Matthew 7
1 “Mi chungroi jêk no ungla, Pathien'n nin chungroi jêk no nih,
'Judge not, that ye may not be judged,
2 mi chungroi nin jêk angdênin Pathien'n nin chungroi jêk a ta, male midangngei chunga balam nin mang anghan nin chunga khom a mang rang ani.
for in what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you.
3 Hanchu, ithomo ni mita thingbong om hah mindon loiin nu sûngsuok mita ronok chînte om hah nu mu hi?
'And why dost thou behold the mote that [is] in thy brother's eye, and the beam that [is] in thine own eye dost not consider?
4 Inmo ni mita thingbong om chienin nu sûngsuok kôm, ‘Rangâihoitakin, ni mita ronok chînte hah nang pai pe rong,’ ni ti ngam?
or, how wilt thou say to thy brother, Suffer I may cast out the mote from thine eye, and lo, the beam [is] in thine own eye?
5 Nangma asarothol! Ni mita thingbong hah pai bak inla, hanchu, nu sûngsuok mita ronok chînte aom pai rangin ânthârlakin mu thei ni tih.
Hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then thou shalt see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6 “Uingei kôm neinun inthieng hah pêk no ungla, hong inhei an ta nangni pêt an tih. Vokngei makunga khom nin lungmantam hah vôr no roi, an kên chîlpol an tih.”
'Ye may not give that which is [holy] to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, that they may not trample them among their feet, and having turned — may rend you.
7 “Zong ungla pêkin om nin tih, rok ungla man nin tih; tôk roi, inkhâr nangni mo-ong pe nîng atih.
'Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you;
8 Tukhom a zong kai chu pêk nîng an ta, a rok kaiin chu man an ta, a tôk kai chu inkhâr mo ong pe nîng atih.
for every one who is asking doth receive, and he who is seeking doth find, and to him who is knocking it shall be opened.
9 Nangni pangei lâia tukhomin nin nâingei vâipôl nangni zong senla ngei, lung nin pêk rang mini?
'Or what man is of you, of whom, if his son may ask a loaf — a stone will he present to him?
10 Aninônchu, nga nangni zong senla ngei, murûl nin pêk rang mini?
and if a fish he may ask — a serpent will he present to him?
11 Nangni misie ngeiin luo nin nâingei neinun sa pêk nin rietin te, invâna nin Pa vângin chu a zongngei kôm neinun sa a pêk mintam bâk rang na!
if, therefore, ye being evil, have known good gifts to give to your children, how much more shall your Father who [is] in the heavens give good things to those asking him?
12 “Mîn nin chunga an sin rang nin nuom tak hah mi chunga khom sin roi: mahi Moses Balam le dêipungei minchûna omtie chu ani.”
'All things, therefore, whatever ye may will that men may be doing to you, so also do to them, for this is the law and the prophets.
13 “Mokot ân-epa han lût roi, meidîl mokot chu ânzara, a lampui khom ahoia, a se khom tamtak an ni sikin.
'Go ye in through the strait gate, because wide [is] the gate, and broad the way that is leading to the destruction, and many are those going in through it;
14 Aniatachu ringna mokot chu ân-epa, asena lampui khom ântaka, aman ngei khom mi tômte an ni.”
how strait [is] the gate, and compressed the way that is leading to the life, and few are those finding it!
15 “Dêipu dikloingei renga indîn roi; pêntieng chu belri angin nin kôm an honga, ania an sûngtieng chu melangngei tatak angin an ni.
'But, take heed of the false prophets, who come unto you in sheep's clothing, and inwardly are ravening wolves.
16 Ma ngei hah chu an sinthoa riet kelen nin tih. Riling rângngei han grape inra ngâi maka, riling kungngeia khom theichangngei inrâ ngâi maka.
From their fruits ye shall know them; do [men] gather from thorns grapes? or from thistles figs?
17 Thingkung asa chu amara khom asa ngâi, thingkung saloi chu amara khom asiet ngâi ani.
so every good tree doth yield good fruits, but the bad tree doth yield evil fruits.
18 Thingkung adamin chu amara siet ngâi maka, thingkung adamloiin chu amara sa ngâi mak ani.
A good tree is not able to yield evil fruits, nor a bad tree to yield good fruits.
19 Thingkung murdi amara saloi chu an phûra meia an vôrpai ngâi.
Every tree not yielding good fruit is cut down and is cast to fire:
20 Masikin dêipu dikloingei chu an sinthoa riet thei nin tih.
therefore from their fruits ye shall know them.
21 “Pumapa, Pumapa, mi ti papai murdi invân Rêngrama lût noni ngeia, invâna ka Pa lungdo sinngei kai kêng an lût rang ani.
'Not every one who is saying to me Lord, lord, shall come into the reign of the heavens; but he who is doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens.
22 Roijêk Nikhuo ahong tungin chu mi tamtakin, ‘Pumapa, Pumapa! Ni rimingin Pathien thurchi kin misîr ngâia, ramkhoringei kin rujûl ngâia, sininkhêl khom mun tamtaka kin sin ngâi!’ la tîng an tih.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, lord, have we not in thy name prophesied? and in thy name cast out demons? and in thy name done many mighty things?
23 Ma tikin chu keiman an kôm, ‘Nangni riet tet ngâi mu-ung. Ko kôm renga rotpai roi, nangni misiengei!’ la tîng ki tih.
and then I will acknowledge to them, that — I never knew you, depart from me ye who are working lawlessness.
24 “Masikin tukhomin hi ko chongngei hih a rieta jôm chu mivâr lungpui chunga in sinpu angin ani.
'Therefore, every one who doth hear of me these words, and doth do them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock;
25 Ruo ajuonga, tui ahong liena, phâivuo ahong râta, ma in hah ahong nama. Aniatachu inlet mak, lungpui chunga sin ani sikin.
and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock.
26 “Hannirese, tukhom hi ko chongngei a rieta, jômloi chu amo sietsâi chunga in sin angin ani.
'And every one who is hearing of me these words, and is not doing them, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand;
27 Ruo ajuonga, tui ahong liena, phâivuo ahong râta, ma in hah ahong nama, ânleta. Ânlet tie khom ana sabak ani!”
and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.'
28 Jisua'n ma neinunngei hah a misîr suole chu loko ngeiin a minchuna hah an kamâm sabak ani.
And it came to pass, when Jesus ended these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching,
29 Ama chu Balam minchupungei angin niloiin; manêkin chu, rachamneina leh mi a minchu ani.
for he was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
