1 manoduḥkhino mā bhūta; īśvare viśvasita mayi ca viśvasita|
And he sayd vnto his disciples: Let not youre hertes be troubled. Beleve in god and beleve in me.
2 mama pitu gṛhe bahūni vāsasthāni santi no cet pūrvvaṁ yuṣmān ajñāpayiṣyaṁ yuṣmadarthaṁ sthānaṁ sajjayituṁ gacchāmi|
In my fathers housse are many mansions. If it were not so I wolde have tolde you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 yadi gatvāhaṁ yuṣmannimittaṁ sthānaṁ sajjayāmi tarhi panarāgatya yuṣmān svasamīpaṁ neṣyāmi, tato yatrāhaṁ tiṣṭhāmi tatra yūyamapi sthāsyatha|
And yf I go to prepare a place for you I will come agayne and receave you eve vnto my selfe yt where I am there maye ye be also.
4 ahaṁ yatsthānaṁ brajāmi tatsthānaṁ yūyaṁ jānītha tasya panthānamapi jānītha|
And whither I go ye knowe and ye waye ye knowe.
5 tadā thomā avadat, he prabho bhavān kutra yāti tadvayaṁ na jānīmaḥ, tarhi kathaṁ panthānaṁ jñātuṁ śaknumaḥ?
Thomas sayde vnto him: Lorde we knowe not whyther thou goest. Also how is it possible for vs to knowe the waye?
6 yīśurakathayad ahameva satyajīvanarūpapatho mayā na gantā kopi pituḥ samīpaṁ gantuṁ na śaknoti|
Iesus sayd vnto him: I am ye waye ye truthe and ye life. And no man cometh vnto the father but by me.
7 yadi mām ajñāsyata tarhi mama pitaramapyajñāsyata kintvadhunātastaṁ jānītha paśyatha ca|
Yf ye had knowe me ye had knowe my father also. And now ye knowe him and have sene him.
8 tadā philipaḥ kathitavān, he prabho pitaraṁ darśaya tasmādasmākaṁ yatheṣṭaṁ bhaviṣyati|
Philip sayd vnto him: Lorde shew vs the father and it suffiseth vs.
9 tato yīśuḥ pratyāvādīt, he philipa yuṣmābhiḥ sārddham etāvaddināni sthitamapi māṁ kiṁ na pratyabhijānāsi? yo jano mām apaśyat sa pitaramapyapaśyat tarhi pitaram asmān darśayeti kathāṁ kathaṁ kathayasi?
Iesus sayde vnto him: have I bene so longe tyme wt you: and yet hast thou not knowen me? Philip he yt hath sene me hath sene ye father. And how sayest thou then: shew vs the father?
10 ahaṁ pitari tiṣṭhāmi pitā mayi tiṣṭhatīti kiṁ tvaṁ na pratyaṣi? ahaṁ yadvākyaṁ vadāmi tat svato na vadāmi kintu yaḥ pitā mayi virājate sa eva sarvvakarmmāṇi karāti|
Belevest thou not that I am in ye father and the father in me? The wordes that I speake vnto you I speakee not of my selfe: but ye father that dwelleth in me is he that doeth ye workes.
11 ataeva pitaryyahaṁ tiṣṭhāmi pitā ca mayi tiṣṭhati mamāsyāṁ kathāyāṁ pratyayaṁ kuruta, no cet karmmahetoḥ pratyayaṁ kuruta|
Beleve me that I am the father and ye father in me. At the leest beleve me for the very workes sake.
12 ahaṁ yuṣmānatiyathārthaṁ vadāmi, yo jano mayi viśvasiti sohamiva karmmāṇi kariṣyati varaṁ tatopi mahākarmmāṇi kariṣyati yato hetorahaṁ pituḥ samīpaṁ gacchāmi|
Verely verely I saye vnto you: he that beleveth on me the workes that I doo the same shall he do and greater workes then these shall he do because I go vnto my father.
13 yathā putreṇa pitu rmahimā prakāśate tadarthaṁ mama nāma procya yat prārthayiṣyadhve tat saphalaṁ kariṣyāmi|
And what soever ye axe in my name yt will I do yt the father might be glorified by the sonne.
14 yadi mama nāmnā yat kiñcid yācadhve tarhi tadahaṁ sādhayiṣyāmi|
Yf ye shall axe eny thige in my name I will do it
15 yadi mayi prīyadhve tarhi mamājñāḥ samācarata|
If ye love me kepe my comaundementes
16 tato mayā pituḥ samīpe prārthite pitā nirantaraṁ yuṣmābhiḥ sārddhaṁ sthātum itaramekaṁ sahāyam arthāt satyamayam ātmānaṁ yuṣmākaṁ nikaṭaṁ preṣayiṣyati| (aiōn g165)
and I will praye the father and he shall geve you a nother comforter yt he maye byde with you ever (aiōn g165)
17 etajjagato lokāstaṁ grahītuṁ na śaknuvanti yataste taṁ nāpaśyan nājanaṁśca kintu yūyaṁ jānītha yato hetoḥ sa yuṣmākamanta rnivasati yuṣmākaṁ madhye sthāsyati ca|
which is the sprete of truthe whome the worlde canot receave because the worlde seyth him not nether knoweth him. But ye knowe him. For he dwelleth with you and shalbe in you.
