< Matthew 17 >
1 Sûnruk suole chu Jisua'n Peter le a lâibungngei Jacob le John a tuong ngeia, an theivaiin muol insângna a se pui ngeia.
And after six days, Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them upon a high mountain apart.
2 An mit muchungin Jisua mêl a hong inthûla: a mâi nisa angin a hong vâra, a puonsilngei khom ântêrrakin ahong cheka.
And [he] was transfigured before them: and his face shone as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3 Male ruoisingei inthum han Moses le Elijah ngeiin Jisua an chongpui an mua.
And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with him.
4 Hanchu Peter'n Jisua kôm, “Pumapa, hitaka om hih ei ta rangin idôra asa mo ni zoi! Nu nuomin chu puon-in inthum sin ka ta, nangma rang inkhat, Moses rang inkhat male Elijah rang inkhat,” a tia.
Then answered Peter, and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
5 Ala chonglâitakin, sûm vârin ajuong mukhu ngeia, sûmlâi renga rôl ajuon ringa, “Ama hih ka Nâipasal moroitak, a chunga ku mulungtâiriem ani, a he rangâi roi!” a tia.
While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.
6 Ruoisingei han rôl hah an rietin chu, an chi rai sikin pila an inbokraka.
And when the disciples heard [it], they fell on their face, and were in great fear.
7 Jisua an kôm a honga, a tôn ngeia, “Inthoi roi, chi no roi,” a tipe ngeia.
And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8 Masikin an ena, Jisua telloiin chu tute adang mu mak ngei.
And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9 Muol chung renga an juong chumin chu, Jisua'n an kôm, “Miriem Nâipasal hih thina renga ânthoinôk mâka chu nin neinun mu hih tute ril no roi,” tiin chong a pêk ngei zoi.
And as they were descending the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be raised again from the dead.
10 Male ruoisingei han Jisua kôm, “Ithomo Balam minchupungeiin Elijah a juong bak rang ani, an ti?” tiin an rekela.
And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes, that Elijah must first come?
11 Jisua'n, “Adiktakin Elijah a juong bak rang ani,” male “jâttin ama'n cherêl let a tih.
And Jesus answered and said to them, Elijah truly will first come, and restore all things:
12 Hannirese, nangni ki ril, Elijah chu a juongsai piel kêng ani zoi, mingeiin lei riet mak ngei, an nunuom an lei lo zoi. Ma angdênin Miriem Nâipasal khom an nunuom an lo rang ani,” tiin a thuona.
But I say to you, that Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done to him whatever they pleased: likewise will also the Son of man suffer by them.
13 Male ruoisingeiin Baptispu John chungroi an kôm a misîr ani, ti an hong riet zoi.
Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them concerning John the Baptist.
14 Mipui ngei kôm an kîr nôkin chu mi inkhat Jisua kôm a honga, a makunga khûkinbilin,
And when they had come to the multitude, there came to him a [certain] man kneeling down to him, and saying,

Lord, have mercy on my son; for he is lunatic, and grievously distressed; for often he falleth into the fire, and often into the water.
16 Nu ruoisingei kôm ko hong tuonga, aniatachu mindam thei mak ngei,” a tia.
And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Jisua'n, “Kho anga iemnaboi rai le mi dikloi mo nin ni zoi! Idôr sôt mo nin kôm ko om rang? Idôr sôt mo nangni ko donsui thei ranga? Pasalte hah ko kôm hong tuong roi!” a tia.
Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 Jisua'n ramkhori hah chong a pêka, male pasalte sûng renga hah a hong jôkpaia, ma zoratak han a dam kelen zoi.
And Jesus rebuked the demon, and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say to you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard-seed, ye shall say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.
21 Aniatachu, hi anga hih chu chubaithona le bungêi tinôn chu itên rujûlpai thei nimak,” tiin a thuona.
However, this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting.

And they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised again: And they were exceedingly grieved.
24 Jisua le a ruoisingei Capernaum an hong tungin chu biekin chôiruol rusuongpu ngeiin Peter kôm an honga, “Nangni Minchupu hin biekin chôiruol a chôi ngâi mo?” tiin an rekela.
And when they had come to Capernaum, they that received tribute -[money], came to Peter, and said, Doth not your Master pay tribute?

He saith, Yes. And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? from whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? from their own children, or from strangers?
26 Peter'n, “Ramdangmingei,” tiin a thuona. Jisua'n, “Asa, mahah aomtie chu a ramsûngmingei chu an chôi nâng mak, tiin chong a mele ani.
Peter saith to him, From strangers. Jesus saith to him, Then are the children free.
27 Aniatachu hi mingei mulunghoiloi rang hi nuom mak me. Masikin dîla senla rukuoi vavôr roh. Nga no thok masatak bâia han nangma le keima rang biekin chôiruol rukbak rang sumthîr man ni tih. Mahah hong chôi inla, ei chôitum hah an kôm pêk ngei roh,” a tia.
Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take the fish that first cometh up: and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: take that, and give to them for me and thee.
