ಲೂಕಃ 1
1 ಪ್ರಥಮತೋ ಯೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಣೋ ವಾಕ್ಯಪ್ರಚಾರಕಾಶ್ಚಾಸನ್ ತೇಽಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ಯದ್ಯತ್ ಸಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಮರ್ಪಯನ್ತಿ ಸ್ಮ
SINCE many have attempted to compose a narrative of facts, confirmed to us by the fullest evidence:
2 ತದನುಸಾರತೋಽನ್ಯೇಪಿ ಬಹವಸ್ತದ್ವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಂ ರಚಯಿತುಂ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಾಃ|
exactly as they delivered them to us, who were eve witnesses from the first, and ministers of the word;
3 ಅತಏವ ಹೇ ಮಹಾಮಹಿಮಥಿಯಫಿಲ್ ತ್ವಂ ಯಾ ಯಾಃ ಕಥಾ ಅಶಿಕ್ಷ್ಯಥಾಸ್ತಾಸಾಂ ದೃಢಪ್ರಮಾಣಾನಿ ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ನೋಷಿ
it seemed right to me also, having obtained accurate knowledge of all things from above, to write to thee in regular order, most excellent Theophilus,
4 ತದರ್ಥಂ ಪ್ರಥಮಮಾರಭ್ಯ ತಾನಿ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾಣಿ ಜ್ಞಾತ್ವಾಹಮಪಿ ಅನುಕ್ರಮಾತ್ ಸರ್ವ್ವವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಾನ್ ತುಭ್ಯಂ ಲೇಖಿತುಂ ಮತಿಮಕಾರ್ಷಮ್|
to the intent that thou mayest clearly know the certainty of those matters, concerning which thou hast been instructed.
5 ಯಿಹೂದಾದೇಶೀಯಹೇರೋದ್ನಾಮಕೇ ರಾಜತ್ವಂ ಕುರ್ವ್ವತಿ ಅಬೀಯಯಾಜಕಸ್ಯ ಪರ್ಯ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಕಾರೀ ಸಿಖರಿಯನಾಮಕ ಏಕೋ ಯಾಜಕೋ ಹಾರೋಣವಂಶೋದ್ಭವಾ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾಖ್ಯಾ
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abiah: and his wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elisabeth.
6 ತಸ್ಯ ಜಾಯಾ ದ್ವಾವಿಮೌ ನಿರ್ದೋಷೌ ಪ್ರಭೋಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾಜ್ಞಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಶ್ಚ ಸಂಮನ್ಯ ಈಶ್ವರದೃಷ್ಟೌ ಧಾರ್ಮ್ಮಿಕಾವಾಸ್ತಾಮ್|
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
7 ತಯೋಃ ಸನ್ತಾನ ಏಕೋಪಿ ನಾಸೀತ್, ಯತ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾ ಬನ್ಧ್ಯಾ ತೌ ದ್ವಾವೇವ ವೃದ್ಧಾವಭವತಾಮ್|
And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were far advanced in years.
8 ಯದಾ ಸ್ವಪರ್ಯ್ಯಾನುಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಸಿಖರಿಯ ಈಶ್ವಾಸ್ಯ ಸಮಕ್ಷಂ ಯಾಜಕೀಯಂ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮ ಕರೋತಿ
And it came to pass, as he discharged his priestly office in the order of his periodical ministration before God,
9 ತದಾ ಯಜ್ಞಸ್ಯ ದಿನಪರಿಪಾಯ್ಯಾ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಮನ್ದಿರೇ ಪ್ರವೇಶಕಾಲೇ ಧೂಪಜ್ವಾಲನಂ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮ ತಸ್ಯ ಕರಣೀಯಮಾಸೀತ್|
according to the custom of the priesthood, it fell to his lot to burn the incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10 ತದ್ಧೂಪಜ್ವಾಲನಕಾಲೇ ಲೋಕನಿವಹೇ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ ಬಹಿಸ್ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ
And all the multitude of people was praying without, at the time of the burning the incense.
