ਮਾਰ੍ਕਃ 4
1 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਸ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰਤਟੇ ਪੁਨਰੁਪਦੇਸ਼਼੍ਟੁੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰੇਭੇ, ਤਤਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਰ ਬਹੁਜਨਾਨਾਂ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਤ੍ ਸ ਸਾਗਰੋਪਰਿ ਨੌਕਾਮਾਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਸਮੁਪਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਃ; ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਲੋਕਾਃ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰਕੂਲੇ ਤਸ੍ਥੁਃ|
Once again Jesus began to teach beside the sea, and such a large crowd gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people crowded along the shore.
2 ਤਦਾ ਸ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤਕਥਾਭਿ ਰ੍ਬਹੂਪਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍ ਉਪਦਿਸ਼ੰਸ਼੍ਚ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍,
And He taught them many things in parables, and in His teaching He said,
3 ਅਵਧਾਨੰ ਕੁਰੁਤ, ਏਕੋ ਬੀਜਵਪ੍ਤਾ ਬੀਜਾਨਿ ਵਪ੍ਤੁੰ ਗਤਃ;
“Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
4 ਵਪਨਕਾਲੇ ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਬੀਜਾਨਿ ਮਾਰ੍ਗਪਾਸ਼੍ਵੇ ਪਤਿਤਾਨਿ, ਤਤ ਆਕਾਸ਼ੀਯਪਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਣ ਏਤ੍ਯ ਤਾਨਿ ਚਖਾਦੁਃ|
And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.
5 ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਬੀਜਾਨਿ ਸ੍ਵਲ੍ਪਮ੍ਰੁʼੱਤਿਕਾਵਤ੍ਪਾਸ਼਼ਾਣਭੂਮੌ ਪਤਿਤਾਨਿ ਤਾਨਿ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਦੋਲ੍ਪਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍ ਸ਼ੀਘ੍ਰਮਙ੍ਕੁਰਿਤਾਨਿ;
Some fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly because the soil was shallow.
6 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੂਦਿਤੇ ਸੂਰ੍ੱਯੇ ਦਗ੍ਧਾਨਿ ਤਥਾ ਮੂਲਾਨੋ ਨਾਧੋਗਤਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍ ਸ਼ੁਸ਼਼੍ਕਾਣਿ ਚ|
But when the sun rose, the seedlings were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
7 ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਬੀਜਾਨਿ ਕਣ੍ਟਕਿਵਨਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਪਤਿਤਾਨਿ ਤਤਃ ਕਣ੍ਟਕਾਨਿ ਸੰਵ੍ਰੁʼਦ੍ਵ੍ਯ ਤਾਨਿ ਜਗ੍ਰਸੁਸ੍ਤਾਨਿ ਨ ਚ ਫਲਿਤਾਨਿ|
Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the seedlings, and they yielded no crop.
8 ਤਥਾ ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਬੀਜਾਨ੍ਯੁੱਤਮਭੂਮੌ ਪਤਿਤਾਨਿ ਤਾਨਿ ਸੰਵ੍ਰੁʼਦ੍ਵ੍ਯ ਫਲਾਨ੍ਯੁਤ੍ਪਾਦਿਤਾਨਿ ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਬੀਜਾਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿੰਸ਼ਦ੍ਗੁਣਾਨਿ ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਸ਼਼ਸ਼਼੍ਟਿਗੁਣਾਨਿ ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਸ਼ਤਗੁਣਾਨਿ ਫਲਾਨਿ ਫਲਿਤਵਨ੍ਤਿ|
Still other seed fell on good soil, where it sprouted, grew up, and produced a crop—one bearing thirtyfold, another sixtyfold, and another a hundredfold.”
9 ਅਥ ਸ ਤਾਨਵਦਤ੍ ਯਸ੍ਯ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਤੁੰ ਕਰ੍ਣੌ ਸ੍ਤਃ ਸ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣੋਤੁ|
Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
10 ਤਦਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਨਿਰ੍ਜਨਸਮਯੇ ਤਤ੍ਸਙ੍ਗਿਨੋ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਤੰ ਤੱਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤਵਾਕ੍ਯਸ੍ਯਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਪਪ੍ਰੱਛੁਃ|
As soon as Jesus was alone with the Twelve and those around Him, they asked Him about the parable.
