പ്രേരിതാഃ 7
1 തതഃ പരം മഹായാജകഃ പൃഷ്ടവാൻ, ഏഷാ കഥാം കിം സത്യാ?
And the chief priest said: Are these things so?
2 തതഃ സ പ്രത്യവദത്, ഹേ പിതരോ ഹേ ഭ്രാതരഃ സർവ്വേ ലാകാ മനാംസി നിധദ്ധ്വം| അസ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷ ഇബ്രാഹീമ് ഹാരൺനഗരേ വാസകരണാത് പൂർവ്വം യദാ അരാമ്-നഹരയിമദേശേ ആസീത് തദാ തേജോമയ ഈശ്വരോ ദർശനം ദത്വാ
He replied: Brethren and fathers, hear: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, while he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,
3 തമവദത് ത്വം സ്വദേശജ്ഞാതിമിത്രാണി പരിത്യജ്യ യം ദേശമഹം ദർശയിഷ്യാമി തം ദേശം വ്രജ|
and said to him: Get out from your land, and from your kindred, and come into a land that I will show you.
4 അതഃ സ കസ്ദീയദേശം വിഹായ ഹാരൺനഗരേ ന്യവസത്, തദനന്തരം തസ്യ പിതരി മൃതേ യത്ര ദേശേ യൂയം നിവസഥ സ ഏനം ദേശമാഗച്ഛത്|
Then he departed from the land of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Charran; and thence, after his father died, he removed into this land, in which you now dwell.
5 കിന്ത്വീശ്വരസ്തസ്മൈ കമപ്യധികാരമ് അർഥാദ് ഏകപദപരിമിതാം ഭൂമിമപി നാദദാത്; തദാ തസ്യ കോപി സന്താനോ നാസീത് തഥാപി സന്താനൈഃ സാർദ്ധമ് ഏതസ്യ ദേശസ്യാധികാരീ ത്വം ഭവിഷ്യസീതി തമ്പ്രത്യങ്ഗീകൃതവാൻ|
And he gave him no inheritance in it, not a foot breadth: and yet he promised to give it for a possession to him, and to his posterity after him, when as yet he had no child.
6 ഈശ്വര ഇത്ഥമ് അപരമപി കഥിതവാൻ തവ സന്താനാഃ പരദേശേ നിവത്സ്യന്തി തതസ്തദ്ദേശീയലോകാശ്ചതുഃശതവത്സരാൻ യാവത് താൻ ദാസത്വേ സ്ഥാപയിത്വാ താൻ പ്രതി കുവ്യവഹാരം കരിഷ്യന്തി|
And God spoke thus: That his posterity should sojourn in a strange land, and they should enslave them and afflict them, for four hundred years.
7 അപരമ് ഈശ്വര ഏനാം കഥാമപി കഥിതവാൻ, യേ ലോകാസ്താൻ ദാസത്വേ സ്ഥാപയിഷ്യന്തി താല്ലോകാൻ അഹം ദണ്ഡയിഷ്യാമി, തതഃ പരം തേ ബഹിർഗതാഃ സന്തോ മാമ് അത്ര സ്ഥാനേ സേവിഷ്യന്തേ|
And the nation to which they shall be in bondage I will judge, said God; and after that, they shall come forth and serve me in this place.
8 പശ്ചാത് സ തസ്മൈ ത്വക്ഛേദസ്യ നിയമം ദത്തവാൻ, അത ഇസ്ഹാകനാമ്നി ഇബ്രാഹീമ ഏകപുത്രേ ജാതേ, അഷ്ടമദിനേ തസ്യ ത്വക്ഛേദമ് അകരോത്| തസ്യ ഇസ്ഹാകഃ പുത്രോ യാകൂബ്, തതസ്തസ്യ യാകൂബോഽസ്മാകം ദ്വാദശ പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാ അജായന്ത|
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision, and thus he begot Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs.
