ലൂകഃ 20
1 അഥൈകദാ യീശു ർമനിദരേ സുസംവാദം പ്രചാരയൻ ലോകാനുപദിശതി, ഏതർഹി പ്രധാനയാജകാ അധ്യാപകാഃ പ്രാഞ്ചശ്ച തന്നികടമാഗത്യ പപ്രച്ഛുഃ
And it came to pass, on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple, and publishing the good tidings, that the priests and the scribes with the elders came upon him,
2 കയാജ്ഞയാ ത്വം കർമ്മാണ്യേതാനി കരോഷി? കോ വാ ത്വാമാജ്ഞാപയത്? തദസ്മാൻ വദ|
and spoke to him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? Or who is he that gave thee this authority?
3 സ പ്രത്യുവാച, തർഹി യുഷ്മാനപി കഥാമേകാം പൃച്ഛാമി തസ്യോത്തരം വദത|
And he answering said to them, I also will ask you a question; and tell me:
4 യോഹനോ മജ്ജനമ് ഈശ്വരസ്യ മാനുഷാണാം വാജ്ഞാതോ ജാതം?
The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?
5 തതസ്തേ മിഥോ വിവിച്യ ജഗദുഃ, യദീശ്വരസ്യ വദാമസ്തർഹി തം കുതോ ന പ്രത്യൈത സ ഇതി വക്ഷ്യതി|
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we say, From heaven, he will say, Why did ye not believe him?
6 യദി മനുഷ്യസ്യേതി വദാമസ്തർഹി സർവ്വേ ലോകാ അസ്മാൻ പാഷാണൈ ർഹനിഷ്യന്തി യതോ യോഹൻ ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദീതി സർവ്വേ ദൃഢം ജാനന്തി|
But if we say, From men, all the people will stone us; for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.
7 അതഏവ തേ പ്രത്യൂചുഃ കസ്യാജ്ഞയാ ജാതമ് ഇതി വക്തും ന ശക്നുമഃ|
And they answered, that they did not know whence it was.
8 തദാ യീശുരവദത് തർഹി കയാജ്ഞയാ കർമ്മാണ്യേതാതി കരോമീതി ച യുഷ്മാൻ ന വക്ഷ്യാമി|
And Jesus said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
9 അഥ ലോകാനാം സാക്ഷാത് സ ഇമാം ദൃഷ്ടാന്തകഥാം വക്തുമാരേഭേ, കശ്ചിദ് ദ്രാക്ഷാക്ഷേത്രം കൃത്വാ തത് ക്ഷേത്രം കൃഷീവലാനാം ഹസ്തേഷു സമർപ്യ ബഹുകാലാർഥം ദൂരദേശം ജഗാമ|
And he began to speak to the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad for a long time.
10 അഥ ഫലകാലേ ഫലാനി ഗ്രഹീതു കൃഷീവലാനാം സമീപേ ദാസം പ്രാഹിണോത് കിന്തു കൃഷീവലാസ്തം പ്രഹൃത്യ രിക്തഹസ്തം വിസസർജുഃ|
And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard; but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
11 തതഃ സോധിപതിഃ പുനരന്യം ദാസം പ്രേഷയാമാസ, തേ തമപി പ്രഹൃത്യ കുവ്യവഹൃത്യ രിക്തഹസ്തം വിസസൃജുഃ|
And he sent still another servant; and they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed.
12 തതഃ സ തൃതീയവാരമ് അന്യം പ്രാഹിണോത് തേ തമപി ക്ഷതാങ്ഗം കൃത്വാ ബഹി ർനിചിക്ഷിപുഃ|
And he went on to send a third; and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
13 തദാ ക്ഷേത്രപതി ർവിചാരയാമാസ, മമേദാനീം കിം കർത്തവ്യം? മമ പ്രിയേ പുത്രേ പ്രഹിതേ തേ തമവശ്യം ദൃഷ്ട്വാ സമാദരിഷ്യന്തേ|
And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.
14 കിന്തു കൃഷീവലാസ്തം നിരീക്ഷ്യ പരസ്പരം വിവിച്യ പ്രോചുഃ, അയമുത്തരാധികാരീ ആഗച്ഛതൈനം ഹന്മസ്തതോധികാരോസ്മാകം ഭവിഷ്യതി|
But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may become ours.
15 തതസ്തേ തം ക്ഷേത്രാദ് ബഹി ർനിപാത്യ ജഘ്നുസ്തസ്മാത് സ ക്ഷേത്രപതിസ്താൻ പ്രതി കിം കരിഷ്യതി?
So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What then will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
16 സ ആഗത്യ താൻ കൃഷീവലാൻ ഹത്വാ പരേഷാം ഹസ്തേഷു തത്ക്ഷേത്രം സമർപയിഷ്യതി; ഇതി കഥാം ശ്രുത്വാ തേ ഽവദൻ ഏതാദൃശീ ഘടനാ ന ഭവതു|
He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. And when they heard this, they said, God forbid!