11 ਤਦਾ ਸ ਤਾਨੁਦਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਰਾਜ੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਨਿਗੂਢਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਬੋੱਧੁੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕਮਧਿਕਾਰੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਤਿ;
He replied, “The mystery of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those on the outside everything is expressed in parables,
12 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੇ ਵਹਿਰ੍ਭੂਤਾਃ "ਤੇ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਃ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਨ੍ਤਿ, ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣ੍ਵਨ੍ਤਃ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣ੍ਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਨ ਬੁਧ੍ਯਨ੍ਤੇ, ਚੇੱਤੈ ਰ੍ਮਨਃਸੁ ਕਦਾਪਿ ਪਰਿਵਰ੍ੱਤਿਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਨ੍ਯਮੋਚਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤ," ਅਤੋਹੇਤੋਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤੈਰੇਵ ਤਾਨਿ ਮਯਾ ਕਥਿਤਾਨਿ|
so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven.’”
13 ਅਥ ਸ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਯੂਯੰ ਕਿਮੇਤਦ੍ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਨ ਬੁਧ੍ਯਧ੍ਵੇ? ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਕਥੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਨ੍ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤਾਨ ਭੋਤ੍ਸ੍ਯਧ੍ਵੇ?
Then Jesus said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand any of the parables?
14 ਬੀਜਵਪ੍ਤਾ ਵਾਕ੍ਯਰੂਪਾਣਿ ਬੀਜਾਨਿ ਵਪਤਿ;
The farmer sows the word.
15 ਤਤ੍ਰ ਯੇ ਯੇ ਲੋਕਾ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣ੍ਵਨ੍ਤਿ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤਮਾਤ੍ਰਾਤ੍ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ੍ ਸ਼ੀਘ੍ਰਮਾਗਤ੍ਯ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਮਨਃਸੂਪ੍ਤਾਨਿ ਤਾਨਿ ਵਾਕ੍ਯਰੂਪਾਣਿ ਬੀਜਾਨ੍ਯਪਨਯਤਿ ਤਏਵ ਉਪ੍ਤਬੀਜਮਾਰ੍ਗਪਾਰ੍ਸ਼੍ਵੇਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾਃ|
Some are like the seeds along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.
16 ਯੇ ਜਨਾ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਸਹਸਾ ਪਰਮਾਨਨ੍ਦੇਨ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲਨ੍ਤਿ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਹ੍ਰੁʼਦਿ ਸ੍ਥੈਰ੍ੱਯਾਭਾਵਾਤ੍ ਕਿਞ੍ਚਿਤ੍ ਕਾਲਮਾਤ੍ਰੰ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਤ੍ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਤ੍ ਤਦ੍ਵਾਕ੍ਯਹੇਤੋਃ
Some are like the seeds sown on rocky ground. They hear the word and at once receive it with joy.
17 ਕੁਤ੍ਰਚਿਤ੍ ਕ੍ਲੇਸ਼ੇ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਵੇ ਵਾ ਸਮੁਪਸ੍ਥਿਤੇ ਤਦੈਵ ਵਿਘ੍ਨੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਨੁਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਏਵ ਉਪ੍ਤਬੀਜਪਾਸ਼਼ਾਣਭੂਮਿਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾਃ|
But they themselves have no root, and they remain for only a season. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away.
18 ਯੇ ਜਨਾਃ ਕਥਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣ੍ਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸਾਂਸਾਰਿਕੀ ਚਿਨ੍ਤਾ ਧਨਭ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਿ ਰ੍ਵਿਸ਼਼ਯਲੋਭਸ਼੍ਚ ਏਤੇ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਤਾਂ ਕਥਾਂ ਗ੍ਰਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਤਃ ਮਾ ਵਿਫਲਾ ਭਵਤਿ (aiōn g165)
Others are like the seeds sown among the thorns. They hear the word,
19 ਤਏਵ ਉਪ੍ਤਬੀਜਸਕਣ੍ਟਕਭੂਮਿਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾਃ|
but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the desire for other things come in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
20 ਯੇ ਜਨਾ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਕਸ੍ਯ ਵਾ ਤ੍ਰਿੰਸ਼ਦ੍ਗੁਣਾਨਿ ਕਸ੍ਯ ਵਾ ਸ਼਼ਸ਼਼੍ਟਿਗੁਣਾਨਿ ਕਸ੍ਯ ਵਾ ਸ਼ਤਗੁਣਾਨਿ ਫਲਾਨਿ ਭਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਏਵ ਉਪ੍ਤਬੀਜੋਰ੍ੱਵਰਭੂਮਿਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾਃ|
Still others are like the seeds sown on good soil. They hear the word, receive it, and produce a crop—thirtyfold, sixtyfold, or a hundredfold.”
21 ਤਦਾ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਪਰਮਪਿ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਕੋਪਿ ਜਨੋ ਦੀਪਾਧਾਰੰ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਯਜ੍ਯ ਦ੍ਰੋਣਸ੍ਯਾਧਃ ਖਟ੍ਵਾਯਾ ਅਧੇ ਵਾ ਸ੍ਥਾਪਯਿਤੁੰ ਦੀਪਮਾਨਯਤਿ ਕਿੰ?