9 തേ പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാ ഈർഷ്യയാ പരിപൂർണാ മിസരദേശം പ്രേഷയിതും യൂഷഫം വ്യക്രീണൻ|
And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
10 കിന്ത്വീശ്വരസ്തസ്യ സഹായോ ഭൂത്വാ സർവ്വസ്യാ ദുർഗതേ രക്ഷിത്വാ തസ്മൈ ബുദ്ധിം ദത്ത്വാ മിസരദേശസ്യ രാജ്ഞഃ ഫിരൗണഃ പ്രിയപാത്രം കൃതവാൻ തതോ രാജാ മിസരദേശസ്യ സ്വീയസർവ്വപരിവാരസ്യ ച ശാസനപദം തസ്മൈ ദത്തവാൻ|
and delivered him from all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharoah, king of Egypt: and he made him governor over Egypt, and his whole house.
11 തസ്മിൻ സമയേ മിസര-കിനാനദേശയോ ർദുർഭിക്ഷഹേതോരതിക്ലിഷ്ടത്വാത് നഃ പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാ ഭക്ഷ്യദ്രവ്യം നാലഭന്ത|
And there came a famine, and great affliction on the whole land of Egypt, and of Chanaan: and our fathers found no sustenance.
12 കിന്തു മിസരദേശേ ശസ്യാനി സന്തി, യാകൂബ് ഇമാം വാർത്താം ശ്രുത്വാ പ്രഥമമ് അസ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാൻ മിസരം പ്രേഷിതവാൻ|
But when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent forth our fathers the first time:
13 തതോ ദ്വിതീയവാരഗമനേ യൂഷഫ് സ്വഭ്രാതൃഭിഃ പരിചിതോഽഭവത്; യൂഷഫോ ഭ്രാതരഃ ഫിരൗൺ രാജേന പരിചിതാ അഭവൻ|
and, on their second visit, Joseph made himself known to his brothers, and the kindred of Joseph were made known to Pharaoh.
14 അനന്തരം യൂഷഫ് ഭ്രാതൃഗണം പ്രേഷ്യ നിജപിതരം യാകൂബം നിജാൻ പഞ്ചാധികസപ്തതിസംഖ്യകാൻ ജ്ഞാതിജനാംശ്ച സമാഹൂതവാൻ|
And Joseph sent and called to him his father Jacob, and all his kindred, seventy-five souls.
15 തസ്മാദ് യാകൂബ് മിസരദേശം ഗത്വാ സ്വയമ് അസ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാശ്ച തസ്മിൻ സ്ഥാനേഽമ്രിയന്ത|
And Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, himself and our fathers;
16 തതസ്തേ ശിഖിമം നീതാ യത് ശ്മശാനമ് ഇബ്രാഹീമ് മുദ്രാദത്വാ ശിഖിമഃ പിതു ർഹമോരഃ പുത്രേഭ്യഃ ക്രീതവാൻ തത്ശ്മശാനേ സ്ഥാപയാഞ്ചക്രിരേ|
and they were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulcher which Abraham bought for its value in silver, from the sons of Emmor, the father of Sychem.
17 തതഃ പരമ് ഈശ്വര ഇബ്രാഹീമഃ സന്നിധൗ ശപഥം കൃത്വാ യാം പ്രതിജ്ഞാം കൃതവാൻ തസ്യാഃ പ്രതിജ്ഞായാഃ ഫലനസമയേ നികടേ സതി ഇസ്രായേല്ലോകാ സിമരദേശേ വർദ്ധമാനാ ബഹുസംഖ്യാ അഭവൻ|
And as the time of the promise which God had made with an oath to Abraham drew near, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,
18 ശേഷേ യൂഷഫം യോ ന പരിചിനോതി താദൃശ ഏകോ നരപതിരുപസ്ഥായ
till another king arose, who knew not Joseph.
19 അസ്മാകം ജ്ഞാതിഭിഃ സാർദ്ധം ധൂർത്തതാം വിധായ പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാൻ പ്രതി കുവ്യവഹരണപൂർവ്വകം തേഷാം വംശനാശനായ തേഷാം നവജാതാൻ ശിശൂൻ ബഹി ർനിരക്ഷേപയത്|
He dealt insidiously with our race, and afflicted our fathers, so that they exposed their infants, in order that they might not live.
20 ഏതസ്മിൻ സമയേ മൂസാ ജജ്ഞേ, സ തു പരമസുന്ദരോഽഭവത് തഥാ പിതൃഗൃഹേ മാസത്രയപര്യ്യന്തം പാലിതോഽഭവത്|
At which time Moses was born; and he was exceedingly beautiful, and was nursed three months in his father’s house.