17 കിന്തു യീശുസ്താനവലോക്യ ജഗാദ, തർഹി, സ്ഥപതയഃ കരിഷ്യന്തി ഗ്രാവാണം യന്തു തുച്ഛകം| പ്രധാനപ്രസ്തരഃ കോണേ സ ഏവ ഹി ഭവിഷ്യതി| ഏതസ്യ ശാസ്ത്രീയവചനസ്യ കിം താത്പര്യ്യം?
But he, looking upon them, said, What then is this which is written, “The stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the corner-stone”?
18 അപരം തത്പാഷാണോപരി യഃ പതിഷ്യതി സ ഭംക്ഷ്യതേ കിന്തു യസ്യോപരി സ പാഷാണഃ പതിഷ്യതി സ തേന ധൂലിവച് ചൂർണീഭവിഷ്യതി|
Every one who falleth upon that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falleth, it will grind him to powder.
19 സോസ്മാകം വിരുദ്ധം ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമിമം കഥിതവാൻ ഇതി ജ്ഞാത്വാ പ്രധാനയാജകാ അധ്യാപകാശ്ച തദൈവ തം ധർതും വവാഞ്ഛുഃ കിന്തു ലോകേഭ്യോ ബിഭ്യുഃ|
And the scribes and the chief priests sought to lay hands on him in that hour, but they feared the people; for they knew that he spoke this parable against them.
20 അതഏവ തം പ്രതി സതർകാഃ സന്തഃ കഥം തദ്വാക്യദോഷം ധൃത്വാ തം ദേശാധിപസ്യ സാധുവേശധാരിണശ്ചരാൻ തസ്യ സമീപേ പ്രേഷയാമാസുഃ|
And they kept watch on him, and sent forth spies feigning themselves to be righteous men, that they might take hold of his words, in order to deliver him up to the civil power and to the authority of the governor.
21 തദാ തേ തം പപ്രച്ഛുഃ, ഹേ ഉപദേശക ഭവാൻ യഥാർഥം കഥയൻ ഉപദിശതി, കമപ്യനപേക്ഷ്യ സത്യത്വേനൈശ്വരം മാർഗമുപദിശതി, വയമേതജ്ജാനീമഃ|
And they asked him, saying, Teacher, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, and hast no regard to the person of men, but teachest the way of God truly.
22 കൈസരരാജായ കരോസ്മാഭി ർദേയോ ന വാ?
Is it lawful for us to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
23 സ തേഷാം വഞ്ചനം ജ്ഞാത്വാവദത് കുതോ മാം പരീക്ഷധ്വേ? മാം മുദ്രാമേകം ദർശയത|
But perceiving their craftiness, he said to them,
24 ഇഹ ലിഖിതാ മൂർതിരിയം നാമ ച കസ്യ? തേഽവദൻ കൈസരസ്യ|
Show me a denary. Whose image and inscription hath it? And they answered and said, Caesar's.
25 തദാ സ ഉവാച, തർഹി കൈസരസ്യ ദ്രവ്യം കൈസരായ ദത്ത; ഈശ്വരസ്യ തു ദ്രവ്യമീശ്വരായ ദത്ത|
And he said to them, Render then to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.
26 തസ്മാല്ലോകാനാം സാക്ഷാത് തത്കഥായാഃ കമപി ദോഷം ധർതുമപ്രാപ്യ തേ തസ്യോത്തരാദ് ആശ്ചര്യ്യം മന്യമാനാ മൗനിനസ്തസ്ഥുഃ|
And they could not take hold of his words before the people; and marveling at his answer, they held their peace.
27 അപരഞ്ച ശ്മശാനാദുത്ഥാനാനങ്ഗീകാരിണാം സിദൂകിനാം കിയന്തോ ജനാ ആഗത്യ തം പപ്രച്ഛുഃ,
Then some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is a resurrection, came to him, and asked him,
28 ഹേ ഉപദേശക ശാസ്ത്രേ മൂസാ അസ്മാൻ പ്രതീതി ലിലേഖ യസ്യ ഭ്രാതാ ഭാര്യ്യായാം സത്യാം നിഃസന്താനോ മ്രിയതേ സ തജ്ജായാം വിവഹ്യ തദ്വംശമ് ഉത്പാദയിഷ്യതി|
saying, Teacher, Moses wrote to us, “If a man's brother die, having a wife, and the same die without children, his brother shall take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.”
29 തഥാച കേചിത് സപ്ത ഭ്രാതര ആസൻ തേഷാം ജ്യേഷ്ഠോ ഭ്രാതാ വിവഹ്യ നിരപത്യഃ പ്രാണാൻ ജഹൗ|
Now there were seven brothers; and the first took a wife and died childless.