Jesus also said to them, “Does anyone bring in a lamp to put it under a basket or under a bed? Doesn’t he set it on a stand?
22 ਅਤੋਹੇਤੋ ਰ੍ਯੰਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਗ੍ ਲੁੱਕਾਯਿਤੰ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਵਸ੍ਤੁ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ; ਯਦ੍ ਵ੍ਯਕ੍ਤੰ ਨ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੰ ਗੁਪ੍ਤੰ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਵਸ੍ਤੁ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ|
For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be brought to light.
23 ਯਸ੍ਯ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਤੁੰ ਕਰ੍ਣੌ ਸ੍ਤਃ ਸ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣੋਤੁ|
If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
24 ਅਪਰਮਪਿ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਯੂਯੰ ਯਦ੍ ਯਦ੍ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੁʼਣੁਥ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਵਧਾਨਾ ਭਵਤ, ਯਤੋ ਯੂਯੰ ਯੇਨ ਪਰਿਮਾਣੇਨ ਪਰਿਮਾਥ ਤੇਨੈਵ ਪਰਿਮਾਣੇਨ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਦਰ੍ਥਮਪਿ ਪਰਿਮਾਸ੍ਯਤੇ; ਸ਼੍ਰੋਤਾਰੋ ਯੂਯੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਭ੍ਯਮਧਿਕੰ ਦਾਸ੍ਯਤੇ|
He went on to say, “Pay attention to what you hear. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and even more will be added to you.
25 ਯਸ੍ਯਾਸ਼੍ਰਯੇ ਵਰ੍ੱਧਤੇ ਤਸ੍ਮੈ ਅਪਰਮਪਿ ਦਾਸ੍ਯਤੇ, ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਸ੍ਯਾਸ਼੍ਰਯੇ ਨ ਵਰ੍ੱਧਤੇ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਯਤ੍ ਕਿਞ੍ਚਿਦਸ੍ਤਿ ਤਦਪਿ ਤਸ੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਨੇਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੇ|
For whoever has will be given more. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
26 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਰੰ ਸ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਏਕੋ ਲੋਕਃ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇਤ੍ਰੇ ਬੀਜਾਨ੍ਯੁਪ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ
Jesus also said, “The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground.
27 ਜਾਗਰਣਨਿਦ੍ਰਾਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਦਿਵਾਨਿਸ਼ੰ ਗਮਯਤਿ, ਪਰਨ੍ਤੁ ਤਦ੍ਵੀਜੰ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਜ੍ਞਾਤਰੂਪੇਣਾਙ੍ਕੁਰਯਤਿ ਵਰ੍ੱਧਤੇ ਚ;
Night and day he sleeps and wakes, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he knows not how.
28 ਯਤੋਹੇਤੋਃ ਪ੍ਰਥਮਤਃ ਪਤ੍ਰਾਣਿ ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਕਣਿਸ਼ਾਨਿ ਤਤ੍ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਤ੍ ਕਣਿਸ਼ਪੂਰ੍ਣਾਨਿ ਸ਼ਸ੍ਯਾਨਿ ਭੂਮਿਃ ਸ੍ਵਯਮੁਤ੍ਪਾਦਯਤਿ;
All by itself the earth produces a crop—first the stalk, then the head, then grain that ripens within.
29 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਫਲੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਪੱਕੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸ਼ਸ੍ਯੱਛੇਦਨਕਾਲੰ ਜ੍ਞਾਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ ਤਤ੍ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣੰ ਸ਼ਸ੍ਯਾਨਿ ਛਿਨੱਤਿ, ਅਨੇਨ ਤੁਲ੍ਯਮੀਸ਼੍ਵਰਰਾਜ੍ਯੰ|
And as soon as the grain is ripe, he swings the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
30 ਪੁਨਃ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਕਥਯਦ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਰਾਜ੍ਯੰ ਕੇਨ ਸਮੰ? ਕੇਨ ਵਸ੍ਤੁਨਾ ਸਹ ਵਾ ਤਦੁਪਮਾਸ੍ਯਾਮਿ?
Then He asked, “To what can we compare the kingdom of God? With what parable shall we present it?
31 ਤਤ੍ ਸਰ੍ਸ਼਼ਪੈਕੇਨ ਤੁਲ੍ਯੰ ਯਤੋ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਦਿ ਵਪਨਕਾਲੇ ਸਰ੍ਸ਼਼ਪਬੀਜੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਪ੍ਰੁʼਥਿਵੀਸ੍ਥਬੀਜਾਤ੍ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੁਦ੍ਰੰ
It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds sown upon the earth.
