< rōmiṇaḥ 16 >

1 kiṁkrīyānagarīyadharmmasamājasya paricārikā yā phaibīnāmikāsmākaṁ dharmmabhaginī tasyāḥ kr̥tē'haṁ yuṣmān nivēdayāmi,
I commend to you Phœbe our sister, who is a deaconess of the church that is in Cenchrea,
2 yūyaṁ tāṁ prabhumāśritāṁ vijñāya tasyā ātithyaṁ pavitralōkārhaṁ kurudhvaṁ, yuṣmattastasyā ya upakārō bhavituṁ śaknōti taṁ kurudhvaṁ, yasmāt tayā bahūnāṁ mama cōpakāraḥ kr̥taḥ|
that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of saints, and that you aid her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she has aided many, and myself also.
3 aparañca khrīṣṭasya yīśōḥ karmmaṇi mama sahakāriṇau mama prāṇarakṣārthañca svaprāṇān paṇīkr̥tavantau yau priṣkillākkilau tau mama namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|
Salute Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow-laborers in Christ Jesus;
4 tābhyām upakārāptiḥ kēvalaṁ mayā svīkarttavyēti nahi bhinnadēśīyaiḥ sarvvadharmmasamājairapi|
who, for my life, laid down their own necks; to whom not only do I give thanks, but all the churches of the Gentiles:
5 aparañca tayō rgr̥hē sthitān dharmmasamājalōkān mama namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ| tadvat āśiyādēśē khrīṣṭasya pakṣē prathamajātaphalasvarūpō ya ipēnitanāmā mama priyabandhustamapi mama namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|
and salute the church that is in their house. Salute Epenetus my beloved, who is the first fruits of Asia to Christ.
6 aparaṁ bahuśramēṇāsmān asēvata yā mariyam tāmapi namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|
Salute Mary, who bestowed much labor on us.
7 aparañca prēritēṣu khyātakīrttī madagrē khrīṣṭāśritau mama svajātīyau sahabandinau ca yāvāndranīkayūniyau tau mama namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|
Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are noted among the apostles, who, also, were in Christ before me.
8 tathā prabhau matpriyatamam āmpliyamapi mama namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|

9 aparaṁ khrīṣṭasēvāyāṁ mama sahakāriṇam ūrbbāṇaṁ mama priyatamaṁ stākhuñca mama namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|

10 aparaṁ khrīṣṭēna parīkṣitam āpilliṁ mama namaskāraṁ vadata, āriṣṭabūlasya parijanāṁśca mama namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|

12 aparaṁ prabhōḥ sēvāyāṁ pariśramakāriṇyau truphēnātruphōṣē mama namaskāraṁ vadata, tathā prabhōḥ sēvāyām atyantaṁ pariśramakāriṇī yā priyā parṣistāṁ namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|
Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labored in the Lord. Salute Persis the beloved, who labored much in the Lord.
13 aparaṁ prabhōrabhirucitaṁ rūphaṁ mama dharmmamātā yā tasya mātā tāmapi namaskāraṁ vadata|
Salute Rufus, the chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.
14 aparam asuṁkr̥taṁ phligōnaṁ harmmaṁ pātrabaṁ harmmim ētēṣāṁ saṅgibhrātr̥gaṇañca namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|
Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hernias, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren with them.
15 aparaṁ philalagō yūliyā nīriyastasya bhaginyalumpā caitān ētaiḥ sārddhaṁ yāvantaḥ pavitralōkā āsatē tānapi namaskāraṁ jñāpayadhvaṁ|
Salute Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints that are with them.
16 yūyaṁ parasparaṁ pavitracumbanēna namaskurudhvaṁ| khrīṣṭasya dharmmasamājagaṇō yuṣmān namaskurutē|
Salute one another with a holy kiss. The churches of the Christ salute you.
17 hē bhrātarō yuṣmān vinayē'haṁ yuṣmābhi ryā śikṣā labdhā tām atikramya yē vicchēdān vighnāṁśca kurvvanti tān niścinuta tēṣāṁ saṅgaṁ varjayata ca|
Now I beseech you, brethren, to mark those who make divisions and cause offenses in opposition to the teaching which you have learned, and avoid them.
18 yatastādr̥śā lōkā asmākaṁ prabhō ryīśukhrīṣṭasya dāsā iti nahi kintu svōdarasyaiva dāsāḥ; aparaṁ praṇayavacanai rmadhuravākyaiśca saralalōkānāṁ manāṁsi mōhayanti|
For such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own appetites; and, by good words and fair speeches, they deceive the hearts of the simple.
19 yuṣmākam ājñāgrāhitvaṁ sarvvatra sarvvai rjñātaṁ tatō'haṁ yuṣmāsu sānandō'bhavaṁ tathāpi yūyaṁ yat satjñānēna jñāninaḥ kujñānē cātatparā bhavētēti mamābhilāṣaḥ|
For your obedience has gone abroad to all men: I rejoice, therefore, on your account. But I desire you to be wise in respect to that which is good, and guileless in respect to that which is evil.
20 adhikantu śāntidāyaka īśvaraḥ śaitānam avilambaṁ yuṣmākaṁ padānām adhō marddiṣyati| asmākaṁ prabhu ryīśukhrīṣṭō yuṣmāsu prasādaṁ kriyāt| iti|
The God of peace will soon bruise Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
21 mama sahakārī tīmathiyō mama jñātayō lūkiyō yāsōn sōsipātraścēmē yuṣmān namaskurvvantē|
Timothy, my fellow-workman, and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.
22 aparam ētatpatralēkhakastarttiyanāmāhamapi prabhō rnāmnā yuṣmān namaskarōmi|
I, Tertius, who wrote this letter, salute you in the Lord.
23 tathā kr̥tsnadharmmasamājasya mama cātithyakārī gāyō yuṣmān namaskarōti| aparam ētannagarasya dhanarakṣaka irāstaḥ kkārttanāmakaścaikō bhrātā tāvapi yuṣmān namaskurutaḥ|
Gaius, my host, and the host of the whole church, salutes you. Erastus the treasurer of the city, and Quartus, my brother, salute you.
24 asmākaṁ prabhu ryīśukhrīṣṭā yuṣmāsu sarvvēṣu prasādaṁ kriyāt| iti|
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
25 pūrvvakālikayugēṣu pracchannā yā mantraṇādhunā prakāśitā bhūtvā bhaviṣyadvādilikhitagranthagaṇasya pramāṇād viśvāsēna grahaṇārthaṁ sadātanasyēśvarasyājñayā sarvvadēśīyalōkān jñāpyatē, (aiōnios g166)
Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel, even the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was concealed during the times of the ages, (aiōnios g166)
26 tasyā mantraṇāyā jñānaṁ labdhvā mayā yaḥ susaṁvādō yīśukhrīṣṭamadhi pracāryyatē, tadanusārād yuṣmān dharmmē susthirān karttuṁ samarthō yō'dvitīyaḥ (aiōnios g166)
but is now made manifest, and through the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, made known among all nations for the obedience of faith, (aiōnios g166)
27 sarvvajña īśvarastasya dhanyavādō yīśukhrīṣṭēna santataṁ bhūyāt| iti| (aiōn g165)
to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be glory throughout the ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)
