1 yat prakAzitaM vAkyam IzvaraH svadAsAnAM nikaTaM zIghramupasthAsyantInAM ghaTanAnAM darzanArthaM yIzukhrISTE samarpitavAn tat sa svIyadUtaM prESya nijasEvakaM yOhanaM jnjApitavAn|
This is the Revelation of Yeshua Meshikha, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, Yukhanan,
2 sa cEzvarasya vAkyE khrISTasya sAkSyE ca yadyad dRSTavAn tasya pramANaM dattavAn|
who testified to God's word, and of the testimony of Yeshua Meshikha, about everything that he saw.
3 Etasya bhaviSyadvaktRgranthasya vAkyAnAM pAThakaH zrOtArazca tanmadhyE likhitAjnjAgrAhiNazca dhanyA yataH sa kAlaH sannikaTaH|
Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is near.
4 yOhan AziyAdEzasthAH sapta samitIH prati patraM likhati| yO varttamAnO bhUtO bhaviSyaMzca yE ca saptAtmAnastasya siMhAsanasya sammukhE tiSThanti
Yukhanan, to the seven congregations that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from him who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;
5 yazca yIzukhrISTO vizvastaH sAkSI mRtAnAM madhyE prathamajAtO bhUmaNPalastharAjAnAm adhipatizca bhavati, EtEbhyO 'nugrahaH zAntizca yuSmAsu varttatAM|
and from Yeshua Meshikha, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and freed us from our sins by his blood;
6 yO 'smAsu prItavAn svarudhirENAsmAn svapApEbhyaH prakSAlitavAn tasya piturIzvarasya yAjakAn kRtvAsmAn rAjavargE niyuktavAMzca tasmin mahimA parAkramazcAnantakAlaM yAvad varttatAM| AmEn| (aiōn g165)
and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
7 pazyata sa mEghairAgacchati tEnaikaikasya cakSustaM drakSyati yE ca taM viddhavantastE 'pi taM vilOkiSyantE tasya kRtE pRthivIsthAH sarvvE vaMzA vilapiSyanti| satyam AmEn|
Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.
8 varttamAnO bhUtO bhaviSyaMzca yaH sarvvazaktimAn prabhuH paramEzvaraH sa gadati, ahamEva kaH kSazcArthata Adirantazca|
"I am the Alaph and the Tau," says the Lord God of hosts, "who is and who was and who is to come."
9 yuSmAkaM bhrAtA yIzukhrISTasya klEzarAjyatitikSANAM sahabhAgI cAhaM yOhan Izvarasya vAkyahEtO ryIzukhrISTasya sAkSyahEtOzca pAtmanAmaka upadvIpa AsaM|
I Yukhanan, your brother and fellow-partner with you in persecution, Kingdom, and patient endurance in Yeshua, was on the island that is called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Yeshua.
10 tatra prabhO rdinE AtmanAviSTO 'haM svapazcAt tUrIdhvanivat mahAravam azrauSaM,
I was in the Rukha on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like a trumpet
11 tEnOktam, ahaM kaH kSazcArthata Adirantazca| tvaM yad drakSyasi tad granthE likhitvAziyAdEzasthAnAM sapta samitInAM samIpam iphiSaM smurNAM thuyAtIrAM sArddiM philAdilphiyAM lAyadIkEyAnjca prESaya|
saying, "What you see, write on a scroll and send to the seven congregations: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
12 tatO mayA sambhASamANasya kasya ravaH zrUyatE taddarzanArthaM mukhaM parAvarttitaM tat parAvartya svarNamayAH sapta dIpavRkSA dRSTAH|
I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. Having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands.
13 tESAM sapta dIpavRkSANAM madhyE dIrghaparicchadaparihitaH suvarNazRgkhalEna vESTitavakSazca manuSyaputrAkRtirEkO janastiSThati,
And among the lampstands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest.
14 tasya ziraH kEzazca zvEtamESalOmAnIva himavat zrEtau lOcanE vahnizikhAsamE
His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire.
15 caraNau vahnikuNPEtApitasupittalasadRzau ravazca bahutOyAnAM ravatulyaH|
His feet were like burnished bronze, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters.
16 tasya dakSiNahastE sapta tArA vidyantE vaktrAcca tIkSNO dvidhAraH khaggO nirgacchati mukhamaNPalanjca svatEjasA dEdIpyamAnasya sUryyasya sadRzaM|
He had seven stars in his right hand. Out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at its brightest.
17 taM dRSTvAhaM mRtakalpastaccaraNE patitastataH svadakSiNakaraM mayi nidhAya tEnOktam mA bhaiSIH; aham Adirantazca|
When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last,
18 aham amarastathApi mRtavAn kintu pazyAham anantakAlaM yAvat jIvAmi| AmEn| mRtyOH paralOkasya ca kunjjikA mama hastagatAH| (aiōn g165, Hadēs g86)
and the Living one. I was dead, but look, I am alive forevermore. I have the keys of Death and of Sheyul. (aiōn g165, Hadēs g86)
19 atO yad bhavati yaccEtaH paraM bhaviSyati tvayA dRSTaM tat sarvvaM likhyatAM|
Write therefore the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will happen hereafter;
20 mama dakSiNahastE sthitA yAH sapta tArA yE ca svarNamayAH sapta dIpavRkSAstvayA dRSTAstattAtparyyamidaM tAH sapta tArAH sapta samitInAM dUtAH suvarNamayAH sapta dIpavRkSAzca sapta samitayaH santi|
the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven congregations. The seven lampstands are seven congregations.