32 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਵਪਨਾਤ੍ ਪਰਮ੍ ਅਙ੍ਕੁਰਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਸ਼ਾਕਾਦ੍ ਬ੍ਰੁʼਹਦ੍ ਭਵਤਿ, ਤਸ੍ਯ ਬ੍ਰੁʼਹਤ੍ਯਃ ਸ਼ਾਖਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਜਾਯਨ੍ਤੇ ਤਤਸ੍ਤੱਛਾਯਾਂ ਪਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਣ ਆਸ਼੍ਰਯਨ੍ਤੇ|
But after it is planted, it grows to be the largest of all garden plants and puts forth great branches, so that the birds of the air nest in its shade.”
33 ਇੱਥੰ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਬੋਧਾਨੁਰੂਪੰ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਨੇਕਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤੈਸ੍ਤਾਨੁਪਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍,
With many such parables Jesus spoke the word to them, to the extent that they could understand.
34 ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤੰ ਵਿਨਾ ਕਾਮਪਿ ਕਥਾਂ ਤੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਨ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਨ੍ ਨਿਰ੍ਜਨੇ ਸ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਤਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਬੋਧਿਤਵਾਨ੍|
He did not tell them anything without using a parable. But privately He explained everything to His own disciples.
35 ਤੱਦਿਨਸ੍ਯ ਸਨ੍ਧ੍ਯਾਯਾਂ ਸ ਤੇਭ੍ਯੋ(ਅ)ਕਥਯਦ੍ ਆਗੱਛਤ ਵਯੰ ਪਾਰੰ ਯਾਮ|
When that evening came, He said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side.”
36 ਤਦਾ ਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਵਿਸ੍ਰੁʼਜ੍ਯ ਤਮਵਿਲਮ੍ਬੰ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤ੍ਵਾ ਨੌਕਯਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਸ੍ਥਿਰੇ; ਅਪਰਾ ਅਪਿ ਨਾਵਸ੍ਤਯਾ ਸਹ ਸ੍ਥਿਤਾਃ|
After they had dismissed the crowd, they took Jesus with them, since He was already in the boat. And there were other boats with Him.
37 ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਮਹਾਝਞ੍ਭ੍ਸ਼ਗਮਾਤ੍ ਨੌ ਰ੍ਦੋਲਾਯਮਾਨਾ ਤਰਙ੍ਗੇਣ ਜਲੈਃ ਪੂਰ੍ਣਾਭਵੱਚ|
Soon a violent windstorm came up, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was being swamped.
38 ਤਦਾ ਸ ਨੌਕਾਚਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ਭਾਗੇ ਉਪਧਾਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰੋ ਨਿਧਾਯ ਨਿਦ੍ਰਿਤ ਆਸੀਤ੍ ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਤੰ ਜਾਗਰਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਜਗਦੁਃ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ, ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾ ਯਾਨ੍ਤਿ ਕਿਮਤ੍ਰ ਭਵਤਸ਼੍ਚਿਨ੍ਤਾ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ?
But Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him and said, “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?”
39 ਤਦਾ ਸ ਉੱਥਾਯ ਵਾਯੁੰ ਤਰ੍ਜਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰਞ੍ਚੋਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍ ਸ਼ਾਨ੍ਤਃ ਸੁਸ੍ਥਿਰਸ਼੍ਚ ਭਵ; ਤਤੋ ਵਾਯੌ ਨਿਵ੍ਰੁʼੱਤੇ(ਅ)ਬ੍ਧਿਰ੍ਨਿਸ੍ਤਰਙ੍ਗੋਭੂਤ੍|
Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.
40 ਤਦਾ ਸ ਤਾਨੁਵਾਚ ਯੂਯੰ ਕੁਤ ਏਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਕ੍ਸ਼ਙ੍ਕਾਕੁਲਾ ਭਵਤ? ਕਿੰ ਵੋ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਾਸੋ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ?
“Why are you so afraid?” He asked. “Do you still have no faith?”
41 ਤਸ੍ਮਾੱਤੇ(ਅ)ਤੀਵਭੀਤਾਃ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ ਵਕ੍ਤੁਮਾਰੇਭਿਰੇ, ਅਹੋ ਵਾਯੁਃ ਸਿਨ੍ਧੁਸ਼੍ਚਾਸ੍ਯ ਨਿਦੇਸ਼ਗ੍ਰਾਹਿਣੌ ਕੀਦ੍ਰੁʼਗਯੰ ਮਨੁਜਃ|
Overwhelmed with fear, they asked one another, “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”
