< prakāśitaṁ 2 >

1 iphiṣasthasamitē rdūtaṁ prati tvam idaṁ likha; yō dakṣiṇakarēṇa sapta tārā dhārayati saptānāṁ suvarṇadīpavr̥kṣāṇāṁ madhyē gamanāgamanē karōti ca tēnēdam ucyatē|
To the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things says he that holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the middle of the seven golden candlesticks;
2 tava kriyāḥ śramaḥ sahiṣṇutā ca mama gōcarāḥ, tvaṁ duṣṭān sōḍhuṁ na śaknōṣi yē ca prēritā na santaḥ svān prēritān vadanti tvaṁ tān parīkṣya mr̥ṣābhāṣiṇō vijñātavān,
I know your works, and your labor, and your patience, and how you can not bear them which are evil: and you have tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them liars:
3 aparaṁ tvaṁ titikṣāṁ vidadhāsi mama nāmārthaṁ bahu sōḍhavānasi tathāpi na paryyaklāmyastadapi jānāmi|
And have borne, and have patience, and for my name’s sake have labored, and have not fainted.
4 kiñca tava viruddhaṁ mayaitat vaktavyaṁ yat tava prathamaṁ prēma tvayā vyahīyata|
Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love.
5 ataḥ kutaḥ patitō 'si tat smr̥tvā manaḥ parāvarttya pūrvvīyakriyāḥ kuru na cēt tvayā manasi na parivarttitē 'haṁ tūrṇam āgatya tava dīpavr̥kṣaṁ svasthānād apasārayiṣyāmi|
Remember therefore from where you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come to you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent.
6 tathāpi tavēṣa guṇō vidyatē yat nīkalāyatīyalōkānāṁ yāḥ kriyā aham r̥tīyē tāstvamapi r̥tīyamē|
But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
7 yasya śrōtraṁ vidyatē sa samitīḥ pratyucyamānām ātmanaḥ kathāṁ śr̥ṇōtu| yō janō jayati tasmā aham īśvarasyārāmasthajīvanatarōḥ phalaṁ bhōktuṁ dāsyāmi|
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the middle of the paradise of God.
8 aparaṁ smurṇāsthasamitē rdūtaṁ pratīdaṁ likha; ya ādirantaśca yō mr̥tavān punarjīvitavāṁśca tēnēdam ucyatē,
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things says the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
9 tava kriyāḥ klēśō dainyañca mama gōcarāḥ kintu tvaṁ dhanavānasi yē ca yihūdīyā na santaḥ śayatānasya samājāḥ santi tathāpi svān yihūdīyān vadanti tēṣāṁ nindāmapyahaṁ jānāmi|
I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 tvayā yō yaḥ klēśaḥ sōḍhavyastasmāt mā bhaiṣīḥ paśya śayatānō yuṣmākaṁ parīkṣārthaṁ kāṁścit kārāyāṁ nikṣēpsyati daśa dināni yāvat klēśō yuṣmāsu varttiṣyatē ca| tvaṁ mr̥tyuparyyantaṁ viśvāsyō bhava tēnāhaṁ jīvanakirīṭaṁ tubhyaṁ dāsyāmi|
Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be you faithful to death, and I will give you a crown of life.
11 yasya śrōtraṁ vidyatē sa samitīḥ pratyucyamānām ātmanaḥ kathāṁ śr̥ṇōtu| yō jayati sa dvitīyamr̥tyunā na hiṁsiṣyatē|
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death.
12 aparaṁ pargāmasthasamitē rdūtaṁ pratīdaṁ likha, yastīkṣṇaṁ dvidhāraṁ khaṅgaṁ dhārayati sa ēva bhāṣatē|
And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things says he which has the sharp sword with two edges;
13 tava kriyā mama gōcarāḥ, yatra śayatānasya siṁhāsanaṁ tatraiva tvaṁ vasasi tadapi jānāmi| tvaṁ mama nāma dhārayasi madbhaktērasvīkārastvayā na kr̥tō mama viśvāsyasākṣiṇa āntipāḥ samayē 'pi na kr̥taḥ| sa tu yuṣmanmadhyē 'ghāni yataḥ śayatānastatraiva nivasati|
I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan’s seat is: and you hold fast my name, and have not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.