21 കിന്തു തസ്മിൻ ബഹിർനിക്ഷിപ്തേ സതി ഫിരൗണരാജസ്യ കന്യാ തമ് ഉത്തോല്യ നീത്വാ ദത്തകപുത്രം കൃത്വാ പാലിതവതീ|
But having been exposed, the daughter of Pharaoh took him up, and educated him as her own son.
22 തസ്മാത് സ മൂസാ മിസരദേശീയായാഃ സർവ്വവിദ്യായാഃ പാരദൃഷ്വാ സൻ വാക്യേ ക്രിയായാഞ്ച ശക്തിമാൻ അഭവത്|
And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
23 സ സമ്പൂർണചത്വാരിംശദ്വത്സരവയസ്കോ ഭൂത്വാ ഇസ്രായേലീയവംശനിജഭ്രാതൃൻ സാക്ഷാത് കർതും മതിം ചക്രേ|
When he had completed his fortieth year, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the sons of Israel.
24 തേഷാം ജനമേകം ഹിംസിതം ദൃഷ്ട്വാ തസ്യ സപക്ഷഃ സൻ ഹിംസിതജനമ് ഉപകൃത്യ മിസരീയജനം ജഘാന|
And seeing one of them unjustly treated, he defended and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian.
25 തസ്യ ഹസ്തേനേശ്വരസ്താൻ ഉദ്ധരിഷ്യതി തസ്യ ഭ്രാതൃഗണ ഇതി ജ്ഞാസ്യതി സ ഇത്യനുമാനം ചകാര, കിന്തു തേ ന ബുബുധിരേ|
And he supposed that his brethren would understand that, by his hand, God would give them salvation: but they understood not.
26 തത്പരേ ഽഹനി തേഷാമ് ഉഭയോ ർജനയോ ർവാക്കലഹ ഉപസ്ഥിതേ സതി മൂസാഃ സമീപം ഗത്വാ തയോ ർമേലനം കർത്തും മതിം കൃത്വാ കഥയാമാസ, ഹേ മഹാശയൗ യുവാം ഭ്രാതരൗ പരസ്പരമ് അന്യായം കുതഃ കുരുഥഃ?
And on the next day he showed himself to them, as they were fighting, and endeavored to persuade them to peace, saying, Men, you are brothers: why do you injure one another?
27 തതഃ സമീപവാസിനം പ്രതി യോ ജനോഽന്യായം ചകാര സ തം ദൂരീകൃത്യ കഥയാമാസ, അസ്മാകമുപരി ശാസ്തൃത്വവിചാരയിതൃത്വപദയോഃ കസ്ത്വാം നിയുക്തവാൻ?
But he that was doing the injury to his neighbor, thrust him away, saying, Who made you a ruler or a judge over us?
28 ഹ്യോ യഥാ മിസരീയം ഹതവാൻ തഥാ കിം മാമപി ഹനിഷ്യസി?
Do you intend to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?
29 തദാ മൂസാ ഏതാദൃശീം കഥാം ശ്രുത്വാ പലായനം ചക്രേ, തതോ മിദിയനദേശം ഗത്വാ പ്രവാസീ സൻ തസ്ഥൗ, തതസ്തത്ര ദ്വൗ പുത്രൗ ജജ്ഞാതേ|
And at that saying Moses fled, and became a resident in the land of Midian, where he begot two sons.
30 അനന്തരം ചത്വാരിംശദ്വത്സരേഷു ഗതേഷു സീനയപർവ്വതസ്യ പ്രാന്തരേ പ്രജ്വലിതസ്തമ്ബസ്യ വഹ്നിശിഖായാം പരമേശ്വരദൂതസ്തസ്മൈ ദർശനം ദദൗ|
And when forty years were completed, there appeared to him, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
31 മൂസാസ്തസ്മിൻ ദർശനേ വിസ്മയം മത്വാ വിശേഷം ജ്ഞാതും നികടം ഗച്ഛതി,
When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight, and as he was drawing near to observe it, the voice of the Lord came to him:
32 ഏതസ്മിൻ സമയേ, അഹം തവ പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാണാമ് ഈശ്വരോഽർഥാദ് ഇബ്രാഹീമ ഈശ്വര ഇസ്ഹാക ഈശ്വരോ യാകൂബ ഈശ്വരശ്ച, മൂസാമുദ്ദിശ്യ പരമേശ്വരസ്യൈതാദൃശീ വിഹായസീയാ വാണീ ബഭൂവ, തതഃ സ കമ്പാന്വിതഃ സൻ പുന ർനിരീക്ഷിതും പ്രഗൽഭോ ന ബഭൂവ|
I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses trembled, and durst not observe it.
