ലൂകഃ 24
1 അഥ സപ്താഹപ്രഥമദിനേഽതിപ്രത്യൂഷേ താ യോഷിതഃ സമ്പാദിതം സുഗന്ധിദ്രവ്യം ഗൃഹീത്വാ തദന്യാഭിഃ കിയതീഭിഃ സ്ത്രീഭിഃ സഹ ശ്മശാനം യയുഃ|
And on the first day of the week, in the morning, while it was yet dark, they came to the sepulchre, and brought the aromatics they had prepared. And there were other women with them.
2 കിന്തു ശ്മശാനദ്വാരാത് പാഷാണമപസാരിതം ദൃഷ്ട്വാ
And they found the stone rolled from the sepulchre.
3 താഃ പ്രവിശ്യ പ്രഭോ ർദേഹമപ്രാപ്യ
And they entered, and found not the body of Jesus.
4 വ്യാകുലാ ഭവന്തി ഏതർഹി തേജോമയവസ്ത്രാന്വിതൗ ദ്വൗ പുരുഷൗ താസാം സമീപേ സമുപസ്ഥിതൗ
And as they wondered at this, behold, two men stood opposite them; and their raiment was effulgent.
5 തസ്മാത്താഃ ശങ്കായുക്താ ഭൂമാവധോമുഖ്യസ്യസ്ഥുഃ| തദാ തൗ താ ഊചതു ർമൃതാനാം മധ്യേ ജീവന്തം കുതോ മൃഗയഥ?
And they were in fear, and bowed their faces to the ground. And the men said to them: Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 സോത്ര നാസ്തി സ ഉദസ്ഥാത്|
He is not here; he is risen. Remember how he conversed with you, when he was in Galilee,
7 പാപിനാം കരേഷു സമർപിതേന ക്രുശേ ഹതേന ച മനുഷ്യപുത്രേണ തൃതീയദിവസേ ശ്മശാനാദുത്ഥാതവ്യമ് ഇതി കഥാം സ ഗലീലി തിഷ്ഠൻ യുഷ്മഭ്യം കഥിതവാൻ താം സ്മരത|
and said, That the Son of man was to be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and to rise on the third day.
8 തദാ തസ്യ സാ കഥാ താസാം മനഃസു ജാതാ|
And they remembered his words.
9 അനന്തരം ശ്മശാനാദ് ഗത്വാ താ ഏകാദശശിഷ്യാദിഭ്യഃ സർവ്വേഭ്യസ്താം വാർത്താം കഥയാമാസുഃ|
And they returned from the sepulchre, and related all these things to the eleven, and to the rest.
10 മഗ്ദലീനീമരിയമ്, യോഹനാ, യാകൂബോ മാതാ മരിയമ് തദന്യാഃ സങ്ഗിന്യോ യോഷിതശ്ച പ്രേരിതേഭ്യ ഏതാഃ സർവ്വാ വാർത്താഃ കഥയാമാസുഃ
Now they were Mary Magdalena, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, who related these things to the Legates.
11 കിന്തു താസാം കഥാമ് അനർഥകാഖ്യാനമാത്രം ബുദ്ധ്വാ കോപി ന പ്രത്യൈത്|
And these words appeared in their eyes as dreams: and they believed them not.
12 തദാ പിതര ഉത്ഥായ ശ്മശാനാന്തികം ദധാവ, തത്ര ച പ്രഹ്വോ ഭൂത്വാ പാർശ്വൈകസ്ഥാപിതം കേവലം വസ്ത്രം ദദർശ; തസ്മാദാശ്ചര്യ്യം മന്യമാനോ യദഘടത തന്മനസി വിചാരയൻ പ്രതസ്ഥേ|
But Simon arose, and ran to the sepulchre, and looked in, and saw the linen lying by itself: and he went away wondering in himself at what had occurred.
13 തസ്മിന്നേവ ദിനേ ദ്വൗ ശിയ്യൗ യിരൂശാലമശ്ചതുഷ്ക്രോശാന്തരിതമ് ഇമ്മായുഗ്രാമം ഗച്ഛന്തൗ
And lo, two of them, on the same day, were going to a village named Emmaus, distant sixty furlongs from Jerusalem.
