ਯੋਹਨਃ 6
1 ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੁ ਰ੍ਗਾਲੀਲ੍ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਸ੍ਯ ਤਿਵਿਰਿਯਾਨਾਮ੍ਨਃ ਸਿਨ੍ਧੋਃ ਪਾਰੰ ਗਤਵਾਨ੍|
After this Jesus went away across the Sea of Galilee (that is the lake of Tiberias).
2 ਤਤੋ ਵ੍ਯਾਧਿਮੱਲੋਕਸ੍ਵਾਸ੍ਥ੍ਯਕਰਣਰੂਪਾਣਿ ਤਸ੍ਯਾਸ਼੍ਚਰ੍ੱਯਾਣਿ ਕਰ੍ੰਮਾਣਿ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟ੍ਵਾ ਬਹਵੋ ਜਨਾਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ ਅਗੱਛਨ੍|
A great crowd were following him, because they witnessed the signs which he was continually performing among those who were ill.
3 ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਪਰ੍ੱਵਤਮਾਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੈਃ ਸਾਕਮ੍|
Then Jesus walked up the hills and sat down there with his disciples. Now the Jewish feast, the Passover, was at hand.
4 ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਸਮਯ ਨਿਸ੍ਤਾਰੋਤ੍ਸਵਨਾਮ੍ਨਿ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨਾਮ ਉਤ੍ਸਵ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਿਤੇ
Accordingly when he looked up, and perceived a great crowd was coming unto him,
5 ਯੀਸ਼ੁ ਰ੍ਨੇਤ੍ਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਲ੍ਯ ਬਹੁਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਸ੍ਵਸਮੀਪਾਗਤਾਨ੍ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਫਿਲਿਪੰ ਪ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍ ਏਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਭੋਜਨਾਯ ਭੋਜਦ੍ਰਵ੍ਯਾਣਿ ਵਯੰ ਕੁਤ੍ਰ ਕ੍ਰੇਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਰੁਮਃ?
he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?"
6 ਵਾਕ੍ਯਮਿਦੰ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਪਰੀਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਰ੍ਥਮ੍ ਅਵਾਦੀਤ੍ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਤ੍ ਕਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ ਤਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਯਮ੍ ਅਜਾਨਾਤ੍|
He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he intended to do.
7 ਫਿਲਿਪਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵੋਚਤ੍ ਏਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮ੍ ਏਕੈਕੋ ਯਦ੍ਯਲ੍ਪਮ੍ ਅਲ੍ਪੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਨੋਤਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਪਾਦਦ੍ਵਿਸ਼ਤੇਨ ਕ੍ਰੀਤਪੂਪਾ ਅਪਿ ਨ੍ਯੂਨਾ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ|
"Thirty-five dollars worth of bread," answered Philip, "is not enough for them, so that each can take a morsel."
8 ਸ਼ਿਮੋਨ੍ ਪਿਤਰਸ੍ਯ ਭ੍ਰਾਤਾ ਆਨ੍ਦ੍ਰਿਯਾਖ੍ਯਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਣਾਮੇਕੋ ਵ੍ਯਾਹ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨ੍
One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon, said to him.
9 ਅਤ੍ਰ ਕਸ੍ਯਚਿਦ੍ ਬਾਲਕਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪੇ ਪਞ੍ਚ ਯਾਵਪੂਪਾਃ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੁਦ੍ਰਮਤ੍ਸ੍ਯਦ੍ਵਯਞ੍ਚ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਏਤਾਵਾਤਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਤੈਃ ਕਿੰ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ?
"There is a lad who has five barley loaves and a couple of fish; but what is that among so many?"
10 ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਵਦਤ੍ ਲੋਕਾਨੁਪਵੇਸ਼ਯਤ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਬਹੁਯਵਸਸੱਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍ ਪਞ੍ਚਸਹਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਨ੍ਯੂਨਾ ਅਧਿਕਾ ਵਾ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾ ਭੂਮ੍ਯਾਮ੍ ਉਪਾਵਿਸ਼ਨ੍|
"Make the men sit down," said Jesus. The ground was covered with thick grass; so the men sat down, in numbers about five thousand. "of righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you will no longer see me;
11 ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਪੂਪਾਨਾਦਾਯ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਗੁਣਾਨ੍ ਕੀਰ੍ੱਤਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸਮਾਰ੍ਪਯਤ੍ ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਤੇਭ੍ਯ ਉਪਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਲੋਕੇਭ੍ਯਃ ਪੂਪਾਨ੍ ਯਥੇਸ਼਼੍ਟਮਤ੍ਸ੍ਯਞ੍ਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਦੁਃ|
Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks he distributed them among those who were seated; in like manner also of the fish, as much as they wished,
12 ਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਪ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸ ਤਾਨਵੋਚਦ੍ ਏਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਕਿਞ੍ਚਿਦਪਿ ਯਥਾ ਨਾਪਚੀਯਤੇ ਤਥਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਣ੍ਯਵਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨਿ ਸੰਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਲੀਤ|
and when they were satisfied, he said to his disciples, "Gather up the fragments that are left, so that nothing may be wasted."
