1 yuSmAkamEkasya janasyAparENa saha vivAdE jAtE sa pavitralOkai rvicAramakArayan kim adhArmmikalOkai rvicArayituM prOtsahatE?

If any of you has a dispute against another, does he dare go to court before the unrighteous, instead of the saints?

2 jagatO'pi vicAraNaM pavitralOkaiH kAriSyata Etad yUyaM kiM na jAnItha? atO jagad yadi yuSmAbhi rvicArayitavyaM tarhi kSudratamavicArESu yUyaM kimasamarthAH?

Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 dUtA apyasmAbhi rvicArayiSyanta iti kiM na jAnItha? ata aihikaviSayAH kim asmAbhi rna vicArayitavyA bhavEyuH?

Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

4 aihikaviSayasya vicArE yuSmAbhiH karttavyE yE lOkAH samitau kSudratamAsta Eva niyujyantAM|

If then, you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who have no standing in the church?

5 ahaM yuSmAn trapayitumicchan vadAmi yRSmanmadhyE kimEkO'pi manuSyastAdRg buddhimAnnahi yO bhrAtRvivAdavicAraNE samarthaH syAt?

I say this to move you to shame. Is not there even one wise person among you who would be able to decide between a brother and his brother?

6 kinjcaikO bhrAtA bhrAtrAnyEna kimavizvAsinAM vicArakANAM sAkSAd vivadatE? yaSmanmadhyE vivAdA vidyanta Etadapi yuSmAkaM dOSaH|

But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers.

7 yUyaM kutO'nyAyasahanaM kSatisahanaM vA zrEyO na manyadhvE?

Actually, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits among yourselves. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

8 kintu yUyamapi bhrAtRnEva pratyanyAyaM kSatinjca kurutha kimEtat?

No, but you yourselves do wrong, and cheat, and that against your brothers.

9 Izvarasya rAjyE'nyAyakAriNAM lOkAnAmadhikArO nAstyEtad yUyaM kiM na jAnItha? mA vanjcyadhvaM, yE vyabhicAriNO dEvArccinaH pAradArikAH strIvadAcAriNaH puMmaithunakAriNastaskarA

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor men who have sexual relations with men,

10 lObhinO madyapA nindakA upadrAviNO vA ta Izvarasya rAjyabhAginO na bhaviSyanti|

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

11 yUyanjcaivaMvidhA lOkA Asta kintu prabhO ryIzO rnAmnAsmadIzvarasyAtmanA ca yUyaM prakSAlitAH pAvitAH sapuNyIkRtAzca|

Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Yeshua Meshikha, and in the Rukha of our God.

12 madarthaM sarvvaM dravyam apratiSiddhaM kintu na sarvvaM hitajanakaM|madarthaM sarvvamapratiSiddhaM tathApyahaM kasyApi dravyasya vazIkRtO na bhaviSyAmi|

"All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything.

13 udarAya bhakSyANi bhakSyEbhyazcOdaraM, kintu bhakSyOdarE IzvarENa nAzayiSyEtE; aparaM dEhO na vyabhicArAya kintu prabhavE prabhuzca dEhAya|

14 yazcEzvaraH prabhumutthApitavAn sa svazaktyAsmAnapyutthApayiSyati|

15 yuSmAkaM yAni zarIrANi tAni khrISTasyAggAnIti kiM yUyaM na jAnItha? ataH khrISTasya yAnyaggAni tAni mayApahRtya vEzyAyA aggAni kiM kAriSyantE? tanna bhavatu|

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Meshikha? Shall I then take the members of Meshikha, and make them members of a prostitute? Absolutely not.

16 yaH kazcid vEzyAyAm AsajyatE sa tayA sahaikadEhO bhavati kiM yUyamEtanna jAnItha? yatO likhitamAstE, yathA, tau dvau janAvEkAggau bhaviSyataH|

Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For he says, "The two will become one flesh."

17 mAnavA yAnyanyAni kaluSANi kurvvatE tAni vapu rna samAvizanti kintu vyabhicAriNA svavigrahasya viruddhaM kalmaSaM kriyatE|

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

18 mAnavA yAnyanyAni kaluSANi kurvvatE tAni vapu rna samAvizanti kintu vyabhicAriNA svavigrahasya viruddhaM kalmaSaM kriyatE|

Flee sexual immorality. "Every sin that a person does is outside the body," but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

19 yuSmAkaM yAni vapUMsi tAni yuSmadantaHsthitasyEzvarAllabdhasya pavitrasyAtmanO mandirANi yUyanjca svESAM svAminO nAdhvE kimEtad yuSmAbhi rna jnjAyatE?

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Rukha d'Qudsha which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own,

20 yUyaM mUlyEna krItA atO vapurmanObhyAm IzvarO yuSmAbhiH pUjyatAM yata Izvara Eva tayOH svAmI|

for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
