1 yadi yUyaM khrISTEna sArddham utthApitA abhavata tarhi yasmin sthAnE khrISTa Izvarasya dakSiNapArzvE upaviSTa AstE tasyOrddhvasthAnasya viSayAn cESTadhvaM|
If then you were raised together with Meshikha, seek the things that are above, where Meshikha is, seated on the right hand of God.
2 pArthivaviSayESu na yatamAnA UrddhvasthaviSayESu yatadhvaM|
Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.
3 yatO yUyaM mRtavantO yuSmAkaM jIvitanjca khrISTEna sArddham IzvarE guptam asti|
For you died, and your life is hidden with Meshikha in God.
4 asmAkaM jIvanasvarUpaH khrISTO yadA prakAziSyatE tadA tEna sArddhaM yUyamapi vibhavEna prakAziSyadhvE|
When Meshikha, your life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.
5 atO vEzyAgamanam azucikriyA rAgaH kutsitAbhilASO dEvapUjAtulyO lObhazcaitAni rpAthavapuruSasyAggAni yuSmAbhi rnihanyantAM|
Put to death, therefore, whatever is worldly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
6 yata EtEbhyaH karmmabhya AjnjAlagghinO lOkAn pratIzvarasya krOdhO varttatE|
Because of these, the wrath of God is coming on the children of disobedience.
7 pUrvvaM yadA yUyaM tAnyupAjIvata tadA yUyamapi tAnyEvAcarata;
You also once walked in those, when you lived in them;
8 kintvidAnIM krOdhO rOSO jihiMsiSA durmukhatA vadananirgatakadAlapazcaitAni sarvvANi dUrIkurudhvaM|
but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
9 yUyaM parasparaM mRSAkathAM na vadata yatO yUyaM svakarmmasahitaM purAtanapuruSaM tyaktavantaH
Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices,
10 svasraSTuH pratimUrtyA tattvajnjAnAya nUtanIkRtaM navInapuruSaM parihitavantazca|
and have put on the new self, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,
11 tEna ca yihUdibhinnajAtIyayOzchinnatvagacchinnatvacO rmlEcchaskuthIyayO rdAsamuktayOzca kO'pi vizESO nAsti kintu sarvvESu sarvvaH khrISTa EvAstE|
where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, freeman; but Meshikha is all, and in all.
12 ataEva yUyam Izvarasya manObhilaSitAH pavitrAH priyAzca lOkA iva snEhayuktAm anukampAM hitaiSitAM namratAM titikSAM sahiSNutAnjca paridhaddhvaM|
Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, gentleness, humility, and patience;
13 yUyam EkaikasyAcaraNaM sahadhvaM yEna ca yasya kimapyaparAdhyatE tasya taM dOSaM sa kSamatAM, khrISTO yuSmAkaM dOSAn yadvad kSamitavAn yUyamapi tadvat kurudhvaM|
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as the Lord forgave you, so you also do.
14 vizESataH siddhijanakEna prEmabandhanEna baddhA bhavata|
Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 yasyAH prAptayE yUyam Ekasmin zarIrE samAhUtA abhavata sEzvarIyA zAnti ryuSmAkaM manAMsyadhitiSThatu yUyanjca kRtajnjA bhavata|
And let the peace of Meshikha rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 khrISTasya vAkyaM sarvvavidhajnjAnAya sampUrNarUpENa yuSmadantarE nivamatu, yUyanjca gItai rgAnaiH pAramArthikasagkIrttanaizca parasparam Adizata prabOdhayata ca, anugRhItatvAt prabhum uddizya svamanObhi rgAyata ca|
Let the word of Meshikha dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to God.
17 vAcA karmmaNA vA yad yat kuruta tat sarvvaM prabhO ryIzO rnAmnA kuruta tEna pitaram IzvaraM dhanyaM vadata ca|
Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.
18 hE yOSitaH, yUyaM svAminAM vazyA bhavata yatastadEva prabhavE rOcatE|
Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 hE svAminaH, yUyaM bhAryyAsu prIyadhvaM tAH prati paruSAlApaM mA kurudhvaM|
Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them.
20 hE bAlAH, yUyaM sarvvaviSayE pitrOrAjnjAgrAhiNO bhavata yatastadEva prabhOH santOSajanakaM|
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.
21 hE pitaraH, yuSmAkaM santAnA yat kAtarA na bhavEyustadarthaM tAn prati mA rOSayata|
Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged.
22 hE dAsAH, yUyaM sarvvaviSaya aihikaprabhUnAm AjnjAgrAhiNO bhavata dRSTigOcarIyasEvayA mAnavEbhyO rOcituM mA yatadhvaM kintu saralAntaHkaraNaiH prabhO rbhAtyA kAryyaM kurudhvaM|
Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as people-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord.
23 yacca kurudhvE tat mAnuSamanuddizya prabhum uddizya praphullamanasA kurudhvaM,
And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for people,
24 yatO vayaM prabhutaH svargAdhikArarUpaM phalaM lapsyAmaha iti yUyaM jAnItha yasmAd yUyaM prabhOH khrISTasya dAsA bhavatha|
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Meshikha.
25 kintu yaH kazcid anucitaM karmma karOti sa tasyAnucitakarmmaNaH phalaM lapsyatE tatra kO'pi pakSapAtO na bhaviSyati|
But he who does wrong will receive again for the wrong that he has done, and there is no partiality.