13 ਤਤਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਭੋਜਨਾਤ੍ ਪਰੰ ਤੇ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਪਞ੍ਚਾਨਾਂ ਯਾਵਪੂਪਾਨਾਂ ਅਵਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਾਨ੍ਯਖਿਲਾਨਿ ਸੰਗ੍ਰੁʼਹ੍ਯ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਡੱਲਕਾਨ੍ ਅਪੂਰਯਨ੍|
So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves - the broken pieces that were left after they had eaten.
14 ਅਪਰੰ ਯੀਸ਼ੋਰੇਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੀਮ੍ ਆਸ਼੍ਚਰ੍ੱਯਕ੍ਰਿਯਾਂ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟ੍ਵਾ ਲੋਕਾ ਮਿਥੋ ਵਕ੍ਤੁਮਾਰੇਭਿਰੇ ਜਗਤਿ ਯਸ੍ਯਾਗਮਨੰ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ ਸ ਏਵਾਯਮ੍ ਅਵਸ਼੍ਯੰ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਕ੍ੱਤਾ|
So when the people saw the sign which he had performed, they said, "This is in the truth the Prophet who is to come into the world."
15 ਅਤਏਵ ਲੋਕਾ ਆਗਤ੍ਯ ਤਮਾਕ੍ਰਮ੍ਯ ਰਾਜਾਨੰ ਕਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮ੍ ਈਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੰ ਮਾਨਸੰ ਵਿਜ੍ਞਾਯ ਪੁਨਸ਼੍ਚ ਪਰ੍ੱਵਤਮ੍ ਏਕਾਕੀ ਗਤਵਾਨ੍|
When Jesus perceived that they intended to seize him in order to make him a king, he retired again to the hill all by himself.
16 ਸਾਯੰਕਾਲ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਿਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਜਲਧਿਤਟੰ ਵ੍ਰਜਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਨਾਵਮਾਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਨਗਰਦਿਸ਼ਿ ਸਿਨ੍ਧੌ ਵਾਹਯਿਤ੍ਵਾਗਮਨ੍|
When evening came on, his disciples went down to the sea.
17 ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਸਮਯੇ ਤਿਮਿਰ ਉਪਾਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤ੍ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੀਸ਼਼ੁਸ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਮੀਪੰ ਨਾਗੱਛਤ੍|
There they got in a boat, and started across the sea for Capernaum. The darkness had already fallen,
18 ਤਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬਲਪਵਨਵਹਨਾਤ੍ ਸਾਗਰੇ ਮਹਾਤਰਙ੍ਗੋ ਭਵਿਤੁਮ੍ ਆਰੇਭੇ|
Jesus had not yet come to them, and the sea began to rise, because a strong wind was blowing.
19 ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਵਾਹਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਦ੍ਵਿਤ੍ਰਾਨ੍ ਕ੍ਰੋਸ਼ਾਨ੍ ਗਤਾਃ ਪਸ਼੍ਚਾਦ੍ ਯੀਸ਼ੁੰ ਜਲਧੇਰੁਪਰਿ ਪਦ੍ਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਵ੍ਰਜਨ੍ਤੰ ਨੌਕਾਨ੍ਤਿਕਮ੍ ਆਗੱਛਨ੍ਤੰ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਤ੍ਰਾਸਯੁਕ੍ਤਾ ਅਭਵਨ੍
After they had rowed three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking upon the sea, and drawing near to the boat, and they were terrified;
20 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ ਤਾਨੁਕ੍ੱਤਵਾਨ੍ ਅਯਮਹੰ ਮਾ ਭੈਸ਼਼੍ਟ|
but he said to them, "It is I, be not afraid."