11 ಸತಿ ಸಿಖರಿಯೋ ಯಸ್ಯಾಂ ವೇದ್ಯಾಂ ಧೂಪಂ ಜ್ವಾಲಯತಿ ತದ್ದಕ್ಷಿಣಪಾರ್ಶ್ವೇ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ದೂತ ಏಕ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತೋ ದರ್ಶನಂ ದದೌ|
And an angel of the Lord appeared to him standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 ತಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಸಿಖರಿಯ ಉದ್ವಿವಿಜೇ ಶಶಙ್ಕೇ ಚ|
And Zacharias was agitated greatly at the sight, and fear fell upon him.
13 ತದಾ ಸ ದೂತಸ್ತಂ ಬಭಾಷೇ ಹೇ ಸಿಖರಿಯ ಮಾ ಭೈಸ್ತವ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ ಗ್ರಾಹ್ಯಾ ಜಾತಾ ತವ ಭಾರ್ಯ್ಯಾ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾ ಪುತ್ರಂ ಪ್ರಸೋಷ್ಯತೇ ತಸ್ಯ ನಾಮ ಯೋಹನ್ ಇತಿ ಕರಿಷ್ಯಸಿ|
But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bring thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 ಕಿಞ್ಚ ತ್ವಂ ಸಾನನ್ದಃ ಸಹರ್ಷಶ್ಚ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಸಿ ತಸ್ಯ ಜನ್ಮನಿ ಬಹವ ಆನನ್ದಿಷ್ಯನ್ತಿ ಚ|
And it shall give thee joy and exultation; and many shall rejoice at his birth:
15 ಯತೋ ಹೇತೋಃ ಸ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಗೋಚರೇ ಮಹಾನ್ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ ತಥಾ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸಂ ಸುರಾಂ ವಾ ಕಿಮಪಿ ನ ಪಾಸ್ಯತಿ, ಅಪರಂ ಜನ್ಮಾರಭ್ಯ ಪವಿತ್ರೇಣಾತ್ಮನಾ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣಃ
for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord; and he shall never drink wine, nor any intoxicating liquor; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.
16 ಸನ್ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ವಂಶೀಯಾನ್ ಅನೇಕಾನ್ ಪ್ರಭೋಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಮಾರ್ಗಮಾನೇಷ್ಯತಿ|
And many of the children of Israel shall he turn unto the Lord, their God.
17 ಸನ್ತಾನಾನ್ ಪ್ರತಿ ಪಿತೃಣಾಂ ಮನಾಂಸಿ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಜ್ಞಾನಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯನಾಜ್ಞಾಗ್ರಾಹಿಣಶ್ಚ ಪರಾವರ್ತ್ತಯಿತುಂ, ಪ್ರಭೋಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಸೇವಾರ್ಥಮ್ ಏಕಾಂ ಸಜ್ಜಿತಜಾತಿಂ ವಿಧಾತುಞ್ಚ ಸ ಏಲಿಯರೂಪಾತ್ಮಶಕ್ತಿಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಸ್ತಸ್ಯಾಗ್ರೇ ಗಮಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
And he shall go forth before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to convert the hearts of fathers with their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people ready for the Lord.
18 ತದಾ ಸಿಖರಿಯೋ ದೂತಮವಾದೀತ್ ಕಥಮೇತದ್ ವೇತ್ಸ್ಯಾಮಿ? ಯತೋಹಂ ವೃದ್ಧೋ ಮಮ ಭಾರ್ಯ್ಯಾ ಚ ವೃದ್ಧಾ|
And Zacharias said to the angel, By what shall I know this? for I am old, and my wife far advanced in her age.
19 ತತೋ ದೂತಃ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ ಪಶ್ಯೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾದ್ವರ್ತ್ತೀ ಜಿಬ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ನಾಮಾ ದೂತೋಹಂ ತ್ವಯಾ ಸಹ ಕಥಾಂ ಗದಿತುಂ ತುಭ್ಯಮಿಮಾಂ ಶುಭವಾರ್ತ್ತಾಂ ದಾತುಞ್ಚ ಪ್ರೇಷಿತಃ|
And the angel answering said to him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and I have been sent to speak to thee, and to proclaim these glad tidings to thee.
