૧ તીમથિયઃ 1

1 અસ્માકં ત્રાણકર્ત્તુરીશ્વરસ્યાસ્માકં પ્રત્યાશાભૂમેઃ પ્રભો ર્યીશુખ્રીષ્ટસ્ય ચાજ્ઞાનુસારતો યીશુખ્રીષ્ટસ્ય પ્રેરિતઃ પૌલઃ સ્વકીયં સત્યં ધર્મ્મપુત્રં તીમથિયં પ્રતિ પત્રં લિખતિ|

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the appointment of God our Savior, and the Lord Jesus Christ our hope,

2 અસ્માકં તાત ઈશ્વરોઽસ્માકં પ્રભુ ર્યીશુખ્રીષ્ટશ્ચ ત્વયિ અનુગ્રહં દયાં શાન્તિઞ્ચ કુર્ય્યાસ્તાં|

to Timothy, my true son in the faith; grace, mercy, peace from God our Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 માકિદનિયાદેશે મમ ગમનકાલે ત્વમ્ ઇફિષનગરે તિષ્ઠન્ ઇતરશિક્ષા ન ગ્રહીતવ્યા, અનન્તેષૂપાખ્યાનેષુ વંશાવલિષુ ચ યુષ્માભિ ર્મનો ન નિવેશિતવ્યમ્

As, on going into Macedonia, I besought you to remain in Ephesus, that you might charge some that they teach no other thing,

4 ઇતિ કાંશ્ચિત્ લોકાન્ યદ્ ઉપદિશેરેતત્ મયાદિષ્ટોઽભવઃ, યતઃ સર્વ્વૈરેતૈ ર્વિશ્વાસયુક્તેશ્વરીયનિષ્ઠા ન જાયતે કિન્તુ વિવાદો જાયતે|

nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which produce disputes rather than godly edification, which is in faith;

5 ઉપદેશસ્ય ત્વભિપ્રેતં ફલં નિર્મ્મલાન્તઃકરણેન સત્સંવેદેન નિષ્કપટવિશ્વાસેન ચ યુક્તં પ્રેમ|

(Now the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and out of a good conscience, and out of faith unfeigned:

6 કેચિત્ જનાશ્ચ સર્વ્વાણ્યેતાનિ વિહાય નિરર્થકકથાનામ્ અનુગમનેન વિપથગામિનોઽભવન્,

which things some not having aimed at, have turned aside to idle disputation,

7 યદ્ ભાષન્તે યચ્ચ નિશ્ચિન્વન્તિ તન્ન બુધ્યમાના વ્યવસ્થોપદેષ્ટારો ભવિતુમ્ ઇચ્છન્તિ|

desiring to be teachers of law, though understanding neither what they say nor of what they boldly affirm.

8 સા વ્યવસ્થા યદિ યોગ્યરૂપેણ ગૃહ્યતે તર્હ્યુત્તમા ભવતીતિ વયં જાનીમઃ|

But we know that the law is good, if any one use it lawfully;

9 અપરં સા વ્યવસ્થા ધાર્મ્મિકસ્ય વિરુદ્ધા ન ભવતિ કિન્ત્વધાર્મ્મિકો ઽવાધ્યો દુષ્ટઃ પાપિષ્ઠો ઽપવિત્રો ઽશુચિઃ પિતૃહન્તા માતૃહન્તા નરહન્તા

knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and for scorners, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for man-slayers,

10 વેશ્યાગામી પુંમૈથુની મનુષ્યવિક્રેતા મિથ્યાવાદી મિથ્યાશપથકારી ચ સર્વ્વેષામેતેષાં વિરુદ્ધા,

for lewd persons, for sodomites, for men-stealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and for whatever other thing is opposed to sound teaching,

11 તથા સચ્ચિદાનન્દેશ્વરસ્ય યો વિભવયુક્તઃ સુસંવાદો મયિ સમર્પિતસ્તદનુયાયિહિતોપદેશસ્ય વિપરીતં યત્ કિઞ્ચિદ્ ભવતિ તદ્વિરુદ્ધા સા વ્યવસ્થેતિ તદ્ગ્રાહિણા જ્ઞાતવ્યં|

according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which has been intrusted to me.

