Luke 7
1 Hanchu, Jisua'n mingei kôma chong a ril zoiin chu Capernaum'a khuoa a sea.
Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 Rom râlmi ruoipu tîrlâm midit tak dam maka, a thi vavânga.
And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 Hanchu, Jisua'n thurchi a rieta anin chu a juonga a tîrlâm mindam ranga ngên rangin Juda Upangei a tîra.
And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 Jisua kôma an honga, “Hi mi hih na san thei ruo ani.
And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 Kin mingei lung a min khama, kin synagog khom mi sin pe ani” tiin an ngên rîta.
For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 Hanchu Jisua'n, anni ngei hah a jûi zoia. In a tung rangtôn chu, râlmi ruoipu'n a malngei a tîra, “O pu, intak takin hong no roh, ki ina mini pan rangin inhoi mu-ung.
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 Mapêna keima ngêt no kôma hong rang khomin inhoi mu-ung. Hê vai minchôi inla ki tîrlâm chu dam a tih.
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 Keikhom kenêka ulien chong nuoia om ki ni. Ko chong nuoia râlmingei an oma, inkhat kôm, ‘Se roh’ ki tiin a sea, ‘Hong roh,’ ki tiin a honga, Ki tîrlâm kôm, ‘Hih sin roh’ ki tiin a sin ngâi” a tia.
For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 Hanchu, Jisua'n a rieta anin chu kamâm aom a tia, mipui ama jûi ngei a en titira, an kôma, “Nangni ki ril, hi angtaka taksônna hi chu Isrealngei lâia luo la mu ngâi mu-ung” a tia.
When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 Thangthei ngeiin ruoipu in an hong kîrnôk inchu tîrlâm hah a damin an hong mu zoi.
And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
11 Chomolte suole chu Jisua, Nain khopuia a se zoia, a ruoisingei le mipuingeiin an jûia.
And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
12 Hanchu, khopui mokot an tungin chu, mithi an hong rojôna. Ma athipa hah meithâinu nâikhât ania, male A khopuia mi tamtak ngei khom a kôma an oma.
Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
13 Hanchu, Pumapa'n ama amûn chu inrieng amu oka, a kôm, “Chap no roh” a tipea.
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14 Hanchu ava nâia, a tolâi a tôna, a rojôn ngei an inngama, Jisua'n, “Ruotharte, inthoi roh nang ki ti,” a tia.
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15 Hanchu, mithi hah ânsung lita, a chonga. Hanchu, Jisua'n a nû kôm a pêk nôk zoi.
And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
16 An rêngin an chia, Pathien an minpâka, “Ei lâia dêipu roiinpui tak a juong inlanga, a mingei mi minjôk rangin Pathien a juong zoi,” an tia.
And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
17 Hi Jisua thurchi hih Judea ram pumpuia le a kôlrevêla ânthang zit zoi.
And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judæa, and throughout all the region round about.
18 John ruoisingeiin Jisua thurchi John an rila, hanchu a ruoisingei mi inik a koia,
And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
19 Pumapa kôm a tîr ngeia, “a juong rang Messiah hah mo ni ni, mo midang kin la tûng rang mo?” itia rekel rangin.
And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 Hanchu, Jisua kôma an honga, “Baptispu John'n, a juong rangpu hah nini mo, midang kin la tûng rang mo? a ti” tiin an rekela.
When the men were come unto him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 Ma lâitaka han, Jisua'n, mi tamtak damloingei, an natnangei, ramkhori sûrngei a mindam ngeia, mitchongei mit a minvâr pea.
And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Hanchu, John ruoisingei kôma, “Se nôk ungla, John kôma, nin mu ngei le nin riet ngei hah va ril roi, mitchongeiin an mu theia, kholrangei an lôn thei zoi, aphârngei an inthienga, kuorsetngei kuor avâra, mithingei aringin an inthoi nôka, inriengngei kôma Thurchi Sa misîr ani zoi.
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 Iem zoiloina nei loi ngei chu satvur anni,” a tipe ngeia.
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
24 John ruoisingei an se zoiin chu, Jisua'n John chungroi mipuingei kôma a misîra. “A kôma ramchâra nin se lâia han imo mu rangin nin sabei? phâivuon ai sêm sûl innîk ngei mo?