14 താസാം ഘടനാനാം കഥാമകഥയതാം
And they talked together of all that had occurred.
15 തയോരാലാപവിചാരയോഃ കാലേ യീശുരാഗത്യ താഭ്യാം സഹ ജഗാമ
And as they conversed, and questioned each other, Jesus came, and drew near, and walked with them.
16 കിന്തു യഥാ തൗ തം ന പരിചിനുതസ്തദർഥം തയോ ർദൃഷ്ടിഃ സംരുദ്ധാ|
And their eyes were held, that they did not recognize him.
17 സ തൗ പൃഷ്ടവാൻ യുവാം വിഷണ്ണൗ കിം വിചാരയന്തൗ ഗച്ഛഥഃ?
And he said to them: What are these discourses, which ye hold with each other, as ye walk and are sad?
18 തതസ്തയോഃ ക്ലിയപാനാമാ പ്രത്യുവാച യിരൂശാലമപുരേഽധുനാ യാന്യഘടന്ത ത്വം കേവലവിദേശീ കിം തദ്വൃത്താന്തം ന ജാനാസി?
And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered and said to him: Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, that thou knowest not the things that have occurred there in these days?
19 സ പപ്രച്ഛ കാ ഘടനാഃ? തദാ തൗ വക്തുമാരേഭാതേ യീശുനാമാ യോ നാസരതീയോ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദീ ഈശ്വരസ്യ മാനുഷാണാഞ്ച സാക്ഷാത് വാക്യേ കർമ്മണി ച ശക്തിമാനാസീത്
He said to them: What things? They say to him: In regard to Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet, and mighty in discourse and in action, before God, and before all the people.
20 തമ് അസ്മാകം പ്രധാനയാജകാ വിചാരകാശ്ച കേനാപി പ്രകാരേണ ക്രുശേ വിദ്ധ്വാ തസ്യ പ്രാണാനനാശയൻ തദീയാ ഘടനാഃ;
And the chief priests and Elders delivered him up to a sentence of death, and crucified him.
21 കിന്തു യ ഇസ്രായേലീയലോകാൻ ഉദ്ധാരയിഷ്യതി സ ഏവായമ് ഇത്യാശാസ്മാഭിഃ കൃതാ| തദ്യഥാ തഥാസ്തു തസ്യാ ഘടനായാ അദ്യ ദിനത്രയം ഗതം|
But we expected that he was to deliver Israel. And lo, three days have passed, since all these things occurred.
22 അധികന്ത്വസ്മാകം സങ്ഗിനീനാം കിയത്സ്ത്രീണാം മുഖേഭ്യോഽസമ്ഭവവാക്യമിദം ശ്രുതം;
And moreover, certain women of ours astonished us; for they went early to the sepulchre;
23 താഃ പ്രത്യൂഷേ ശ്മശാനം ഗത്വാ തത്ര തസ്യ ദേഹമ് അപ്രാപ്യ വ്യാഘുട്യേത്വാ പ്രോക്തവത്യഃ സ്വർഗീസദൂതൗ ദൃഷ്ടാവസ്മാഭിസ്തൗ ചാവാദിഷ്ടാം സ ജീവിതവാൻ|
and as they did not find the body, they came and said to us: We saw angels there, and they said that he is alive.
24 തതോസ്മാകം കൈശ്ചിത് ശ്മശാനമഗമ്യത തേഽപി സ്ത്രീണാം വാക്യാനുരൂപം ദൃഷ്ടവന്തഃ കിന്തു തം നാപശ്യൻ|
And also some of us went to the sepulchre; and they found, as the women reported; but him they saw not.
25 തദാ സ താവുവാച, ഹേ അബോധൗ ഹേ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിഭിരുക്തവാക്യം പ്രത്യേതും വിലമ്ബമാനൗ;
Then Jesus said to them: O deficient in understanding, and slow of heart to believe all the things that the prophets uttered.
26 ഏതത്സർവ്വദുഃഖം ഭുക്ത്വാ സ്വഭൂതിപ്രാപ്തിഃ കിം ഖ്രീഷ്ടസ്യ ന ന്യായ്യാ?
