< ಇಬ್ರಿಣಃ 11 >

1 ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಆಶಂಸಿತಾನಾಂ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಃ, ಅದೃಶ್ಯಾನಾಂ ವಿಷಯಾಣಾಂ ದರ್ಶನಂ ಭವತಿ|
Now, faith is a sure confidence with respect to things hoped for, a firm persuasion with respect to things not seen:
2 ತೇನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಪ್ರಾಞ್ಚೋ ಲೋಕಾಃ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವನ್ತಃ|
for by this the ancients obtained a good reputation.
3 ಅಪರಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ವಾಕ್ಯೇನ ಜಗನ್ತ್ಯಸೃಜ್ಯನ್ತ, ದೃಷ್ಟವಸ್ತೂನಿ ಚ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಸ್ತುಭ್ಯೋ ನೋದಪದ್ಯನ್ತೈತದ್ ವಯಂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಬುಧ್ಯಾಮಹೇ| (aiōn g165)
By faith we understand that the ages were set in order by the word of God, so that the things which are seen, have not come into being from things that appear. (aiōn g165)
4 ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಹಾಬಿಲ್ ಈಶ್ವರಮುದ್ದಿಶ್ಯ ಕಾಬಿಲಃ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಂ ಬಲಿದಾನಂ ಕೃತವಾನ್ ತಸ್ಮಾಚ್ಚೇಶ್ವರೇಣ ತಸ್ಯ ದಾನಾನ್ಯಧಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣೇ ದತ್ತೇ ಸ ಧಾರ್ಮ್ಮಿಕ ಇತ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ಲಬ್ಧವಾನ್ ತೇನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಚ ಸ ಮೃತಃ ಸನ್ ಅದ್ಯಾಪಿ ಭಾಷತೇ|
By faith Abel offered to God more sacrifice than Cain; on account of which he received testimony that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and by it he, though dead, yet speaks.
5 ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಹನೋಕ್ ಯಥಾ ಮೃತ್ಯುಂ ನ ಪಶ್ಯೇತ್ ತಥಾ ಲೋಕಾನ್ತರಂ ನೀತಃ, ತಸ್ಯೋದ್ದೇಶಶ್ಚ ಕೇನಾಪಿ ನ ಪ್ರಾಪಿ ಯತ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ತಂ ಲೋಕಾನ್ತರಂ ನೀತವಾನ್, ತತ್ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಿದಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಲೋಕಾನ್ತರೀಕರಣಾತ್ ಪೂರ್ವ್ವಂ ಸ ಈಶ್ವರಾಯ ರೋಚಿತವಾನ್ ಇತಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವಾನ್|
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death, and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had the testimony that he pleased God.
6 ಕಿನ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಂ ವಿನಾ ಕೋಽಪೀಶ್ವರಾಯ ರೋಚಿತುಂ ನ ಶಕ್ನೋತಿ ಯತ ಈಶ್ವರೋಽಸ್ತಿ ಸ್ವಾನ್ವೇಷಿಲೋಕೇಭ್ಯಃ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರಂ ದದಾತಿ ಚೇತಿಕಥಾಯಾಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಶರಣಾಗತೈ ರ್ವಿಶ್ವಸಿತವ್ಯಂ|
But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
7 ಅಪರಂ ತದಾನೀಂ ಯಾನ್ಯದೃಶ್ಯಾನ್ಯಾಸನ್ ತಾನೀಶ್ವರೇಣಾದಿಷ್ಟಃ ಸನ್ ನೋಹೋ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಭೀತ್ವಾ ಸ್ವಪರಿಜನಾನಾಂ ರಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥಂ ಪೋತಂ ನಿರ್ಮ್ಮಿತವಾನ್ ತೇನ ಚ ಜಗಜ್ಜನಾನಾಂ ದೋಷಾನ್ ದರ್ಶಿತವಾನ್ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಲಭ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಪುಣ್ಯಸ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರೀ ಬಭೂವ ಚ|
By faith Noah, after being warned concerning things not yet seen, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the salvation of his house; by which faith he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನೇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮ್ ಆಹೂತಃ ಸನ್ ಆಜ್ಞಾಂ ಗೃಹೀತ್ವಾ ಯಸ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಾನಸ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಸ್ತೇನ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವ್ಯಸ್ತತ್ ಸ್ಥಾನಂ ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಿತವಾನ್ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪ್ರಸ್ಥಾನಸಮಯೇ ಕ್ಕ ಯಾಮೀತಿ ನಾಜಾನಾತ್|
By faith Abraham, when called to go out into a place that he should afterward receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಸ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾತೇ ದೇಶೇ ಪರದೇಶವತ್ ಪ್ರವಸನ್ ತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಯಾಃ ಸಮಾನಾಂಶಿಭ್ಯಾಮ್ ಇಸ್ಹಾಕಾ ಯಾಕೂಬಾ ಚ ಸಹ ದೂಷ್ಯವಾಸ್ಯಭವತ್|
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 ಯಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ ಈಶ್ವರೇಣ ನಿರ್ಮ್ಮಿತಂ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತಞ್ಚ ಭಿತ್ತಿಮೂಲಯುಕ್ತಂ ನಗರಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೈಕ್ಷತ|
for he looked for a city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
11 ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಸಾರಾ ವಯೋತಿಕ್ರಾನ್ತಾ ಸನ್ತ್ಯಪಿ ಗರ್ಭಧಾರಣಾಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರವತ್ಯಭವತ್, ಯತಃ ಸಾ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಕಾರಿಣಂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ್ಯಮ್ ಅಮನ್ಯತ|
By faith also Sarah herself received strength for the conception of seed, and brought forth a child when past the time of life, because she counted him faithful who had promised.
