This is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, John,
2 sa cēśvarasya vākyē khrīṣṭasya sākṣyē ca yadyad dr̥ṣṭavān tasya pramāṇaṁ dattavān|
who testified to God's word, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, about everything that he saw.
3 ētasya bhaviṣyadvaktr̥granthasya vākyānāṁ pāṭhakaḥ śrōtāraśca tanmadhyē likhitājñāgrāhiṇaśca dhanyā yataḥ sa kālaḥ sannikaṭaḥ|
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is near.
4 yōhan āśiyādēśasthāḥ sapta samitīḥ prati patraṁ likhati| yō varttamānō bhūtō bhaviṣyaṁśca yē ca saptātmānastasya siṁhāsanasya sammukhē tiṣṭhanti
John, to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;
5 yaśca yīśukhrīṣṭō viśvastaḥ sākṣī mr̥tānāṁ madhyē prathamajātō bhūmaṇḍalastharājānām adhipatiśca bhavati, ētēbhyō 'nugrahaḥ śāntiśca yuṣmāsu varttatāṁ|
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and freed us from our sins by his blood;
6 yō 'smāsu prītavān svarudhirēṇāsmān svapāpēbhyaḥ prakṣālitavān tasya piturīśvarasya yājakān kr̥tvāsmān rājavargē niyuktavāṁśca tasmin mahimā parākramaścānantakālaṁ yāvad varttatāṁ| āmēn| (aiōn g165)
and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
7 paśyata sa mēghairāgacchati tēnaikaikasya cakṣustaṁ drakṣyati yē ca taṁ viddhavantastē 'pi taṁ vilōkiṣyantē tasya kr̥tē pr̥thivīsthāḥ sarvvē vaṁśā vilapiṣyanti| satyam āmēn|
Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.
8 varttamānō bhūtō bhaviṣyaṁśca yaḥ sarvvaśaktimān prabhuḥ paramēśvaraḥ sa gadati, ahamēva kaḥ kṣaścārthata ādirantaśca|
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
9 yuṣmākaṁ bhrātā yīśukhrīṣṭasya klēśarājyatitikṣāṇāṁ sahabhāgī cāhaṁ yōhan īśvarasya vākyahētō ryīśukhrīṣṭasya sākṣyahētōśca pātmanāmaka upadvīpa āsaṁ|
I John, your brother and fellow-partner with you in persecution, Kingdom, and patient endurance in Jesus, was on the island that is called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
10 tatra prabhō rdinē ātmanāviṣṭō 'haṁ svapaścāt tūrīdhvanivat mahāravam aśrauṣaṁ,
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like a trumpet
11 tēnōktam, ahaṁ kaḥ kṣaścārthata ādirantaśca| tvaṁ yad drakṣyasi tad granthē likhitvāśiyādēśasthānāṁ sapta samitīnāṁ samīpam iphiṣaṁ smurṇāṁ thuyātīrāṁ sārddiṁ philādilphiyāṁ lāyadīkēyāñca prēṣaya|
saying, "What you see, write on a scroll and send to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
12 tatō mayā sambhāṣamāṇasya kasya ravaḥ śrūyatē taddarśanārthaṁ mukhaṁ parāvarttitaṁ tat parāvartya svarṇamayāḥ sapta dīpavr̥kṣā dr̥ṣṭāḥ|
I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. Having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands.
13 tēṣāṁ sapta dīpavr̥kṣāṇāṁ madhyē dīrghaparicchadaparihitaḥ suvarṇaśr̥ṅkhalēna vēṣṭitavakṣaśca manuṣyaputrākr̥tirēkō janastiṣṭhati,
And among the lampstands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest.
14 tasya śiraḥ kēśaśca śvētamēṣalōmānīva himavat śrētau lōcanē vahniśikhāsamē
His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire.
15 caraṇau vahnikuṇḍētāpitasupittalasadr̥śau ravaśca bahutōyānāṁ ravatulyaḥ|
His feet were like burnished bronze, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters.
16 tasya dakṣiṇahastē sapta tārā vidyantē vaktrācca tīkṣṇō dvidhāraḥ khaṅgō nirgacchati mukhamaṇḍalañca svatējasā dēdīpyamānasya sūryyasya sadr̥śaṁ|
He had seven stars in his right hand. Out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at its brightest.
17 taṁ dr̥ṣṭvāhaṁ mr̥takalpastaccaraṇē patitastataḥ svadakṣiṇakaraṁ mayi nidhāya tēnōktam mā bhaiṣīḥ; aham ādirantaśca|
When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last,
18 aham amarastathāpi mr̥tavān kintu paśyāham anantakālaṁ yāvat jīvāmi| āmēn| mr̥tyōḥ paralōkasya ca kuñjikā mama hastagatāḥ| (aiōn g165, Hadēs g86)
and the Living one. I was dead, but look, I am alive forevermore. I have the keys of Death and of hell. (aiōn g165, Hadēs g86)
19 atō yad bhavati yaccētaḥ paraṁ bhaviṣyati tvayā dr̥ṣṭaṁ tat sarvvaṁ likhyatāṁ|
Write therefore the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will happen hereafter;
20 mama dakṣiṇahastē sthitā yāḥ sapta tārā yē ca svarṇamayāḥ sapta dīpavr̥kṣāstvayā dr̥ṣṭāstattātparyyamidaṁ tāḥ sapta tārāḥ sapta samitīnāṁ dūtāḥ suvarṇamayāḥ sapta dīpavr̥kṣāśca sapta samitayaḥ santi|
the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches. The seven lampstands are seven churches.
