ಲೂಕಃ 11
1 ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಸ ಕಸ್ಮಿಂಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಸ್ಥಾನೇ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯತ ತತ್ಸಮಾಪ್ತೌ ಸತ್ಯಾಂ ತಸ್ಯೈಕಃ ಶಿಷ್ಯಸ್ತಂ ಜಗಾದ ಹೇ ಪ್ರಭೋ ಯೋಹನ್ ಯಥಾ ಸ್ವಶಿಷ್ಯಾನ್ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯಿತುಮ್ ಉಪದಿಷ್ಟವಾನ್ ತಥಾ ಭವಾನಪ್ಯಸ್ಮಾನ್ ಉಪದಿಶತು|
AND it was that while he was praying in a certain place, when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, Our Lord, teach us to pray as also Juchanon taught his disciples.
2 ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸ, ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಕಾಲೇ ಯೂಯಮ್ ಇತ್ಥಂ ಕಥಯಧ್ವಂ, ಹೇ ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಸ್ಥಪಿತಸ್ತವ ನಾಮ ಪೂಜ್ಯಂ ಭವತು; ತವ ರಾಜತ್ವಂ ಭವತು; ಸ್ವರ್ಗೇ ಯಥಾ ತಥಾ ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಮಪಿ ತವೇಚ್ಛಯಾ ಸರ್ವ್ವಂ ಭವತು|
Jeshu said to them, When you pray, thus be saying, Our Father who (art) in the heavens, be sanctified thy name. Come thy kingdom. Be done thy will as in the heavens also upon earth.
3 ಪ್ರತ್ಯಹಮ್ ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನೀಯಂ ಭೋಜ್ಯಂ ದೇಹಿ|
Give to us the bread of our need every day,
4 ಯಥಾ ವಯಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾನ್ ಅಪರಾಧಿನಃ ಕ್ಷಮಾಮಹೇ ತಥಾ ತ್ವಮಪಿ ಪಾಪಾನ್ಯಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕ್ಷಮಸ್ವ| ಅಸ್ಮಾನ್ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾಂ ಮಾನಯ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪಾಪಾತ್ಮನೋ ರಕ್ಷ|
and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive all who are indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil.
5 ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ ಸೋಪರಮಪಿ ಕಥಿತವಾನ್ ಯದಿ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕಸ್ಯಚಿದ್ ಬನ್ಧುಸ್ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ ನಿಶೀಥೇ ಚ ತಸ್ಯ ಸಮೀಪಂ ಸ ಗತ್ವಾ ವದತಿ,
And he said to them, Who of you that has a friend, and shall go to him at midnight, and shall say to him, My friend, lend me three loaves,
6 ಹೇ ಬನ್ಧೋ ಪಥಿಕ ಏಕೋ ಬನ್ಧು ರ್ಮಮ ನಿವೇಶನಮ್ ಆಯಾತಃ ಕಿನ್ತು ತಸ್ಯಾತಿಥ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ತ್ತುಂ ಮಮಾನ್ತಿಕೇ ಕಿಮಪಿ ನಾಸ್ತಿ, ಅತಏವ ಪೂಪತ್ರಯಂ ಮಹ್ಯಮ್ ಋಣಂ ದೇಹಿ;
because a friend has come to me from the way, and I have nothing to set to him?
7 ತದಾ ಸ ಯದಿ ಗೃಹಮಧ್ಯಾತ್ ಪ್ರತಿವದತಿ ಮಾಂ ಮಾ ಕ್ಲಿಶಾನ, ಇದಾನೀಂ ದ್ವಾರಂ ರುದ್ಧಂ ಶಯನೇ ಮಯಾ ಸಹ ಬಾಲಕಾಶ್ಚ ತಿಷ್ಠನ್ತಿ ತುಭ್ಯಂ ದಾತುಮ್ ಉತ್ಥಾತುಂ ನ ಶಕ್ನೋಮಿ,
and that friend from within shall answer and say unto him, Disturb me not, for the door is shut, and my children are with me in bed: I cannot rise and give to you.
8 ತರ್ಹಿ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನಹಂ ವದಾಮಿ, ಸ ಯದಿ ಮಿತ್ರತಯಾ ತಸ್ಮೈ ಕಿಮಪಿ ದಾತುಂ ನೋತ್ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ ತಥಾಪಿ ವಾರಂ ವಾರಂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾತ ಉತ್ಥಾಪಿತಃ ಸನ್ ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ ತಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಂ ತದೇವ ದಾಸ್ಯತಿ|
I tell you if for friendship's sake he will not give him, (yet) because of importunity he will arise and give him as many as he needeth.