12 ತತೋ ಹೇತೋ ರ್ಮೃತಕಲ್ಪಾದ್ ಏಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಜನಾದ್ ಆಕಾಶೀಯನಕ್ಷತ್ರಾಣೀವ ಗಣನಾತೀತಾಃ ಸಮುದ್ರತೀರಸ್ಥಸಿಕತಾ ಇವ ಚಾಸಂಖ್ಯಾ ಲೋಕಾ ಉತ್ಪೇದಿರೇ|
Therefore, there were born of one, who was dead as it respects these things, a posterity like the stars of heaven in multitude, and like the sand on the sea-shore, innumerable.
13 ಏತೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಯಾಃ ಫಲಾನ್ಯಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಕೇವಲಂ ದೂರಾತ್ ತಾನಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವನ್ದಿತ್ವಾ ಚ, ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಂ ವಯಂ ವಿದೇಶಿನಃ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿನಶ್ಚಾಸ್ಮಹ ಇತಿ ಸ್ವೀಕೃತ್ಯ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಪ್ರಾಣಾನ್ ತತ್ಯಜುಃ|
All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and having embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and sojourners in the land.
14 ಯೇ ತು ಜನಾ ಇತ್ಥಂ ಕಥಯನ್ತಿ ತೈಃ ಪೈತೃಕದೇಶೋ ಽಸ್ಮಾಭಿರನ್ವಿಷ್ಯತ ಇತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ಯತೇ|
For those who say such things, declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 ತೇ ಯಸ್ಮಾದ್ ದೇಶಾತ್ ನಿರ್ಗತಾಸ್ತಂ ಯದ್ಯಸ್ಮರಿಷ್ಯನ್ ತರ್ಹಿ ಪರಾವರ್ತ್ತನಾಯ ಸಮಯಮ್ ಅಲಪ್ಸ್ಯನ್ತ|
And if indeed they had been mindful of that from which they came, they could have had an opportunity to return.
16 ಕಿನ್ತು ತೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವೋತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟಮ್ ಅರ್ಥತಃ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಯಂ ದೇಶಮ್ ಆಕಾಙ್ಕ್ಷನ್ತಿ ತಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ತಾನಧಿ ನ ಲಜ್ಜಮಾನಸ್ತೇಷಾಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರ ಇತಿ ನಾಮ ಗೃಹೀತವಾನ್ ಯತಃ ಸ ತೇಷಾಂ ಕೃತೇ ನಗರಮೇಕಂ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಿತವಾನ್|
But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country; wherefore God is not ashamed of them, that he should be called their God: for he has prepared for them a city.
17 ಅಪರಮ್ ಇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮಃ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಾಯಾಂ ಜಾತಾಯಾಂ ಸ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನೇಸ್ಹಾಕಮ್ ಉತ್ಸಸರ್ಜ,
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: even his first-born, did he that had received the promises, offer up,
18 ವಸ್ತುತ ಇಸ್ಹಾಕಿ ತವ ವಂಶೋ ವಿಖ್ಯಾಸ್ಯತ ಇತಿ ವಾಗ್ ಯಮಧಿ ಕಥಿತಾ ತಮ್ ಅದ್ವಿತೀಯಂ ಪುತ್ರಂ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಃ ಸ ಉತ್ಸಸರ್ಜ|
of which first-born it was said: In Isaac shall your posterity be called:
19 ಯತ ಈಶ್ವರೋ ಮೃತಾನಪ್ಯುತ್ಥಾಪಯಿತುಂ ಶಕ್ನೋತೀತಿ ಸ ಮೇನೇ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ ಉಪಮಾರೂಪಂ ತಂ ಲೇಭೇ|
for he concluded that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; wherefore he received him even in like manner.