12 મહ્યં શક્તિદાતા યોઽસ્માકં પ્રભુઃ ખ્રીષ્ટયીશુસ્તમહં ધન્યં વદામિ|

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me power, because he counted me faithful, and put me into the ministry;

13 યતઃ પુરા નિન્દક ઉપદ્રાવી હિંસકશ્ચ ભૂત્વાપ્યહં તેન વિશ્વાસ્યો ઽમન્યે પરિચારકત્વે ન્યયુજ્યે ચ| તદ્ અવિશ્વાસાચરણમ્ અજ્ઞાનેન મયા કૃતમિતિ હેતોરહં તેનાનુકમ્પિતોઽભવં|

me, I say, who before was a reviler and a persecutor and an overbearing man. But I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief:

14 અપરં ખ્રીષ્ટે યીશૌ વિશ્વાસપ્રેમભ્યાં સહિતોઽસ્મત્પ્રભોરનુગ્રહો ઽતીવ પ્રચુરોઽભત્|

and the grace of our Lord was very abundant with faith, and love which is in Christ Jesus.

15 પાપિનઃ પરિત્રાતું ખ્રીષ્ટો યીશુ ર્જગતિ સમવતીર્ણોઽભવત્, એષા કથા વિશ્વાસનીયા સર્વ્વૈ ગ્રહણીયા ચ|

Assuredly true and worthy of all acceptation is this saying: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

16 તેષાં પાપિનાં મધ્યેઽહં પ્રથમ આસં કિન્તુ યે માનવા અનન્તજીવનપ્રાપ્ત્યર્થં તસ્મિન્ વિશ્વસિષ્યન્તિ તેષાં દૃષ્ટાન્તે મયિ પ્રથમે યીશુના ખ્રીષ્ટેન સ્વકીયા કૃત્સ્ના ચિરસહિષ્ણુતા યત્ પ્રકાશ્યતે તદર્થમેવાહમ્ અનુકમ્પાં પ્રાપ્તવાન્| (aiōnios g166)

But for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all long-suffering, for an example to those who might afterward believe on him in order to life eternal. (aiōnios g166)

17 અનાદિરક્ષયોઽદૃશ્યો રાજા યોઽદ્વિતીયઃ સર્વ્વજ્ઞ ઈશ્વરસ્તસ્ય ગૌરવં મહિમા ચાનન્તકાલં યાવદ્ ભૂયાત્| આમેન્| (aiōn g165)

Now to the King of the ages, the incorruptible, invisible, only wise God, be honor and glory from age to age. Amen.) (aiōn g165)

18 હે પુત્ર તીમથિય ત્વયિ યાનિ ભવિષ્યદ્વાક્યાનિ પુરા કથિતાનિ તદનુસારાદ્ અહમ્ એનમાદેશં ત્વયિ સમર્પયામિ, તસ્યાભિપ્રાયોઽયં યત્ત્વં તૈ ર્વાક્યૈરુત્તમયુદ્ધં કરોષિ

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, in accordance with the preceding prophecies concerning you, that by them you may war the good warfare,

19 વિશ્વાસં સત્સંવેદઞ્ચ ધારયસિ ચ| અનયોઃ પરિત્યાગાત્ કેષાઞ્ચિદ્ વિશ્વાસતરી ભગ્નાભવત્|

holding faith and a good conscience, which some having thrust from them, as it respects faith have made shipwreck; of whom are Hymenæus and Alexander,

20 હુમિનાયસિકન્દરૌ તેષાં યૌ દ્વૌ જનૌ, તૌ યદ્ ધર્મ્મનિન્દાં પુન ર્ન કર્ત્તું શિક્ષેતે તદર્થં મયા શયતાનસ્ય કરે સમર્પિતૌ|

whom I have delivered to Satan, that they may learn not to revile.