9 ಅತಃ ಕಾರಣಾತ್ ಕಥಯಾಮಿ, ಯಾಚಧ್ವಂ ತತೋ ಯುಷ್ಮಭ್ಯಂ ದಾಸ್ಯತೇ, ಮೃಗಯಧ್ವಂ ತತ ಉದ್ದೇಶಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಸ್ಯಥ, ದ್ವಾರಮ್ ಆಹತ ತತೋ ಯುಷ್ಮಭ್ಯಂ ದ್ವಾರಂ ಮೋಕ್ಷ್ಯತೇ|
I say also to you, Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
10 ಯೋ ಯಾಚತೇ ಸ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ನೋತಿ, ಯೋ ಮೃಗಯತೇ ಸ ಏವೋದ್ದೇಶಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ನೋತಿ, ಯೋ ದ್ವಾರಮ್ ಆಹನ್ತಿ ತದರ್ಥಂ ದ್ವಾರಂ ಮೋಚ್ಯತೇ|
For every one who asketh receiveth, and who seeketh findeth, and who knocketh hath it opened to him.
11 ಪುತ್ರೇಣ ಪೂಪೇ ಯಾಚಿತೇ ತಸ್ಮೈ ಪಾಷಾಣಂ ದದಾತಿ ವಾ ಮತ್ಸ್ಯೇ ಯಾಚಿತೇ ತಸ್ಮೈ ಸರ್ಪಂ ದದಾತಿ
For what father (is there) among you who, if his son shall ask bread, will reach to him a stone? or should he ask a fish, how instead of a fish will he reach to him a serpent?
12 ವಾ ಅಣ್ಡೇ ಯಾಚಿತೇ ತಸ್ಮೈ ವೃಶ್ಚಿಕಂ ದದಾತಿ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ಕ ಏತಾದೃಶಃ ಪಿತಾಸ್ತೇ?
or if an egg he shall ask, will he a scorpion reach to him?
13 ತಸ್ಮಾದೇವ ಯೂಯಮಭದ್ರಾ ಅಪಿ ಯದಿ ಸ್ವಸ್ವಬಾಲಕೇಭ್ಯ ಉತ್ತಮಾನಿ ದ್ರವ್ಯಾಣಿ ದಾತುಂ ಜಾನೀಥ ತರ್ಹ್ಯಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಸ್ಥಃ ಪಿತಾ ನಿಜಯಾಚಕೇಭ್ಯಃ ಕಿಂ ಪವಿತ್ರಮ್ ಆತ್ಮಾನಂ ನ ದಾಸ್ಯತಿ?
And if you, who are evil, know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father from the heavens give the Spirit of Holiness to those who ask him!
14 ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಯೀಶುನಾ ಕಸ್ಮಾಚ್ಚಿದ್ ಏಕಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಮೂಕಭೂತೇ ತ್ಯಾಜಿತೇ ಸತಿ ಸ ಭೂತತ್ಯಕ್ತೋ ಮಾನುಷೋ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ವಕ್ತುಮ್ ಆರೇಭೇ; ತತೋ ಲೋಕಾಃ ಸಕಲಾ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಮೇನಿರೇ|
AND he was casting out a demon which was dumb; and when he had cast out the demon, the dumb spake, and the multitudes wondered.
15 ಕಿನ್ತು ತೇಷಾಂ ಕೇಚಿದೂಚು ರ್ಜನೋಯಂ ಬಾಲಸಿಬೂಬಾ ಅರ್ಥಾದ್ ಭೂತರಾಜೇನ ಭೂತಾನ್ ತ್ಯಾಜಯತಿ|
But some from them said, By Beelzebub, the prince of the devils, he casteth out devils;
16 ತಂ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿತುಂ ಕೇಚಿದ್ ಆಕಾಶೀಯಮ್ ಏಕಂ ಚಿಹ್ನಂ ದರ್ಶಯಿತುಂ ತಂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯಾಞ್ಚಕ್ರಿರೇ|
while others, tempting him, the sign from heaven demanded of him.