20 ಅಪರಮ್ ಇಸ್ಹಾಕ್ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಯಾಕೂಬ್ ಏಷಾವೇ ಚ ಭಾವಿವಿಷಯಾನಧ್ಯಾಶಿಷಂ ದದೌ|
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 ಅಪರಂ ಯಾಕೂಬ್ ಮರಣಕಾಲೇ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ಯೂಷಫಃ ಪುತ್ರಯೋರೇಕೈಕಸ್ಮೈ ಜನಾಯಾಶಿಷಂ ದದೌ ಯಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ಅಗ್ರಭಾಗೇ ಸಮಾಲಮ್ಬ್ಯ ಪ್ರಣನಾಮ ಚ|
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped on the top of his staff.
22 ಅಪರಂ ಯೂಷಫ್ ಚರಮಕಾಲೇ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನೇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ವಂಶೀಯಾನಾಂ ಮಿಸರದೇಶಾದ್ ಬಹಿರ್ಗಮನಸ್ಯ ವಾಚಂ ಜಗಾದ ನಿಜಾಸ್ಥೀನಿ ಚಾಧಿ ಸಮಾದಿದೇಶ|
By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the sons of Israel, and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 ನವಜಾತೋ ಮೂಸಾಶ್ಚ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ತ್ರಾನ್ ಮಾಸಾನ್ ಸ್ವಪಿತೃಭ್ಯಾಮ್ ಅಗೋಪ್ಯತ ಯತಸ್ತೌ ಸ್ವಶಿಶುಂ ಪರಮಸುನ್ದರಂ ದೃಷ್ಟವನ್ತೌ ರಾಜಾಜ್ಞಾಞ್ಚ ನ ಶಙ್ಕಿತವನ್ತೌ|
By faith Moses was concealed by his parents for three months after his birth, because they saw that he was a beautiful child: and they feared not the command of the king.
24 ಅಪರಂ ವಯಃಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೋ ಮೂಸಾ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಫಿರೌಣೋ ದೌಹಿತ್ರ ಇತಿ ನಾಮ ನಾಙ್ಗೀಚಕಾರ|
By faith Moses, when he became a man, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 ಯತಃ ಸ ಕ್ಷಣಿಕಾತ್ ಪಾಪಜಸುಖಭೋಗಾದ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಜಾಭಿಃ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ದುಃಖಭೋಗಂ ವವ್ರೇ|
choosing rather to suffer evil with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season;
26 ತಥಾ ಮಿಸರದೇಶೀಯನಿಧಿಭ್ಯಃ ಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟನಿಮಿತ್ತಾಂ ನಿನ್ದಾಂ ಮಹತೀಂ ಸಮ್ಪತ್ತಿಂ ಮೇನೇ ಯತೋ ಹೇತೋಃ ಸ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರದಾನಮ್ ಅಪೈಕ್ಷತ|
esteeming the reproach on account of the Christ as greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he earnestly looked to the reward.
27 ಅಪರಂ ಸ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ರಾಜ್ಞಃ ಕ್ರೋಧಾತ್ ನ ಭೀತ್ವಾ ಮಿಸರದೇಶಂ ಪರಿತತ್ಯಾಜ, ಯತಸ್ತೇನಾದೃಶ್ಯಂ ವೀಕ್ಷಮಾಣೇನೇವ ಧೈರ್ಯ್ಯಮ್ ಆಲಮ್ಬಿ|
By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king: for he patiently endured, as seeing him that is invisible.
28 ಅಪರಂ ಪ್ರಥಮಜಾತಾನಾಂ ಹನ್ತಾ ಯತ್ ಸ್ವೀಯಲೋಕಾನ್ ನ ಸ್ಪೃಶೇತ್ ತದರ್ಥಂ ಸ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸೇನ ನಿಸ್ತಾರಪರ್ವ್ವೀಯಬಲಿಚ್ಛೇದನಂ ರುಧಿರಸೇಚನಞ್ಚಾನುಷ್ಠಿತಾವಾನ್|
By faith he kept the passover, and the affusion of blood, that he who destroyed the first-born might not touch them.
29 ಅಪರಂ ತೇ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಸ್ಥಲೇನೇವ ಸೂಫ್ಸಾಗರೇಣ ಜಗ್ಮುಃ ಕಿನ್ತು ಮಿಸ್ರೀಯಲೋಕಾಸ್ತತ್ ಕರ್ತ್ತುಮ್ ಉಪಕ್ರಮ್ಯ ತೋಯೇಷು ಮಮಜ್ಜುಃ|
By faith they passed through the Bed Sea as by dry land, which the Egyptians attempting to do, were drowned.
30 ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ತೈಃ ಸಪ್ತಾಹಂ ಯಾವದ್ ಯಿರೀಹೋಃ ಪ್ರಾಚೀರಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರದಕ್ಷಿಣೇ ಕೃತೇ ತತ್ ನಿಪಪಾತ|
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after the people had gone around them for seven days.
