೧ ಯೋಹನಃ 3
1 ಪಶ್ಯತ ವಯಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಸನ್ತಾನಾ ಇತಿ ನಾಮ್ನಾಖ್ಯಾಮಹೇ, ಏತೇನ ಪಿತಾಸ್ಮಭ್ಯಂ ಕೀದೃಕ್ ಮಹಾಪ್ರೇಮ ಪ್ರದತ್ತವಾನ್, ಕಿನ್ತು ಸಂಸಾರಸ್ತಂ ನಾಜಾನಾತ್ ತತ್ಕಾರಣಾದಸ್ಮಾನ್ ಅಪಿ ನ ಜಾನಾತಿ|
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 ಹೇ ಪ್ರಿಯತಮಾಃ, ಇದಾನೀಂ ವಯಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಸನ್ತಾನಾ ಆಸ್ಮಹೇ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ ಕಿಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಾಮಸ್ತದ್ ಅದ್ಯಾಪ್ಯಪ್ರಕಾಶಿತಂ ಕಿನ್ತು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಂ ಗತೇ ವಯಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಸದೃಶಾ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ಇತಿ ಜಾನೀಮಃ, ಯತಃ ಸ ಯಾದೃಶೋ ಽಸ್ತಿ ತಾದೃಶೋ ಽಸ್ಮಾಭಿರ್ದರ್ಶಿಷ್ಯತೇ|
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಏಷಾ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಾಶಾ ಯಸ್ಯ ಕಸ್ಯಚಿದ್ ಭವತಿ ಸ ಸ್ವಂ ತಥಾ ಪವಿತ್ರಂ ಕರೋತಿ ಯಥಾ ಸ ಪವಿತ್ರೋ ಽಸ್ತಿ|
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 ಯಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಪಾಪಮ್ ಆಚರತಿ ಸ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಲಙ್ಘನಂ ಕರೋತಿ ಯತಃ ಪಾಪಮೇವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಲಙ್ಘನಂ|
Whoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 ಅಪರಂ ಸೋ ಽಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಪಾಪಾನ್ಯಪಹರ್ತ್ತುಂ ಪ್ರಾಕಾಶತೈತದ್ ಯೂಯಂ ಜಾನೀಥ, ಪಾಪಞ್ಚ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ನ ವಿದ್ಯತೇ|
And ye know that he appeared to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 ಯಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿತ್ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ ಸ ಪಾಪಾಚಾರಂ ನ ಕರೋತಿ ಯಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಪಾಪಾಚಾರಂ ಕರೋತಿ ಸ ತಂ ನ ದೃಷ್ಟವಾನ್ ನ ವಾವಗತವಾನ್|
Whoever abideth in him sinneth not: whoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 ಹೇ ಪ್ರಿಯಬಾಲಕಾಃ, ಕಶ್ಚಿದ್ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಭ್ರಮಂ ನ ಜನಯೇತ್, ಯಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿದ್ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಾಚಾರಂ ಕರೋತಿ ಸ ತಾದೃಗ್ ಧಾರ್ಮ್ಮಿಕೋ ಭವತಿ ಯಾದೃಕ್ ಸ ಧಾಮ್ಮಿಕೋ ಽಸ್ತಿ|
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 ಯಃ ಪಾಪಾಚಾರಂ ಕರೋತಿ ಸ ಶಯತಾನಾತ್ ಜಾತೋ ಯತಃ ಶಯತಾನ ಆದಿತಃ ಪಾಪಾಚಾರೀ ಶಯತಾನಸ್ಯ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮಣಾಂ ಲೋಪಾರ್ಥಮೇವೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಪುತ್ರಃ ಪ್ರಾಕಾಶತ|
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 ಯಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿದ್ ಈಶ್ವರಾತ್ ಜಾತಃ ಸ ಪಾಪಾಚಾರಂ ನ ಕರೋತಿ ಯತಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ವೀರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ ಪಾಪಾಚಾರಂ ಕರ್ತ್ತುಞ್ಚ ನ ಶಕ್ನೋತಿ ಯತಃ ಸ ಈಶ್ವರಾತ್ ಜಾತಃ|
Whoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 ಇತ್ಯನೇನೇಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಸನ್ತಾನಾಃ ಶಯತಾನಸ್ಯ ಚ ಸನ್ತಾನಾ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಾ ಭವನ್ತಿ| ಯಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿದ್ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಾಚಾರಂ ನ ಕರೋತಿ ಸ ಈಶ್ವರಾತ್ ಜಾತೋ ನಹಿ ಯಶ್ಚ ಸ್ವಭ್ರಾತರಿ ನ ಪ್ರೀಯತೇ ಸೋ ಽಪೀಶ್ವರಾತ್ ಜಾತೋ ನಹಿ|
In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil: whoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 ಯತಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಯ ಆದೇಶ ಆದಿತೋ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಭಿಃ ಶ್ರುತಃ ಸ ಏಷ ಏವ ಯದ್ ಅಸ್ಮಾಭಿಃ ಪರಸ್ಪರಂ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಕರ್ತ್ತವ್ಯಂ|