17 ತದಾ ಸ ತೇಷಾಂ ಮನಃಕಲ್ಪನಾಂ ಜ್ಞಾತ್ವಾ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸ, ಕಸ್ಯಚಿದ್ ರಾಜ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಲೋಕಾ ಯದಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರಂ ವಿರುನ್ಧನ್ತಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ತದ್ ರಾಜ್ಯಮ್ ನಶ್ಯತಿ; ಕೇಚಿದ್ ಗೃಹಸ್ಥಾ ಯದಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರಂ ವಿರುನ್ಧನ್ತಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ತೇಪಿ ನಶ್ಯನ್ತಿ|
But Jeshu, who knew their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom which is divided against itself will be desolated; and a house that against its own self is divided falleth;
18 ತಥೈವ ಶೈತಾನಪಿ ಸ್ವಲೋಕಾನ್ ಯದಿ ವಿರುಣದ್ಧಿ ತದಾ ತಸ್ಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಂ ಕಥಂ ಸ್ಥಾಸ್ಯತಿ? ಬಾಲಸಿಬೂಬಾಹಂ ಭೂತಾನ್ ತ್ಯಾಜಯಾಮಿ ಯೂಯಮಿತಿ ವದಥ|
and if Satana against himself be divided, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say that through Beelzebub I cast out devils.
19 ಯದ್ಯಹಂ ಬಾಲಸಿಬೂಬಾ ಭೂತಾನ್ ತ್ಯಾಜಯಾಮಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಸನ್ತಾನಾಃ ಕೇನ ತ್ಯಾಜಯನ್ತಿ? ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ತಏವ ಕಥಾಯಾ ಏತಸ್ಯಾ ವಿಚಾರಯಿತಾರೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯನ್ತಿ|
But if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, your sons, by what do they cast (them) out? On account of this they shall be your judges.
20 ಕಿನ್ತು ಯದ್ಯಹಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಭೂತಾನ್ ತ್ಯಾಜಯಾಮಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ನಿಕಟಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಮವಶ್ಯಮ್ ಉಪತಿಷ್ಠತಿ|
But if by the finger of Aloha I cast out devils, there hath drawn nigh upon you the kingdom of Aloha.
21 ಬಲವಾನ್ ಪುಮಾನ್ ಸುಸಜ್ಜಮಾನೋ ಯತಿಕಾಲಂ ನಿಜಾಟ್ಟಾಲಿಕಾಂ ರಕ್ಷತಿ ತತಿಕಾಲಂ ತಸ್ಯ ದ್ರವ್ಯಂ ನಿರುಪದ್ರವಂ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ|
When the strong one armed keepeth his court, his possession is in peace;
22 ಕಿನ್ತು ತಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಅಧಿಕಬಲಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿದಾಗತ್ಯ ಯದಿ ತಂ ಜಯತಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ಯೇಷು ಶಸ್ತ್ರಾಸ್ತ್ರೇಷು ತಸ್ಯ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಆಸೀತ್ ತಾನಿ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾಣಿ ಹೃತ್ವಾ ತಸ್ಯ ದ್ರವ್ಯಾಣಿ ಗೃಹ್ಲಾತಿ|
but if a stronger than he shall come, he shall overcome him; all his armour he taketh on which he depended, and he divideth his spoils.
23 ಅತಃ ಕಾರಣಾದ್ ಯೋ ಮಮ ಸಪಕ್ಷೋ ನ ಸ ವಿಪಕ್ಷಃ, ಯೋ ಮಯಾ ಸಹ ನ ಸಂಗೃಹ್ಲಾತಿ ಸ ವಿಕಿರತಿ|
He who is not with me is against me; and he who does not collect with me, by scattering he scattereth.
24 ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಅಮೇಧ್ಯಭೂತೋ ಮಾನುಷಸ್ಯಾನ್ತರ್ನಿರ್ಗತ್ಯ ಶುಷ್ಕಸ್ಥಾನೇ ಭ್ರಾನ್ತ್ವಾ ವಿಶ್ರಾಮಂ ಮೃಗಯತೇ ಕಿನ್ತು ನ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ವದತಿ ಮಮ ಯಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಗೃಹಾದ್ ಆಗತೋಹಂ ಪುನಸ್ತದ್ ಗೃಹಂ ಪರಾವೃತ್ಯ ಯಾಮಿ|
The unclean spirit, when he hath gone out from a son of man, goeth about through regions which have no waters in them, because he seeketh to him rest. And when he cannot find it he saith, I will return to my house from whence I went out.