20 ಕಿನ್ತು ಮದೀಯಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಕಾಲೇ ಫಲಿಷ್ಯತಿ ತತ್ ತ್ವಯಾ ನ ಪ್ರತೀತಮ್ ಅತಃ ಕಾರಣಾದ್ ಯಾವದೇವ ತಾನಿ ನ ಸೇತ್ಸ್ಯನ್ತಿ ತಾವತ್ ತ್ವಂ ವಕ್ತುಂಮಶಕ್ತೋ ಮೂಕೋ ಭವ|
And behold, thou shalt be dumb, and unable to speak, until that day when these things shall come to pass, because thou hast not believed my words, which shall be fulfilled at their exact time.
21 ತದಾನೀಂ ಯೇ ಯೇ ಲೋಕಾಃ ಸಿಖರಿಯಮಪೈಕ್ಷನ್ತ ತೇ ಮಧ್ಯೇಮನ್ದಿರಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಬಹುವಿಲಮ್ಬಾದ್ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಮೇನಿರೇ|
And the people were waiting for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
22 ಸ ಬಹಿರಾಗತೋ ಯದಾ ಕಿಮಪಿ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ವಕ್ತುಮಶಕ್ತಃ ಸಙ್ಕೇತಂ ಕೃತ್ವಾ ನಿಃಶಬ್ದಸ್ತಸ್ಯೌ ತದಾ ಮಧ್ಯೇಮನ್ದಿರಂ ಕಸ್ಯಚಿದ್ ದರ್ಶನಂ ತೇನ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಮ್ ಇತಿ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಬುಬುಧಿರೇ|
And when he came out, he could not speak to them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he himself made signs to them, and continued deaf and dumb.
23 ಅನನ್ತರಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಸೇವನಪರ್ಯ್ಯಾಯೇ ಸಮ್ಪೂರ್ಣೇ ಸತಿ ಸ ನಿಜಗೇಹಂ ಜಗಾಮ|
And it came to pass, when the days of his ministry were fulfilled, he went to his own house.
24 ಕತಿಪಯದಿನೇಷು ಗತೇಷು ತಸ್ಯ ಭಾರ್ಯ್ಯಾ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭವತೀ ಬಭೂವ
And after those days Elisabeth his wife conceived, and kept herself in retirement five months, saying,
25 ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ ಸಾ ಪಞ್ಚಮಾಸಾನ್ ಸಂಗೋಪ್ಯಾಕಥಯತ್ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಸಮಕ್ಷಂ ಮಮಾಪಮಾನಂ ಖಣ್ಡಯಿತುಂ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರೋ ಮಯಿ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಂ ಪಾತಯಿತ್ವಾ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮೇದೃಶಂ ಕೃತವಾನ್|
Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days in which he looked upon me to take away my reproach among men.
26 ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ತಸ್ಯಾ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭಸ್ಯ ಷಷ್ಠೇ ಮಾಸೇ ಜಾತೇ ಗಾಲೀಲ್ಪ್ರದೇಶೀಯನಾಸರತ್ಪುರೇ
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, the name of which was Nazareth,
27 ದಾಯೂದೋ ವಂಶೀಯಾಯ ಯೂಷಫ್ನಾಮ್ನೇ ಪುರುಷಾಯ ಯಾ ಮರಿಯಮ್ನಾಮಕುಮಾರೀ ವಾಗ್ದತ್ತಾಸೀತ್ ತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಸಮೀಪಂ ಜಿಬ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೂತ ಈಶ್ವರೇಣ ಪ್ರಹಿತಃ|
to a virgin of the house of David, betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 ಸ ಗತ್ವಾ ಜಗಾದ ಹೇ ಈಶ್ವರಾನುಗೃಹೀತಕನ್ಯೇ ತವ ಶುಭಂ ಭೂಯಾತ್ ಪ್ರಭುಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ತವ ಸಹಾಯೋಸ್ತಿ ನಾರೀಣಾಂ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ತ್ವಮೇವ ಧನ್ಯಾ|
And the angel coming in to her said, All hail! O thou highly favoured one! the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 ತದಾನೀಂ ಸಾ ತಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ತಸ್ಯ ವಾಕ್ಯತ ಉದ್ವಿಜ್ಯ ಕೀದೃಶಂ ಭಾಷಣಮಿದಮ್ ಇತಿ ಮನಸಾ ಚಿನ್ತಯಾಮಾಸ|
And when she saw him, she was greatly agitated at his address: and reasoned in herself what kind of salutation this could be.