Were not these things to be; that the Messiah should suffer and that he should enter into his glory?
27 തതഃ സ മൂസാഗ്രന്ഥമാരഭ്യ സർവ്വഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനാം സർവ്വശാസ്ത്രേ സ്വസ്മിൻ ലിഖിതാഖ്യാനാഭിപ്രായം ബോധയാമാസ|
Then he began from Moses, and from all the prophets, and expounded to them concerning himself from all the scriptures.
28 അഥ ഗമ്യഗ്രാമാഭ്യർണം പ്രാപ്യ തേനാഗ്രേ ഗമനലക്ഷണേ ദർശിതേ
And they drew near to the village to which they were going; and he made them feel, as if he would go to a more distant place.
29 തൗ സാധയിത്വാവദതാം സഹാവാഭ്യാം തിഷ്ഠ ദിനേ ഗതേ സതി രാത്രിരഭൂത്; തതഃ സ താഭ്യാം സാർദ്ധം സ്ഥാതും ഗൃഹം യയൗ|
And they urged him, and said to him: Tarry with us, for the day inclineth towards dark. And he went in to remain with them.
30 പശ്ചാദ്ഭോജനോപവേശകാലേ സ പൂപം ഗൃഹീത്വാ ഈശ്വരഗുണാൻ ജഗാദ തഞ്ച ഭംക്ത്വാ താഭ്യാം ദദൗ|
And it occurred, while he reclined with them, that he took bread, and blessed, and brake, and gave to them.
31 തദാ തയോ ർദൃഷ്ടൗ പ്രസന്നായാം തം പ്രത്യഭിജ്ഞതുഃ കിന്തു സ തയോഃ സാക്ഷാദന്തർദധേ|
And instantly, their eyes were opened, and, they knew him. And he took himself from them.
32 തതസ്തൗ മിഥോഭിധാതുമ് ആരബ്ധവന്തൗ ഗമനകാലേ യദാ കഥാമകഥയത് ശാസ്ത്രാർഥഞ്ചബോധയത് തദാവയോ ർബുദ്ധിഃ കിം ന പ്രാജ്വലത്?
And they said one to another: Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and explained to us the scriptures?
33 തൗ തത്ക്ഷണാദുത്ഥായ യിരൂശാലമപുരം പ്രത്യായയതുഃ, തത്സ്ഥാനേ ശിഷ്യാണാമ് ഏകാദശാനാം സങ്ഗിനാഞ്ച ദർശനം ജാതം|
And they arose, the same hour, and returned: to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven assembled, and those with them,
34 തേ പ്രോചുഃ പ്രഭുരുദതിഷ്ഠദ് ഇതി സത്യം ശിമോനേ ദർശനമദാച്ച|
who were saying: Certainly, our Lord hath risen; and he hath appeared to Simon.
35 തതഃ പഥഃ സർവ്വഘടനായാഃ പൂപഭഞ്ജനേന തത്പരിചയസ്യ ച സർവ്വവൃത്താന്തം തൗ വക്തുമാരേഭാതേ|
And they also related what occurred by the way, and how he became known to them, when he broke bread.
36 ഇത്ഥം തേ പരസ്പരം വദന്തി തത്കാലേ യീശുഃ സ്വയം തേഷാം മധ്യ പ്രോത്ഥയ യുഷ്മാകം കല്യാണം ഭൂയാദ് ഇത്യുവാച,
And while they were talking of these things, Jesus stood in the midst of them, and said to them: Peace be with you! It is I; be not afraid.
37 കിന്തു ഭൂതം പശ്യാമ ഇത്യനുമായ തേ സമുദ്വിവിജിരേ ത്രേഷുശ്ച|
And they were in trepidation and fear, for they supposed they saw a spirit.
38 സ ഉവാച, കുതോ ദുഃഖിതാ ഭവഥ? യുഷ്മാകം മനഃസു സന്ദേഹ ഉദേതി ച കുതഃ?
Jesus said to them: Why are ye agitated? And why do imaginations arise in your hearts?