25 ತತೋ ಗತ್ವಾ ತದ್ ಗೃಹಂ ಮಾರ್ಜಿತಂ ಶೋಭಿತಞ್ಚ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ
And when he cometh he findeth it swept and ornamented.
26 ತತ್ಕ್ಷಣಮ್ ಅಪಗತ್ಯ ಸ್ವಸ್ಮಾದಪಿ ದುರ್ಮ್ಮತೀನ್ ಅಪರಾನ್ ಸಪ್ತಭೂತಾನ್ ಸಹಾನಯತಿ ತೇ ಚ ತದ್ಗೃಹಂ ಪವಿಶ್ಯ ನಿವಸನ್ತಿ| ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ತಸ್ಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಥಮದಶಾತಃ ಶೇಷದಶಾ ದುಃಖತರಾ ಭವತಿ|
Then he goeth, taketh seven other spirits who are more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last of that man is worse than his first.
27 ಅಸ್ಯಾಃ ಕಥಾಯಾಃ ಕಥನಕಾಲೇ ಜನತಾಮಧ್ಯಸ್ಥಾ ಕಾಚಿನ್ನಾರೀ ತಮುಚ್ಚೈಃಸ್ವರಂ ಪ್ರೋವಾಚ, ಯಾ ಯೋಷಿತ್ ತ್ವಾಂ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭೇಽಧಾರಯತ್ ಸ್ತನ್ಯಮಪಾಯಯಚ್ಚ ಸೈವ ಧನ್ಯಾ|
AND while he spake these words, a certain woman lifted up her voice from the crowd, and said to him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the breasts which thou hast sucked!
28 ಕಿನ್ತು ಸೋಕಥಯತ್ ಯೇ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಕಥಾಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ತದನುರೂಪಮ್ ಆಚರನ್ತಿ ತಏವ ಧನ್ಯಾಃ|
He said to her, Blessed are they who hear the word of Aloha and keep it.
29 ತತಃ ಪರಂ ತಸ್ಯಾನ್ತಿಕೇ ಬಹುಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಸಮಾಗಮೇ ಜಾತೇ ಸ ವಕ್ತುಮಾರೇಭೇ, ಆಧುನಿಕಾ ದುಷ್ಟಲೋಕಾಶ್ಚಿಹ್ನಂ ದ್ರಷ್ಟುಮಿಚ್ಛನ್ತಿ ಕಿನ್ತು ಯೂನಸ್ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಶ್ಚಿಹ್ನಂ ವಿನಾನ್ಯತ್ ಕಿಞ್ಚಿಚ್ಚಿಹ್ನಂ ತಾನ್ ನ ದರ್ಶಯಿಷ್ಯತೇ|
And when the assemblies had gathered together, he began to say, This evil generation requireth a sign; but no sign shall be given to it save the sign of Jaunon the prophet.
30 ಯೂನಸ್ ತು ಯಥಾ ನೀನಿವೀಯಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಚಿಹ್ನರೂಪೋಭವತ್ ತಥಾ ವಿದ್ಯಮಾನಲೋಕಾನಾಮ್ ಏಷಾಂ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರೋಪಿ ಚಿಹ್ನರೂಪೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
For as was Jaunon a sign to the Ninvoyee, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
31 ವಿಚಾರಸಮಯೇ ಇದಾನೀನ್ತನಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಪ್ರಾತಿಕೂಲ್ಯೇನ ದಕ್ಷಿಣದೇಶೀಯಾ ರಾಜ್ಞೀ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಥಾಯ ತಾನ್ ದೋಷಿಣಃ ಕರಿಷ್ಯತಿ, ಯತಃ ಸಾ ರಾಜ್ಞೀ ಸುಲೇಮಾನ ಉಪದೇಶಕಥಾಂ ಶ್ರೋತುಂ ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಃ ಸೀಮಾತ ಆಗಚ್ಛತ್ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪಶ್ಯತ ಸುಲೇಮಾನೋಪಿ ಗುರುತರ ಏಕೋ ಜನೋಽಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸ್ಥಾನೇ ವಿದ್ಯತೇ|
The queen of the south shall rise in judgment with the men of this generation, and shall condemn them; for she came from the confines of the earth to hear the wisdom of Shelemun, and, lo, a greater than Shelemun is here.