30 ತತೋ ದೂತೋಽವದತ್ ಹೇ ಮರಿಯಮ್ ಭಯಂ ಮಾಕಾರ್ಷೀಃ, ತ್ವಯಿ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯಾನುಗ್ರಹೋಸ್ತಿ|
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favour with God.
31 ಪಶ್ಯ ತ್ವಂ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭಂ ಧೃತ್ವಾ ಪುತ್ರಂ ಪ್ರಸೋಷ್ಯಸೇ ತಸ್ಯ ನಾಮ ಯೀಶುರಿತಿ ಕರಿಷ್ಯಸಿ|
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS.
32 ಸ ಮಹಾನ್ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ ತಥಾ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಭ್ಯಃ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಸ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರ ಇತಿ ಖ್ಯಾಸ್ಯತಿ; ಅಪರಂ ಪ್ರಭುಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಪಿತುರ್ದಾಯೂದಃ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಂ ತಸ್ಮೈ ದಾಸ್ಯತಿ;
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father;
and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn g165)
34 ತದಾ ಮರಿಯಮ್ ತಂ ದೂತಂ ಬಭಾಷೇ ನಾಹಂ ಪುರುಷಸಙ್ಗಂ ಕರೋಮಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ಕಥಮೇತತ್ ಸಮ್ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ?
And Mary said, How shall this be, seeing I know not man?
35 ತತೋ ದೂತೋಽಕಥಯತ್ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಆತ್ಮಾ ತ್ವಾಮಾಶ್ರಾಯಿಷ್ಯತಿ ತಥಾ ಸರ್ವ್ವಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಸ್ಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಸ್ತವೋಪರಿ ಛಾಯಾಂ ಕರಿಷ್ಯತಿ ತತೋ ಹೇತೋಸ್ತವ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭಾದ್ ಯಃ ಪವಿತ್ರಬಾಲಕೋ ಜನಿಷ್ಯತೇ ಸ ಈಶ್ವರಪುತ್ರ ಇತಿ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಸ್ಯತಿ|
And the angel answering said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee; wherefore also the Holy One that shall be born of thee, shall be called the Son of God.
36 ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಪಶ್ಯ ತವ ಜ್ಞಾತಿರಿಲೀಶೇವಾ ಯಾಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಬನ್ಧ್ಯಾಮವದನ್ ಇದಾನೀಂ ಸಾ ವಾರ್ದ್ಧಕ್ಯೇ ಸನ್ತಾನಮೇಕಂ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭೇಽಧಾರಯತ್ ತಸ್ಯ ಷಷ್ಠಮಾಸೋಭೂತ್|
And, behold, Elisabeth thy cousin, she also hath conceived in her old age: and this is the fifth month of pregnancy with her who was called barren.
37 ಕಿಮಪಿ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮ ನಾಸಾಧ್ಯಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ|
For there is nothing impossible with God.
38 ತದಾ ಮರಿಯಮ್ ಜಗಾದ, ಪಶ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭೇರಹಂ ದಾಸೀ ಮಹ್ಯಂ ತವ ವಾಕ್ಯಾನುಸಾರೇಣ ಸರ್ವ್ವಮೇತದ್ ಘಟತಾಮ್; ಅನನತರಂ ದೂತಸ್ತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಸಮೀಪಾತ್ ಪ್ರತಸ್ಥೇ|
Then said Mary, Behold a servant of the Lord, be it to me according to thy declaration. And the angel departed from her.