33 പരമേശ്വരസ്തം ജഗാദ, തവ പാദയോഃ പാദുകേ മോചയ യത്ര തിഷ്ഠസി സാ പവിത്രഭൂമിഃ|
Then said the Lord to him: Loose your shoes from your feet; for the place in which you stand is holy ground.
34 അഹം മിസരദേശസ്ഥാനാം നിജലോകാനാം ദുർദ്ദശാം നിതാന്തമ് അപശ്യം, തേഷാം കാതര്യ്യോക്തിഞ്ച ശ്രുതവാൻ തസ്മാത് താൻ ഉദ്ധർത്തുമ് അവരുഹ്യാഗമമ്; ഇദാനീമ് ആഗച്ഛ മിസരദേശം ത്വാം പ്രേഷയാമി|
I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and I have come down to deliver them; and now come, and I will send you into Egypt.
35 കസ്ത്വാം ശാസ്തൃത്വവിചാരയിതൃത്വപദയോ ർനിയുക്തവാൻ, ഇതി വാക്യമുക്ത്വാ തൈ ര്യോ മൂസാ അവജ്ഞാതസ്തമേവ ഈശ്വരഃ സ്തമ്ബമധ്യേ ദർശനദാത്രാ തേന ദൂതേന ശാസ്താരം മുക്തിദാതാരഞ്ച കൃത്വാ പ്രേഷയാമാസ|
This Moses, whom they rejected, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge? him God sent as a ruler and as a redeemer, by the hand of the angel that appeared to him in the bush.
36 സ ച മിസരദേശേ സൂഫ്നാമ്നി സമുദ്രേ ച പശ്ചാത് ചത്വാരിംശദ്വത്സരാൻ യാവത് മഹാപ്രാന്തരേ നാനാപ്രകാരാണ്യദ്ഭുതാനി കർമ്മാണി ലക്ഷണാനി ച ദർശയിത്വാ താൻ ബഹിഃ കൃത്വാ സമാനിനായ|
He brought them out, after he had performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness, forty years.
37 പ്രഭുഃ പരമേശ്വരോ യുഷ്മാകം ഭ്രാതൃഗണസ്യ മധ്യേ മാദൃശമ് ഏകം ഭവിഷ്യദ്വക്താരമ് ഉത്പാദയിഷ്യതി തസ്യ കഥായാം യൂയം മനോ നിധാസ്യഥ, യോ ജന ഇസ്രായേലഃ സന്താനേഭ്യ ഏനാം കഥാം കഥയാമാസ സ ഏഷ മൂസാഃ|
This is that Moses, who said to the sons of Israel, A prophet like me will the Lord your God raise up for you from among your brethren; him shall you hear.
38 മഹാപ്രാന്തരസ്ഥമണ്ഡലീമധ്യേഽപി സ ഏവ സീനയപർവ്വതോപരി തേന സാർദ്ധം സംലാപിനോ ദൂതസ്യ ചാസ്മത്പിതൃഗണസ്യ മധ്യസ്ഥഃ സൻ അസ്മഭ്യം ദാതവ്യനി ജീവനദായകാനി വാക്യാനി ലേഭേ|
This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel that spoke to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers; he received the living oracles, that he might give them to us.
39 അസ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാസ്തമ് അമാന്യം കത്വാ സ്വേഭ്യോ ദൂരീകൃത്യ മിസരദേശം പരാവൃത്യ ഗന്തും മനോഭിരഭിലഷ്യ ഹാരോണം ജഗദുഃ,
To him our fathers were not willing to be obedient; but they rejected him, and turned back in their hearts to Egypt,
40 അസ്മാകമ് അഗ്രേഽഗ്രേ ഗന്തുമ് അസ്മദർഥം ദേവഗണം നിർമ്മാഹി യതോ യോ മൂസാ അസ്മാൻ മിസരദേശാദ് ബഹിഃ കൃത്വാനീതവാൻ തസ്യ കിം ജാതം തദസ്മാഭി ർന ജ്ഞായതേ|
saying to Aaron: Make us gods that shall go before us; for, as for this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what has become of him.