32 ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ವಿಚಾರಸಮಯೇ ನೀನಿವೀಯಲೋಕಾ ಅಪಿ ವರ್ತ್ತಮಾನಕಾಲಿಕಾನಾಂ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ವೈಪರೀತ್ಯೇನ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಥಾಯ ತಾನ್ ದೋಷಿಣಃ ಕರಿಷ್ಯನ್ತಿ, ಯತೋ ಹೇತೋಸ್ತೇ ಯೂನಸೋ ವಾಕ್ಯಾತ್ ಚಿತ್ತಾನಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತ್ತಯಾಮಾಸುಃ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪಶ್ಯತ ಯೂನಸೋತಿಗುರುತರ ಏಕೋ ಜನೋಽಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸ್ಥಾನೇ ವಿದ್ಯತೇ|
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jaunon, and, lo, a greater than Jaunon is here.
33 ಪ್ರದೀಪಂ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಾಲ್ಯ ದ್ರೋಣಸ್ಯಾಧಃ ಕುತ್ರಾಪಿ ಗುಪ್ತಸ್ಥಾನೇ ವಾ ಕೋಪಿ ನ ಸ್ಥಾಪಯತಿ ಕಿನ್ತು ಗೃಹಪ್ರವೇಶಿಭ್ಯೋ ದೀಪ್ತಿಂ ದಾತಂ ದೀಪಾಧಾರೋಪರ್ಯ್ಯೇವ ಸ್ಥಾಪಯತಿ|
No man lighteth a lamp and setteth it in a secret (place) or under a measure, but upon a candlestick, that they who enter may see the light of it.
34 ದೇಹಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರದೀಪಶ್ಚಕ್ಷುಸ್ತಸ್ಮಾದೇವ ಚಕ್ಷು ರ್ಯದಿ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಂ ಭವತಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ತವ ಸರ್ವ್ವಶರೀರಂ ದೀಪ್ತಿಮದ್ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ ಕಿನ್ತು ಚಕ್ಷು ರ್ಯದಿ ಮಲೀಮಸಂ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ಸರ್ವ್ವಶರೀರಂ ಸಾನ್ಧಕಾರಂ ಸ್ಥಾಸ್ಯತಿ|
The lamp of thy body is thine eye; when therefore thine eye is simple, thy whole body also will be illuminated; but if it be evil, thy body also will be darkness.
35 ಅಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಕಾರಣಾತ್ ತವಾನ್ತಃಸ್ಥಂ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ರ್ಯಥಾನ್ಧಕಾರಮಯಂ ನ ಭವತಿ ತದರ್ಥೇ ಸಾವಧಾನೋ ಭವ|
Beware, therefore, lest the light that is in thee become darkness.
36 ಯತಃ ಶರೀರಸ್ಯ ಕುತ್ರಾಪ್ಯಂಶೇ ಸಾನ್ಧಕಾರೇ ನ ಜಾತೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವಂ ಯದಿ ದೀಪ್ತಿಮತ್ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ತುಭ್ಯಂ ದೀಪ್ತಿದಾಯಿಪ್ರೋಜ್ಜ್ವಲನ್ ಪ್ರದೀಪ ಇವ ತವ ಸವರ್ವಶರೀರಂ ದೀಪ್ತಿಮದ್ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
But if thy whole body be illuminated, and no part whatever in it be darkness, the whole will be light, as when a lamp with its flame enlighteneth thee.
37 ಏತತ್ಕಥಾಯಾಃ ಕಥನಕಾಲೇ ಫಿರುಶ್ಯೇಕೋ ಭೇಜನಾಯ ತಂ ನಿಮನ್ತ್ರಯಾಮಾಸ, ತತಃ ಸ ಗತ್ವಾ ಭೋಕ್ತುಮ್ ಉಪವಿವೇಶ|
AND as he was speaking, a certain Pharisha requested of him to dine with him, and he went in to recline.
38 ಕಿನ್ತು ಭೋಜನಾತ್ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವಂ ನಾಮಾಙ್ಕ್ಷೀತ್ ಏತದ್ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಸ ಫಿರುಶ್ಯಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಮೇನೇ|
But he, the Pharisha, when he saw him, wondered that he had not first washed before his dinner.