39 ഏഷോഹം, മമ കരൗ പശ്യത വരം സ്പൃഷ്ട്വാ പശ്യത, മമ യാദൃശാനി പശ്യഥ താദൃശാനി ഭൂതസ്യ മാംസാസ്ഥീനി ന സന്തി|
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is myself. Handle me, and know; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 ഇത്യുക്ത്വാ സ ഹസ്തപാദാൻ ദർശയാമാസ|
And as he said thus, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 തേഽസമ്ഭവം ജ്ഞാത്വാ സാനന്ദാ ന പ്രത്യയൻ| തതഃ സ താൻ പപ്രച്ഛ, അത്ര യുഷ്മാകം സമീപേ ഖാദ്യം കിഞ്ചിദസ്തി?
And while they still believed not, for their joy, and were astonished; he said to them: Have ye here any thing to eat?
42 തതസ്തേ കിയദ്ദഗ്ധമത്സ്യം മധു ച ദദുഃ
And they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and of honeycomb.
43 സ തദാദായ തേഷാം സാക്ഷാദ് ബുഭുജേ
And he took, and ate before them.
44 കഥയാമാസ ച മൂസാവ്യവസ്ഥായാം ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനാം ഗ്രന്ഥേഷു ഗീതപുസ്തകേ ച മയി യാനി സർവ്വാണി വചനാനി ലിഖിതാനി തദനുരൂപാണി ഘടിഷ്യന്തേ യുഷ്മാഭിഃ സാർദ്ധം സ്ഥിത്വാഹം യദേതദ്വാക്യമ് അവദം തദിദാനീം പ്രത്യക്ഷമഭൂത്|
And he said to them: These are the things which I said to you while I was with you, That all things written of me, in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms, must be fulfilled.
45 അഥ തേഭ്യഃ ശാസ്ത്രബോധാധികാരം ദത്വാവദത്,
Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures.
46 ഖ്രീഷ്ടേനേത്ഥം മൃതിയാതനാ ഭോക്തവ്യാ തൃതീയദിനേ ച ശ്മശാനാദുത്ഥാതവ്യഞ്ചേതി ലിപിരസ്തി;
And he said to them: Thus it is written, and thus it was right for Messiah to suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day;
47 തന്നാമ്നാ യിരൂശാലമമാരഭ്യ സർവ്വദേശേ മനഃപരാവർത്തനസ്യ പാപമോചനസ്യ ച സുസംവാദഃ പ്രചാരയിതവ്യഃ,
and that, in his name, repentance for the remission of sins should be preached among all nations, and that the commencement be at Jerusalem.
48 ഏഷു സർവ്വേഷു യൂയം സാക്ഷിണഃ|
And ye are the witnesses of these things.
49 അപരഞ്ച പശ്യത പിത്രാ യത് പ്രതിജ്ഞാതം തത് പ്രേഷയിഷ്യാമി, അതഏവ യാവത്കാലം യൂയം സ്വർഗീയാം ശക്തിം ന പ്രാപ്സ്യഥ താവത്കാലം യിരൂശാലമ്നഗരേ തിഷ്ഠത|
And I will send upon you the promise of my Father. But remain ye at Jerusalem until ye shall be clothed with energy from on high.
50 അഥ സ താൻ ബൈഥനീയാപര്യ്യന്തം നീത്വാ ഹസ്താവുത്തോല്യ ആശിഷ വക്തുമാരേഭേ
And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifted his hands, and blessed them.
51 ആശിഷം വദന്നേവ ച തേഭ്യഃ പൃഥഗ് ഭൂത്വാ സ്വർഗായ നീതോഽഭവത്|
And it occurred, while he blessed them, that he was separated from them, and ascended to heaven.
52 തദാ തേ തം ഭജമാനാ മഹാനന്ദേന യിരൂശാലമം പ്രത്യാജഗ്മുഃ|
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
53 തതോ നിരന്തരം മന്ദിരേ തിഷ്ഠന്ത ഈശ്വരസ്യ പ്രശംസാം ധന്യവാദഞ്ച കർത്തമ് ആരേഭിരേ| ഇതി||
And they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. Completion of the holy Gospel of Luke the Evangelist.