21 ਤਦਾ ਤੇ ਤੰ ਸ੍ਵੈਰੰ ਨਾਵਿ ਗ੍ਰੁʼਹੀਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ ਤਦਾ ਤਤ੍ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣਾਦ੍ ਉੱਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਥਾਨੇ ਨੌਰੁਪਾਸ੍ਥਾਤ੍|
Then they were willing to take him on board, and immediately the boat reached the shore they were making for.
22 ਯਯਾ ਨਾਵਾ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਅਗੱਛਨ੍ ਤਦਨ੍ਯਾ ਕਾਪਿ ਨੌਕਾ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਸ੍ਥਾਨੇ ਨਾਸੀਤ੍ ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯੈਃ ਸਾਕੰ ਨਾਗਮਤ੍ ਕੇਵਲਾਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਅਗਮਨ੍ ਏਤਤ੍ ਪਾਰਸ੍ਥਾ ਲੋਕਾ ਜ੍ਞਾਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
The crowd that remained on the other side of the sea had seen that there was only one small boat there, and that Jesus had not gone aboard with his disciples, but that his disciples had gone away by themselves.
23 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰ੍ਯਤ੍ਰ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਗੁਣਾਨ੍ ਅਨੁਕੀਰ੍ੱਤ੍ਯ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਪੂਪਾਨ੍ ਅਭੋਜਯਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ਸ੍ਥਾਨਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪਸ੍ਥਤਿਵਿਰਿਯਾਯਾ ਅਪਰਾਸ੍ਤਰਣਯ ਆਗਮਨ੍|
So, on the following day, when boats came from Tiberias near the place were they had eaten bread, after the Lord had given thanks, they got into the boats themselves,
24 ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਅਪਿ ਤਤ੍ਰ ਨਾ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਲੋਕਾ ਇਤਿ ਵਿਜ੍ਞਾਯ ਯੀਸ਼ੁੰ ਗਵੇਸ਼਼ਯਿਤੁੰ ਤਰਣਿਭਿਃ ਕਫਰ੍ਨਾਹੂਮ੍ ਪੁਰੰ ਗਤਾਃ|
when they saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, and went to Capernaum to look for Jesus.
25 ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਸਰਿਤ੍ਪਤੇਃ ਪਾਰੇ ਤੰ ਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰਾਵੋਚਨ੍ ਹੇ ਗੁਰੋ ਭਵਾਨ੍ ਅਤ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਥਾਨੇ ਕਦਾਗਮਤ੍?
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"
26 ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਾਦੀਦ੍ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹੰ ਯਥਾਰ੍ਥਤਰੰ ਵਦਾਮਿ ਆਸ਼੍ਚਰ੍ੱਯਕਰ੍ੰਮਦਰ੍ਸ਼ਨਾੱਧੇਤੋ ਰ੍ਨ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪੂਪਭੋਜਨਾਤ੍ ਤੇਨ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਪ੍ਤਤ੍ਵਾਞ੍ਚ ਮਾਂ ਗਵੇਸ਼਼ਯਥ|
Jesus answered. "In solemn truth I tell you that you are looking for me, not because you saw miracles signs, but because you ate of the bread and were filled.
27 ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਯਣੀਯਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਮਾ ਸ਼੍ਰਾਮਿਸ਼਼੍ਟ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਨ੍ਤਾਯੁਰ੍ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਸ਼੍ਰਾਮ੍ਯਤ, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਮਨੁਜਪੁਤ੍ਰੋ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭ੍ਯੰ ਦਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ; ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਤਾਤ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਃ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਦਾਤ੍| (aiōnios g166)
"Labor not for food which perishes, but for the food that endures eternal life - that which the Son of man will give you; for on the Father - God - has set his seal." (aiōnios g166)
28 ਤਦਾ ਤੇ(ਅ)ਪ੍ਰੁʼੱਛਨ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਾਭਿਮਤੰ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁਮ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਾਭਿਃ ਕਿੰ ਕਰ੍ੱਤਵ੍ਯੰ?
"What are we to do habitually," they asked him, "that we may keep working the words of God?"
29 ਤਤੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਵਦਦ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੋ ਯੰ ਪ੍ਰੈਰਯਤ੍ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਨਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਾਭਿਮਤੰ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ|
"This is the work of God," answered Jesus, "that you believe on him whom He has sent you."