41 തസ്മിൻ സമയേ തേ ഗോവത്സാകൃതിം പ്രതിമാം നിർമ്മായ താമുദ്ദിശ്യ നൈവേദ്യമുത്മൃജ്യ സ്വഹസ്തകൃതവസ്തുനാ ആനന്ദിതവന്തഃ|
And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
42 തസ്മാദ് ഈശ്വരസ്തേഷാം പ്രതി വിമുഖഃ സൻ ആകാശസ്ഥം ജ്യോതിർഗണം പൂജയിതും തേഭ്യോഽനുമതിം ദദൗ, യാദൃശം ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനാം ഗ്രന്ഥേഷു ലിഖിതമാസ്തേ, യഥാ, ഇസ്രായേലീയവംശാ രേ ചത്വാരിംശത്സമാൻ പുരാ| മഹതി പ്രാന്തരേ സംസ്ഥാ യൂയന്തു യാനി ച| ബലിഹോമാദികർമ്മാണി കൃതവന്തസ്തു താനി കിം| മാം സമുദ്ദിശ്യ യുഷ്മാഭിഃ പ്രകൃതാനീതി നൈവ ച|
But God turned and delivered them up to serve the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: Your victims and your sacrifices did you offer to me for forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
43 കിന്തു വോ മോലകാഖ്യസ്യ ദേവസ്യ ദൂഷ്യമേവ ച| യുഷ്മാകം രിമ്ഫനാഖ്യായാ ദേവതായാശ്ച താരകാ| ഏതയോരുഭയോ ർമൂർതീ യുഷ്മാഭിഃ പരിപൂജിതേ| അതോ യുഷ്മാംസ്തു ബാബേലഃ പാരം നേഷ്യാമി നിശ്ചിതം|
Yes, you took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your God Remphan, images which you made to worship; and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
44 അപരഞ്ച യന്നിദർശനമ് അപശ്യസ്തദനുസാരേണ ദൂഷ്യം നിർമ്മാഹി യസ്മിൻ ഈശ്വരോ മൂസാമ് ഏതദ്വാക്യം ബഭാഷേ തത് തസ്യ നിരൂപിതം സാക്ഷ്യസ്വരൂപം ദൂഷ്യമ് അസ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷൈഃ സഹ പ്രാന്തരേ തസ്ഥൗ|
The tabernacle of the testimony was with our fathers in the wilderness, built as he who spoke to Moses commanded him to build it, according to the pattern which he had seen:
45 പശ്ചാത് യിഹോശൂയേന സഹിതൈസ്തേഷാം വംശജാതൈരസ്മത്പൂർവ്വപുരുഷൈഃ സ്വേഷാം സമ്മുഖാദ് ഈശ്വരേണ ദൂരീകൃതാനാമ് അന്യദേശീയാനാം ദേശാധികൃതികാലേ സമാനീതം തദ് ദൂഷ്യം ദായൂദോധികാരം യാവത് തത്ര സ്ഥാന ആസീത്|
which our fathers, who were with Joshua, received by succession, and brought into the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God continued to drive out from the face of our fathers till the days of David,
46 സ ദായൂദ് പരമേശ്വരസ്യാനുഗ്രഹം പ്രാപ്യ യാകൂബ് ഈശ്വരാർഥമ് ഏകം ദൂഷ്യം നിർമ്മാതും വവാഞ്ഛ;
who found favor before God, and desired to find a dwelling-place for the God of Jacob.
47 കിന്തു സുലേമാൻ തദർഥം മന്ദിരമ് ഏകം നിർമ്മിതവാൻ|
But Solomon built him a house.
