યોહનઃ 11
1 અનન્તરં મરિયમ્ તસ્યા ભગિની મર્થા ચ યસ્મિન્ વૈથનીયાગ્રામે વસતસ્તસ્મિન્ ગ્રામે ઇલિયાસર્ નામા પીડિત એક આસીત્|
Was now a certain [man] ailing, Lazarus of Bethany of the village of Mary and Martha the sister of her;
2 યા મરિયમ્ પ્રભું સુગન્ધિતેલૈન મર્દ્દયિત્વા સ્વકેશૈસ્તસ્ય ચરણૌ સમમાર્જત્ તસ્યા ભ્રાતા સ ઇલિયાસર્ રોગી|
Was now Mary the [one] having anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and having wiped the feet of Him with the hair of her, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
3 અપરઞ્ચ હે પ્રભો ભવાન્ યસ્મિન્ પ્રીયતે સ એવ પીડિતોસ્તીતિ કથાં કથયિત્વા તસ્ય ભગિન્યૌ પ્રેષિતવત્યૌ|
Sent therefore the sisters to Him saying; Lord, behold [he] whom You love was being sick.
4 તદા યીશુરિમાં વાર્ત્તાં શ્રુત્વાકથયત પીડેયં મરણાર્થં ન કિન્ત્વીશ્વરસ્ય મહિમાર્થમ્ ઈશ્વરપુત્રસ્ય મહિમપ્રકાશાર્થઞ્ચ જાતા|
Having heard then Jesus said; This sickness not is unto death but for the glory of God that may be glorified the Son of God through it.
5 યીશુ ર્યદ્યપિમર્થાયાં તદ્ભગિન્યામ્ ઇલિયાસરિ ચાપ્રીયત,
was loving now Jesus Martha and the sister of her and Lazarus.
6 તથાપિ ઇલિયાસરઃ પીડાયાઃ કથં શ્રુત્વા યત્ર આસીત્ તત્રૈવ દિનદ્વયમતિષ્ઠત્|
When therefore He heard that he is sick, then indeed He remained in which He was [the] place two days.
7 તતઃ પરમ્ સ શિષ્યાનકથયદ્ વયં પુન ર્યિહૂદીયપ્રદેશં યામઃ|
Then after this He says to the disciples; Let us go into Judea again.
8 તતસ્તે પ્રત્યવદન્, હે ગુરો સ્વલ્પદિનાનિ ગતાનિ યિહૂદીયાસ્ત્વાં પાષાણૈ ર્હન્તુમ્ ઉદ્યતાસ્તથાપિ કિં પુનસ્તત્ર યાસ્યસિ?
Say to Him the disciples; Rabbi, just now were seeking You to stone the Jews, and again You are going there?
9 યીશુઃ પ્રત્યવદત્, એકસ્મિન્ દિને કિં દ્વાદશઘટિકા ન ભવન્તિ? કોપિ દિવા ગચ્છન્ ન સ્ખલતિ યતઃ સ એતજ્જગતો દીપ્તિં પ્રાપ્નોતિ|
Answered (*k*) Jesus; Surely twelve hours are there in the day? If anyone shall walk in the day, not he stumbles, because the light of the world this he sees.
10 કિન્તુ રાત્રૌ ગચ્છન્ સ્ખલતિ યતો હેતોસ્તત્ર દીપ્તિ ર્નાસ્તિ|
if however anyone shall walk in the night, he stumbles, because the light not is in him.
11 ઇમાં કથાં કથયિત્વા સ તાનવદદ્, અસ્માકં બન્ધુઃ ઇલિયાસર્ નિદ્રિતોભૂદ્ ઇદાનીં તં નિદ્રાતો જાગરયિતું ગચ્છામિ|
These things He said and after this He says to them; Lazarus the friend of us has fallen asleep; but I go that I may awaken him.
12 યીશુ ર્મૃતૌ કથામિમાં કથિતવાન્ કિન્તુ વિશ્રામાર્થં નિદ્રાયાં કથિતવાન્ ઇતિ જ્ઞાત્વા શિષ્યા અકથયન્,
Said therefore the disciples (to Him; *N(K)O*) Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well.