30 ਤਦਾ ਤੇ ਵ੍ਯਾਹਰਨ੍ ਭਵਤਾ ਕਿੰ ਲਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਣੰ ਦਰ੍ਸ਼ਿਤੰ ਯੱਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟ੍ਵਾ ਭਵਤਿ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਃ? ਤ੍ਵਯਾ ਕਿੰ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੰ?
The they said to him. "What sign, then, are you performing, so that we may see it and believe in you? What work are you doing?
31 ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪੂਰ੍ੱਵਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾ ਮਹਾਪ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਰੇ ਮਾੰਨਾਂ ਭੋਕ੍ੱਤੁੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪੁਃ ਯਥਾ ਲਿਪਿਰਾਸ੍ਤੇ| ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗੀਯਾਣਿ ਤੁ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਦਦੌ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਃ|
"Our fathers ate manna in the wilderness, as it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’"
32 ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਵਦਦ੍ ਅਹੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਤਿਯਥਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਵਦਾਮਿ ਮੂਸਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭ੍ਯੰ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗੀਯੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਨਾਦਾਤ੍ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਮਮ ਪਿਤਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭ੍ਯੰ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗੀਯੰ ਪਰਮੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਦਦਾਤਿ|
"In solemn truth I tell you," said Jesus in reply, "Moses did not give you the bread out of heaven, but my Father does give you the true bread out of heaven;
33 ਯਃ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਾਦਵਰੁਹ੍ਯ ਜਗਤੇ ਜੀਵਨੰ ਦਦਾਤਿ ਸ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਦੱਤਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਰੂਪਃ|
"for the bread of God is what come down from heaven, and gives life to the world."
34 ਤਦਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਵੋਚਨ੍ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਮਿਦੰ ਨਿਤ੍ਯਮਸ੍ਮਭ੍ਯੰ ਦਦਾਤੁ|
"Ah, Sir," said they, "evermore give us this bread."
35 ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਵਦਦ੍ ਅਹਮੇਵ ਜੀਵਨਰੂਪੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਯੋ ਜਨੋ ਮਮ ਸੰਨਿਧਿਮ੍ ਆਗੱਛਤਿ ਸ ਜਾਤੁ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੁਧਾਰ੍ੱਤੋ ਨ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ, ਤਥਾ ਯੋ ਜਨੋ ਮਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੇਤਿ ਸ ਜਾਤੁ ਤ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼ਾਰ੍ੱਤੋ ਨ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
"I myself am the bread of life," answered Jesus; "he who comes to me shall never hunger, and he that believes on me shall never thirst again.
36 ਮਾਂ ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟ੍ਵਾਪਿ ਯੂਯੰ ਨ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਿਥ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹਮ੍ ਇਤ੍ਯਵੋਚੰ|
"But as I told you, you have seen me, and yet you do not believe.
37 ਪਿਤਾ ਮਹ੍ਯੰ ਯਾਵਤੋ ਲੋਕਾਨਦਦਾਤ੍ ਤੇ ਸਰ੍ੱਵ ਏਵ ਮਮਾਨ੍ਤਿਕਮ੍ ਆਗਮਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿੱਚ ਮਮ ਸੰਨਿਧਿਮ੍ ਆਯਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ ਤੰ ਕੇਨਾਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੇਣ ਨ ਦੂਰੀਕਰਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਿ|
"Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will never reject.
38 ਨਿਜਾਭਿਮਤੰ ਸਾਧਯਿਤੁੰ ਨ ਹਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਯਿਤੁਰਭਿਮਤੰ ਸਾਧਯਿਤੁੰ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਾਦ੍ ਆਗਤੋਸ੍ਮਿ|
"For I am come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39 ਸ ਯਾਨ੍ ਯਾਨ੍ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਮਹ੍ਯਮਦਦਾਤ੍ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮੇਕਮਪਿ ਨ ਹਾਰਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ਦਿਨੇ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਾਨਹਮ੍ ਉੱਥਾਪਯਾਮਿ ਇਦੰ ਮਤ੍ਪ੍ਰੇਰਯਿਤੁਃ ਪਿਤੁਰਭਿਮਤੰ|
"And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should not lose one of all those whom he has given me, but should raise them up at the last day.
