ਸੇਨਾਸਮੂਹੰ ਸੰਜਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੁਃ|
Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole garrison together against him.
28 ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਵਸਨੰ ਮੋਚਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਣਲੋਹਿਤਵਰ੍ਣਵਸਨੰ ਪਰਿਧਾਪਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ
They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.
29 ਕਣ੍ਟਕਾਨਾਂ ਮੁਕੁਟੰ ਨਿਰ੍ੰਮਾਯ ਤੱਛਿਰਸਿ ਦਦੁਃ, ਤਸ੍ਯ ਦਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਣਕਰੇ ਵੇਤ੍ਰਮੇਕੰ ਦੱਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸੰਮੁਖੇ ਜਾਨੂਨਿ ਪਾਤਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ, ਹੇ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਰਾਜਨ੍, ਤੁਭ੍ਯੰ ਨਮ ਇਤ੍ਯੁਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੰ ਤਿਰਸ਼੍ਚਕ੍ਰੁਃ,
They braided a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled down before him, and mocked him, saying, "Greetings, King of the Jews."
30 ਤਤਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯ ਗਾਤ੍ਰੇ ਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਠੀਵੰ ਦਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੇਨ ਵੇਤ੍ਰੇਣ ਸ਼ਿਰ ਆਜਘ੍ਨੁਃ|
They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.
31 ਇੱਥੰ ਤੰ ਤਿਰਸ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਤਦ੍ ਵਸਨੰ ਮੋਚਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਪੁਨਰ੍ਨਿਜਵਸਨੰ ਪਰਿਧਾਪਯਾਞ੍ਚਕ੍ਰੁਃ, ਤੰ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੇਨ ਵੇਧਿਤੁੰ ਨੀਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
When they had mocked him, they took the robe off of him, and put his clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.
32 ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾੱਤੇ ਬਹਿਰ੍ਭੂਯ ਕੁਰੀਣੀਯੰ ਸ਼ਿਮੋੰਨਾਮਕਮੇਕੰ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੰ ਵੋਢੁੰ ਤਮਾਦਦਿਰੇ|
As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross.
33 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਗੁਲ੍ਗਲ੍ਤਾਮ੍ ਅਰ੍ਥਾਤ੍ ਸ਼ਿਰਸ੍ਕਪਾਲਨਾਮਕਸ੍ਥਾਨਮੁ ਪਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਤੇ ਯੀਸ਼ਵੇ ਪਿੱਤਮਿਸ਼੍ਰਿਤਾਮ੍ਲਰਸੰ ਪਾਤੁੰ ਦਦੁਃ,
They came to a place called "Golgotha," that is to say, "The place of a skull."
34 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ ਤਮਾਸ੍ਵਾਦ੍ਯ ਨ ਪਪੌ|
They gave him wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink.
35 ਤਦਾਨੀਂ ਤੇ ਤੰ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੇਨ ਸੰਵਿਧ੍ਯ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਵਸਨਾਨਿ ਗੁਟਿਕਾਪਾਤੇਨ ਵਿਭਜ੍ਯ ਜਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੁਃ, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍, ਵਿਭਜਨ੍ਤੇ(ਅ)ਧਰੀਯੰ ਮੇ ਤੇ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਃ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ| ਮਦੁੱਤਰੀਯਵਸ੍ਤ੍ਰਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਗੁਟਿਕਾਂ ਪਾਤਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਚ|| ਯਦੇਤਦ੍ਵਚਨੰ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਭਿਰੁਕ੍ਤਮਾਸੀਤ੍, ਤਦਾ ਤਦ੍ ਅਸਿਧ੍ਯਤ੍,
When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among themselves, casting a lot, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: 'They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast a lot.'
36 ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਤ੍ ਤੇ ਤਤ੍ਰੋਪਵਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਤਦ੍ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣਕਰ੍ੱਵਣਿ ਨਿਯੁਕ੍ਤਾਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਥੁਃ|
And they sat and watched him there.
37 ਅਪਰਮ੍ ਏਸ਼਼ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਿਤ੍ਯਪਵਾਦਲਿਪਿਪਤ੍ਰੰ ਤੱਛਿਰਸ ਊਰ੍ਦ੍ੱਵੇ ਯੋਜਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ|
They set up over his head the accusation against him written, "THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
38 ਤਤਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯ ਵਾਮੇ ਦਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਣੇ ਚ ਦ੍ਵੌ ਚੈਰੌ ਤੇਨ ਸਾਕੰ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੇਨ ਵਿਵਿਧੁਃ|
Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left.