39 ಅಥ ಕತಿಪಯದಿನಾತ್ ಪರಂ ಮರಿಯಮ್ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಪರ್ವ್ವತಮಯಪ್ರದೇಶೀಯಯಿಹೂದಾಯಾ ನಗರಮೇಕಂ ಶೀಘ್ರಂ ಗತ್ವಾ
Then Mary arose in those days, and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah,
40 ಸಿಖರಿಯಯಾಜಕಸ್ಯ ಗೃಹಂ ಪ್ರವಿಶ್ಯ ತಸ್ಯ ಜಾಯಾಮ್ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾಂ ಸಮ್ಬೋಧ್ಯಾವದತ್|
and entered into the house of Zachariah, and saluted Elisabeth.
41 ತತೋ ಮರಿಯಮಃ ಸಮ್ಬೋಧನವಾಕ್ಯೇ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾಯಾಃ ಕರ್ಣಯೋಃ ಪ್ರವಿಷ್ಟಮಾತ್ರೇ ಸತಿ ತಸ್ಯಾ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭಸ್ಥಬಾಲಕೋ ನನರ್ತ್ತ| ತತ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾ ಪವಿತ್ರೇಣಾತ್ಮನಾ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣಾ ಸತೀ
And it came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped for joy in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
42 ಪ್ರೋಚ್ಚೈರ್ಗದಿತುಮಾರೇಭೇ, ಯೋಷಿತಾಂ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ತ್ವಮೇವ ಧನ್ಯಾ, ತವ ಗರ್ಬ್ಭಸ್ಥಃ ಶಿಶುಶ್ಚ ಧನ್ಯಃ|
and she exclaimed with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 ತ್ವಂ ಪ್ರಭೋರ್ಮಾತಾ, ಮಮ ನಿವೇಶನೇ ತ್ವಯಾ ಚರಣಾವರ್ಪಿತೌ, ಮಮಾದ್ಯ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯಮೇತತ್|
And whence is this favour shewn me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 ಪಶ್ಯ ತವ ವಾಕ್ಯೇ ಮಮ ಕರ್ಣಯೋಃ ಪ್ರವಿಷ್ಟಮಾತ್ರೇ ಸತಿ ಮಮೋದರಸ್ಥಃ ಶಿಶುರಾನನ್ದಾನ್ ನನರ್ತ್ತ|
For, lo! as the voice of thy salutation reached my ears, the babe leaped for joy in my womb.
45 ಯಾ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ವ್ಯಶ್ವಸೀತ್ ಸಾ ಧನ್ಯಾ, ಯತೋ ಹೇತೋಸ್ತಾಂ ಪ್ರತಿ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರೋಕ್ತಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವಂ ಸಿದ್ಧಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
And blessed is she that hath believed; for there shall be a fulfilment of the things told her from the Lord.
46 ತದಾನೀಂ ಮರಿಯಮ್ ಜಗಾದ| ಧನ್ಯವಾದಂ ಪರೇಶಸ್ಯ ಕರೋತಿ ಮಾಮಕಂ ಮನಃ|
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 ಮಮಾತ್ಮಾ ತಾರಕೇಶೇ ಚ ಸಮುಲ್ಲಾಸಂ ಪ್ರಗಚ್ಛತಿ|
and my spirit hath exulted in God my Saviour:
48 ಅಕರೋತ್ ಸ ಪ್ರಭು ರ್ದುಷ್ಟಿಂ ಸ್ವದಾಸ್ಯಾ ದುರ್ಗತಿಂ ಪ್ರತಿ| ಪಶ್ಯಾದ್ಯಾರಭ್ಯ ಮಾಂ ಧನ್ಯಾಂ ವಕ್ಷ್ಯನ್ತಿ ಪುರುಷಾಃ ಸದಾ|
for he hath looked upon the lowly state of his maid-servant: for, lo! henceforth shall all generations pronounce me blessed.
49 ಯಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವಶಕ್ತಿಮಾನ್ ಯಸ್ಯ ನಾಮಾಪಿ ಚ ಪವಿತ್ರಕಂ| ಸ ಏವ ಸುಮಹತ್ಕರ್ಮ್ಮ ಕೃತವಾನ್ ಮನ್ನಿಮಿತ್ತಕಂ|
For the Mighty One hath done great things for me; and holy is his name.
