೧ ಯೋಹನಃ 1
1 ಆದಿತೋ ಯ ಆಸೀದ್ ಯಸ್ಯ ವಾಗ್ ಅಸ್ಮಾಭಿರಶ್ರಾವಿ ಯಞ್ಚ ವಯಂ ಸ್ವನೇತ್ರೈ ರ್ದೃಷ್ಟವನ್ತೋ ಯಞ್ಚ ವೀಕ್ಷಿತವನ್ತಃ ಸ್ವಕರೈಃ ಸ್ಪೃಷ್ಟವನ್ತಶ್ಚ ತಂ ಜೀವನವಾದಂ ವಯಂ ಜ್ಞಾಪಯಾಮಃ|
We declare to you what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life.
2 ಸ ಜೀವನಸ್ವರೂಪಃ ಪ್ರಕಾಶತ ವಯಞ್ಚ ತಂ ದೃಷ್ಟವನ್ತಸ್ತಮಧಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಂ ದದ್ಮಶ್ಚ, ಯಶ್ಚ ಪಿತುಃ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾವವರ್ತ್ತತಾಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಪ್ರಕಾಶತ ಚ ತಮ್ ಅನನ್ತಜೀವನಸ್ವರೂಪಂ ವಯಂ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಜ್ಞಾಪಯಾಮಃ| (aiōnios g166)
This life was revealed; we have seen it, and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and that was revealed to us. (aiōnios g166)
3 ಅಸ್ಮಾಭಿ ರ್ಯದ್ ದೃಷ್ಟಂ ಶ್ರುತಞ್ಚ ತದೇವ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಜ್ಞಾಪ್ಯತೇ ತೇನಾಸ್ಮಾಭಿಃ ಸಹಾಂಶಿತ್ವಂ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯತಿ| ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಞ್ಚ ಸಹಾಂಶಿತ್ವಂ ಪಿತ್ರಾ ತತ್ಪುತ್ರೇಣ ಯೀಶುಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟೇನ ಚ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ಭವತಿ|
What we have seen and heard we declare to you, so that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಮ್ ಆನನ್ದೋ ಯತ್ ಸಮ್ಪೂರ್ಣೋ ಭವೇದ್ ತದರ್ಥಂ ವಯಮ್ ಏತಾನಿ ಲಿಖಾಮಃ|
We are writing these things to you so that our joy may be full.
5 ವಯಂ ಯಾಂ ವಾರ್ತ್ತಾಂ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಜ್ಞಾಪಯಾಮಃ ಸೇಯಮ್| ಈಶ್ವರೋ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಸ್ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಅನ್ಧಕಾರಸ್ಯ ಲೇಶೋಽಪಿ ನಾಸ್ತಿ|
This is the message that we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all.
6 ವಯಂ ತೇನ ಸಹಾಂಶಿನ ಇತಿ ಗದಿತ್ವಾ ಯದ್ಯನ್ಧಾಕಾರೇ ಚರಾಮಸ್ತರ್ಹಿ ಸತ್ಯಾಚಾರಿಣೋ ನ ಸನ್ತೋ ಽನೃತವಾದಿನೋ ಭವಾಮಃ|
If we say that we have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.
7 ಕಿನ್ತು ಸ ಯಥಾ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಿ ವರ್ತ್ತತೇ ತಥಾ ವಯಮಪಿ ಯದಿ ಜ್ಯೋತಿಷಿ ಚರಾಮಸ್ತರ್ಹಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರಂ ಸಹಭಾಗಿನೋ ಭವಾಮಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರಸ್ಯ ಯೀಶುಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟಸ್ಯ ರುಧಿರಞ್ಚಾಸ್ಮಾನ್ ಸರ್ವ್ವಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಪಾಪಾತ್ ಶುದ್ಧಯತಿ|
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 ವಯಂ ನಿಷ್ಪಾಪಾ ಇತಿ ಯದಿ ವದಾಮಸ್ತರ್ಹಿ ಸ್ವಯಮೇವ ಸ್ವಾನ್ ವಞ್ಚಯಾಮಃ ಸತ್ಯಮತಞ್ಚಾಸ್ಮಾಕಮ್ ಅನ್ತರೇ ನ ವಿದ್ಯತೇ|
If we say that we do not have sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 ಯದಿ ಸ್ವಪಾಪಾನಿ ಸ್ವೀಕುರ್ಮ್ಮಹೇ ತರ್ಹಿ ಸ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ್ಯೋ ಯಾಥಾರ್ಥಿಕಶ್ಚಾಸ್ತಿ ತಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಪಾಪಾನಿ ಕ್ಷಮಿಷ್ಯತೇ ಸರ್ವ್ವಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಅಧರ್ಮ್ಮಾಚ್ಚಾಸ್ಮಾನ್ ಶುದ್ಧಯಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 ವಯಮ್ ಅಕೃತಪಾಪಾ ಇತಿ ಯದಿ ವದಾಮಸ್ತರ್ಹಿ ತಮ್ ಅನೃತವಾದಿನಂ ಕುರ್ಮ್ಮಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ವಾಕ್ಯಞ್ಚಾಸ್ಮಾಕಮ್ ಅನ್ತರೇ ನ ವಿದ್ಯತೇ|
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