39 ತದಾ ಪ್ರಭುಸ್ತಂ ಪ್ರೋವಾಚ ಯೂಯಂ ಫಿರೂಶಿಲೋಕಾಃ ಪಾನಪಾತ್ರಾಣಾಂ ಭೋಜನಪಾತ್ರಾಣಾಞ್ಚ ಬಹಿಃ ಪರಿಷ್ಕುರುಥ ಕಿನ್ತು ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಮನ್ತ ರ್ದೌರಾತ್ಮ್ಯೈ ರ್ದುಷ್ಕ್ರಿಯಾಭಿಶ್ಚ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣಂ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ|
But Jeshu said to him, Now you Pharishee cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, but within you are full of rapine and wickedness.
40 ಹೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ನಿರ್ಬೋಧಾ ಯೋ ಬಹಿಃ ಸಸರ್ಜ ಸ ಏವ ಕಿಮನ್ತ ರ್ನ ಸಸರ್ಜ?
Wanting in understanding! did not he who made that which is without, make also that which is within?
41 ತತ ಏವ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಭಿರನ್ತಃಕರಣಂ (ಈಶ್ವರಾಯ) ನಿವೇದ್ಯತಾಂ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಕೃತೇ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾಣಿ ಶುಚಿತಾಂ ಯಾಸ್ಯನ್ತಿ|
But of whatever there is, give in alms, and, behold, every thing is clean to you.
42 ಕಿನ್ತು ಹನ್ತ ಫಿರೂಶಿಗಣಾ ಯೂಯಂ ನ್ಯಾಯಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರೇ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಚ ಪರಿತ್ಯಜ್ಯ ಪೋದಿನಾಯಾ ಅರುದಾದೀನಾಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಷಾಂ ಶಾಕಾನಾಞ್ಚ ದಶಮಾಂಶಾನ್ ದತ್ಥ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪ್ರಥಮಂ ಪಾಲಯಿತ್ವಾ ಶೇಷಸ್ಯಾಲಙ್ಘನಂ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಮ್ ಉಚಿತಮಾಸೀತ್|
But woe to you, Pharishee! for you tithe mint, and rue, and every herb, and pass by judgment and the love of Aloha. These hath it behoved you to do, and those not to have omitted.
43 ಹಾ ಹಾ ಫಿರೂಶಿನೋ ಯೂಯಂ ಭಜನಗೇಹೇ ಪ್ರೋಚ್ಚಾಸನೇ ಆಪಣೇಷು ಚ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರೇಷು ಪ್ರೀಯಧ್ವೇ|
Woe to you, Pharishee! for you love the chief seats in the assemblies, and the salutation in the public places.
44 ವತ ಕಪಟಿನೋಽಧ್ಯಾಪಕಾಃ ಫಿರೂಶಿನಶ್ಚ ಲೋಕಾಯತ್ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಮ್ ಅನುಪಲಭ್ಯ ತದುಪರಿ ಗಚ್ಛನ್ತಿ ಯೂಯಮ್ ತಾದೃಗಪ್ರಕಾಶಿತಶ್ಮಶಾನವಾದ್ ಭವಥ|
Woe to you, scribes and Pharishee, hypocrites! for you are like tombs that are not known, and men walk upon them, and do not know.
45 ತದಾನೀಂ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕಾನಾಮ್ ಏಕಾ ಯೀಶುಮವದತ್, ಹೇ ಉಪದೇಶಕ ವಾಕ್ಯೇನೇದೃಶೇನಾಸ್ಮಾಸ್ವಪಿ ದೋಷಮ್ ಆರೋಪಯಸಿ|
And one of the Sophree answered and said to him, Doctor, while you say these things, you vilify us also!
46 ತತಃ ಸ ಉವಾಚ, ಹಾ ಹಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕಾ ಯೂಯಮ್ ಮಾನುಷಾಣಾಮ್ ಉಪರಿ ದುಃಸಹ್ಯಾನ್ ಭಾರಾನ್ ನ್ಯಸ್ಯಥ ಕಿನ್ತು ಸ್ವಯಮ್ ಏಕಾಙ್ಗುಲ್ಯಾಪಿ ತಾನ್ ಭಾರಾನ್ ನ ಸ್ಪೃಶಥ|
But he said, Also unto you, Sophree, woe! because you lade men with heavy burdens, and you with one of your fingers will not touch those burdens.