50 ಯೇ ಬಿಭ್ಯತಿ ಜನಾಸ್ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ತೇಷಾಂ ಸನ್ತಾನಪಂಕ್ತಿಷು| ಅನುಕಮ್ಪಾ ತದೀಯಾ ಚ ಸರ್ವ್ವದೈವ ಸುತಿಷ್ಠತಿ|
And his mercy is upon those who fear him, from generation to generation.
51 ಸ್ವಬಾಹುಬಲತಸ್ತೇನ ಪ್ರಾಕಾಶ್ಯತ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ| ಮನಃಕುಮನ್ತ್ರಣಾಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ವಿಕೀರ್ಯ್ಯನ್ತೇಽಭಿಮಾನಿನಃ|
He hath displayed strength from his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಗತಾಲ್ಲೋಕಾನ್ ಬಲಿನಶ್ಚಾವರೋಹ್ಯ ಸಃ| ಪದೇಷೂಚ್ಚೇಷು ಲೋಕಾಂಸ್ತು ಕ್ಷುದ್ರಾನ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಯತ್ಯಪಿ|
He hath cast down potentates from the throne, and hath exalted the lowly.
53 ಕ್ಷುಧಿತಾನ್ ಮಾನವಾನ್ ದ್ರವ್ಯೈರುತ್ತಮೈಃ ಪರಿತರ್ಪ್ಯ ಸಃ| ಸಕಲಾನ್ ಧನಿನೋ ಲೋಕಾನ್ ವಿಸೃಜೇದ್ ರಿಕ್ತಹಸ್ತಕಾನ್|
He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
54 ಇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮಿ ಚ ತದ್ವಂಶೇ ಯಾ ದಯಾಸ್ತಿ ಸದೈವ ತಾಂ| ಸ್ಮೃತ್ವಾ ಪುರಾ ಪಿತೃಣಾಂ ನೋ ಯಥಾ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಪ್ರತಿಶ್ರುತಂ| (aiōn g165)
He hath succoured Israel his servant, that he might be mindful of mercy for ever; (aiōn g165)
55 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಸೇವಕಸ್ತೇನ ತಥೋಪಕ್ರಿಯತೇ ಸ್ವಯಂ||
as he had spoken to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed.
56 ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಮರಿಯಮ್ ಪ್ರಾಯೇಣ ಮಾಸತ್ರಯಮ್ ಇಲೀಶೇವಯಾ ಸಹೋಷಿತ್ವಾ ವ್ಯಾಘುಯ್ಯ ನಿಜನಿವೇಶನಂ ಯಯೌ|
And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned unto her home.
57 ತದನನ್ತರಮ್ ಇಲೀಶೇವಾಯಾಃ ಪ್ರಸವಕಾಲ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತೇ ಸತಿ ಸಾ ಪುತ್ರಂ ಪ್ರಾಸೋಷ್ಟ|
Now Elisabeth’s time was up that she should be delivered; and she brought a son.
58 ತತಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ತಸ್ಯಾಂ ಮಹಾನುಗ್ರಹಂ ಕೃತವಾನ್ ಏತತ್ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಸಮೀಪವಾಸಿನಃ ಕುಟುಮ್ಬಾಶ್ಚಾಗತ್ಯ ತಯಾ ಸಹ ಮುಮುದಿರೇ|
And her neighbours and her relations heard, that the Lord had magnified his mercy upon her; and they congratulated her.
59 ತಥಾಷ್ಟಮೇ ದಿನೇ ತೇ ಬಾಲಕಸ್ಯ ತ್ವಚಂ ಛೇತ್ತುಮ್ ಏತ್ಯ ತಸ್ಯ ಪಿತೃನಾಮಾನುರೂಪಂ ತನ್ನಾಮ ಸಿಖರಿಯ ಇತಿ ಕರ್ತ್ತುಮೀಷುಃ|
And it came to pass, on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him after the name of his father, Zacharias.
