< Luke 18 >

1 Hanchu, sabei mindong loia chubai an tho tit rang ani iti rilna rangin hi chongmintêk hih Jisua'n a misîra.
And he spake a parable unto them [to this end], that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 “Khopui inkhata hin roijêkpu, Pathien khom chiloi, mi lien khom chiloi inkhat a oma.
Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 Ha khou nanâka han meithâi inkhat a oma, ân dôipui chunga phuba lâk ranga ngênin a se bang ngâia.
And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 Zora sôtzan chu roijêkpu han nuom pe maka, ania nûka a mulungin, ‘Pathien le mi lien chi no khom inlang,
And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 hi meithâi hin chakal ni tho banga, hi anga hin a hong banga anîn chu nûka chu ni la minjêl chit a tih. Masikin a phuba lei luokpui rong,’ a tia.”
Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 Pumapa'n, a chongril ala zoma, “Rangâi ta u, imo ha roijêkpu saloi han ai ti.
And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 Masikin, Pathien'n a mingei sanna ngêna, sûntin, jântina chapngei chungroi mindon noni mo? San minnu ni mo?
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 Nangni ki ril, an nuomnan inrang takin mindon pe a tih. Ania, Miriem Nâipasal a juong tikin rammuola taksônna mu ni mo?” a tia.
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
9 Ama le ama ka sa intia, midang esêl ngâi ngei kôma hi chongmintêk hih a misîra.
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Voikhat chu mi inikin Biekina chubai tho rangin an sea. Inkhat chu Pharisee ania inkhat chu sumrusuongpu ani.
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 Pharisee chu athenin ândinga chubai a thoa, “Pathien, kei chu midang ngei angin mi ranghuol ngâi, dikloi, inrê mi khom kini loi sikin, râisânchong ki ril. So, sumrusuongpu anga khom ki niloi sikin râisânchong ki ril.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 Hapta tin sûnnik bu ke ngêi ngâia, ke nei murdi a sômakhat nang ke pêk ngâi,” a tia.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 Ania, sumrusuongpu chu lâtaka indingin, invân tieng luo tang ngam loiin, a rôp ruchumin, “Pathien, mi nunsie ki ni, inrieng ni mu roh,” a tia.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 Jisua'n nangni ki ril, “Pharisee mi ni loiin, sumrusuongpu chu Pathien mita theiintumin, a in tieng a se zoi. Tutu omlien kaichu intem an ta, intem kaichu minlutin om an tih,” a tia.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
15 Mi senkhatin, an nâitengei Jisua kôma, an chunga kut minngam rangin an tuonga. Hanchu, ha anga tho rang hah ruoisingeiin an lei mûn chu an lei ngoa.
And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when [his] disciples saw [it], they rebuked them.
16 Hannisenla, Jisua'n nâipangte ngei a kôma a koia, an kôma, “Nâipangtengei ko kôma hong rese ngei, khap no roi, Pathien Rêngram chu hi anga nâipangte ngei ta kêng.
But Jesus called them [unto him], and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17 Diktakin ki ti, tutu nâipangte'n Pathien Rêngram ai modôm anga modôm loiin chu asûnga lût tet no nih,” a tia.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
18 Juda ruoipu'n Jisua a rekela, “Minchupu sa, kumtuong ringna ka manna rangin imo ko tho rang?” a tia (aiōnios g166)
And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
19 Jisua'n a kôma, “Ithomo asa mini ti? Pathien pênna chu tute misa omak.
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none [is] good, save one, [that is], God.
20 Chongpêk hah, ni riet duo, Inrê no roh, mi that no roh, inru no roh, dikloiin mi nôn no roh, na nû le na pa mirit roh,” a tia.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
21 Ama han, “Ha chongpêkngei murdi hah chu ka nâipangte lâi renga ko jôm kêng ani” a tia.
And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
22 Mahah Jisua'n a riet lehan a kôma, “Neinun inkhat tho rang na la nâng, Ne nei murdi juor inla, asum hah inriengngei sem ngei roh, hanchu, invâna rochon nei ni tih, male chu hong inla ni jûi roh,” a tipea.
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
23 Mahah ama'n a riet lehan, ânngûi oka, miriem neipa ani sikin.
And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
24 Hanchu, Jisua'n ânngûi a mûn chu, “Minei ngei Pathien Rêngrama lût rang ântak bah na!
And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25 Ut simphuoi kuora lût rang ântak nêkin mineingei invân rêngrama lût rang intak uol a tih,” a tia.
For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 A chongril riet ngei nâmin, “Hanchu tumo sanminjôk nithei ranga?” tiin an rekela.
And they that heard [it] said, Who then can be saved?
27 Jisua'n, “Miriem ranga nitheiloi hih Pathien rangin chu nithei ani,” tiin a thuona.
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
28 Male Peter'n a kôma, “En roh! kin inngei mâkin nang kin jûi hih,” a tia.
Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
29 Jisua'n an kôma, “O, ani, adiktakin nangni ki ril, tutu Pathien Rêngram sika a in mo, a lômnu mo, a nu le pa mo, a lâibungngei mo, a sarnungei mo, a nâingei mo, mâk kai chu,
And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,
30 anêka tam uolin atûna ringlâi le zora la hong ranga kumtuong ringna khom la man ngêt a tih,” a tia. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)
31 Hanchu ruoisi sômleinik ngei hah Jisua'n atheiin a tuong ngeia an kôma, “Rangâi ta u, Jerusalema ei se rang ania mahan, Miriem Nâipasal chungroi dêipungei lei miziek hah tung a tih.
Then he took [unto him] the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
32 Jentailngei kuta pêk an ta, esêl an ta, munuisan an ta, michilkhum an tih.
For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
33 Jêm an ta, that an tih, ania, sûnthum suole aringin inthoi nôk a tih,” a tia.
And they shall scourge [him], and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
34 Ania, ruoisingei han a chong reng rietthei mak ngeia, a chong ti hah anni rangin chu chong inthup ani sikin Jisua'n imo ai ti riet mak ngei.
And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
35 Hanchu, Jisua'n Jericho a tung rangin lampui kôla mitcho inkhat ânsunga, kut a doa.
And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
36 Mipui rahang a rietin chu, “Imo hi? tiin a rekela.
And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37 “Nazereth Jisua a hongvun ani,” an tipea.
And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
38 Ânieka, “Jisua! David Nâipasal, inrieng ni mu roh” a tia.
And he cried, saying, Jesus, [thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.
39 Moton tienga om mipui ngeiin, “Dâirek roh” tiin an ngoa. Ania ama'n ânring uolin, “David Nâipasal! inrieng mi mu roh,” a tia.
And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, [Thou] Son of David, have mercy on me.
40 Masikhan Jisua ân ngama, mitcho hah hongtuong rangin chong a pêka. A hongnâia anîn chu Jisua'n a rekela.
And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
41 “Imo nang ki tho pe ranga ni nuom?” a tia. “O pu, amu nôk ku nuom,” tiin a thuona.
Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
42 Jisua'n a kôma, “Anîn chu muthei roh, na taksôn nân nang a mindam ani,” a tia.
And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
43 Harenghan a muthei kelen zoia, Pathien minpâk pumin Jisua a jûi zoia. Mipui ngeiin mahah an mûn chu an rêngin Pathien an minpâk zoi.
And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw [it], gave praise unto God.