13 હે ગુરો સ યદિ નિદ્રાતિ તર્હિ ભદ્રમેવ|
Had spoken however Jesus of the death of him; they however thought that of the rest of sleep He speaks.
14 તદા યીશુઃ સ્પષ્ટં તાન્ વ્યાહરત્, ઇલિયાસર્ અમ્રિયત;
Then therefore said to them Jesus plainly; Lazarus has died.
15 કિન્તુ યૂયં યથા પ્રતીથ તદર્થમહં તત્ર ન સ્થિતવાન્ ઇત્યસ્માદ્ યુષ્મન્નિમિત્તમ્ આહ્લાદિતોહં, તથાપિ તસ્ય સમીપે યામ|
And I rejoice for sake of you, in order that you may believe, that not I was there; But let us go to him.
16 તદા થોમા યં દિદુમં વદન્તિ સ સઙ્ગિનઃ શિષ્યાન્ અવદદ્ વયમપિ ગત્વા તેન સાર્દ્ધં મ્રિયામહૈ|
Said therefore Thomas who is being named Didymus to the fellow disciples; Let us go also us that we may die with Him.
17 યીશુસ્તત્રોપસ્થાય ઇલિયાસરઃ શ્મશાને સ્થાપનાત્ ચત્વારિ દિનાનિ ગતાનીતિ વાર્ત્તાં શ્રુતવાન્|
Having come therefore Jesus found him four already days having been in the tomb.
18 વૈથનીયા યિરૂશાલમઃ સમીપસ્થા ક્રોશૈકમાત્રાન્તરિતા;
Was now Bethany near Jerusalem about away stadia fifteen.
19 તસ્માદ્ બહવો યિહૂદીયા મર્થાં મરિયમઞ્ચ ભ્યાતૃશોકાપન્નાં સાન્ત્વયિતું તયોઃ સમીપમ્ આગચ્છન્|
(and *k*) Many (now *no*) of the Jews had come unto (*N(k)O*) (concerning *k*) Martha and Mary that they may console them concerning the brother (of them. *k*)
20 મર્થા યીશોરાગમનવાર્તાં શ્રુત્વૈવ તં સાક્ષાદ્ અકરોત્ કિન્તુ મરિયમ્ ગેહ ઉપવિશ્ય સ્થિતા|
Therefore Martha, when she heard that (*k*) Jesus is coming, met with Him; Mary however in the house was sitting.
21 તદા મર્થા યીશુમવાદત્, હે પ્રભો યદિ ભવાન્ અત્રાસ્થાસ્યત્ તર્હિ મમ ભ્રાતા નામરિષ્યત્|
Said then Martha to Jesus; Lord, if You had been here, not then would (be dead *N(k)O*) the brother of mine.
22 કિન્ત્વિદાનીમપિ યદ્ ઈશ્વરે પ્રાર્થયિષ્યતે ઈશ્વરસ્તદ્ દાસ્યતીતિ જાનેઽહં|
Nevertheless even now I know that as much as maybe You may ask God will give You God.
23 યીશુરવાદીત્ તવ ભ્રાતા સમુત્થાસ્યતિ|
Says to her Jesus; Will rise again the brother of you.
24 મર્થા વ્યાહરત્ શેષદિવસે સ ઉત્થાનસમયે પ્રોત્થાસ્યતીતિ જાનેઽહં|
Says to him (*no*) Martha; I know that he will rise again in the resurrection in the last day.
25 તદા યીશુઃ કથિતવાન્ અહમેવ ઉત્થાપયિતા જીવયિતા ચ યઃ કશ્ચન મયિ વિશ્વસિતિ સ મૃત્વાપિ જીવિષ્યતિ;
Said to her Jesus; I myself am the resurrection and the life; the [one] believing in Me myself even if even if he shall die he will live,
and everyone who is living and believing in Me myself certainly not he shall die to the age. Believe you this? (aiōn g165)
27 સાવદત્ પ્રભો યસ્યાવતરણાપેક્ષાસ્તિ ભવાન્ સએવાભિષિક્ત્ત ઈશ્વરપુત્ર ઇતિ વિશ્વસિમિ|
She says to Him; Yes Lord; I myself have believed that You yourself are the Christ the Son of God the [One] into the world coming.