31 ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾದ್ ರಾಹಬ್ನಾಮಿಕಾ ವೇಶ್ಯಾಪಿ ಪ್ರೀತ್ಯಾ ಚಾರಾನ್ ಅನುಗೃಹ್ಯಾವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಭಿಃ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ನ ವಿನನಾಶ|
By faith Rabab the harlot perished not with the disobedient, because she had received the spies with peace.
32 ಅಧಿಕಂ ಕಿಂ ಕಥಯಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ? ಗಿದಿಯೋನೋ ಬಾರಕಃ ಶಿಮ್ಶೋನೋ ಯಿಪ್ತಹೋ ದಾಯೂದ್ ಶಿಮೂಯೇಲೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಶ್ಚೈತೇಷಾಂ ವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಕಥನಾಯ ಮಮ ಸಮಯಾಭಾವೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
And what further shall I say? For the time would fail me, were I to tell of Gideon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthah, of David also and Samuel, and of the prophets,
33 ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ತೇ ರಾಜ್ಯಾನಿ ವಶೀಕೃತವನ್ತೋ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಕರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣಿ ಸಾಧಿತವನ್ತಃ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾನಾಂ ಫಲಂ ಲಬ್ಧವನ್ತಃ ಸಿಂಹಾನಾಂ ಮುಖಾನಿ ರುದ್ಧವನ್ತೋ
who, through faith, subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, closed the mouths of lions,
34 ವಹ್ನೇರ್ದಾಹಂ ನಿರ್ವ್ವಾಪಿತವನ್ತಃ ಖಙ್ಗಧಾರಾದ್ ರಕ್ಷಾಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವನ್ತೋ ದೌರ್ಬ್ಬಲ್ಯೇ ಸಬಲೀಕೃತಾ ಯುದ್ಧೇ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಣೋ ಜಾತಾಃ ಪರೇಷಾಂ ಸೈನ್ಯಾನಿ ದವಯಿತವನ್ತಶ್ಚ|
quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 ಯೋಷಿತಃ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನೇನ ಮೃತಾನ್ ಆತ್ಮಜಾನ್ ಲೇಭಿರೇ, ಅಪರೇ ಚ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠೋತ್ಥಾನಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೇರಾಶಯಾ ರಕ್ಷಾಮ್ ಅಗೃಹೀತ್ವಾ ತಾಡನೇನ ಮೃತವನ್ತಃ|
Women received their dead raised to life again: but others were beat to death, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection;
36 ಅಪರೇ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರೈಃ ಕಶಾಭಿ ರ್ಬನ್ಧನೈಃ ಕಾರಯಾ ಚ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿತಾಃ|
others had trial of mockings and scourgings, bonds also, and imprisonments.
37 ಬಹವಶ್ಚ ಪ್ರಸ್ತರಾಘಾತೈ ರ್ಹತಾಃ ಕರಪತ್ರೈ ರ್ವಾ ವಿದೀರ್ಣಾ ಯನ್ತ್ರೈ ರ್ವಾ ಕ್ಲಿಷ್ಟಾಃ ಖಙ್ಗಧಾರೈ ರ್ವಾ ವ್ಯಾಪಾದಿತಾಃ| ತೇ ಮೇಷಾಣಾಂ ಛಾಗಾನಾಂ ವಾ ಚರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣಿ ಪರಿಧಾಯ ದೀನಾಃ ಪೀಡಿತಾ ದುಃಖಾರ್ತ್ತಾಶ್ಚಾಭ್ರಾಮ್ಯನ್|
They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword: they went about in sheep-skins, in goat-skins, being destitute, afflicted, oppressed with evils,
38 ಸಂಸಾರೋ ಯೇಷಾಮ್ ಅಯೋಗ್ಯಸ್ತೇ ನಿರ್ಜನಸ್ಥಾನೇಷು ಪರ್ವ್ವತೇಷು ಗಹ್ವರೇಷು ಪೃಥಿವ್ಯಾಶ್ಛಿದ್ರೇಷು ಚ ಪರ್ಯ್ಯಟನ್|
(of whom the world was not worthy, ) wandering in deserts, and in mountains, and in caverns, and in dens of the earth.
39 ಏತೈಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವೈ ರ್ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಾತ್ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಂ ಪ್ರಾಪಿ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾಯಾಃ ಫಲಂ ನ ಪ್ರಾಪಿ|
And all these, having obtained a good reputation by faith, received not the promise,
40 ಯತಸ್ತೇ ಯಥಾಸ್ಮಾನ್ ವಿನಾ ಸಿದ್ಧಾ ನ ಭವೇಯುಸ್ತಥೈವೇಶ್ವರೇಣಾಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕೃತೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತರಂ ಕಿಮಪಿ ನಿರ್ದಿದಿಶೇ|
because God had provided some better thing for us, that they, without us, should not be made perfect.