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
25 Imo a en ranga nin se? Puon innêm insil mi mo? Ha anga insil ngâi ngei le ningnuoma lêng ngei chu rêng inah kêng an om ngâi.
But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26 Ni ril ta u, imo a en ranga nin se? Dêipu na? O, ani, Dêipu nêka lien uol nin mu zoi.
But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
27 John hih Pathien lekhabua, ‘Ki tîrton no motona na lampui sin rangin tîr ki tih,’ ai ti chu ani.
This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 Nangni ki ril John hih mi murdi lâia alientak chu ani. Ania, Pathien Rêngrama achîntak khom John nêkin chu a lien uol.”
For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
29 John chongril mipuingeiin an rangâia, aliekin sumrusuong ngâi ngeiin Pathien chong an jôma, a kôma baptisma an changa.
And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 Ania Balam minchupungei le phariseengeiin chu anta ranga Pathien mintuo an henga, John baptisma khom chang mak ngei.
But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
31 Jisua'n, “Atûnlâi ruolthoitharngei hih imo an ang? Ilemo ki mintêk rang ani zoi?
And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32 Nâipangngei bazar muna insunga, senkhatin inneina berlem nangni kin tum pea, lâm mak cheia, chûlna la kin tho khomin chap mak cheia, itia in hêt inlôm angha anni.
They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 Baptispu John a juonga, bungêiin uain khom nêk maka, ramkhori kêng nin tia.
For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
34 Miriem Nâipasal a juonga, a sâkin a nêka, rolruokpa, sumrusuongpungei le mi nunsiengei malpa nin tia.
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
35 A modôm ngei rangin chu, Pathien vârna, chongdik minlangna ani” a tia.
But wisdom is justified of all her children.
36 Pharisee inkhatin Jisua bu nêk rangin a siela, Jisua a sea, bu nêk rangin ânsunga.
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
37 Ma khopuia han nupang inkhat nunsie a oma. Jisua Pharisee ina bu a nêk iti a rietin chu, sariek mirimhoi alabastar bilôr a hongchôia.
And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38 Jisua nûktieng a ke bula ândinga, a chapa, a mitrithîn a kengei a mindûi pea. A samin a kengei a hûia, a ke a tuma, sariek mirimhoi a buoka.
And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Pharisee han a mulungrîlin, “Hi mi hih dêipu dik anîn chu, a tônnu, nupang saloi ani tie hih riet a tih” a tia.
Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
40 Jisua'n a kôma, “Simon, nang ril rang ke nei” a tia. Simon'n, “O, Minchupu ni ril roh” a tia.
And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
41 Jisua'n a kôma, “Mi inikin lâkâi pêk ngâipu kôm sumdâr an intânga, inkhatin razaranga, inkhatin sômranga.
There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 An thuon theiloi sikin an ruonin a ngâidam ngeia, a tu han mo lungkham uol nih?” a tia.
And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 Simon'n a thuona, “Ki iem lamin chu a ngâidam tam uolpu hah” a tia, Jisua'n, “Ni ti mindik” a tipea.
Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 Male chu, nupangnu tieng mâi athaka, Simon kôma, “Hi nupangnu hih nu mu mo? Ni ina ko honga, ka ke rusûkna rang tui ni pêk mak chea, ama'n chu a mit rithîn ke kengei a rusûka, a samin a hûi minhula,
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 ni tumin ni lei don mak che, ama chu ko hong renga ka kengei a tum bâng mak.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 Olive sariek ku lua buok mak chea, ama'n chu ka kengei sariek a pol minzo zita.
My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Masikin nang ki ril, lungkhamna lien a minlang han a nunsiena tamtak ngei hah ngâidam ani zoi, iti a minthâr. Masikin, tukhom ngâidamna chînin chu lungkhamna chîn a minlang” a tia.
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
48 Male, Jisua'n nupangnu kôma, “Ni sietnangei ngâidam ani zoi” a tipea.
And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 A kôma insung ngeiin, Hi anga nunsie ngei tena ngâidam thei hih tumo ai ni? anin tia.
And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 Ania, Jisua'n nupangnu kôma, “Na taksônnân nang a sanminjôk zoi, rathanngam takin se ta roh” a tipea.
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