For this is the message that ye have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 ಪಾಪಾತ್ಮತೋ ಜಾತೋ ಯಃ ಕಾಬಿಲ್ ಸ್ವಭ್ರಾತರಂ ಹತವಾನ್ ತತ್ಸದೃಶೈರಸ್ಮಾಭಿ ರ್ನ ಭವಿತವ್ಯಂ| ಸ ಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಕಾರಣಾತ್ ತಂ ಹತವಾನ್? ತಸ್ಯ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣಿ ದುಷ್ಟಾನಿ ತದ್ಭ್ರಾತುಶ್ಚ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣಿ ಧರ್ಮ್ಮಾಣ್ಯಾಸನ್ ಇತಿ ಕಾರಣಾತ್|
Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13 ಹೇ ಮಮ ಭ್ರಾತರಃ, ಸಂಸಾರೋ ಯದಿ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ದ್ವೇಷ್ಟಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ತದ್ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ನ ಮನ್ಯಧ್ವಂ|
Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14 ವಯಂ ಮೃತ್ಯುಮ್ ಉತ್ತೀರ್ಯ್ಯ ಜೀವನಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತವನ್ತಸ್ತದ್ ಭ್ರಾತೃಷು ಪ್ರೇಮಕರಣಾತ್ ಜಾನೀಮಃ| ಭ್ರಾತರಿ ಯೋ ನ ಪ್ರೀಯತೇ ಸ ಮೃತ್ಯೌ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ|
We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 ಯಃ ಕಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಸ್ವಭ್ರಾತರಂ ದ್ವೇಷ್ಟಿ ಸಂ ನರಘಾತೀ ಕಿಞ್ಚಾನನ್ತಜೀವನಂ ನರಘಾತಿನಃ ಕಸ್ಯಾಪ್ಯನ್ತರೇ ನಾವತಿಷ್ಠತೇ ತದ್ ಯೂಯಂ ಜಾನೀಥ| (aiōnios g166)
Whoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. (aiōnios g166)
16 ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕೃತೇ ಸ ಸ್ವಪ್ರಾಣಾಂಸ್ತ್ಯಕ್ತವಾನ್ ಇತ್ಯನೇನ ವಯಂ ಪ್ರೇಮ್ನಸ್ತತ್ತ್ವಮ್ ಅವಗತಾಃ, ಅಪರಂ ಭ್ರಾತೃಣಾಂ ಕೃತೇ ಽಸ್ಮಾಭಿರಪಿ ಪ್ರಾಣಾಸ್ತ್ಯಕ್ತವ್ಯಾಃ|
By this we perceive the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 ಸಾಂಸಾರಿಕಜೀವಿಕಾಪ್ರಾಪ್ತೋ ಯೋ ಜನಃ ಸ್ವಭ್ರಾತರಂ ದೀನಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸ್ವೀಯದಯಾಂ ರುಣದ್ಧಿ ತಸ್ಯಾನ್ತರ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಕಥಂ ತಿಷ್ಠೇತ್?
But he who hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his compassions from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18 ಹೇ ಮಮ ಪ್ರಿಯಬಾಲಕಾಃ, ವಾಕ್ಯೇನ ಜಿಹ್ವಯಾ ವಾಸ್ಮಾಭಿಃ ಪ್ರೇಮ ನ ಕರ್ತ್ತವ್ಯಂ ಕಿನ್ತು ಕಾರ್ಯ್ಯೇಣ ಸತ್ಯತಯಾ ಚೈವ|
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 ಏತೇನ ವಯಂ ಯತ್ ಸತ್ಯಮತಸಮ್ಬನ್ಧೀಯಾಸ್ತತ್ ಜಾನೀಮಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಸ್ವಾನ್ತಃಕರಣಾನಿ ಸಾನ್ತ್ವಯಿತುಂ ಶಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಮಶ್ಚ|
And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 ಯತೋ ಽಸ್ಮದನ್ತಃಕರಣಂ ಯದ್ಯಸ್ಮಾನ್ ದೂಷಯತಿ ತರ್ಹ್ಯಸ್ಮದನ್ತಃ ಕರಣಾದ್ ಈಶ್ವರೋ ಮಹಾನ್ ಸರ್ವ್ವಜ್ಞಶ್ಚ|
For if our heart condemneth us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21 ಹೇ ಪ್ರಿಯತಮಾಃ, ಅಸ್ಮದನ್ತಃಕರಣಂ ಯದ್ಯಸ್ಮಾನ್ ನ ದೂಷಯತಿ ತರ್ಹಿ ವಯಮ್ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾನ್ವಿತಾ ಭವಾಮಃ|
Beloved, if our heart doth not condemn us, then have we confidence toward God.
22 ಯಚ್ಚ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಯಾಮಹೇ ತತ್ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ನುಮಃ, ಯತೋ ವಯಂ ತಸ್ಯಾಜ್ಞಾಃ ಪಾಲಯಾಮಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ತುಷ್ಟಿಜನಕಮ್ ಆಚಾರಂ ಕುರ್ಮ್ಮಶ್ಚ|
And whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 ಅಪರಂ ತಸ್ಯೇಯಮಾಜ್ಞಾ ಯದ್ ವಯಂ ಪುತ್ರಸ್ಯ ಯೀಶುಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟಸ್ಯ ನಾಮ್ನಿ ವಿಶ್ವಸಿಮಸ್ತಸ್ಯಾಜ್ಞಾನುಸಾರೇಣ ಚ ಪರಸ್ಪರಂ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಕುರ್ಮ್ಮಃ|
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 ಯಶ್ಚ ತಸ್ಯಾಜ್ಞಾಃ ಪಾಲಯತಿ ಸ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸೋಽಪಿ ತಿಷ್ಠತಿ; ಸ ಚಾಸ್ಮಾನ್ ಯಮ್ ಆತ್ಮಾನಂ ದತ್ತವಾನ್ ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸೋ ಽಸ್ಮಾಸು ತಿಷ್ಠತೀತಿ ಜಾನೀಮಃ|
And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit who he hath given to us.