30 അഥ ദ്വിതീയസ്തസ്യ ജായാം വിവഹ്യ നിരപത്യഃ സൻ മമാര| തൃതീയശ്ച താമേവ വ്യുവാഹ;
And the second
31 ഇത്ഥം സപ്ത ഭ്രാതരസ്താമേവ വിവഹ്യ നിരപത്യാഃ സന്തോ മമ്രുഃ|
and the third took her; and in like manner also the seven left no children, and died.
32 ശേഷേ സാ സ്ത്രീ ച മമാര|
At last the woman also died.
33 അതഏവ ശ്മശാനാദുത്ഥാനകാലേ തേഷാം സപ്തജനാനാം കസ്യ സാ ഭാര്യ്യാ ഭവിഷ്യതി? യതഃ സാ തേഷാം സപ്താനാമേവ ഭാര്യ്യാസീത്|
In the resurrection then, of which of them is the woman the wife? for the seven had her for a wife.
And Jesus said to them, The sons of this world marry, and are given in marriage; (aiōn g165)
35 കിന്തു യേ തജ്ജഗത്പ്രാപ്തിയോഗ്യത്വേന ഗണിതാം ഭവിഷ്യന്തി ശ്മശാനാച്ചോത്ഥാസ്യന്തി തേ ന വിവഹന്തി വാഗ്ദത്താശ്ച ന ഭവന്തി, (aiōn g165)
but they who have been accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; (aiōn g165)
36 തേ പുന ർന മ്രിയന്തേ കിന്തു ശ്മശാനാദുത്ഥാപിതാഃ സന്ത ഈശ്വരസ്യ സന്താനാഃ സ്വർഗീയദൂതാനാം സദൃശാശ്ച ഭവന്തി|
for they cannot die any more; for they are like the angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
37 അധികന്തു മൂസാഃ സ്തമ്ബോപാഖ്യാനേ പരമേശ്വര ഈബ്രാഹീമ ഈശ്വര ഇസ്ഹാക ഈശ്വരോ യാകൂബശ്ചേശ്വര ഇത്യുക്ത്വാ മൃതാനാം ശ്മശാനാദ് ഉത്ഥാനസ്യ പ്രമാണം ലിലേഖ|
But that the dead are raised, even Moses hath shown at the Bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
38 അതഏവ യ ഈശ്വരഃ സ മൃതാനാം പ്രഭു ർന കിന്തു ജീവതാമേവ പ്രഭുഃ, തന്നികടേ സർവ്വേ ജീവന്തഃ സന്തി|
Now he is not a God of the dead, but of the living; for all live to him.
39 ഇതി ശ്രുത്വാ കിയന്തോധ്യാപകാ ഊചുഃ, ഹേ ഉപദേശക ഭവാൻ ഭദ്രം പ്രത്യുക്തവാൻ|
Then some of the scribes answering, said, Teacher, thou hast well said.
40 ഇതഃ പരം തം കിമപി പ്രഷ്ടം തേഷാം പ്രഗൽഭതാ നാഭൂത്|
For they dared no longer to ask him any question.
41 പശ്ചാത് സ താൻ ഉവാച, യഃ ഖ്രീഷ്ടഃ സ ദായൂദഃ സന്താന ഏതാം കഥാം ലോകാഃ കഥം കഥയന്തി?
And he said to them, How is it that men say that the Christ is David's son?
42 യതഃ മമ പ്രഭുമിദം വാക്യമവദത് പരമേശ്വരഃ| തവ ശത്രൂനഹം യാവത് പാദപീഠം കരോമി ന| താവത് കാലം മദീയേ ത്വം ദക്ഷപാർശ്വ ഉപാവിശ|
For David himself saith in the book of Psalms, “The Lord said to my lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43 ഇതി കഥാം ദായൂദ് സ്വയം ഗീതഗ്രന്ഥേഽവദത്|
till I make thine enemies thy footstool.”
44 അതഏവ യദി ദായൂദ് തം പ്രഭും വദതി, തർഹി സ കഥം തസ്യ സന്താനോ ഭവതി?
David then calleth him lord; and how is he his son?
45 പശ്ചാദ് യീശുഃ സർവ്വജനാനാം കർണഗോചരേ ശിഷ്യാനുവാച,
And in the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples,
46 യേഽധ്യാപകാ ദീർഘപരിച്ഛദം പരിധായ ഭ്രമന്തി, ഹട്ടാപണയോ ർനമസ്കാരേ ഭജനഗേഹസ്യ പ്രോച്ചാസനേ ഭോജനഗൃഹസ്യ പ്രധാനസ്ഥാനേ ച പ്രീയന്തേ
Beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes, and love salutations in the markets, and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the first places at feasts;
47 വിധവാനാം സർവ്വസ്വം ഗ്രസിത്വാ ഛലേന ദീർഘകാലം പ്രാർഥയന്തേ ച തേഷു സാവധാനാ ഭവത, തേഷാമുഗ്രദണ്ഡോ ഭവിഷ്യതി|
who devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers. These will receive a far greater condemnation.