14 tathāpi tava viruddhaṁ mama kiñcid vaktavyaṁ yatō dēvaprasādādanāya paradāragamanāya cēsrāyēlaḥ santānānāṁ sammukha unmāthaṁ sthāpayituṁ bālāk yēnāśikṣyata tasya biliyamaḥ śikṣāvalambinastava kēcit janāstatra santi|
But I have a few things against you, because you have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication.
15 tathā nīkalāyatīyānāṁ śikṣāvalambinastava kēcit janā api santi tadēvāham r̥tīyē|
So have you also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.
16 atō hētōstvaṁ manaḥ parivarttaya na cēdahaṁ tvarayā tava samīpamupasthāya madvaktasthakhaṅgēna taiḥ saha yōtsyāmi|
Repent; or else I will come to you quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 yasya śrōtraṁ vidyatē sa samitīḥ pratyucyamānām ātmanaḥ kathāṁ śr̥ṇōtu| yō janō jayati tasmā ahaṁ guptamānnāṁ bhōktuṁ dāsyāmi śubhraprastaramapi tasmai dāsyāmi tatra prastarē nūtanaṁ nāma likhitaṁ tacca grahītāraṁ vinā nānyēna kēnāpyavagamyatē|
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it.
18 aparaṁ thuyātīrāsthasamitē rdūtaṁ pratīdaṁ likha| yasya lōcanē vahniśikhāsadr̥śē caraṇau ca supittalasaṅkāśau sa īśvaraputrō bhāṣatē,
And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things says the Son of God, who has his eyes like to a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 tava kriyāḥ prēma viśvāsaḥ paricaryyā sahiṣṇutā ca mama gōcarāḥ, tava prathamakriyābhyaḥ śēṣakriyāḥ śrēṣṭhāstadapi jānāmi|
I know your works, and charity, and service, and faith, and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first.
20 tathāpi tava viruddhaṁ mayā kiñcid vaktavyaṁ yatō yā īṣēbalnāmikā yōṣit svāṁ bhaviṣyadvādinīṁ manyatē vēśyāgamanāya dēvaprasādāśanāya ca mama dāsān śikṣayati bhrāmayati ca sā tvayā na nivāryyatē|
Notwithstanding I have a few things against you, because you suffer that woman Jezebel, which calls herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
21 ahaṁ manaḥparivarttanāya tasyai samayaṁ dattavān kintu sā svīyavēśyākriyātō manaḥparivarttayituṁ nābhilaṣati|
And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22 paśyāhaṁ tāṁ śayyāyāṁ nikṣēpsyāmi, yē tayā sārddhaṁ vyabhicāraṁ kurvvanti tē yadi svakriyābhyō manāṁsi na parāvarttayanti tarhi tānapi mahāklēśē nikṣēpsyāmi
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 tasyāḥ santānāṁśca mr̥tyunā haniṣyāmi| tēnāham antaḥkaraṇānāṁ manasāñcānusandhānakārī yuṣmākamēkaikasmai ca svakriyāṇāṁ phalaṁ mayā dātavyamiti sarvvāḥ samitayō jñāsyanti|
And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searches the reins and hearts: and I will give to every one of you according to your works.
24 aparam avaśiṣṭān thuyātīrasthalōkān arthatō yāvantastāṁ śikṣāṁ na dhārayanti yē ca kaiścit śayatānasya gambhīrārthā ucyantē tān yē nāvagatavantastānahaṁ vadāmi yuṣmāsu kamapyaparaṁ bhāraṁ nārōpayiṣyāmi;
But to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put on you none other burden.
25 kintu yad yuṣmākaṁ vidyatē tat mamāgamanaṁ yāvad dhārayata|
But that which you have already hold fast till I come.
26 yō janō jayati śēṣaparyyantaṁ mama kriyāḥ pālayati ca tasmā aham anyajātīyānām ādhipatyaṁ dāsyāmi;
And he that overcomes, and keeps my works to the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 pitr̥tō mayā yadvat kartr̥tvaṁ labdhaṁ tadvat sō 'pi lauhadaṇḍēna tān cārayiṣyati tēna mr̥dbhājanānīva tē cūrṇā bhaviṣyanti|
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 aparam ahaṁ tasmai prabhātīyatārām api dāsyāmi|
And I will give him the morning star.
29 yasya śrōtraṁ vidyatē sa samitīḥ pratyucyamānām ātmanaḥ kathāṁ śr̥ṇōtu|
He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