48 തഥാപി യഃ സർവ്വോപരിസ്ഥഃ സ കസ്മിംശ്ചിദ് ഹസ്തകൃതേ മന്ദിരേ നിവസതീതി നഹി, ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദീ കഥാമേതാം കഥയതി, യഥാ,
Yet the Most High dwells not in temples made with hands, as says the prophet:
49 പരേശോ വദതി സ്വർഗോ രാജസിംഹാസനം മമ| മദീയം പാദപീഠഞ്ച പൃഥിവീ ഭവതി ധ്രുവം| തർഹി യൂയം കൃതേ മേ കിം പ്രനിർമ്മാസ്യഥ മന്ദിരം| വിശ്രാമായ മദീയം വാ സ്ഥാനം കിം വിദ്യതേ ത്വിഹ|
Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What house will you build me? says the Lord; or what is the place of my rest?
50 സർവ്വാണ്യേതാനി വസ്തൂനി കിം മേ ഹസ്തകൃതാനി ന||
Has not my hand made all these things?
51 ഹേ അനാജ്ഞാഗ്രാഹകാ അന്തഃകരണേ ശ്രവണേ ചാപവിത്രലോകാഃ യൂയമ് അനവരതം പവിത്രസ്യാത്മനഃ പ്രാതികൂല്യമ് ആചരഥ, യുഷ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാ യാദൃശാ യൂയമപി താദൃശാഃ|
You stiff-necked, and uncircumcised in heart and in ears, you do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so also do you.
52 യുഷ്മാകം പൂർവ്വപുരുഷാഃ കം ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനം നാതാഡയൻ? യേ തസ്യ ധാർമ്മികസ്യ ജനസ്യാഗമനകഥാം കഥിതവന്തസ്താൻ അഘ്നൻ യൂയമ് അധൂനാ വിശ്വാസഘാതിനോ ഭൂത്വാ തം ധാർമ്മികം ജനമ് അഹത|
Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? They slew also those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you have now become the betrayers and murderers;
53 യൂയം സ്വർഗീയദൂതഗണേന വ്യവസ്ഥാം പ്രാപ്യാപി താം നാചരഥ|
who received the law by the appointment of angels, and have not kepi, it.
54 ഇമാം കഥാം ശ്രുത്വാ തേ മനഃസു ബിദ്ധാഃ സന്തസ്തം പ്രതി ദന്തഘർഷണമ് അകുർവ്വൻ|
When they heard these things, they were enraged in their hearts, and gnashed upon him with their teeth.
55 കിന്തു സ്തിഫാനഃ പവിത്രേണാത്മനാ പൂർണോ ഭൂത്വാ ഗഗണം പ്രതി സ്ഥിരദൃഷ്ടിം കൃത്വാ ഈശ്വരസ്യ ദക്ഷിണേ ദണ്ഡായമാനം യീശുഞ്ച വിലോക്യ കഥിതവാൻ;
But being full of the Holy Spirit, he looked earnestly up into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;
56 പശ്യ, മേഘദ്വാരം മുക്തമ് ഈശ്വരസ്യ ദക്ഷിണേ സ്ഥിതം മാനവസുതഞ്ച പശ്യാമി|
and he said: Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.
57 തദാ തേ പ്രോച്ചൈഃ ശബ്ദം കൃത്വാ കർണേഷ്വങ്ഗുലീ ർനിധായ ഏകചിത്തീഭൂയ തമ് ആക്രമൻ|
And they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and, with one consent, rushed upon him,
58 പശ്ചാത് തം നഗരാദ് ബഹിഃ കൃത്വാ പ്രസ്തരൈരാഘ്നൻ സാക്ഷിണോ ലാകാഃ ശൗലനാമ്നോ യൂനശ്ചരണസന്നിധൗ നിജവസ്ത്രാണി സ്ഥാപിതവന്തഃ|
and drove him out of the city, and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man called Saul.
59 അനന്തരം ഹേ പ്രഭോ യീശേ മദീയമാത്മാനം ഗൃഹാണ സ്തിഫാനസ്യേതി പ്രാർഥനവാക്യവദനസമയേ തേ തം പ്രസ്തരൈരാഘ്നൻ|
And they stoned Stephen while he was calling on the Lord, and saying: Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
60 തസ്മാത് സ ജാനുനീ പാതയിത്വാ പ്രോച്ചൈഃ ശബ്ദം കൃത്വാ, ഹേ പ്രഭേ പാപമേതദ് ഏതേഷു മാ സ്ഥാപയ, ഇത്യുക്ത്വാ മഹാനിദ്രാം പ്രാപ്നോത്|
And he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice: Lord, let not this sin stand against them. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. And Saul was well pleased with his death.