18 ahaṁ yuṣmān anāthān kṛtvā na yāsyāmi punarapi yuṣmākaṁ samīpam āgamiṣyāmi|
I will not leave you comfortlesse: but will come vnto you.
19 kiyatkālarat param asya jagato lokā māṁ puna rna drakṣyanti kintu yūyaṁ drakṣyatha; ahaṁ jīviṣyāmi tasmāt kāraṇād yūyamapi jīviṣyatha|
Yet a litell whyle and the worlde seith me no moare: but ye shall se me. For I live and ye shall live.
20 pitaryyahamasmi mayi ca yūyaṁ stha, tathāhaṁ yuṣmāsvasmi tadapi tadā jñāsyatha|
That daye shall ye knowe that I am in my father and you in me and I in you
21 yo jano mamājñā gṛhītvā tā ācarati saeva mayi prīyate; yo janaśca mayi prīyate saeva mama pituḥ priyapātraṁ bhaviṣyati, tathāhamapi tasmin prītvā tasmai svaṁ prakāśayiṣyāmi|
He that hath my comaundemetes and kepeth them the same is he that loveth me. And he yt loveth me shall be loved of my father: and I will love him and will shewe myne awne selfe vnto him.
22 tadā īṣkariyotīyād anyo yihūdāstamavadat, he prabho bhavān jagato lokānāṁ sannidhau prakāśito na bhūtvāsmākaṁ sannidhau kutaḥ prakāśito bhaviṣyati?
Iudas sayde vnto him (not Iudas Iscarioth) Lorde what is the cause that thou wilt shewe thy selfe vnto vs and not vnto the worlde?
23 tato yīśuḥ pratyuditavān, yo jano mayi prīyate sa mamājñā api gṛhlāti, tena mama pitāpi tasmin preṣyate, āvāñca tannikaṭamāgatya tena saha nivatsyāvaḥ|
Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: yf a man love me and wyll kepe my sayinges my father also will love him and we will come vnto him and will dwelle with him.
24 yo jano mayi na prīyate sa mama kathā api na gṛhlāti punaśca yāmimāṁ kathāṁ yūyaṁ śṛṇutha sā kathā kevalasya mama na kintu mama prerako yaḥ pitā tasyāpi kathā|
He that loveth me not kepeth not my sayinges. And the wordes which ye heare are not myne but the fathers which sent me.
25 idānīṁ yuṣmākaṁ nikaṭe vidyamānoham etāḥ sakalāḥ kathāḥ kathayāmi|
This have I spoken vnto you beynge yet present with you.
26 kintvitaḥ paraṁ pitrā yaḥ sahāyo'rthāt pavitra ātmā mama nāmni prerayiṣyati sa sarvvaṁ śikṣayitvā mayoktāḥ samastāḥ kathā yuṣmān smārayiṣyati|
But that coforter which is the holy gost (whom my father will sende in my name) he shall teache you all thinges and bringe all thinges to youre remembraunce whatsoever I have tolde you.
27 ahaṁ yuṣmākaṁ nikaṭe śāntiṁ sthāpayitvā yāmi, nijāṁ śāntiṁ yuṣmabhyaṁ dadāmi, jagato lokā yathā dadāti tathāhaṁ na dadāmi; yuṣmākam antaḥkaraṇāni duḥkhitāni bhītāni ca na bhavantu|
Peace I leve with you my peace I geve vnto you. Not as the worlde geveth geve I vnto you. Let not youre hertes be greved nether feare ye.
28 ahaṁ gatvā punarapi yuṣmākaṁ samīpam āgamiṣyāmi mayoktaṁ vākyamidaṁ yūyam aśrauṣṭa; yadi mayyapreṣyadhvaṁ tarhyahaṁ pituḥ samīpaṁ gacchāmi mamāsyāṁ kathāyāṁ yūyam ahlādiṣyadhvaṁ yato mama pitā mattopi mahān|
Ye have hearde how I sayde vnto you: I go and come agayne vnto you. If ye loved me ye wolde verely reioyce because I sayde I go vnto ye father. For ye father is greater then I
29 tasyā ghaṭanāyāḥ samaye yathā yuṣmākaṁ śraddhā jāyate tadartham ahaṁ tasyā ghaṭanāyāḥ pūrvvam idānīṁ yuṣmān etāṁ vārttāṁ vadāmi|
And now have I shewed you before it come yt whe it is come to passe ye might beleve.
30 itaḥ paraṁ yuṣmābhiḥ saha mama bahava ālāpā na bhaviṣyanti yataḥ kāraṇād etasya jagataḥ patirāgacchati kintu mayā saha tasya kopi sambandho nāsti|
Here after will I not talke many mordes vnto you. For the rular of this worlde commeth and hath nought in me.
31 ahaṁ pitari prema karomi tathā pitu rvidhivat karmmāṇi karomīti yena jagato lokā jānanti tadartham uttiṣṭhata vayaṁ sthānādasmād gacchāma|
But that the worlde maye knowe that I love the father: therfore as the father gave me comaundment even so do I. Ryse let vs go hence.
