ഇബ്രിണഃ 4

1 അപരം തദ്വിശ്രാമപ്രാപ്തേഃ പ്രതിജ്ഞാ യദി തിഷ്ഠതി തർഹ്യസ്മാകം കശ്ചിത് ചേത് തസ്യാഃ ഫലേന വഞ്ചിതോ ഭവേത് വയമ് ഏതസ്മാദ് ബിഭീമഃ|

Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left [us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

2 യതോ ഽസ്മാകം സമീപേ യദ്വത് തദ്വത് തേഷാം സമീപേഽപി സുസംവാദഃ പ്രചാരിതോ ഽഭവത് കിന്തു തൈഃ ശ്രുതം വാക്യം താൻ പ്രതി നിഷ്ഫലമ് അഭവത്, യതസ്തേ ശ്രോതാരോ വിശ്വാസേന സാർദ്ധം തന്നാമിശ്രയൻ|

For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it].

3 തദ് വിശ്രാമസ്ഥാനം വിശ്വാസിഭിരസ്മാഭിഃ പ്രവിശ്യതേ യതസ്തേനോക്തം, "അഹം കോപാത് ശപഥം കൃതവാൻ ഇമം, പ്രവേക്ഷ്യതേ ജനൈരേതൈ ർന വിശ്രാമസ്ഥലം മമ| " കിന്തു തസ്യ കർമ്മാണി ജഗതഃ സൃഷ്ടികാലാത് സമാപ്താനി സന്തി|

For we who have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4 യതഃ കസ്മിംശ്ചിത് സ്ഥാനേ സപ്തമം ദിനമധി തേനേദമ് ഉക്തം, യഥാ, "ഈശ്വരഃ സപ്തമേ ദിനേ സ്വകൃതേഭ്യഃ സർവ്വകർമ്മഭ്യോ വിശശ്രാമ| "

For he spoke in a certain place of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God rested the seventh day from all his works.

5 കിന്ത്വേതസ്മിൻ സ്ഥാനേ പുനസ്തേനോച്യതേ, യഥാ, "പ്രവേക്ഷ്യതേ ജനൈരേതൈ ർന വിശ്രാമസ്ഥലം മമ| "

And in this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest.

6 ഫലതസ്തത് സ്ഥാനം കൈശ്ചിത് പ്രവേഷ്ടവ്യം കിന്തു യേ പുരാ സുസംവാദം ശ്രുതവന്തസ്തൈരവിശ്വാസാത് തന്ന പ്രവിഷ്ടമ്,

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter into it, and they to whom it was first preached entered not because of unbelief:

7 ഇതി ഹേതോഃ സ പുനരദ്യനാമകം ദിനം നിരൂപ്യ ദീർഘകാലേ ഗതേഽപി പൂർവ്വോക്താം വാചം ദായൂദാ കഥയതി, യഥാ, "അദ്യ യൂയം കഥാം തസ്യ യദി സംശ്രോതുമിച്ഛഥ, തർഹി മാ കുരുതേദാനീം കഠിനാനി മനാംസി വഃ| "

(Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To-day, after so long a time; as it is said, To-day, if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

8 അപരം യിഹോശൂയോ യദി താൻ വ്യശ്രാമയിഷ്യത് തർഹി തതഃ പരമ് അപരസ്യ ദിനസ്യ വാഗ് ഈശ്വരേണ നാകഥയിഷ്യത|

For if Jesus had given them rest, then he would not afterward have spoken of another day.

9 അത ഈശ്വരസ്യ പ്രജാഭിഃ കർത്തവ്യ ഏകോ വിശ്രാമസ്തിഷ്ഠതി|

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

10 അപരമ് ഈശ്വരോ യദ്വത് സ്വകൃതകർമ്മഭ്യോ വിശശ്രാമ തദ്വത് തസ്യ വിശ്രാമസ്ഥാനം പ്രവിഷ്ടോ ജനോഽപി സ്വകൃതകർമ്മഭ്യോ വിശ്രാമ്യതി|

For he that hath entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his.)

11 അതോ വയം തദ് വിശ്രാമസ്ഥാനം പ്രവേഷ്ടും യതാമഹൈ, തദവിശ്വാസോദാഹരണേന കോഽപി ന പതതു|

Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

12 ഈശ്വരസ്യ വാദോഽമരഃ പ്രഭാവവിശിഷ്ടശ്ച സർവ്വസ്മാദ് ദ്വിധാരഖങ്ഗാദപി തീക്ഷ്ണഃ, അപരം പ്രാണാത്മനോ ർഗ്രന്ഥിമജ്ജയോശ്ച പരിഭേദായ വിച്ഛേദകാരീ മനസശ്ച സങ്കൽപാനാമ് അഭിപ്രേതാനാഞ്ച വിചാരകഃ|

For the word of God [is] living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 അപരം യസ്യ സമീപേ സ്വീയാ സ്വീയാ കഥാസ്മാഭിഃ കഥയിതവ്യാ തസ്യാഗോചരഃ കോഽപി പ്രാണീ നാസ്തി തസ്യ ദൃഷ്ടൗ സർവ്വമേവാനാവൃതം പ്രകാശിതഞ്ചാസ്തേ|

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14 അപരം യ ഉച്ചതമം സ്വർഗം പ്രവിഷ്ട ഏതാദൃശ ഏകോ വ്യക്തിരർഥത ഈശ്വരസ്യ പുത്രോ യീശുരസ്മാകം മഹായാജകോഽസ്തി, അതോ ഹേതോ ർവയം ധർമ്മപ്രതിജ്ഞാം ദൃഢമ് ആലമ്ബാമഹൈ|

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that hath passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession.

15 അസ്മാകം യോ മഹായാജകോ ഽസ്തി സോഽസ്മാകം ദുഃഖൈ ർദുഃഖിതോ ഭവിതുമ് അശക്തോ നഹി കിന്തു പാപം വിനാ സർവ്വവിഷയേ വയമിവ പരീക്ഷിതഃ|

For we have not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but who was in all points tempted as [we are], [yet] without sin.

16 അതഏവ കൃപാം ഗ്രഹീതും പ്രയോജനീയോപകാരാർഥമ് അനുഗ്രഹം പ്രാപ്തുഞ്ച വയമ് ഉത്സാഹേനാനുഗ്രഹസിംഹാസനസ്യ സമീപം യാമഃ|

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