40 ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਨ੍ ਮਾਨਵਸੁਤੰ ਵਿਲੋਕ੍ਯ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਿਤਿ ਸ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ਦਿਨੇ ਮਯੋੱਥਾਪਿਤਃ ਸਨ੍ ਅਨਨ੍ਤਾਯੁਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤਿ ਇਤਿ ਮਤ੍ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕਸ੍ਯਾਭਿਮਤੰ| (aiōnios g166)
"For this is my Fathers will, that every one who beholds the Son and believes on him, shall have eternal life. and I will raise him up at the last day." (aiōnios g166)
41 ਤਦਾ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਾਦ੍ ਯਦ੍ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਮ੍ ਅਵਾਰੋਹਤ੍ ਤਦ੍ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਮ੍ ਅਹਮੇਵ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਲੋਕਾਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯੈਤਦ੍ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੇ ਵਿਵਦਮਾਨਾ ਵਕ੍ੱਤੁਮਾਰੇਭਿਰੇ
Then the Jews began to find fault with Jesus, because he said, "I am the bread which comes down out of heaven," and they kept asking.
42 ਯੂਸ਼਼ਫਃ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੋ ਯੀਸ਼ੁ ਰ੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਮਾਤਾਪਿਤਰੌ ਵਯੰ ਜਾਨੀਮ ਏਸ਼਼ ਕਿੰ ਸਏਵ ਨ? ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਾਦ੍ ਅਵਾਰੋਹਮ੍ ਇਤਿ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਕਥੰ ਵਕ੍ੱਤਿ?
"Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother? How is it that he now says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?"
43 ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਦਤ੍ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ ਮਾ ਵਿਵਦਧ੍ਵੰ
"Do not find fault with me among yourselves,"
44 ਮਤ੍ਪ੍ਰੇਰਕੇਣ ਪਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਨਾਕ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਃ ਕੋਪਿ ਜਨੋ ਮਮਾਨ੍ਤਿਕਮ੍ ਆਯਾਤੁੰ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਾਗਤੰ ਜਨੰ ਚਰਮੇ(ਅ)ਹ੍ਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੋੱਥਾਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਿ|
answered Jesus; "no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him; then I will raise him up on the last day.
45 ਤੇ ਸਰ੍ੱਵ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੇਣ ਸ਼ਿਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਿਤਾ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਦ੍ਵਾਦਿਨਾਂ ਗ੍ਰਨ੍ਥੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਲਿਪਿਰਿੱਥਮਾਸ੍ਤੇ ਅਤੋ ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਤ੍ ਪਿਤੁਃ ਸਕਾਸ਼ਾਤ੍ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ਼ਿਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਤੇ ਸ ਏਵ ਮਮ ਸਮੀਪਮ੍ ਆਗਮਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
"It is written in the Prophets, "And they shall all of them be taught of God. Every one who has listened to the father and learns from him, comes to me.
46 ਯ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਾਦ੍ ਅਜਾਯਤ ਤੰ ਵਿਨਾ ਕੋਪਿ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯੋ ਜਨਕੰ ਨਾਦਰ੍ਸ਼ਤ੍ ਕੇਵਲਃ ਸਏਵ ਤਾਤਮ੍ ਅਦ੍ਰਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੀਤ੍|
"Not that any one has seen the Father, except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father.
"I tell you solemnly that he who believes has eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
48 ਅਹਮੇਵ ਤੱਜੀਵਨਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ|
"I am the bread of life.
49 ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪੂਰ੍ੱਵਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾ ਮਹਾਪ੍ਰਾਨ੍ਤਰੇ ਮੰਨਾਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਭੂਕ੍ੱਤਾਪਿ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤਾਃ
"Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; yet they died.
50 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਦ੍ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਾਦਾਗੱਛਤ੍ ਤਦ੍ ਯਦਿ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਦ੍ ਭੁਙ੍ਕ੍ੱਤੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸ ਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ|
"This is the bread that comes down from heaven, that one may eat thereof and never die.
51 ਯੱਜੀਵਨਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਾਦਾਗੱਛਤ੍ ਸੋਹਮੇਵ ਇਦੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਯੋ ਜਨੋ ਭੁਙ੍ਕ੍ੱਤੇ ਸ ਨਿਤ੍ਯਜੀਵੀ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ| ਪੁਨਸ਼੍ਚ ਜਗਤੋ ਜੀਵਨਾਰ੍ਥਮਹੰ ਯਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਕੀਯਪਿਸ਼ਿਤੰ ਦਾਸ੍ਯਾਮਿ ਤਦੇਵ ਮਯਾ ਵਿਤਰਿਤੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਮ੍| (aiōn g165)
"I myself am the living bread that has come down from heaven. Any one who eats this bread will live forever; and moreover, the bread which I will give is my flesh, given for the life of the world." (aiōn g165)
52 ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਃ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰੰ ਵਿਵਦਮਾਨਾ ਵਕ੍ੱਤੁਮਾਰੇਭਿਰੇ ਏਸ਼਼ ਭੋਜਨਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਸ੍ਵੀਯੰ ਪਲਲੰ ਕਥਮ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਭ੍ਯੰ ਦਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ?