39 ਤਦਾ ਪਾਨ੍ਥਾ ਨਿਜਸ਼ਿਰੋ ਲਾਡਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੰ ਨਿਨ੍ਦਨ੍ਤੋ ਜਗਦੁਃ,
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,
40 ਹੇ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਮਨ੍ਦਿਰਭਞ੍ਜਕ ਦਿਨਤ੍ਰਯੇ ਤੰਨਿਰ੍ੰਮਾਤਃ ਸ੍ਵੰ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼, ਚੇੱਤ੍ਵਮੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸੁਤਸ੍ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ਾਦਵਰੋਹ|
and saying, "You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross."
41 ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਾਧ੍ਯਾਪਕਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਤਥਾ ਤਿਰਸ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਜਗਦੁਃ,
Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, and the elders, said,
42 ਸੋ(ਅ)ਨ੍ਯਜਨਾਨਾਵਤ੍, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ੍ਵਮਵਿਤੁੰ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ| ਯਦੀਸ੍ਰਾਯੇਲੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਭਵੇਤ੍, ਤਰ੍ਹੀਦਾਨੀਮੇਵ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ਾਦਵਰੋਹਤੁ, ਤੇਨ ਤੰ ਵਯੰ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੇਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਃ|
"He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.
43 ਸ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਾਸ਼ਾਮਕਰੋਤ੍, ਯਦੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਸਨ੍ਤੁਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਤਰ੍ਹੀਦਾਨੀਮੇਵ ਤਮਵੇਤ੍, ਯਤਃ ਸ ਉਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍ ਅਹਮੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਸੁਤਃ|
He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'"
44 ਯੌ ਸ੍ਤੇਨੌ ਸਾਕੰ ਤੇਨ ਕ੍ਰੁਸ਼ੇਨ ਵਿੱਧੌ ਤੌ ਤਦ੍ਵਦੇਵ ਤੰ ਨਿਨਿਨ੍ਦਤੁਃ|
The robbers also who were crucified with him insulted him in the same way.
45 ਤਦਾ ਦ੍ਵਿਤੀਯਯਾਮਾਤ੍ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਤੀਯਯਾਮੰ ਯਾਵਤ੍ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਦੇਸ਼ੇ ਤਮਿਰੰ ਬਭੂਵ,
Now from noon until three in the afternoon there was darkness over all the land.
46 ਤ੍ਰੁʼਤੀਯਯਾਮੇ "ਏਲੀ ਏਲੀ ਲਾਮਾ ਸ਼ਿਵਕ੍ਤਨੀ", ਅਰ੍ਥਾਤ੍ ਮਦੀਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਮਦੀਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਕੁਤੋ ਮਾਮਤ੍ਯਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੀਃ? ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰੁੱਚੈਰਿਤਿ ਜਗਾਦ|
Then at about three in the afternoon Jesus called out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema shabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
47 ਤਦਾ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਥਿਤਾਃ ਕੇਚਿਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਬਭਾਸ਼਼ਿਰੇ, ਅਯਮ੍ ਏਲਿਯਮਾਹੂਯਤਿ|
Some of them who stood there, when they heard it, said, "This man is calling Elijah."
48 ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯਾਦ੍ ਏਕਃ ਸ਼ੀਘ੍ਰੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ੍ਪਞ੍ਜੰ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਤ੍ਰਾਮ੍ਲਰਸੰ ਦੱਤ੍ਵਾ ਨਲੇਨ ਪਾਤੁੰ ਤਸ੍ਮੈ ਦਦੌ|
Immediately one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink.
49 ਇਤਰੇ(ਅ)ਕਥਯਨ੍ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤ, ਤੰ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਤੁਮ੍ ਏਲਿਯ ਆਯਾਤਿ ਨਵੇਤਿ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਾਮਃ|
The rest said, "Let him be. Let us see whether Elijah comes to save him."
50 ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪੁਨਰੁਚੈਰਾਹੂਯ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਨ੍ ਜਹੌ|
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit.
51 ਤਤੋ ਮਨ੍ਦਿਰਸ੍ਯ ਵਿੱਛੇਦਵਸਨਮ੍ ਊਰ੍ਦ੍ੱਵਾਦਧੋ ਯਾਵਤ੍ ਛਿਦ੍ਯਮਾਨੰ ਦ੍ਵਿਧਾਭਵਤ੍,
And look, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom. The earth quaked and the rocks were split.
52 ਭੂਮਿਸ਼੍ਚਕਮ੍ਪੇ ਭੂਧਰੋਵ੍ਯਦੀਰ੍ੱਯਤ ਚ| ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨੇ ਮੁਕ੍ਤੇ ਭੂਰਿਪੁਣ੍ਯਵਤਾਂ ਸੁਪ੍ਤਦੇਹਾ ਉਦਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਨ੍,
The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53 ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨਾਦ੍ ਵਹਿਰ੍ਭੂਯ ਤਦੁੱਥਾਨਾਤ੍ ਪਰੰ ਪੁਣ੍ਯਪੁਰੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਬਹੁਜਨਾਨ੍ ਦਰ੍ਸ਼ਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ|
and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.
