૧ તીમથિયઃ 3
1 યદિ કશ્ચિદ્ અધ્યક્ષપદમ્ આકાઙ્ક્ષતે તર્હિ સ ઉત્તમં કર્મ્મ લિપ્સત ઇતિ સત્યં|
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 અતોઽધ્યક્ષેણાનિન્દિતેનૈકસ્યા યોષિતો ભર્ત્રા પરિમિતભોગેન સંયતમનસા સભ્યેનાતિથિસેવકેન શિક્ષણે નિપુણેન
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 ન મદ્યપેન ન પ્રહારકેણ કિન્તુ મૃદુભાવેન નિર્વ્વિવાદેન નિર્લોભેન
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 સ્વપરિવારાણામ્ ઉત્તમશાસકેન પૂર્ણવિનીતત્વાદ્ વશ્યાનાં સન્તાનાનાં નિયન્ત્રા ચ ભવિતવ્યં|
One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5 યત આત્મપરિવારાન્ શાસિતું યો ન શક્નોતિ તેનેશ્વરસ્ય સમિતેસ્તત્ત્વાવધારણં કથં કારિષ્યતે?
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the assembly of YHWH?)
6 અપરં સ ગર્વ્વિતો ભૂત્વા યત્ શયતાન ઇવ દણ્ડયોગ્યો ન ભવેત્ તદર્થં તેન નવશિષ્યેણ ન ભવિતવ્યં|
Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 યચ્ચ નિન્દાયાં શયતાનસ્ય જાલે ચ ન પતેત્ તદર્થં તેન બહિઃસ્થલોકાનામપિ મધ્યે સુખ્યાતિયુક્તેન ભવિતવ્યં|
Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8 તદ્વત્ પરિચારકૈરપિ વિનીતૈ ર્દ્વિવિધવાક્યરહિતૈ ર્બહુમદ્યપાને ઽનાસક્તૈ ર્નિર્લોભૈશ્ચ ભવિતવ્યં,
Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 નિર્મ્મલસંવેદેન ચ વિશ્વાસસ્ય નિગૂઢવાક્યં ધાતિવ્યઞ્ચ|
Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 અગ્રે તેષાં પરીક્ષા ક્રિયતાં તતઃ પરમ્ અનિન્દિતા ભૂત્વા તે પરિચર્ય્યાં કુર્વ્વન્તુ|
And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 અપરં યોષિદ્ભિરપિ વિનીતાભિરનપવાદિકાભિઃ સતર્કાભિઃ સર્વ્વત્ર વિશ્વાસ્યાભિશ્ચ ભવિતવ્યં|
Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12 પરિચારકા એકૈકયોષિતો ભર્ત્તારો ભવેયુઃ, નિજસન્તાનાનાં પરિજનાનાઞ્ચ સુશાસનં કુર્ય્યુશ્ચ|
Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 યતઃ સા પરિચર્ય્યા યૈ ર્ભદ્રરૂપેણ સાધ્યતે તે શ્રેષ્ઠપદં પ્રાપ્નુવન્તિ ખ્રીષ્ટે યીશૌ વિશ્વાસેન મહોત્સુકા ભવન્તિ ચ|
For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in the Messiah Yahushua.
14 ત્વાં પ્રત્યેતત્પત્રલેખનસમયે શીઘ્રં ત્વત્સમીપગમનસ્ય પ્રત્યાશા મમ વિદ્યતે|
These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
15 યદિ વા વિલમ્બેય તર્હીશ્વરસ્ય ગૃહે ઽર્થતઃ સત્યધર્મ્મસ્ય સ્તમ્ભભિત્તિમૂલસ્વરૂપાયામ્ અમરેશ્વરસ્ય સમિતૌ ત્વયા કીદૃશ આચારઃ કર્ત્તવ્યસ્તત્ જ્ઞાતું શક્ષ્યતે|
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of YHWH, which is the assembly of the living Elohim, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16 અપરં યસ્ય મહત્ત્વં સર્વ્વસ્વીકૃતમ્ ઈશ્વરભક્તેસ્તત્ નિગૂઢવાક્યમિદમ્ ઈશ્વરો માનવદેહે પ્રકાશિત આત્મના સપુણ્યીકૃતો દૂતૈઃ સન્દૃષ્ટઃ સર્વ્વજાતીયાનાં નિકટે ઘોષિતો જગતો વિશ્વાસપાત્રીભૂતસ્તેજઃપ્રાપ્તયે સ્વર્ગં નીતશ્ચેતિ|
And without controversy great is the mystery of reverence: who was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