Then the Jews began to dispute among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
53 ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਆਵੋਚਦ੍ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨਹੰ ਯਥਾਰ੍ਥਤਰੰ ਵਦਾਮਿ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਪੁਤ੍ਰਸ੍ਯਾਮਿਸ਼਼ੇ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿ ਰ੍ਨ ਭੁਕ੍ੱਤੇ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਰੁਧਿਰੇ ਚ ਨ ਪੀਤੇ ਜੀਵਨੇਨ ਸਾਰ੍ੱਧੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਸਮ੍ਬਨ੍ਧੋ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ|
"I tell you solemnly," said Jesus, "that unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
54 ਯੋ ਮਮਾਮਿਸ਼਼ੰ ਸ੍ਵਾਦਤਿ ਮਮ ਸੁਧਿਰਞ੍ਚ ਪਿਵਤਿ ਸੋਨਨ੍ਤਾਯੁਃ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਨੋਤਿ ਤਤਃ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼਼ੇ(ਅ)ਹ੍ਨਿ ਤਮਹਮ੍ ਉੱਥਾਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਿ| (aiōnios g166)
"He who feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. (aiōnios g166)
55 ਯਤੋ ਮਦੀਯਮਾਮਿਸ਼਼ੰ ਪਰਮੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਤਥਾ ਮਦੀਯੰ ਸ਼ੋਣਿਤੰ ਪਰਮੰ ਪੇਯੰ|
"For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56 ਯੋ ਜਨੋ ਮਦੀਯੰ ਪਲਲੰ ਸ੍ਵਾਦਤਿ ਮਦੀਯੰ ਰੁਧਿਰਞ੍ਚ ਪਿਵਤਿ ਸ ਮਯਿ ਵਸਤਿ ਤਸ੍ਮਿੰਨਹਞ੍ਚ ਵਸਾਮਿ|
"He who feeds upon my flesh abides in me and I in him.
57 ਮਤ੍ਪ੍ਰੇਰਯਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਜੀਵਤਾ ਤਾਤੇਨ ਯਥਾਹੰ ਜੀਵਾਮਿ ਤਦ੍ਵਦ੍ ਯਃ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਨ੍ ਮਾਮੱਤਿ ਸੋਪਿ ਮਯਾ ਜੀਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
"Just as the living Father has sent me, and I live by the Father, so also that man who feeds on me shall live by me.
58 ਯਦ੍ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਸ੍ਵਰ੍ਗਾਦਾਗੱਛਤ੍ ਤਦਿਦੰ ਯਨ੍ਮਾੰਨਾਂ ਸ੍ਵਾਦਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪਿਤਰੋ(ਅ)ਮ੍ਰਿਯਨ੍ਤ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ਮ੍ ਇਦੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਨ ਭਵਤਿ ਇਦੰ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯੰ ਯੋ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਤਿ ਸ ਨਿਤ੍ਯੰ ਜੀਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ| (aiōn g165)
"This is the bread which came down from heaven; not such as your fathers ate and died, for he who feeds upon this bread shall live forever." (aiōn g165)
59 ਯਦਾ ਕਫਰ੍ਨਾਹੂਮ੍ ਪੁਰ੍ੱਯਾਂ ਭਜਨਗੇਹੇ ਉਪਾਦਿਸ਼ਤ੍ ਤਦਾ ਕਥਾ ਏਤਾ ਅਕਥਯਤ੍|
He spoke these words while in the synagogue, while he was teaching in Capernaum.
60 ਤਦੇੱਥੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਣਾਮ੍ ਅਨੇਕੇ ਪਰਸ੍ਪਰਮ੍ ਅਕਥਯਨ੍ ਇਦੰ ਗਾਢੰ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਵਾਕ੍ਯਮੀਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੰ ਕਃ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਰੁਯਾਤ੍?