28 ઇતિ કથાં કથયિત્વા સા ગત્વા સ્વાં ભગિનીં મરિયમં ગુપ્તમાહૂય વ્યાહરત્ ગુરુરુપતિષ્ઠતિ ત્વામાહૂયતિ ચ|
And (these things *N(k)O*) having said she went away and she called Mary the sister of her secretly having said; The Teacher is come and He calls you.
29 કથામિમાં શ્રુત્વા સા તૂર્ણમ્ ઉત્થાય તસ્ય સમીપમ્ અગચ્છત્|
She (then *no*) when she heard ([she] rose up *N(k)O*) quickly and (was coming *N(k)O*) to Him.
30 યીશુ ર્ગ્રામમધ્યં ન પ્રવિશ્ય યત્ર મર્થા તં સાક્ષાદ્ અકરોત્ તત્ર સ્થિતવાન્|
Not yet now had come Jesus into the village, but was (still *no*) in the place where met with Him Martha.
31 યે યિહૂદીયા મરિયમા સાકં ગૃહે તિષ્ઠન્તસ્તામ્ અસાન્ત્વયન તે તાં ક્ષિપ્રમ્ ઉત્થાય ગચ્છન્તિં વિલોક્ય વ્યાહરન્, સ શ્મશાને રોદિતું યાતિ, ઇત્યુક્ત્વા તે તસ્યાઃ પશ્ચાદ્ અગચ્છન્|
The then Jews who are being with her in the house and consoling her, having seen Mary that soon she rose up and went out, followed after her, (having supposed *N(K)O*) that she is going to the tomb that she may weep there.
32 યત્ર યીશુરતિષ્ઠત્ તત્ર મરિયમ્ ઉપસ્થાય તં દૃષ્ટ્વા તસ્ય ચરણયોઃ પતિત્વા વ્યાહરત્ હે પ્રભો યદિ ભવાન્ અત્રાસ્થાસ્યત્ તર્હિ મમ ભ્રાતા નામરિષ્યત્|
Therefore Mary when she came to where was (*k*) Jesus, having seen Him she fell of Him (at *N(k)O*) the feet saying to Him; Lord, if You had been here, not then would my have died brother.
33 યીશુસ્તાં તસ્યાઃ સઙ્ગિનો યિહૂદીયાંશ્ચ રુદતો વિલોક્ય શોકાર્ત્તઃ સન્ દીર્ઘં નિશ્વસ્ય કથિતવાન્ તં કુત્રાસ્થાપયત?
Jesus therefore when He saw her weeping and the having come with her Jews weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled Himself
34 તે વ્યાહરન્, હે પ્રભો ભવાન્ આગત્ય પશ્યતુ|
And He said; Where have you laid him? They say to Him; Lord, do come and do see.
35 યીશુના ક્રન્દિતં|
Wept Jesus.
36 અતએવ યિહૂદીયા અવદન્, પશ્યતાયં તસ્મિન્ કિદૃગ્ અપ્રિયત|
Were saying therefore the Jews; Behold how He was loving him!
37 તેષાં કેચિદ્ અવદન્ યોન્ધાય ચક્ષુષી દત્તવાન્ સ કિમ્ અસ્ય મૃત્યું નિવારયિતું નાશક્નોત્?
Some however of them said; Surely was able this [man] who having opened the eyes of the blind to have caused that also this one not may have died?
38 તતો યીશુઃ પુનરન્તર્દીર્ઘં નિશ્વસ્ય શ્મશાનાન્તિકમ્ અગચ્છત્| તત્ શ્મશાનમ્ એકં ગહ્વરં તન્મુખે પાષાણ એક આસીત્|
Jesus therefore again being deeply moved in Himself He comes to the tomb; It was now a cave, and a stone was lying against it.
