< 2 karinthinaḥ 6 >

1 tasya sahāyā vayaṁ yuṣmān prārthayāmahē, īśvarasyānugrahō yuṣmābhi rvr̥thā na gr̥hyatāṁ|
As fellow-workers, then, with him, we also exhort you that ye receive not the grace of God in vain;
2 tēnōktamētat, saṁśrōṣyāmi śubhē kālē tvadīyāṁ prārthanām ahaṁ| upakāraṁ kariṣyāmi paritrāṇadinē tava| paśyatāyaṁ śubhakālaḥ paśyatēdaṁ trāṇadinaṁ|
(for he saith: “In an accepted time I heard thee, and in the day of salvation I helped thee;” Behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation; )
3 asmākaṁ paricaryyā yanniṣkalaṅkā bhavēt tadarthaṁ vayaṁ kutrāpi vighnaṁ na janayāmaḥ,
giving no occasion for stumbling in anything, that the ministry may not be blamed;
4 kintu pracurasahiṣṇutā klēśō dainyaṁ vipat tāḍanā kārābandhanaṁ nivāsahīnatvaṁ pariśramō jāgaraṇam upavasanaṁ
but as God's ministers recommending ourselves in all things, in much endurance, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5 nirmmalatvaṁ jñānaṁ mr̥duśīlatā hitaiṣitā
in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;
6 pavitra ātmā niṣkapaṭaṁ prēma satyālāpa īśvarīyaśakti
in pureness, in knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love unfeigned,
7 rdakṣiṇavāmābhyāṁ karābhyāṁ dharmmāstradhāraṇaṁ
in the word of truth, in the power of God, by the weapons of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
8 mānāpamānayōrakhyātisukhyātyō rbhāgitvam ētaiḥ sarvvairīśvarasya praśaṁsyān paricārakān svān prakāśayāmaḥ|
through honor and dishonor, through evil report and good report; as deceivers, and true;
9 bhramakasamā vayaṁ satyavādinō bhavāmaḥ, aparicitasamā vayaṁ suparicitā bhavāmaḥ, mr̥takalpā vayaṁ jīvāmaḥ, daṇḍyamānā vayaṁ na hanyāmahē,
as unknown, and well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
10 śōkayuktāśca vayaṁ sadānandāmaḥ, daridrā vayaṁ bahūn dhaninaḥ kurmmaḥ, akiñcanāśca vayaṁ sarvvaṁ dhārayāmaḥ|
as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and possessing all things.
11 hē karinthinaḥ, yuṣmākaṁ prati mamāsyaṁ muktaṁ mamāntaḥkaraṇāñca vikasitaṁ|
Our mouth is open to you, O Corinthians, our heart is enlarged.
12 yūyaṁ mamāntarē na saṅkōcitāḥ kiñca yūyamēva saṅkōcitacittāḥ|
Ye have not a narrow place in my heart, but ye have a narrow place for me in yours.
13 kintu mahyaṁ nyāyyaphaladānārthaṁ yuṣmābhirapi vikasitai rbhavitavyam ityahaṁ nijabālakāniva yuṣmān vadāmi|
So then in return, I speak to you as children, let your hearts be enlarged.
14 aparam apratyayibhiḥ sārddhaṁ yūyam ēkayugē baddhā mā bhūta, yasmād dharmmādharmmayōḥ kaḥ sambandhō'sti? timirēṇa sarddhaṁ prabhāyā vā kā tulanāsti?
Be not strangely yoked with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? Or what communion hath light with darkness?
15 bilīyāladēvēna sākaṁ khrīṣṭasya vā kā sandhiḥ? aviśvāsinā sārddhaṁ vā viśvāsilōkasyāṁśaḥ kaḥ?
And what concord hath Christ with Beliar? Or what part hath a believer with an unbeliever?
16 īśvarasya mandirēṇa saha vā dēvapratimānāṁ kā tulanā? amarasyēśvarasya mandiraṁ yūyamēva| īśvarēṇa taduktaṁ yathā, tēṣāṁ madhyē'haṁ svāvāsaṁ nidhāsyāmi tēṣāṁ madhyē ca yātāyātaṁ kurvvan tēṣām īśvarō bhaviṣyāmi tē ca mallōkā bhaviṣyanti|
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God said: “I will dwell among them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
17 atō hētōḥ paramēśvaraḥ kathayati yūyaṁ tēṣāṁ madhyād bahirbhūya pr̥thag bhavata, kimapyamēdhyaṁ na spr̥śata; tēnāhaṁ yuṣmān grahīṣyāmi,
“Wherefore come out from the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and touch not anything unclean;” “and I will receive you,
18 yuṣmākaṁ pitā bhaviṣyāmi ca, yūyañca mama kanyāputrā bhaviṣyathēti sarvvaśaktimatā paramēśvarēṇōktaṁ|
and will be to you a father, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