54 ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣਾਯ ਨਿਯੁਕ੍ਤਃ ਸ਼ਤਸੇਨਾਪਤਿਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਸਙ੍ਗਿਨਸ਼੍ਚ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੀਂ ਭੂਕਮ੍ਪਾਦਿਘਟਨਾਂ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟ੍ਵਾ ਭੀਤਾ ਅਵਦਨ੍, ਏਸ਼਼ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਪੁਤ੍ਰੋ ਭਵਤਿ|
Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God."
55 ਯਾ ਬਹੁਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁੰ ਸੇਵਮਾਨਾ ਗਾਲੀਲਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦਾਗਤਾਸ੍ਤਾਸਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ
Many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.
56 ਮਗ੍ਦਲੀਨੀ ਮਰਿਯਮ੍ ਯਾਕੂਬ੍ਯੋਸ਼੍ਯੋ ਰ੍ਮਾਤਾ ਯਾ ਮਰਿਯਮ੍ ਸਿਬਦਿਯਪੁਤ੍ਰਯੋ ਰ੍ਮਾਤਾ ਚ ਯੋਸ਼਼ਿਤ ਏਤਾ ਦੂਰੇ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਨ੍ਤ੍ਯੋ ਦਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੁਃ|
Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
57 ਸਨ੍ਧ੍ਯਾਯਾਂ ਸਤ੍ਯਮ੍ ਅਰਿਮਥਿਯਾਨਗਰਸ੍ਯ ਯੂਸ਼਼ਫ੍ਨਾਮਾ ਧਨੀ ਮਨੁਜੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍
When evening had come, a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself was also Jesus' disciple came.
58 ਪੀਲਾਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਃ ਕਾਯੰ ਯਯਾਚੇ, ਤੇਨ ਪੀਲਾਤਃ ਕਾਯੰ ਦਾਤੁਮ੍ ਆਦਿਦੇਸ਼|
This man went to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded that it be released.
59 ਯੂਸ਼਼ਫ੍ ਤਤ੍ਕਾਯੰ ਨੀਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ਼ੁਚਿਵਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੇਣਾੱਛਾਦ੍ਯ
Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 ਸ੍ਵਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਸ਼ੈਲੇ ਯਤ੍ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨੰ ਚਖਾਨ, ਤਨ੍ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਤਤ੍ਕਾਯੰ ਨਿਧਾਯ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਿ ਵ੍ਰੁʼਹਤ੍ਪਾਸ਼਼ਾਣੰ ਦਦੌ|
and placed it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
61 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਮਗ੍ਦਲੀਨੀ ਮਰਿਯਮ੍ ਅਨ੍ਯਮਰਿਯਮ੍ ਏਤੇ ਸ੍ਤ੍ਰਿਯੌ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨਸੰਮੁਖ ਉਪਵਿਵਿਸ਼ਤੁਃ|
Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb.
62 ਤਦਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਨਿਸ੍ਤਾਰੋਤ੍ਸਵਸ੍ਯਾਯੋਜਨਦਿਨਾਤ੍ ਪਰੇ(ਅ)ਹਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਾਃ ਫਿਰੂਸ਼ਿਨਸ਼੍ਚ ਮਿਲਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਪੀਲਾਤਮੁਪਾਗਤ੍ਯਾਕਥਯਨ੍,
Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,
63 ਹੇ ਮਹੇੱਛ ਸ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਰਕੋ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਕਥਯਤ੍, ਦਿਨਤ੍ਰਯਾਤ੍ ਪਰੰ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨਾਦੁੱਥਾਸ੍ਯਾਮਿ ਤਦ੍ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਸ੍ਮਰਾਮੋ ਵਯੰ;
saying, "Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: 'After three days I will rise again.'
64 ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਤੀਯਦਿਨੰ ਯਾਵਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨੰ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਤੁਮਾਦਿਸ਼ਤੁ, ਨੋਚੇਤ੍ ਤੱਛਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਯਾਮਿਨ੍ਯਾਮਾਗਤ੍ਯ ਤੰ ਹ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਵਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ, ਸ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨਾਦੁਦਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤ੍, ਤਥਾ ਸਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਥਮਭ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤੇਃ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ੀਯਭ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਿ ਰ੍ਮਹਤੀ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He is risen from the dead;' and the last deception will be worse than the first."
65 ਤਦਾ ਪੀਲਾਤ ਅਵਾਦੀਤ੍, ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਸਮੀਪੇ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਗਣ ਆਸ੍ਤੇ, ਯੂਯੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਯਥਾ ਸਾਧ੍ਯੰ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਯਤ|
Pilate said to them, "You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can."
66 ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੱਦੂਰਪਾਸ਼਼ਾਣੰ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਙ੍ਕਿਤੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਗਣੰ ਨਿਯੋਜ੍ਯ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨੰ ਰਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਯਾਮਾਸੁਃ|
So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.
