< Matthew 3 >
1 Ma zora han Baptispu John, Judea ramchâra a honga male tânghâi a phuta,
In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 “Nin nunsienangei renga inhei ta roi, Invân Rêngram anâi zoi,” a tia.
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 John hih ani, Dêipu Isaiah'n: “Ramchâra mi inkhat tânghâi han, ‘Pumapa rang lamlien sin ungla, a lôna rang lampui khom mintûn roi!’” tia a chungroi a lei misîr hah ani.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of YHWH, make his paths straight.
4 John a puonsilngei hah ût mula sin ania, savun kongkhit a khita, a sâk ngâi chu khâimimsiengei le rama khuoilutui ani.
And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Jerusalem renga, Judea ramhuol pumpui renga, le Jordan tuidung revêla ramtin renga mingei a kôm an honga.
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6 An nunsienangei an phuonga, male ama'n Jordan tuidunga a Baptis ngei zoi.
And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 John'n Phariseengei le Sadduceengei tamtak a kôm Baptis chang rangin an hong a mu lehan an kôm, “Murûl richingei, Pathien sepna juong chulna rang renga hih rotpai theina rangin tumo nangni ril?
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Nin sietna renga nin inhei zoi ti riettheina rangin sinngei hah tho roi.
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
9 Male Abraham richisuonpârngei kêng kin ni tiin sepna renga rotpai thei rangin mindon no roi. Nangni ki ril, Pathien'n hi lungngei khom hih Abraham richisuonpârngei a min chang thei!
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that Elohim is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 Thingkungngei a ruzung renga phûr rangin reipui min râkchien sai kêng ani zoi; thingkung murdi mara sân ânra loi kai chu phûr an ta, meia vôrpai an tih.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
11 Keima'n chu nin insîr zoi ti rietna rangin tuiin nangni ka Baptis ngâia, aniatachu ku nûka juong rangpu'n chu Ratha Inthieng le meiin nangni baptis a tih. Ama chu keima nêka roiinpui uol ok ani; keima chu a kekok chôi rangin luo inhoi mu-ung.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:
12 Bungei jâpna rangin relei a dôna, a ruijôl jâp minsâi liei a ta, a butakngei kai chu sapang sûnga thun a ta, arishi chu mei thithei ngâiloia hâl minmang a tih,” a tia.
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
13 Ma zora lâihan John kôm Baptis chang rangin Jisua'n Galilee ram renga Jordan dunga a honga,
Then cometh Yahushua from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 Aniatachu, John'n khap rang a bôka, a kôm, “Nangman kêng mi ni Baptis anânga,” John'n, “kho angin mo ko kôm te no honga!” a tia.
But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 Hannirese Jisua'n a kôm, “Atûn hin asa ti chien roh. Ma angdênin Pathien'n a minnângngei murdi chu ei tho rang ani,” tiin a thuona. Hanchu John a jôt zoi ani.
And Yahushua answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 Jisua Baptis a chang suo, harenghan, tui renga a hong jôka. Hanchu ama rangin invân ajuon onga, male Pathien Ratha hah vasu angin a juongchuma a chunga chuongin a mua.
And Yahushua, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of Elohim descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 Hanchu, invân renga rôl ajuon ringa, “Mahih ka Nâipasal moroitak, a chunga ku mulung atâiriem ani,” a tia.
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