So many of his disciples, when they heard it, said. "This teaching is unbelievable! Who can listen to him?"
61 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਣਾਮ੍ ਇੱਥੰ ਵਿਵਾਦੰ ਸ੍ਵਚਿੱਤੇ ਵਿਜ੍ਞਾਯ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਇਦੰ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਕਿੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਵਿਘ੍ਨੰ ਜਨਯਤਿ?
Jesus, conscious within himself that his disciples were finding fault with him about his teaching, said to them.
62 ਯਦਿ ਮਨੁਜਸੁਤੰ ਪੂਰ੍ੱਵਵਾਸਸ੍ਥਾਨਮ੍ ਊਰ੍ਦ੍ੱਵੰ ਗੱਛਨ੍ਤੰ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਥ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਕਿੰ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ?
"Does this displease you? What then if you were to behold the Son of man ascending to where he was before?
63 ਆਤ੍ਮੈਵ ਜੀਵਨਦਾਯਕਃ ਵਪੁ ਰ੍ਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਫਲੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਭ੍ਯਮਹੰ ਯਾਨਿ ਵਚਾਂਸਿ ਕਥਯਾਮਿ ਤਾਨ੍ਯਾਤ੍ਮਾ ਜੀਵਨਞ੍ਚ|
"The spirit is what gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words which I have been speaking to you, are spirit and are life.
64 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਕੇਚਨ ਅਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਾਸਿਨਃ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਕੇ ਕੇ ਨ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਨ੍ਤਿ ਕੋ ਵਾ ਤੰ ਪਰਕਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ ਤਾਨ੍ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਾਪ੍ਰਥਮਾਦ੍ ਵੇੱਤਿ|
"Yet there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was who should betray him.
65 ਅਪਰਮਪਿ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਅਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਕਾਰਣਾਦ੍ ਅਕਥਯੰ ਪਿਤੁਃ ਸਕਾਸ਼ਾਤ੍ ਸ਼ਕ੍ੱਤਿਮਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਕੋਪਿ ਮਮਾਨ੍ਤਿਕਮ੍ ਆਗਨ੍ਤੁੰ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੋਤਿ|
So he added, "This is why I told you that no on can come to me unless it be given from the Father."
66 ਤਤ੍ਕਾਲੇ(ਅ)ਨੇਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾ ਵ੍ਯਾਘੁਟ੍ਯ ਤੇਨ ਸਾਰ੍ੱਧੰ ਪੁਨ ਰ੍ਨਾਗੱਛਨ੍|
Therefore many of his disciples drew back and no longer companied with him.
67 ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁ ਰ੍ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਉਕ੍ੱਤਵਾਨ੍ ਯੂਯਮਪਿ ਕਿੰ ਯਾਸ੍ਯਥ?
So Jesus appealed to the Twelve. "You also do not wish to leave me, do you?"
Simon Peter answered. "To whom shall we go Master? You have words of eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
69 ਅਨਨ੍ਤਜੀਵਨਦਾਯਿਨ੍ਯੋ ਯਾਃ ਕਥਾਸ੍ਤਾਸ੍ਤਵੈਵ| ਭਵਾਨ੍ ਅਮਰੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯਾਭਿਸ਼਼ਿਕ੍ੱਤਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਇਤਿ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸ੍ਯ ਨਿਸ਼੍ਚਿਤੰ ਜਾਨੀਮਃ|
"and we have learned to believe and we know that you are the holy one of God."
70 ਤਦਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਰਵਦਤ੍ ਕਿਮਹੰ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਜਨਾਨ੍ ਮਨੋਨੀਤਾਨ੍ ਨ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨ੍? ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਮਧ੍ਯੇਪਿ ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਦੇਕੋ ਵਿਘ੍ਨਕਾਰੀ ਵਿਦ੍ਯਤੇ|
In reply Jesus said to them. "Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? And yet even of you one is an enemy."
71 ਇਮਾਂ ਕਥੰ ਸ ਸ਼ਿਮੋਨਃ ਪੁਤ੍ਰਮ੍ ਈਸ਼਼੍ਕਰੀਯੋਤੀਯੰ ਯਿਹੂਦਾਮ੍ ਉੱਦਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਯਤੋ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਮਧ੍ਯੇ ਗਣਿਤਃ ਸ ਤੰ ਪਰਕਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸਮਰ੍ਪਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
Now Jesus was speaking of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot; for Judas was to betray him, although he was one of the Twelve.