39 તદા યીશુરવદદ્ એનં પાષાણમ્ અપસારયત, તતઃ પ્રમીતસ્ય ભગિની મર્થાવદત્ પ્રભો, અધુના તત્ર દુર્ગન્ધો જાતઃ, યતોદ્ય ચત્વારિ દિનાનિ શ્મશાને સ તિષ્ઠતિ|
Says Jesus; do take away the stone. Says to Him the sister of the [one] (having deceased *N(k)O*) Martha; Lord, already he stinks; four days for it is.
40 તદા યીશુરવાદીત્, યદિ વિશ્વસિષિ તર્હીશ્વરસ્ય મહિમપ્રકાશં દ્રક્ષ્યસિ કથામિમાં કિં તુભ્યં નાકથયં?
Says to her Jesus; Surely I said to you that if you shall believe you will see the glory of God?
41 તદા મૃતસ્ય શ્મશાનાત્ પાષાણોઽપસારિતે યીશુરૂર્દ્વ્વં પશ્યન્ અકથયત્, હે પિત ર્મમ નેવેસનમ્ અશૃણોઃ કારણાદસ્માત્ ત્વાં ધન્યં વદામિ|
They took away therefore the stone (where was who having died laid. *K*) Now Jesus lifted [His] eyes upwards and said; Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.
42 ત્વં સતતં શૃણોષિ તદપ્યહં જાનામિ, કિન્તુ ત્વં માં યત્ પ્રૈરયસ્તદ્ યથાસ્મિન્ સ્થાને સ્થિતા લોકા વિશ્વસન્તિ તદર્થમ્ ઇદં વાક્યં વદામિ|
I myself and knew that always Me You hear; but on account of the crowd which already standing around I said [it], that they may believe that You yourself Me sent.
43 ઇમાં કથાં કથયિત્વા સ પ્રોચ્ચૈરાહ્વયત્, હે ઇલિયાસર્ બહિરાગચ્છ|
And these things having said in a voice loud He cried out; Lazarus, come forth.
44 તતઃ સ પ્રમીતઃ શ્મશાનવસ્ત્રૈ ર્બદ્ધહસ્તપાદો ગાત્રમાર્જનવાસસા બદ્ધમુખશ્ચ બહિરાગચ્છત્| યીશુરુદિતવાન્ બન્ધનાનિ મોચયિત્વા ત્યજતૈનં|
(and *k*) Came forth the [one] having died bound the feet and the hands with linen strips, and the face of him in a headcloth had bound about. Says to them Jesus: do unbind him and do allow him to go.
45 મરિયમઃ સમીપમ્ આગતા યે યિહૂદીયલોકાસ્તદા યીશોરેતત્ કર્મ્માપશ્યન્ તેષાં બહવો વ્યશ્વસન્,
Many therefore of the Jews having come to Mary and having seen (what things *NK(o)*) He did (Jesus *k*) believed in Him.
46 કિન્તુ કેચિદન્યે ફિરૂશિનાં સમીપં ગત્વા યીશોરેતસ્ય કર્મ્મણો વાર્ત્તામ્ અવદન્|
some however of them went to the Pharisees and told to them what did (*ko*) Jesus.
47 તતઃ પરં પ્રધાનયાજકાઃ ફિરૂશિનાશ્ચ સભાં કૃત્વા વ્યાહરન્ વયં કિં કુર્મ્મઃ? એષ માનવો બહૂન્યાશ્ચર્ય્યકર્મ્માણિ કરોતિ|
Gathered therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees a council and they were saying; What are we to do? For this man many does signs!
48 યદીદૃશં કર્મ્મ કર્ત્તું ન વારયામસ્તર્હિ સર્વ્વે લોકાસ્તસ્મિન્ વિશ્વસિષ્યન્તિ રોમિલોકાશ્ચાગત્યાસ્માકમ્ અનયા રાજધાન્યા સાર્દ્ધં રાજ્યમ્ આછેત્સ્યન્તિ|
If we shall let him alone Him like this, all will believe in Him, and will come the Romans and will take away of us both the place and the nation.
