1 manuSyEbhyO nahi manuSyairapi nahi kintu yIzukhrISTEna mRtagaNamadhyAt tasyOtthApayitrA pitrEzvarENa ca prEritO yO'haM paulaH sO'haM
Paul, an apostle (not from humans, nor through humans, but through Yeshua Meshikha, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead),
2 matsahavarttinO bhrAtarazca vayaM gAlAtIyadEzasthAH samitIH prati patraM likhAmaH|
and all the brothers who are with me, to the congregations of Galatia:
3 pitrEzvarENAsmAMka prabhunA yIzunA khrISTEna ca yuSmabhyam anugrahaH zAntizca dIyatAM|
Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Yeshua Meshikha,
4 asmAkaM tAtEzvarEsyEcchAnusArENa varttamAnAt kutsitasaMsArAd asmAn nistArayituM yO (aiōn g165)
who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father? (aiōn g165)
5 yIzurasmAkaM pApahEtOrAtmOtsargaM kRtavAn sa sarvvadA dhanyO bhUyAt| tathAstu| (aiōn g165)
to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 khrISTasyAnugrahENa yO yuSmAn AhUtavAn tasmAnnivRtya yUyam atitUrNam anyaM susaMvAdam anvavarttata tatrAhaM vismayaM manyE|
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you by the grace of Meshikha to a different "good news";
7 sO'nyasusaMvAdaH susaMvAdO nahi kintu kEcit mAnavA yuSmAn canjcalIkurvvanti khrISTIyasusaMvAdasya viparyyayaM karttuM cESTantE ca|
and there is not another "good news." Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Meshikha.
8 yuSmAkaM sannidhau yaH susaMvAdO'smAbhi rghOSitastasmAd anyaH susaMvAdO'smAkaM svargIyadUtAnAM vA madhyE kEnacid yadi ghOSyatE tarhi sa zaptO bhavatu|
But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a "good news" other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.
9 pUrvvaM yadvad akathayAma, idAnImahaM punastadvat kathayAmi yUyaM yaM susaMvAdaM gRhItavantastasmAd anyO yEna kEnacid yuSmatsannidhau ghOSyatE sa zaptO bhavatu|
As we have said before, so I now say again: if anyone preaches to you a "good news" other than that which you received, let him be cursed.
10 sAmprataM kamaham anunayAmi? IzvaraM kiMvA mAnavAn? ahaM kiM mAnuSEbhyO rOcituM yatE? yadyaham idAnImapi mAnuSEbhyO ruruciSEya tarhi khrISTasya paricArakO na bhavAmi|
For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? For if I were still pleasing people, I would not be a servant of Meshikha.
11 hE bhrAtaraH, mayA yaH susaMvAdO ghOSitaH sa mAnuSAnna labdhastadahaM yuSmAn jnjApayAmi|
But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Good News which was preached by me, that it is not of human origin.
12 ahaM kasmAccit manuSyAt taM na gRhItavAn na vA zikSitavAn kEvalaM yIzOH khrISTasya prakAzanAdEva|
For neither did I receive it from a human, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Yeshua Meshikha.
13 purA yihUdimatAcArI yadAham AsaM tadA yAdRzam AcaraNam akaravam Izvarasya samitiM pratyatIvOpadravaM kurvvan yAdRk tAM vyanAzayaM tadavazyaM zrutaM yuSmAbhiH|
For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how I severely persecuted the church of God, and tried to destroy it.
14 aparanjca pUrvvapuruSaparamparAgatESu vAkyESvanyApEkSAtIvAsaktaH san ahaM yihUdidharmmatE mama samavayaskAn bahUn svajAtIyAn atyazayi|
I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
15 kinjca ya IzvarO mAtRgarbhasthaM mAM pRthak kRtvA svIyAnugrahENAhUtavAn
But when God, who had set me apart from my mother's womb and called me through his grace, was pleased
16 sa yadA mayi svaputraM prakAzituM bhinnadEzIyAnAM samIpE bhayA taM ghOSayitunjcAbhyalaSat tadAhaM kravyazONitAbhyAM saha na mantrayitvA
to reveal his Son to me, that I might preach him among those who are not Jewish, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,
17 pUrvvaniyuktAnAM prEritAnAM samIpaM yirUzAlamaM na gatvAravadEzaM gatavAn pazcAt tatsthAnAd dammESakanagaraM parAvRtyAgatavAn|
nor did I go up to Urishlim to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus.
18 tataH paraM varSatrayE vyatItE'haM pitaraM sambhASituM yirUzAlamaM gatvA panjcadazadinAni tEna sArddham atiSThaM|
Then after three years I went up to Urishlim to see Kipha and get information from him, and stayed with him fifteen days.
19 kintu taM prabhO rbhrAtaraM yAkUbanjca vinA prEritAnAM nAnyaM kamapyapazyaM|
But of the other apostles I saw no one, except Yaquv, the Lord's brother.
20 yAnyEtAni vAkyAni mayA likhyantE tAnyanRtAni na santi tad IzvarO jAnAti|
Now about the things which I write to you, look, before God, I'm not lying.
21 tataH param ahaM suriyAM kilikiyAnjca dEzau gatavAn|
Then I came to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 tadAnIM yihUdAdEzasthAnAM khrISTasya samitInAM lOkAH sAkSAt mama paricayamaprApya kEvalaM janazrutimimAM labdhavantaH,
I was still unknown by face to the congregations of Yehuda which were in Meshikha,
23 yO janaH pUrvvam asmAn pratyupadravamakarOt sa tadA yaM dharmmamanAzayat tamEvEdAnIM pracArayatIti|
but they only heard: "He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy."
24 tasmAt tE mAmadhIzvaraM dhanyamavadan|
And they glorified God because of me.