60 ಕಿನ್ತು ತಸ್ಯ ಮಾತಾಕಥಯತ್ ತನ್ನ, ನಾಮಾಸ್ಯ ಯೋಹನ್ ಇತಿ ಕರ್ತ್ತವ್ಯಮ್|
And his mother spake and said, No; but he shall be called John.
61 ತದಾ ತೇ ವ್ಯಾಹರನ್ ತವ ವಂಶಮಧ್ಯೇ ನಾಮೇದೃಶಂ ಕಸ್ಯಾಪಿ ನಾಸ್ತಿ|
And they said to her, There is not one among thy relations, who is called by this name.
62 ತತಃ ಪರಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಪಿತರಂ ಸಿಖರಿಯಂ ಪ್ರತಿ ಸಙ್ಕೇತ್ಯ ಪಪ್ರಚ್ಛುಃ ಶಿಶೋಃ ಕಿಂ ನಾಮ ಕಾರಿಷ್ಯತೇ?
And they made signs to his father, what he would have him called.
63 ತತಃ ಸ ಫಲಕಮೇಕಂ ಯಾಚಿತ್ವಾ ಲಿಲೇಖ ತಸ್ಯ ನಾಮ ಯೋಹನ್ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ| ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಮೇನಿರೇ|
And desiring a writing tablet, he wrote, saying, John is his name. And they were all surprised.
64 ತತ್ಕ್ಷಣಂ ಸಿಖರಿಯಸ್ಯ ಜಿಹ್ವಾಜಾಡ್ಯೇಽಪಗತೇ ಸ ಮುಖಂ ವ್ಯಾದಾಯ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವರ್ಣಮುಚ್ಚಾರ್ಯ್ಯ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಗುಣಾನುವಾದಂ ಚಕಾರ|
Instantly then his mouth was opened, and his tongue loosed, and he burst out in praises to God.
65 ತಸ್ಮಾಚ್ಚತುರ್ದಿಕ್ಸ್ಥಾಃ ಸಮೀಪವಾಸಿಲೋಕಾ ಭೀತಾ ಏವಮೇತಾಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾಃ ಕಥಾ ಯಿಹೂದಾಯಾಃ ಪರ್ವ್ವತಮಯಪ್ರದೇಶಸ್ಯ ಸರ್ವ್ವತ್ರ ಪ್ರಚಾರಿತಾಃ|
And great awe fell on all those who dwelt around them: and in all the mountainous country of Judea, all these circumstances were the subject of conversation.
66 ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಶ್ರೋತಾರೋ ಮನಃಸು ಸ್ಥಾಪಯಿತ್ವಾ ಕಥಯಾಮ್ಬಭೂವುಃ ಕೀದೃಶೋಯಂ ಬಾಲೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ? ಅಥ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಸಹಾಯೋಭೂತ್|
And all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, Well! what a child will this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
67 ತದಾ ಯೋಹನಃ ಪಿತಾ ಸಿಖರಿಯಃ ಪವಿತ್ರೇಣಾತ್ಮನಾ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣಃ ಸನ್ ಏತಾದೃಶಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸ|
And Zacharias his father was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
68 ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಃ ಪ್ರಭು ರ್ಯಸ್ತು ಸ ಧನ್ಯಃ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಃ| ಅನುಗೃಹ್ಯ ನಿಜಾಲ್ಲೋಕಾನ್ ಸ ಏವ ಪರಿಮೋಚಯೇತ್|
Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel; for he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people;
69 ವಿಪಕ್ಷಜನಹಸ್ತೇಭ್ಯೋ ಯಥಾ ಮೋಚ್ಯಾಮಹೇ ವಯಂ| ಯಾವಜ್ಜೀವಞ್ಚ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮೇಣ ಸಾರಲ್ಯೇನ ಚ ನಿರ್ಭಯಾಃ|
and hath raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David:
70 ಸೇವಾಮಹೈ ತಮೇವೈಕಮ್ ಏತತ್ಕಾರಣಮೇವ ಚ| ಸ್ವಕೀಯಂ ಸುಪವಿತ್ರಞ್ಚ ಸಂಸ್ಮೃತ್ಯ ನಿಯಮಂ ಸದಾ|