49 તદા તેષાં કિયફાનામા યસ્તસ્મિન્ વત્સરે મહાયાજકપદે ન્યયુજ્યત સ પ્રત્યવદદ્ યૂયં કિમપિ ન જાનીથ;
One however certain of them Caiaphas, high priest being on the year same, said to them; You yourselves not know no [thing],
50 સમગ્રદેશસ્ય વિનાશતોપિ સર્વ્વલોકાર્થમ્ એકસ્ય જનસ્ય મરણમ્ અસ્માકં મઙ્ગલહેતુકમ્ એતસ્ય વિવેચનામપિ ન કુરુથ|
nor (consider you *N(k)O*) that it is profitable (for you *N(K)O*) that one man may die for the people, and not all the nation may perish.
51 એતાં કથાં સ નિજબુદ્ધ્યા વ્યાહરદ્ ઇતિ ન,
This now from himself not he said, but high priest being on the year that he prophesied that was about (*k*) Jesus to die for the nation,
52 કિન્તુ યીશૂસ્તદ્દેશીયાનાં કારણાત્ પ્રાણાન્ ત્યક્ષ્યતિ, દિશિ દિશિ વિકીર્ણાન્ ઈશ્વરસ્ય સન્તાનાન્ સંગૃહ્યૈકજાતિં કરિષ્યતિ ચ, તસ્મિન્ વત્સરે કિયફા મહાયાજકત્વપદે નિયુક્તઃ સન્ ઇદં ભવિષ્યદ્વાક્યં કથિતવાન્|
and not for the nation only but that also the children of God those scattered He may gather together into one.
53 તદ્દિનમારભ્ય તે કથં તં હન્તું શક્નુવન્તીતિ મન્ત્રણાં કર્ત્તું પ્રારેભિરે|
From that [very] therefore day (they plotted *N(k)O*) that they may kill Him.
54 અતએવ યિહૂદીયાનાં મધ્યે યીશુઃ સપ્રકાશં ગમનાગમને અકૃત્વા તસ્માદ્ ગત્વા પ્રાન્તરસ્ય સમીપસ્થાયિપ્રદેશસ્યેફ્રાયિમ્ નામ્નિ નગરે શિષ્યૈઃ સાકં કાલં યાપયિતું પ્રારેભે|
(*no*) Therefore Jesus no longer no longer publicly was walking among the Jews, but went away from there into the region near the wilderness to Ephraim being named a city, And there And there (He stayed *N(k)O*) with the disciples (of him. *k*)
55 અનન્તરં યિહૂદીયાનાં નિસ્તારોત્સવે નિકટવર્ત્તિનિ સતિ તદુત્સવાત્ પૂર્વ્વં સ્વાન્ શુચીન્ કર્ત્તું બહવો જના ગ્રામેભ્યો યિરૂશાલમ્ નગરમ્ આગચ્છન્,
Was now near the Passover of the Jews, and went up many to Jerusalem out of the region before the Passover so that they may purify themselves.
56 યીશોરન્વેષણં કૃત્વા મન્દિરે દણ્ડાયમાનાઃ સન્તઃ પરસ્પરં વ્યાહરન્, યુષ્માકં કીદૃશો બોધો જાયતે? સ કિમ્ ઉત્સવેઽસ્મિન્ અત્રાગમિષ્યતિ?
They were seeking therefore Jesus and were saying among one another in the temple already standing; What does it seem to you, that certainly not He may come to the feast?
57 સ ચ કુત્રાસ્તિ યદ્યેતત્ કશ્ચિદ્ વેત્તિ તર્હિ દર્શયતુ પ્રધાનયાજકાઃ ફિરૂશિનશ્ચ તં ધર્ત્તું પૂર્વ્વમ્ ઇમામ્ આજ્ઞાં પ્રાચારયન્|
Had given now (also *k*) the chief priests and the Pharisees (commands *N(K)O*) that if anyone shall know where He is he shall show [it], so that they may seize Him.