47 ಹನ್ತ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವಪುರುಷಾ ಯಾನ್ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನೋಽವಧಿಷುಸ್ತೇಷಾಂ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಾನಿ ಯೂಯಂ ನಿರ್ಮ್ಮಾಥ|
Woe to you! for you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed:
48 ತೇನೈವ ಯೂಯಂ ಸ್ವಪೂರ್ವ್ವಪುರುಷಾಣಾಂ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣಿ ಸಂಮನ್ಯಧ್ವೇ ತದೇವ ಸಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ಕುರುಥ ಚ, ಯತಸ್ತೇ ತಾನವಧಿಷುಃ ಯೂಯಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಾನಿ ನಿರ್ಮ್ಮಾಥ|
thus you bear witness that you consent in the deeds of your fathers; for they killed them, and you build their sepulchres.
49 ಅತಏವ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೇ ಪ್ರೋಕ್ತಮಸ್ತಿ ತೇಷಾಮನ್ತಿಕೇ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಃ ಪ್ರೇರಿತಾಂಶ್ಚ ಪ್ರೇಷಯಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ತತಸ್ತೇ ತೇಷಾಂ ಕಾಂಶ್ಚನ ಹನಿಷ್ಯನ್ತಿ ಕಾಂಶ್ಚನ ತಾಡಶ್ಷ್ಯಿನ್ತಿ|
ON this account also Wisdom saith, Behold, I will send to them prophets and apostles; and of them they will persecute and kill;
50 ಏತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಕಾರಣಾತ್ ಹಾಬಿಲಃ ಶೋಣಿತಪಾತಮಾರಭ್ಯ ಮನ್ದಿರಯಜ್ಞವೇದ್ಯೋ ರ್ಮಧ್ಯೇ ಹತಸ್ಯ ಸಿಖರಿಯಸ್ಯ ರಕ್ತಪಾತಪರ್ಯ್ಯನ್ತಂ
that the blood of all the prophets which hath been shed from the creation of the world may be required from this generation.
51 ಜಗತಃ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಮಾರಭ್ಯ ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಾಂ ಯತಿರಕ್ತಪಾತಾ ಜಾತಾಸ್ತತೀನಾಮ್ ಅಪರಾಧದಣ್ಡಾ ಏಷಾಂ ವರ್ತ್ತಮಾನಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯನ್ತಿ, ಯುಷ್ಮಾನಹಂ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತಂ ವದಾಮಿ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ದಣ್ಡಾ ವಂಶಸ್ಯಾಸ್ಯ ಭವಿಷ್ಯನ್ತಿ|
From the blood of Habil unto the blood of Zakaria who was killed between the temple and the altar: yes, I tell you, It shall be required of this generation.
52 ಹಾ ಹಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಪಕಾ ಯೂಯಂ ಜ್ಞಾನಸ್ಯ ಕುಞ್ಚಿಕಾಂ ಹೃತ್ವಾ ಸ್ವಯಂ ನ ಪ್ರವಿಷ್ಟಾ ಯೇ ಪ್ರವೇಷ್ಟುಞ್ಚ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಿನಸ್ತಾನಪಿ ಪ್ರವೇಷ್ಟುಂ ವಾರಿತವನ್ತಃ|
Woe to you, Sophree; for you have taken away the key of knowledge; you enter not in (yourselves), and they who are entering you prohibit.
53 ಇತ್ಥಂ ಕಥಾಕಥನಾದ್ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕಾಃ ಫಿರೂಶಿನಶ್ಚ ಸತರ್ಕಾಃ
And while he spoke these (words) to them, the Sophree and Pharishee began to be displeased, and they were wrathful, and controverted his words, and enticed him on many (points),
54 ಸನ್ತಸ್ತಮಪವದಿತುಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಕಥಾಯಾ ದೋಷಂ ಧರ್ತ್ತಮಿಚ್ಛನ್ತೋ ನಾನಾಖ್ಯಾನಕಥನಾಯ ತಂ ಪ್ರವರ್ತ್ತಯಿತುಂ ಕೋಪಯಿತುಞ್ಚ ಪ್ರಾರೇಭಿರೇ|
seeking to lay hold on something from his mouth that they might be able to accuse him.