as he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been from the beginning: (aiōn g165)
71 ಕೃಪಯಾ ಪುರುಷಾನ್ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವಾನ್ ನಿಕಷಾರ್ಥಾತ್ತು ನಃ ಪಿತುಃ| ಇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮಃ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಯಂ ಶಪಥಂ ಕೃತವಾನ್ ಪುರಾ|
even preservation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 ತಮೇವ ಸಫಲಂ ಕರ್ತ್ತಂ ತಥಾ ಶತ್ರುಗಣಸ್ಯ ಚ| ಋತೀಯಾಕಾರಿಣಶ್ಚೈವ ಕರೇಭ್ಯೋ ರಕ್ಷಣಾಯ ನಃ|
to perform mercy towards our fathers, and to remember his own holy covenant:
the oath which he sware to Abraham our father,
74 ಯಥೋಕ್ತವಾನ್ ತಥಾ ಸ್ವಸ್ಯ ದಾಯೂದಃ ಸೇವಕಸ್ಯ ತು|
to give us, that we, secure from fear, rescued from the hands of our enemies, should serve him,
75 ವಂಶೇ ತ್ರಾತಾರಮೇಕಂ ಸ ಸಮುತ್ಪಾದಿತವಾನ್ ಸ್ವಯಮ್|
in righteousness and holiness before him, all the days of our life.
76 ಅತೋ ಹೇ ಬಾಲಕ ತ್ವನ್ತು ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಭ್ಯಃ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಏವ ಯಃ| ತಸ್ಯೈವ ಭಾವಿವಾದೀತಿ ಪ್ರವಿಖ್ಯಾತೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಸಿ| ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಚರಣಾನ್ ಕ್ಷೇಮೇ ಮಾರ್ಗೇ ಚಾಲಯಿತುಂ ಸದಾ| ಏವಂ ಧ್ವಾನ್ತೇಽರ್ಥತೋ ಮೃತ್ಯೋಶ್ಛಾಯಾಯಾಂ ಯೇ ತು ಮಾನವಾಃ|
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Most High; for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77 ಉಪವಿಷ್ಟಾಸ್ತು ತಾನೇವ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಯಿತುಮೇವ ಹಿ| ಕೃತ್ವಾ ಮಹಾನುಕಮ್ಪಾಂ ಹಿ ಯಾಮೇವ ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರಃ|
to give the knowledge of salvation to his people, by the remission of their sins,
78 ಊರ್ದ್ವ್ವಾತ್ ಸೂರ್ಯ್ಯಮುದಾಯ್ಯೈವಾಸ್ಮಭ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಾದಾತ್ತು ದರ್ಶನಂ| ತಯಾನುಕಮ್ಪಯಾ ಸ್ವಸ್ಯ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಪಾಪಮೋಚನೇ|
through the bowels of mercy of our God; with which he hath visited us, as the dawn of the morning from on high,
79 ಪರಿತ್ರಾಣಸ್ಯ ತೇಭ್ಯೋ ಹಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವಿಶ್ರಾಣನಾಯ ಚ| ಪ್ರಭೋ ರ್ಮಾರ್ಗಂ ಪರಿಷ್ಕರ್ತ್ತುಂ ತಸ್ಯಾಗ್ರಾಯೀ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಸಿ||
to illumine those who sat in darkness, and in the shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace.
80 ಅಥ ಬಾಲಕಃ ಶರೀರೇಣ ಬುದ್ಧ್ಯಾ ಚ ವರ್ದ್ಧಿತುಮಾರೇಭೇ; ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಸ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೋ ವಂಶೀಯಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಯಾವನ್ನ ಪ್ರಕಟೀಭೂತಸ್ತಾಸ್ತಾವತ್ ಪ್ರಾನ್ತರೇ ನ್ಯವಸತ್|
And the child grew, and became mighty in spirit, and was in the deserts until the days of his public exhibition to Israel.
